I emailed this business for a quote and less than 48 hours later I was picking up the finished, polished , perfect project! My pamphlets came out marvelously and I would definitely work with them again. Thank you! I'd like to share that the same exact services Direct To Press provided for me Office Depot quoted me $150 more AND they wanted me to fold my own pamphlets. Absolutely the best printer in San Diego. Have been using him for over 20 years and everything is on time and top quality. He even saved a client of mine that was at Comic-Con with an emergency order. read more

THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST PRINTING PLACE IN SAN DIEGO!! I cannot rave enough about the team at Direct To Press. As a small business owner just starting out, my needs are a little unique and no printing shop in San Diego was able to help me. Until I found this place. Armon was extremely professional, answering all my questions which gave me a lot of insight and was able to help me get my prints done. I literally called every single place in San Diego and was even considering driving up to LA if I wasn't able to find anyone. Armon was the only person able to help me and my prints came out beautiful. I honestly cannot thank him enough, he is truly a lifesaver. THANK YOU ARMON & TEAM! read more

Totally trust Direct to Press with all my printing needs, from business catalogs, to postcards and banners for my retail booth. Easy to work, user friendly upload service, great price, and perfect communication with the sales and designer team. If something looks odd, they contact you before printing the job to be sure you are satisfied with the final work. I moved to Temecula, 3 years ago, but I still work with them, remotely downloading my files online and picking up my work when done. They totally know my business and what I need and for that reason I am a loyal customer. read more

Really as good as it gets. Rush order was completed in record time. The quality is comparable to any other high end printing service for a really, really fair price. Will absolutely keep them in my rolodex as our first printing option. Can't recommend them enough. read more

Could hardly believe the excellent customer service from Direct to Press. We needed quick turnaround for 4 pieces of marketing collateral and we definitely got it. One day turnaround for our flyers and brochures and Noel personally delivered the items to the San Diego Sheraton (directly to our booth!) Better yet, when two of our artwork files was not up to snuff, Noel's team identified it and offered to fix them (extended bleed to end of page and fixed a typo). We were not charged extra for this. Great prices, service and quality all around. This is definitely the printer to use Fred Thiemann Denodo Marketing read more

Professional service with a very friendly attitude! Paul works so hard to get our 7,000+ monthly newsletters out the door each month. They deliver us a top quality product that is always on time and well priced. On more than one occasion, I have sent in orders late or made mistakes that require changes and Paul does his best to accommodate my needs and help me make my deadlines! Thank you again! As a real estate brokerage with a very constrained marketing budget, you guys really help us get the biggest bang for our buck! read more

These guys saved my....!!!! I tried a cheap and fast online print company and they missed the mark...or Fedex leaving me without 1000 tickets needed for an event Saturday am. I called Direct to Print on Friday at 11 am and I was picking up my order by 2. I wish I found them in the first place!! I know that my pieces looked 10x better with them because they took the time to make some suggestions and corrections the other company didn't do. Oh!!! And the only reason they were more was because of my same day rush fee...otherwise they were just as competitive as the online sweat shop, I mean.... company. This company is great!!! read more

Not a good experience. Don't go here. I gave them 2 stars out of the goodness of my heart, not because it was earned. Let's start by saying they charged me a high fee for an over the weekend print and pretended like the made some big authorization to allow this print. It started out bad when I got there and someone was already arguing with the employee. Then I get my print and I am less than satisfied with the colors it printed. Maybe my fault, maybe there's, but either way I got attitude. How about you tell me the issue and I fix it rather, than go to print and offer me a refund saying I should go somewhere else when I am not impressed. Update: I checked my hex codes after returning home and they are all the SAME. I don't know why the colors all printed funky. They tried to blame my graphics but these were borders and fonts, so that should not matter Bottomline: Their service is about as good as theit website. Which is really crappy. As I write this review, I still hear the staff arguing with the patron. Wow. That is not the way to run a business. read more

I have worked with this company a couple times now for wedding invites and save the dates. They are amazing! They are super responsive by email and phone and they turn around the same day which is incredible. Paul helped me out when I needed something in a hurry and text me updates on my order. He also really helped me out when I made a mistake on my notice and needed reprinting. I would definitely recommend them! read more

Great service with excellent quality and fast turn around. I needed (150) 20-page graduation booklets within a 24 hour turnaround and they were able to make the booklets for me - folded, stapled, and full-color within the 24 hour period. Also, their prices were unbeatable! Process is fairly easy. You can upload your files to them through their website. I also needed to make some changes and so I just sent my updated files to them via email. Will do a lot of my personal and professional prints here from now on. read more

I liked the convenience of being able to print Save The Dates postcards locally even though the price would be much higher than finding a bigger online company. I proceeded to upload the file to them after agreeing on a price. A few days later, the bride to be picked up the cards at their shop. She called me up telling me that she wanted me to take a look at the cards as they looked shrimp red on the picture. When I took a look, I immediately knew they were wrong so I made a phone call to their shop and the pressman answered. I explained to him that I've been working in prepress for many many years and that the file SHOULD NOT have printed this red as the couple looks sunburned. He mentioned to me that he noticed it but that if I wanted a reprint, it would come out looking the same as my file is too saturated. He would charge half the price to do a reprint with a new file. I kept telling him that the file looked right but he wouldn't take that as an explanation. I don't know why a company that's been in business this long would not question "sunburned" picture before proceeding with a job. I did what he asked and desaturated the file, although it wasn't what we were going for. The picture was supposed to have vivid colors on it. Uploaded a new file and asked them to confirm it would print right before proceeding. I did not hear back from them. I come to find out they reprinted the job without confirming it with us. In the meantime, I had the original file printed at Staples, with my home inkjet and also at C2 Reprographics in Sorrento Valley. All three samples came out beautiful. Since C2 Repro offered to print them at $22 less than Direct To Press, I had them proceed with the job. I showed them the postcards that Direct To Press printed and not only did they confirm they were way off, they also noticed that Direct To Press printed them at a lower resolution than the file. Needless to say, I explained the findings to DTP as well as a provide a visual side by side comparison of what they produced and what C2 Repro produced. I requested they refund the brides money and that we would return the postcards as they were unacceptable to mail out. They refuse to accept that the job they produced was unacceptable and therefore, I am spreading the word. Save your money and go with a shop that a) calibrates their printers to match the paper b) confirms with clients if something doesn't look right c) accepts responsibility for their mistakes. *** Take a look at the side by side picture of the Save the Date cards*** read more

I headed down to Direct to Press to get my wedding invitations that we designed ourselves printed. We were already behind schedule sending them out for our wedding next month, so I was not only in a crunch for time but also very stressed out from wedding planning in general. Within 5 minutes of coming in, I felt at ease with Armon & Paul. We were joking around and this helped alleviate some of my stress. Armon was really helpful, checking out my file and even making a quick print of it so I could see what it would look like printed out and so I could take it home to show my fiancee. Unfortunately, the paper I had purchased ahead of time for the invitations was not going to work for what I wanted done (not Direct to Press' fault), but Armon & Paul told me exactly what I needed to get at Kelly Paper down the road. Since they (& Kelly Paper) were closing in 15 minutes, they told me to hurry and get down there to get the paper, then return the following day to drop it off so they could get started on the job. I made it over and got the paper in time, then realized that I had exactly 3 minutes before Direct to Press closed. I thought I'd give calling the shop a shot, since I don't really live close by and wanted to save myself a trip back up the following day if possible. Paul answered, I explained that I had gotten the paper, and asked if it was at all possible for me to head back up the road and drop it off even though they were already technically closed. Paul, awesome as he is, agreed, even though he was already headed out the door. This small act showed me what a truly wonderful business owner Paul is. I dropped off the paper, and 24 hours later my invitations were DONE. Paul even included the cutting for me since I had multiple invitations and insert cards on each sheet of paper. When I arrived, they were all cut and ready and wrapped in shrink wrap. The price was equally as awesome. I can't say enough about how happy my fiancee & I are with Direct to Press printing. We plan on having them print our wedding thank-you postcards also, as well as any other future printing we need done. We would gladly give our business to Paul again and refer anyone else to them for their printing needs. Thank you so much guys! read more

Armon was super professional. He called me to explain some things that could make the end product so much better. He even walked me through the steps. When he realized that he had access to layers in my file, he went ahead and made the changes for me! I'll be using these guys regularly. Super stoked that I no longer have to worry if the printing service will get it right. Thanks Armon. read more

I needed Tri-Folds and Club Cards by end of day. I submitted at 11am they found an error in my artwork, emailed, then called when I didn't respond, had it fixed by noon and was ready for pickup at 2:30. It was amazing. They were $100.00 less than the next competitor I found. I have found my new print shop! read more

These people are great. I had NO idea about business card design, paper, gloss, etc. so I went to their location and they explained everything to me with the different prices and what usually works best with different designs. I sent them my template and something with the coloring was a little off, instead of just printing the poor quality card they called me right away to talk about fixing it. They put in their own time to help me fix it and in the end the cards came out perfectly. Cannot say enough about this company. Thank you, Direct to Press! read more

I think its sad when people who have been customers of this place give them a bad review because of an isolated incident... I have had business cards designed and printed here for a very long time ( close to 15 years) and if there is ever a problem it gets fixed immediately. They are fast and reliable. Waaaayyyy cheaper than any online printer service and more of a family atmosphere. read more

BEST DEAL IN TOWN! These guys are real pros! I searched around for somewhere to print out my wedding menus. I had received some quotes from other shops around town but when I found Direct To Press' website...I was skeptical. The prices for any size paper print job (has to be 50 copies minimum) are incredible. You wont find a better deal. The guy helping me asked for the digital copies of my menu quoted me on the price and it was even lower that what the website had quoted me! It was easy and I was out of there in a few minutes. I had mentioned that I did not need them rushed at all. I pick them up after the weekend and I had my 50 menus printed beautifully on glossy stock paper giving my menus a nice finish. I'm amazed and will be bringing my printing needs to this shop until I move out of the San Diego area! I highly recommend this copy shop. read more

I was looking around for a local printer for my self published book when I found Direct To Press. I had something very specific I mind for the look and feel. Paul and the whole team were helpful in the process of finding the right paper I wanted for my project. They were also very knowledgeable about how to set up my artwork so that it displayed best when finished. It was tricky to find exactly what I wanted for the final cover but Paul went the distance by ordering a special chemical for my cover to give it a fantastic finish. I'd be happy to work with Paul and everyone at Direct To Press on my next project. read more

I highly recommend using this business. They give you great feedback on your artwork, great at communication and most important of all your artwork looks magnificent. The team at this print shop is incredible! They are always willing to work with me and any changes that need to be made. One word: WOW. This aint no FedEx Office or Staples Print Center folks.... This is the REAL DEAL. A true original "ink guy" with exceptional digital and direct offset printing capabilities. Ask him to show you his Heidelberg press! I've had the pleasure to work with Paul on multiple occasions now - for business and personal projects - and he continues to impress me (pun intended). Not only is he attentive to detail in production, that same care is expressed in his customer service. Paul takes the time to educate his clients about WHY his press production is the highest quality, and HOW it works that sets his equipment and process apart from the competition. Frankly, he makes his competition look like they are working on old dusty personal inkjet printer. Paul is backed by one great eye on the graphics side: Laurie is his all-things-digital expert. From customer service to lay-up and pre-flight, she's got your back. If you think all of the above isn't enough to try Direct To Press, check out this final bonus: HE IS FAST. Like, I'm not sure how he does it fast. -HIGH QUALITY UV COATED DOCUMENTS (Clients of mine feel guilty taking brochures because they feel so expensive). -UN-MATCHED COLOR QUALITY AND PRINTING - I'm a stickler for matched consistent color and gradients that fade, not stair-step. He's got PHOTO QUALITY in house. -IN HOUSE PERFECT BINDING (Pro Quality) -IN HOUSE SADDLE STICH -IN HOUSE UV COAT -IN HOUSE TRUE OFF-SET PRESS Service with a smile and the genuine feeling that this business owner cares about your project and not just his bottom line - which in today's business world is a lost art. Paul has won over a customer for life and I'm working to steer more of my colleagues and friends to him. read more

Excellent customer service. I got a lightning fast email reply to an email inquiry I sent via the website from Noel. She, Paul, and the staff were so pleasant to work with and saved the day by helping me in a rushed situation. I was able to quickly get a layout done, check hard proofs, and have a really fast turnaround for business cards, with their friendly help. I also got a call when they were ready. I should also mention the quality of the printing I received is great. I love the outcome! I would recommend them highly and will definitely return for printing needs. And, it's so much nicer to deal with a local small business and see the hard proof before committing, especially when dealing with digital images, rather than just online from a big company far away and deal with shipping costs, time, and not sure how they'd really look. It's also great to support local businesses, so I'm super happy to have found them. A+ read more

I have used Direct To Press for the past 2 years to print the program books for my non-profit youth leadership seminar. 4 things make them stand out from the rest. 1) Quality- these program booklets go to our attendees, their parents, donors, speakers, and volunteers. They are full color and absolutely beautiful! So much better than other program books I have seen within my organization. 2) Time- Direct To Press is FAST! The first year I went through them, I was in a bit of a time crunch and they delivered with no problems! 3) Price- Cannot be beat! I have asked for quotes from several other printers and I am shocked at the price they try to charge me. Direct To Press offers quality work at very reasonable prices! And 4) Direct To Press has THE BEST customer service! I feel like I walk out of there after having a conversation with friends! They are just so great to work with! I wanted to leave this review because I'm getting ready to give them more of my business. Because I run a non-profit, I am always looking for ways to cut costs. I've done my due diligence again with asking other companies for quotes and yet again, no one can come close to beating or even matching Direct To Press! So thank you, Direct To Press, for proving that great customer service and amazing products are still available! I'll be in touch very soon! read more

When I started a new job a couple of years ago, I had to start from scratch as far as our vendors. I found Direct to Press on the web along with a couple other printers. After trying out some similar companies online, I found the customer service at Direct to Press unparallelled. If there's ever an issue with the order (i.e. file size, layout) Noel & Robert are always there to help - unlike other experiences where your order is printed regardless of how it looks. I've recommended them to other organizations I've worked with and other colleagues. read more

I recently had my wedding invitations and inserts (RSVP card & info card) printed at Direct to Press. I designed my own invitations, so I'm pretty new at all of this and it was my first time using illustrator. It was a three-color design that had an illustration of the bride and groom and lots of pattern. I needed 100 of each printed and was in a little bit of a hurry. D2P make everything very simple, setting up the files I had emailed them to be printed. They also gave me a variety of paper option. They worked around my schedule and had the final print job done only one hour(!) after I approved the sample print. The price was great and so was the service! I would highly recommend their work. read more

I have to say, I'm glad this company was suggested to me instead of going to a factory company. My fiancee and I brought in a template of our wedding ceremony programs to be printed. When they went to print them, they noticed a problem with the font and a problem with how it was printing on the paper that I had brought to them. They called me immediately and asked me to come in. My fiancee and I went to the store and they were able to fix the problem right away after showing it to me. Not only that, they suggested a different paper - which they didn't charge me for! When the programs were ready, they left me a voicemail, and then followed up with another call the same day, just to make sure I knew they were ready. I felt that these guys really went out of their way to make sure my programs were as good as they could be. I'm really happy with the service and the price.
