The last time I needed passport-style photos for a visa I went to CVS and they were rejected for having too much of a shadow. I came across this Postal Annex looking on Yelp for any reviews that mentioned passport photos for countries other than the US. They were knowledgeable and friendly and were able to fill my request for two different sized sets of photos-hard copies and digital! read more

I've been renting a mailbox at this Postal Annex located at Renaissance Towne Center Shopping Center in University City for several years and something great just happened...... it's under new management. Welcome Rami! A huge noticeable change are the store hours. Now open weekdays until 6pm and until 4pm on Saturday. Rami is going out of his way to accommodate the needs of the Postal Annex customers with Notary Service, Passport Photos, shipping packages and receiving packages for customers with rental mailboxes and dropping off outgoing USPS mail. I highly recommend this Postal Annex if you need to rent a mailbox with 24hr access at a reasonable price. It was so nice to walk in the store to pick up my mail after-hours yesterday and Rami knew my name and box number. Let's welcome the new owner and give him a chance to be successful so this store stays open for a vey long time. read more

The old Karen who can't do her job needs charges pressed. She throws your packages on the ground and throws return labels at you even if you have a disability. She can't do her job and acts like a psychopath. I feel bad for the owner who's a good guy and very helpful! Hopefully she's saving for therapy or a neck lift. read more

I cannot in my good conscience recommend this place of business. I used to have a P.O. Box with them and closed it out because my mails got opened by one of their employees and other customers packages were opened to see what's inside. I called on 9/24 about a package being accidentally sent there. I spoke with a girl who sounded like she's new. First, she told me there was no package. I told her my tracking showed that it was delivered via usps and that it was handed over to someone who work there. She said my tracking was wrong. 5 minutes later she called back and said she found it and that it was placed on the "to be return" rack. I told her I'd go in the next day to pick it up. When I went in on 9/25, there were two elderly women working. One was Vicki, the owner and the other elderly woman with unwashed blond hair. The elderly woman w/ the unwashed blond hair asked for some type of ID or Costco card that match the name on the package, which was fair. I showed her my student ID because the name on my license doesn't match the name on the package. She proceeded to tell me the I don't look like my student ID and got very rude and snappy about it. God forbid, I looked way darker in my student ID due to the lighting and very light in person. I then showed her my license. At first, she said ok that looks like you and then a second later she said " oh wait that doesn't look like you".... by that point, I was like ???? And then she said ok fine whatever, shakes her head and hands me my package. She was very rude and unprofessional. They also charge a $5 fee to pick up a package. The owner Vicki proceeded to tell me that it was her who answered the day before, which was a complete lie!!! The person who answered the phone the day before sounded completely different. This postal annex is the worst!! The negative comments by others on here are quite accurate. I never ship anything through them. I usually go to the US post office on governor, on the corner near Sprouts because it's way cheaper or do my returns at the UPS store next to Vons on regents because the owner at the UPS is super nice and they don't charge for tapes! read more

Given the plethora of the negative reviews, I feel obliged to comment on mine from last month. I needed passport photos taken and my passport renewal app sent. The lady concisely explained my options to me and expediently completed the transaction. She was courteous, honest and professional. The value of the service was reasonable and standardized. This is a needed business for the local community. It'll be a shame if it closes down because of a vocal unhappy minority. read more

This place should be shut down. I was helping out a good friend of mine with paperwork since shes been through a lot from her husbands passing and she was quick to judge us with discrimination. The only lady that was there made my friend cry not once but twice. Called the cops on an elderly woman, really? Shes got some issues and should not be working there. I normally don't leave reviews, and when I do it's always positive ones. But it pains me that I gave these people money out of laziness to change providers. New owners took this place over during the pandemic, they made the hours shorter (it's almost impossible to stop by if you have a 9-5 job, only saturdays) and raised prices, not to mention they are randomly closed **all the time**. You're waiting at least 10 minutes to do the simplest things if you happen to catch them open. Now on top of that, they are legitimately borderline crooks. I went in because I was moving and USPS will not forward mail from a POBox. Even though I've paid these people thousands of dollars over the years and been a good customer, they told me all they could do was make me pay $20 for each envelope I wanted forwarded, and they would only do this if I continued to pay for my box. They don't care at all, no flexibility, no discussion of how this works, they just want you to commit to paying them more and more. I gave them my key because I wouldn't be able to return it once I was leaving and they immediately canceled my box even though I had 3 more months paid. When I told them I didn't say cancel it, I just needed my to return my key, they said "no you did say cancel, we can't open it back up unless you pay for another box." Not like it's a huge deal, but now I can't even have the option to get mail forwarded, and they're going to rent my box out to a new person and double their cash while I don't get the service I paid for. Scummy, unhelpful, and rude. Do yourself a favor and go with UPS or at least a postalannex that is under decent management. read more

The Lady behind the counter is not only rude, but is snarky and I watched as she completely humiliated another customer. I will never go in there. Please train your employees on customer service! The customer doesn't always have to be right, but you should at least, treat them with respect! Whatever happened to making customers feel welcome? Horrible horrible experience! I realized today that it's not just the lady who works here that's the problem but it's the owner, as well. As I was waiting forever just to get a receipt for a drop-off, the employee was on speaker phone with the owner who was being so rude to her and yelling at her. I felt sorry for the employee but then she was so rude to me afterwards that I almost think she deserves the abuse from her employer (not really! I think the employee is rude because the employer/owner is so mean to her). Long story short, this place is dysfunctional, stress-inducing and definitely not convenient. I wish I could give this place zero stars. I went in to ship a few packages on a Friday afternoon. When I walked in, there was one woman assisting a customer and another woman was sitting on the floor eating....... I sat in the shop for 10 minutes and wasn't even acknowledged. At one point the woman who was assisting someone at the counter, walked over, grabbed food from her coworker and proceeded to eat in front of me & the other customer! These people have zero customer service skills and don't care whatsoever. It amazes me that when a customer walks in they don't even have the decency to say "we will be with you shortly" or even just a hello! I came in here to pick up a package that had been delivered. The first person I talked to was nice and informed me that there was a charge to have packages delivered there. I didn't know that this was the case. I ordered something online and dId not know if I was going to be home to sign for it. FedEx gave me the option to send it here or a fedex location a couple miles away. I chose here since it was closest to my house. There was no mention of a charge, wasn't a huge deal though. This is where things went south. As I was getting my package a second worker came up and was super rude and abrasive. Told me I couldn't send packages there if I didn't have a box. Again this was an option fedex gave me and it was close so I chose it. I was ok paying a fee but the employee was rude and seemed like I was this huge huge inconvenience to them. Do yourself a favor, there is a fedex store about a mile and a half down the road. The customer service there is a whole lot better read more

I've been to this location so many times before and never had an issue, the person who I would usually encounter was super nice and helpful. Yesterday I went in to drop off a package and it was a different lady with blonde hair. She was very rude that I did not have my package taped, even though I've never had an issue with it before. I would have received it better and probably would have come next time with my package taped if she did not have an attitude about it. This Postal Annex is very convenient to my home and I have had a PO Box there for years. All of a sudden they have been taken over by new owners and they have cut the hours, which does not make me happy for either receiving or mailing packages, which I do frequently. Fortunately I can get in when they are not open in order to pick up mail from my PO Box. But disappointed in the shortened hours. read more

Had already paid for the shipping cost and wanted to explain to her and show her the receipt but she said to get my own mailbox or ship the package to my house instead and to get out because she was closing the store.Her attitude came out of nowhere. I got the 18 minutes before closing time and she was just upset. I had my daughter with me and was never rude to her I don't understand why she was so dismissive and rude. No costumer service experience at all. My last visit June 17 I believe all she did was complain about the lady owner while been on the phone so I'm not surprised this visit went bad. read more

There was a lady Lisa and a man with a beard whose name I didn't get, and they were frustrated and short-tempered. I've been getting my keys made here for years I am bummed to find out that they raised their price drastically from $3 to $4 just to make a simple house key. All the Ace Hardware stores does it for only $2.49 and never heard of a simple house key being more than $3 but I paid extra at this store bc the employees are so kind but not going to be paying that much extra!! I came here for a notary service ($10). That was my first time doing it. The staff was very helpful and the guy was explaining to me how notary public works. He was very professional and efficient! He got what I needed done in 5 minutes. The location is great. I like the mall where PostalAnnex+ is located at a lot because I always get to park right in front of the store that I am going to. read more

This place USE TO be my go to shipping place for my online business, I paid premium prices for shipping willingly due to to excellent customer service but ever since the new ownership and the stupid lotion impulse buy stand at the register this place has gone DOWN HILL. The middle aged lady who I'm assuming is the owner has been rude on many occasions that I've been in the store, they don't carry any of the shipping supplies I use to purchase when the previous owner had it. The other workers don't know how to measure boxes properly to find the right shipping box which is hilarious. This place is just ready to turn over in my opinion. You won't get any of my business anymore. FYI she kicked me out of the store because I wasn't wearing a mask, nobody else was in the store just her. Maybe it was because I was asian maybe it wasn't...anyway use this store at your own discretion but taking a look at the other reviews, I'm not alone. read more

He was very willing to work with me to create the best refund outcome for both of us. He even gave me a magnet! Update: If I could give this place a zero I would. This place is awful. I needed to print 1 shipping label. As it was last minute and needed to get the Item out last second. For seriously a single sheet of paper black and white they charged me $2.00. This place takes advantage of their neighborhood. Save yourself a ton of money and go to USPS or UPS. Beware of shipping out of this location. They will do anything to ship packages out and waste your money. I had package that I needed to ship and they didn't have the correct box so the employee packed into a box 3 times bigger than the item. When he told me the shipping was going be 50.00 for USPS for a pair shoes. I asked him to put in the correct package size and it was only 25.00. What a joke. The proper way to handle this to simple say sorry I don't have the correct packaging and it will cost more and suggest coming back or supplying your only box. I dropped off here today & I was in & out in less than 1 minute! They gave me an envelope & I handed it off to them & I was on my way. I actually came here because it was on my way to an appointment, & the first DHL drop off location I had been to, made me wait almost 15 minutes, didn't acknowledge me & I still didn't get an envelope! I drive all over Southern California to fulfill errands, and I use to stop by any Postal Annex location to purchase a box that fits, or even shipping and dropping off items with prepaid postage (UPS, USPS, FEDEX, etc.). It's the typical Postal Annex service you get from anywhere you go. And there's even times where I felt a random Postal Annex location would purposely ring me up for $50 overnight shipping. It's usually talked down to something like "$15 to arrive in 2-3 days", but sometimes I feel they want to take advantage of their consumers at times when they feel they can. I've been to maybe a dozen locations, and two of them actually did that to me. But there's something different about this specific Postal Annex that you don't get from the others: A FULL PRINTING SOLUTION. Think about it -- why would you think of Postal Annex out of all places to get your photos and documents printed on wide varieties of papers? Can we say card stock too? Business Cards? Brochures? That sounds like Kinkos / Fedex Office to me, with the exception that these guys charge significantly cheaper for quality that's on par, if not beyond the competitors. There are other Postal Annex locations that do a little printing, but not nearly as much as these guys. Plus they even have a talented graphic designer that can make your designs look professional! Yes, we're still talking about Postal Annex here on Towne Center Dr. To top it off, the friendly staff really makes you feel comfortable when walking in. The second time I showed up to pick up an order, the person behind the counter actually remembered my name and took care of me right away. If you tell them you're on a budget, they'll make sure you still get the service you deserve. Rumors are spreading that they'll even wash your car to make sure you're taken care of. I'm not sure if this is true, but you can probably ask them to see if they'll do it. read more

I've a PO Box there for yrs. and then suddenly back in October, there was a ownership change. Things have gone south since. The girls were nice. The owners wife, the blond lady is rude. The Hispanic lady, not very intelligent. She gets confused a lot. They misplaced my packages as well. Also, tHey charge a lot for shipping. There is a US postal office to the street across from the mall that charges way way less. Don't get ripped off by paying $250 for DSL services. It's way cheaper up the street on Genesee where Roys, Starbucks and Barnes and nobles are. Go there if you're shipping packages. read more

They actually have notaries there. Really. I can't believe how many places like this I have gone in to get something notarized and I usually get "that person isn't here today, they are at lunch" or something like that. I called ahead to this location at 5pm. They promptly and courteously answered the phone and yes they had a notary there until 7pm. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. When I asked if they always had notaries there, the confirmed they always have one present. It was so nice not to have a hassle and wasted time. Thank you! I'll be back! read more

OK, I'm a little behind with this update, but I'm pleased to mention that the store reopened around the beginning of the year under new ownership! The way it is currently being run is how it should have been run all along... catering to their customers' needs with longer hours and better service. The store is filled up with inventory, and the owner is always looking for new products and services to offer his customers. I'm glad that in the end, I was able to keep my original box and number, and didn't have to go through the hassle of changing addreses. The Post Office even dropped of the mail that accumulated during the time they were closed! I expect to keep doing business at this location as long as I am in the area. read more

I shipped an international suitcase through this shipper. I paid close to $700 for international shipping. Amazingly, my suitcase returned to shipper address after two weeks again. The reason is that the shipper forgot to inform me that my suitcase should be unlocked for custom inspection. After weeks of calling and going back and forth trying to resolve the issue, my answer from the shipper is they *assume* every customer should know that the international suitcase should be unlocked for inspection, and Postal Annex denied the claim, leaving me without any compensation for time or money lost to this inanity. I highly recommend that you avoid this place if you're planning on shipping large and valuable items as they will not help you resolve any issues that come up. In preparation to a response from the store, as a customer, by asking you, the shipper, to ship something, one can only assume that your team will ensure the items are comply with standard and packed well. read more
