The ambiance of this place was just amazing. We went on a Thursday night for a birthday celebration. There was a live musician and he was just amazing. It just sets the mood for the night. Music was really good. We had truffle fries and artichoke dip for appetizer. Truffle fries was better than the dip. We had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. Cheeseburger was great as well. This is a hidden spot right by the water and it is beautiful! The view and atmosphere and even the decor inside are all perfect. Let me start off by saying service was great and the place had a great vibe! Moving on to the most important aspect: FOOD. We ordered the Garlic Knots, Caesar Salad, Orchiaetta, 8oz Filet, and the Poutine Mashed Potatoes. It all sounds amazing but I wasn't pleased. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special. The Garlic knots didn't have enough garlic flavour and it mostly tasted like bread. The Caesar salad was better but it was a bit on the fishy side, still pretty good. The Orchiaetta had a butternut squash sauce but it was very very dry, and needed something more. The filet was probably the best, it was a little overdone but still good, there was one gamey piece. Was so excited to come here after seeing some friends post about this place. The patio is right beside the lake which gives you a beautiful view while you eat! Came here on a Thursday night and although we were 30 mins early for our reso, they seated us right away. I had called earlier that day and requested a table beside the water and they delivered! :) After we were seated, I would say for about 10 mins no one came to greet us. No water offered. We kept looking around to try to figure out who our server was. Finally a server came over and asked if we have been served and took our drink order. As she walked to our actual server it was VERY apparent that our server totally forgot about our table. The nice lady who originally checked in on us came to apologize right away and told us our server Alex will be right with us. Alex then came to apologize and we politely said no worries. We had hoped our services from him would have been better after the confusion but boy was I wrong. After he took our orders, our food didn't come for some time and at first I thought maybe they are just busy, however the table across had order maybe 10 mins after us and they had already received their apps. Then randomly our server came over and asked us how everything was going as if we had gotten our food already when CLEARLY our table was empty ... He quickly realized he messed up and said I'll check on your food. Our food came shortly after. Now not long after we got our food, it started to spit rain a bit but it got worse and we needed to move to another table. Our server was no where to be found, and the lovely lady who checked up on us originally helped us move. And only after we were almost done our dinner, our server came to ask "how is the first few bite of your food?" At this point, I almost wanted to just burst out laughing and ask, are you foreal? California striploin was a little tough to eat, not sure if it's just the cut is like that or the quality. Tasted great and was medium rare just as requested. The twice baked potato was the winner though. 3/5 Truffle mushroom pizza was too salty for me. They just add more of the caramelize onions to balance the flavours. Personally I would not order the again, wasn't anything special. 2.5/5 Truffle fries, can't complain about FRIES and parmigiano on top? What's not to love?? However, I had no idea the sauce was even garlic aioli. I thought they gave us plain mayo! 4/5 Baby kale salad - nice refreshing especially with the oranges! Please make sure to mix the salad before eating. I took my first bite and all I ate was SALT. Personally I didn't taste the dill in the salad. 3/5 Overall my experience was okay. The view was nice while it lasted but I wouldn't be in a rush to come back here. If you want to eat at a patio with a lake view there's plenty of other options. This has been one of our favourite places for a nice meal with a view. However, since it reopened recently after some renos, seems like the food has decreased in quality and uniqueness. The views are very good of the lake and the boats. Patio is also still awesone in the summer for drinks and chilling. This place has potential to be 5/5 if their food was better quality and the menu was more flattering. The interior is quite high end and drinks are good. We ordered the Pineapple Pizza, Pork and Beans, and the Fried Chicken Sandwich. Pizza- thin crust at the bottom, cooked well and not soggy. However, the crust on the side was too thick. They used fresh pineapples which was great. Tomato sauce was okay. Overall was the best dish and decent for the price. Pork and Beans- sounds cool and unique, but not really well executed. The piece of pork was just like a thick slick of Christmas ham. The beans were pretty boring. The poached egg was way over cooked (most disappointing thing). Nothing really catches your eye or tastebuds. Should consider adding ingredients with a unique flavour. Chicken Sandwich- The chicken was fried really well, crunchy and juicy inside. The fries are also good, really crunchy and fresh, just overly salted for my liking. Where this need some work is the bun and adding a flavourful and unique sauce and premium toppinga. The bun was a bit soggy, but atleast warm and toasted. There was a bit of chopped lettuce and some mayo, reminded me of McChicken. So sad. Needs a more sturdy bun and a better sauce. Try maple and berry glaze or something. All in all, food is okay. Views and atmosphere are good. Hopefully they can hire a better executive chef and revamp the menu. When I first saw this place I was worried it would be overrated and expensive from the reviews I read and the only good thing was the location as it's located right on the water with beautiful views of the harbour and water. To my pleasant surprise, the prices weren't bad at all, the food was pretty decent and it was a very nice experience. We came here on a Saturday morning in September for brunch and it wasn't too busy at all! We didn't make a reservation and we were able to get a seat outside on the patio in the back right beside the water. Even though they have a ton of seating, the patio is still limited with around 30 - 40 seat capacity but they're inside space is absolutely huge. It had a nice vibe and you can feel the sun as you ate your foot, and the nice breeze and smell of the fresh water. We ordered the Eggs Benedict with house smoked peameal and the eggplant parmesan sandwich with an arugula salad. Even though both dishes are pretty standard they were executed well and was to our liking! The home fries on the eggs benedict was a bit salty, but besides that the texture was great, not soggy and tasty on the eggs benedict itself. My family treated me to lunch on Father's Day. Have eaten there before and was enjoyable and a beautiful setting. This time was horrible. 4 party table, only 2 meals brought out first. 3 meal brout out 5 minutes later. 4th meal never came and was somehow forgotten or never placed.! Manager came by and apologized for the mistake and offered to cover cost of the 1 order and complimentary desert. My forgotten meal finally came 15 minutes after that. Only 1 meal out of 4 was acceptable. Other were overdone and meat was tough and grisly. Could not finish. Told waitress about it but nothing was said whatsoever. Desert came but was taken to another table. Finally came back but ice cream was melted. The billing came and we were charged for the complimentary desert.! Was finally taken off the bill. My boyfriend ordered the smoked brick chicken and he had zero complaints. The chicken was cooked perfectly and he ordered a twice baked potato instead of the quinoa salad... I can't say that I'm overly impressed with this place... and definitely not worth the money. We came here for Sunday brunch and the bill came to nearly $100 for four people (after tip). We ordered three Northern Benny's, a Sausage, Bacon & Egg, a bottle of San Pellegrino and coffee/tea. I have to say, I wouldn't get the eggs benny again. The presentation lacked lustre and honestly, I've had better hollandaise sauce from the local greasy spoon! It was really thick and had started to set by the time it was served leaving it with a strange texture. Quite disappointing. The eggs were cooked perfectly though. The service was okay considering how busy they were and the atmosphere's nice with a great view of the wharf. There's also dining room, bar and patio options for seating. I like this restaurant. It's a nice, quiet (depending when you go) It has one of the best patios ever. Location: It's on the Lake next to the Pickering marina, so in the summer you can sit outside at brunch sipping mimosas watching the boats come into the harbour or watch the ducks swim by. Sigh. Heaven. In the winter and fall you can sit in the lounge area with it's high windows watching the waves. So relaxing. Vibe: It's a nicer restaurant. Nothing exorbitant price wise but nice. The people that brunch hear look like the country club / sailing set. Chinos, golf shirts, cute summer dresses. No worries, I was wearing jeans and flip flops, the lounge is a bit more casual, and actually cooler. it was all good there. Food: All seated in the banquet chair hybrid booth we ordered the roasted garlic hummus plate appetizer, the souffle pancake and the fried chicken club to share and (much needed) coffee to drink. The coffee came first. It was actually really terrible. We were there just after the place opened. The coffee tasted like it had been around for a while. Who ever made it likes their coffee strong. It certainly was, it punched back pretty hard. The Hummus came next. It was in a good looking dish. It tasted delicious. The dish hummus was covered in a sprinkling of what looked like cayenne. That was just the kick that elevate a great dish to fantastic. It came with small rounds of bread (still oven warm) cucumber, yellow and green zucchini, pickled beet ( yum) and pickled onion (weird). I would have never paired pickled things with hummus, but I will from now on! I will get this every time I come. The Hummus. Cayenne and crispy chickpeas on top. The best dish of the day!! Next we waited, and waited. Then we noticed that everyone who came in after us were getting their food. We hadn't seen each other in a while, we had already cut our hunger with the hummus, so it was all good. We got a refill of strong coffee and waited a bit more. The waitress ( who was so nice by the way) came by with her and the kitchens apologies and said the pancake wasn't coming out like they wanted so it was going to be 7 more minutes. She put down a plate of bread with butter. Compliments of the kitchen. um. nice gesture. I mean a free drink would have been way better, but it's all cool. The bread was nice and warm from the oven, steaming when you ripped it open. butter melted into it. Kinda hoppy tasking like it was a beer bread. Was delish. Complimentary bread. Oven warm, couldn't capture the steam rising from it. Who doesn't like free soft warm bread? So then we waited some more. Seven minutes passed and we still waited some more. We were still catching up so it was all cool. They are lucky we are so easy going, it was now well over an hour wait. So the food came.Looked great!! The pancake looked great. Worth the wait. Housemade obviously. Blueberry Compote, the whipped cream has a slight vanilla flavour, and it was sprinkled with icing sugar. we noticed after that it said there was maple syrup but we never noticed it, actually we talked about asking for some but decided the blueberry and cream were enough Next we dug into the fried chicken club. It contained avocado, tomato, an ancho ranch dressing, and friend chicken. It came with a side of fries. This was just okay. I wouldn't get this again. it was messy and with the tomatoes and sauce, it was really liquidy and it made the inside of the bun really soggy. The fries were absolutely delicious. So this was the first time we came for brunch. To be perfectly honest it was disappointing. $15 is definitely too much for a pancake, especially one that was just good. Coffee was bad and the sandwich disappointing. But when we came for lunches and dinners the food was great. I guess we can say the food is inconsistant. Our first outing at a restaurant after places started reopening during Stage 2 and I'm glad to give Port a try. We were able to walk in and snag a table for 2. A spacious patio overlooking a beautiful view with lots of shade at the time we went. Ways to order made sense and staff were helpful and sensible. Bathrooms were clean and maintained as well. Food was good as well. We started with an artichoke dip which was fine and to be expected, nothing over or underwhelming about it. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries and while I could see someone not liking how the thick cut fries were mostly small and crunchy, I actually like mine that way so had no problems. I actually liked how you had to walk up and order drinks from the bar and they brought it out to you. They were also conscientious about my drink being non-alcoholic since I'm pregnant (but I still wanted something fun out on the patio. Virgin mojito woo hoo!). From the moment we walked in the greeter was snooty and made us wait to be seated even though only 30% of the restaurant was full. She even said, "wait until I seat the customers coming in behind you". So wait a minute, we came first but you're going to seat the next couple that comes in AFTER?!!! Then the wait for someone to take our order was another 15 mins. Keep in mind the place was not even busy and there was more than enough staff to serve. Reserved a seat for their patio using their online booking site (Resy.com) for a weekday afternoon around 2:30pm. I enjoyed the view of the Frenchman's Bay Marina area and you'll find plenty of shade on a sunny day depending on the tables your seated at. For starters we had the Artichoke Dip (roasted garlic, grana padano cheese) which was served with like a garlic flavoured crostini. I did enjoy this appetizer and would recommend. You can go wrong with the Three Cheese Margherita pizza. (Fresh & Aged Mozzarella, Parigiano, Tomato, Basil). The pizza had a good amount of tomato sauce and cheese and was thin crust. i wish i could give zero stars, but since that's not an option, i'll give them one, which is much more than deserved. food was okay, but what was the worst was the service. called ahead to see if i was allowed to bring my support animal onto the patio, and was told on the phone that they "weren't going to argue with me" about it but he was not allowed on without an "ID card". (support animals do not have a card/certificate, they get a letter which i'm not obligated to show unless it's an airline im flying with or i'm applying for housing that doesn't allow animals), once i explained this and assured them our dog was well-behaved and quiet, they passed me to a manager, who let us in no problem. once we were inside, we were led all the way to the back of the restaurant, where our server disappeared for five minutes to talk to a coworker, leaving us very confused and in the middle of the dining room (i was also with my mom who is ON CRUTCHES). she then came back, and led us to a table after waiting for her to stop gossiping. we sat down, and ordered, the food took about 15 minutes so we thought things were looking up. we then ate about half our meal because the portion was on the larger side and sat for 30-45 minutes, (that estimate does not include how long it took us to eat!) waiting for our plates to be cleared. we put our napkins on our plates along with forks and knives to indicate we were finished with our meal, but our server went by every table but ours, completely ignoring us even when we tried to wave her down. eventually another server came by and cleared them for us and gave us boxes for our leftovers. we then also had to wait another 10 to get the bill, and then also wait again for a machine. we get our bill and just quickly pay as we want to leave after our experience. on the way home we realized we been charged for something extra as the numbers did not add up. called the restaurant to speak to the manager about the charge, and had just about the worst conversation with whoever picked up the phone. also incredibly rude, and completely useless in terms of resolving the issue. apparently we were charged for water? we were never offered anything but still or sparkling, and we're never made aware of a $16 charge for water, nor was it on any menus given to us. if we were going to pay almost $20 for WATER of all things, we would've opted for an actual drink. the waitress we have said we insisted on still water, and that we should've just known it had a charge. i guess we're just supposed to know through osmosis or echolocation like dolphins. would not recommend to you unless you want mediocre food, abysmal service, ripped off and a headache. read more

It was great to visit the new Port restaurant - Port 2.0 - renovated after a fire just over a year ago. Once a mainstay of Pickering fine dining at a unique lakeside location. We have been waiting a year to visit again. When we arrived, we admired the surroundings, the beautiful lakeside views, and the gorgeous patio. The interior decor was also beautifully lit, with large windows to enhance your view of the lake. To maximize the romance, go there when the sun is about to set and sit on the patio or in a booth on the west side. The views of the lake are quite charming! The former incarnation of Port was really a "special occasion" place for us, where you go for a birthday, celebration, or just to splurge on a romantic dinner in a very atmospheric, lakeside location. For the location and decor, five stars for sure. This is a beautiful restaurant. We were seated promptly and our orders taken in a timely fasion. All the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. So far, 5 stars was still looking good. We noticed that the menu was significantly pared down from the previous menu, and our hospitable server explained that it is a sort of "soft start" for the restaurant, as they are just getting back into it. Hence, no specials. Well, OK, I get it ..,. like Port is coming back from a sick leave (a.k.a. the fire) and needs a few weeks of gradual re-entry on the job to really get that game face on. Anyway, we ordered our beverages and appetizer. Everything arrived promptly, and we ordered our main courses. Our server had a very good knowledge of the menu items and willingly made helpful suggestions. Again, service was performed with that delicate combination of an efficiency which did not make you feel as if you were being rushed out of the door, but also did not leave you wondering how to pass the time before your food arrived. In short, the table service and staff was excellent, and again, 5 stars. Between courses, I took a stroll on the dock and watched some very charming ducklings. (Just think about this - a stroll on the dock between courses - the location really is stellar). Again 5 stars for surroundings. However, I had to take off a star, for the following reasons. First, we ordered a Skillet Garlic Bread (served on Cast Iron) for the appetizer. We were a bit taken aback to find that, for $8.00, we received a very small side dish sized cast iron pan with four golf-ball sized breads. Come on, Port, you can do better than that for $8.00! However, those breads were beautifully seasoned with grated asiago cheese, and had a very tasteful amount of garlic butter - enough to be sumptuous, but not so much that you are wondering if the restaurant has a defibrillator (hello, Jack Astor's - oh, and I should mention that Jack Astor's serves a portion 3X that size for $6.99. OK, they don't have a view of the lake, so give and take). However, we felt a bit ripped off on this one. It was tasty, but not worth it for the size. You might want to skip the appetizers, at least until their updated menu is fully up and running. We also ordered their most economical bottle of red wine on the menu. It cost about $50.00. Surely they can find a house wine at a friendlier price. This is another reason why I can't yet give them the five star rating. After all, what's fine dining without the option of affordable wine? The mains were well prepared and skillfully presented. Some highlights were the Clam Chowder Gnocchi (truly a unique and cheffy creation, with light, fluffy gnocchi) and the Poutine Mashed Potatoes (these are much better than they might sound). The fettucine alfredo was probably the biggest bang for the buck - a full quarter chicken, beautifully grilled. So I give 4 stars because Port 2.0 (the second incarnation) sells a small selection of well prepared food, and some is, frankly, overpriced for what you get (I'm talking about you, in particular, skillet bread!). I really hope that Port succeeds. This restaurant was our special-occasion go-to, and I really hope that they can make a go of it. RIght now, I would suggest to go there for a cocktail and share a pizza. I hope that they will expand their selections, and offer a few more affordable appetizers. I will be keeping an eye on it, and hope to visit again soon. I really would like to give Port 5 stars. read more

We have been coming to Port for many years and have generally always had a great time until our last visit. Let's share a few pluses before we get into what went horribly wrong. Port is in a great location with outstanding views of Frenchman's bay and the marina. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, and the service is good. The food however has taken a major nose dive. We learned that the management of Port has changed hands in the past month or so and the menu has been changed (more items) and there's a lot of new staff. The food was mediocre, with two dishes we had, the mussels and the Frenchman's Bay salad being inedible. We asked for a dairy free mussels dish (the one on the menu is made with cream), they said 'yes, no problem'. Oh but it was! The first mussels dish came out with zero seasoning, the mussels were just sat in something akin to sea water. They tried a 2nd time, and a bowl of mussels came out slathered in some thick pre-made garlic goop. It was disgusting. The salad had a vinaigrette dressing on it that, we think, was missing every ingredient other than vinegar! My Dad's eyes watered as he took a few bites. We couldn't eat it. The staff were very good, they offered replacements and the manager came to talk to us at the end of our meal. What we learned was that the Chef wasn't working that night (no Chef on your busiest night?!?) and that 'they were having a few problems in the kitchen'. We hope Port gets their 'problems' sorted out and focuses on getting the food right. They've got everything else right - location, service, ambiance. Just need better food. read more

Overlooking Frenchman's Bay, Port seems like the new place to go to enjoy the summer weather. I came here on a gorgeous summer afternoon and had to wait approximately half an hour for patio seats. It wasn't a big deal since my party wasn't hungry yet and they text you when your table was ready so you didn't have to stay to wait. Food 3.5/5 The brunch menu is pretty standard with your typical eggs benedict, steak and eggs, etc. The prices are a little higher than other restaurants but you are definitely compensated with the view. We ordered the peameal and cheddar eggs benedict and classic breakfast. The food was basic and wasn't anything amazing but I do want to note that I don't recall any cheddar on my benedict but perhaps it was in the sauce? The meals come with a side of potatoes (better if they were crispier) and spinach salad (refreshing citrusy dressing). The highlight of the meal however was the jam... I know it sounds crazy to rave over jam, but the flavour resembled gobstopper candy. It had a sweet berry flavour with a subtle hint of orange that was so good, it made me sad when I ran out of bread. Service 3/5 From the moment we walked in, the hostess was very friendly and welcoming. She kindly told us that the patio had a waiting list. She was very chatty and it was a shame she wasn't a server. Our server on the other hand was very monotoned and simply took our orders and brought our bill. She never came by to check on us or ask us how everything was. The other waitresses who we walked by throughout the restaurant were more attentive and chattier than our server. Overall if we were talking simply about the atmosphere and views, the restaurant would hands down be 5/5. However, the food wasn't anything amazing and the service wasn't particularly great either. This is a beautiful restaurant especially in summer time with the view. At winter too, after a hard day of work, the ambiance and the friendly service, especially this new beautiful friendly waitress (JASMINE) that they recently hired with excellent service served us today was definitely a bonus to brighten up a Monday! Her service was better than some fine dine restaurant, I must admit. One thing that I really like about this restaurant is their all you can eat mussels for $16. You won't get bored as they serve a different speciality flavour every Monday! I usually call ahead to see if I like the flavour before I come, because I am not a huge fan of tomatoe based sauce. Tonight, the speciality sauce was the cream garlic, it was tasty and worth the stinky breath after! The mussels comes with bread on the side to dip the sauce and it's absolutely perfect with a glass of wine! Even the regular menu, the Brussels sprouts were good even when I am very picky with my vegetable. I highly recommend this restaurant if you haven't ventured out to this area! Jasmine is definitely different from the rest of the servers and it makes a huge difference to the dining experience. read more

I've been to this restaurant a handful of times and I know I'll be going back again! First of all, the ambiance is spectacular. As soon as you go in you see a clean, crisp restaurant with pretty lighting. As soon as you go further in the restaurant you get to the windows and can see the beautiful port! I also through my sisters birthday party here and the staff was very accommodating! They told me I could bring balloons, favours and whatever I wanted to decorate the tables with. Some restaurants don't allow balloons so I was really happy to hear that they were more accommodating :) I've been to Port for brunch and lunch but not dinner. To start with I had the Freeman's Artichoke Dip. I cannot tell you guys enough how AMAZING this dip was, my mouth is watering thinking back on it! The bread with olive oil that it comes with is so good on it's own! For brunch I've ordered the Eggs Benedict. Now a good eggs beni relies on the hollandaise sauce and Port completed aced this one! The spinach and goat cheese also added that extra flavour. The one thing I wasn't too crazy about was the fish and chips (I know, shocker considering they have a lot of seafood!) but it just didn't have a wow factor. I was expecting a bit more flavour, well cooked and a good sauce. The fries though, they were yummy! The "Designated Drivers" was a great touch to their drinks menu. Non-alcoholic specialty beverages always get me at restaurants. The La Fresh is my favourite. If you're a lemon lover like me you'll thank me for this later. Berry Fields is also delicious! It has more of a berry flavour. Overall, the presentation on their drinks were stunning! To all my east enders; if you haven't been to Port you should definitely go! One of my favourite waterfront restaurants in Durham. Gorgeous view from the backyard patio in summer or from high tables by the bar area. The food had changed for the better over the years and the ambience casual yet great for dates or get together with family and friends. They also craft some cool cocktails! The Buttermilk Fried chicken with corn bread and hot Buffalo sauce on my last visit was surprising burst of sweet, tart, spicy flavours and the braised lamb grilled cheese sandwich perfect for lunch. read more

So this is our first visit since the re-open. We used to be regulars when we lived closer in the area. I have to say it was great! Beyond expectations!!! First off, they changed the bar area to the back, makes the place look even bigger- looks more open, our server said it opens in the back so in the summer would be nice to sit at the bar and see the water. Our server was very sweet and gave great recommendations, feel bad I forgot her name . The Caesar salad was delicious- the dressing was more to our taste (more garlicky vs creamy) - the best Caesar salad we've had in a looong time at a restaurant. We shared a few dishes, burger was on point. The pineapple pizza had hot peppers so a nice mix of sweet and spicy. The fettuccine Alfredo was far from typical first off the sauce was great not just heavy cream but more like a cheese/butter sauce and there were 2 huge pieces of roasted chicken - seriously delicious. For dessert we shared the creme brûlée cheesecake- lots of textures also very tasty. I ate so much I literally had to be rolled out of there but I'm not complaining:) it's a hidden gem if you haven't tried it! Wish we lived closer so we could come more often read more

I've been eating there 10+times and the food was always great! I'm a bloody Ceasar lover and sadly I didn't like theirs.

We came in here on a Saturday evening around 6:00pm for dinner. Without reservations we took our chances and were able to snag a table in the lounge. Later the hostess informed us we had just beat the rush as there were no more vacant tables left and a wait to be seated. We were seated at an intimate round butcher block high top table with leather back chairs situated in front of a gas fireplace against a stone wall. The mesmerizing views of the glimmering bay were breath taking even more perfect was the timing as the sun was soon setting. The restaurant itself is stunning, very modern, dark grey stone tile flooring, high industrial ceilings painted in teal, and a large wrap around bar with a glimmering black counter top. For drinks we started with two refreshing glasses of nicely chilled Pinot Grigio. For our apps we we went with the Kale Chips served with a roasted garlic & lemon aioli dusted with shaved Grana Padano. These were the perfect munchies to nibble on and watch the sunset. They were perfectly crispy and nicely seasoned and I really enjoyed slathering the chips the rich creamy aioli. For my main I went with the: Three Cheese Tortellini - Cheddar, Habanero & Jalapeno Monterey Jack and Mozzarella, Spinach, Rose Served beautifully in a white and blue china platter, it was a very hearty portion. Very rich and creamy, loved the added spicy kick from the cheese. Comfort food at it's finest. Hubby went with the other pasta choice: Shrimp & Scallop Carbonara - Pancetta, caramelized onions, fresh herbs, sundried tomatoes, Chardonnay cream sauce, Grana Padano, Linguine Noodles Again hearty portion with tons of baby scallops, loved the crispy salty pancetta adding another depth of smokey salty flavour For Dessert I went with the Mud Pie which actually wasn't a pie or even close to what the description indicated. Instead what I received was a Milk chocolate brownie with toasted marshmallows on top and drizzled with caramel sauce. When I asked the waitress if I received the wrong dessert she stared at it for a while and then told me they have 3 different pastry chefs and they all do there own take on the dessert? I think she was just covering for there mistake. The brownie was average not the best nor the worst. Hubby got the Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream. It comes with 3 scoops however the waitress returned to inform us they were out of chocolate so he got 2 scoops vanilla and 1 scoop strawberry. However the ice cream taste wise wasn't spectacular and it had a very strange texture not creamy and partly freezer burnt. Overall what really makes this restaurant is the view it was just stunning! Come at sunset and reserve a table in the lounge by the window and enjoy the intimate romantic atmosphere while all your worries melt away with a glass of wine. read more

This is one of the better hidden gems in the GTA. I'd classify Port as a Joey Don Mills, Moxies & Milestonesque fusionesquey "premium casual" dinning experience. But it's got one thing none of these other restaurants have: a harbour view! Why can't a place like this exist in the downtown waterfront area? I can only imagine how popular a place like this would be if it took advantage of our waterfront, instead of the crap we currently have, such as tourist crap traps (which even tourists aren't going to) like Captain Johns! The deck looking out into the tranquil harbour has got to be one of the more beautiful views in the GTA, and this mid-sized restaurant takes full advantage of it with it's floor to ceiling windows. The service was pretty good even though on this night it seemed like they had a sophisticated crew of high school kids. Maybe I'm getting older, but they seemed awfully young. They were very professional nonetheless except for when our waitress dropped an "oh shit" when she realized our bill was wrong. The food was pretty good. Everyone seemed happy with the food: our table had the Free Run Chicken with mash, a walleye, a rack of lamb, a steak and I had the artic char with risotto. My fish was done perfectly and the risotto was very good. As a table we shared some mussels and their charcuterie plate. Mussels were good, but the charcuterie plate was the main reason this isn't a 5 star place. It was some mediocre slices of bread, prosciutto, low end brie cheese along with some balsamic vinegar and dijion mustard dip. That and a bread basket is an additional cost here. We followed it up with some Crème brûlée, apple crumble and cheese cake, and we all agreed our deserts was our least favourite part of the meal. There wasn't anything specific, but they could definitely rework the dessert menu. The bar section has a few big screens carrying the game, and one when the Leafs make it back to the playoffs, I'm sure I'll head out here to watch a game or two in the spring. If you're ever out in the east end, i'd say it's worth a drive to Port, however make sure you have a reservation in hand, as this is THE fine and romantic dinning experience out in Pickering. read more

Went for an early dinner tonight - amazing food! Beautiful scenery! Great staff :) I had the chicken quinoa salad and my husband had the steak. Chicken was pretty good, and my husband said the steak was comparable to the Keg. He said the potato was even better. We will return :) read more
