This restaurant was tucked in the Pickering Casino. You park and enter the casino and walk to the other end of the casino where you will find Sun Sui Wah. We went on a Sunday and it was pretty empty we were seated right away. The China they use is brand new so everything clean and modern. There are robots that can deliver your dim sum to your tables. The prices are a bit on the hefty side so took a star off and it took a long time to get our order. We ordered the bbq pork buns which were soft and tasty, and a couple other shrimp dim sum dishes. Everything was delicious but the portions were small compared to regular dim sum restaurants and most expensive. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience.

Great elegant atmosphere. A bit pricey but celebrates your win at the casino. Tried sui mai and hai gow and tasted great. Also got sticky rice and bao which was also good.

Food was good ,but for the price it is not worth it. Might as well go to Congee Queen.

Did not expect to walk into such an upscale and authentic Chinese restaurant in St. Catherines. We…read morewere visiting nearby for a photoshoot, and just needed a place to unwind and grab some food. With its nearly two thousand Google reviews and tasty looking menu, it was a no brainer. Instantly as we stepped in the restaurant we were blown away by the elegant decor and ambiance. You could have a classy dinner date, birthday celebration, or even wedding here if you wanted to! The space is built for all kinds of occasions and has many private rooms and spaces for the same. We, of course, sat on the main floor, with a couple other people eating at 4PM. The service was professional and fast, although I didn't feel too confident on the menu suggestions they gave me. We ended up ordering the Braised Beef Noodle Soup ($18), DongPo Pork ($27) and Xiaolongbao ($7) to share between two people. We did not need the dim sum dish - the other two items had sufficient portion to have us full. The star was definitely the DongPo Pork, which was perfectly braised and super tender. With rice, it was delicious. The noodle soup, while tasty, was a bit overhyped by the waiter who made it sound life changing - not at all mad at it, but I have definitely had better. In St. Catherines, I would assume that 'better' does not exist, so I understand. Overall, great visit. On the pricer side for Chinese food (around $80 all in for two people) but it certainly is upscale dining. I don't live anywhere close to St. Catherines so unlikely to be back, but I will recommend it to my friends if they visit the area.

Many may already know them through the Wind group and their other locations. The atmosphere is one of the standout features -- modern and warm, while still embracing the building's historic architecture, with beautiful wooden rafters and ambient lighting that create a very inviting dining room. We enjoyed several Hong Kong-style dim sum dishes, and everything was tasty. That said, for a place specializing in authentic dim sum, I'd be remiss not to mention the surprising omission of Ha Cheung Fun -- with its silky delicate texture and sweet soy sauce, it's one of the true classics. C'mon guys, it's part of the "Big Three" of dim sum -- Har Gow, Siu Mai, and Ha Cheung Fun! Service was excellent -- our server was wonderful, attentive, and very thorough throughout the meal. A helpful tip many people may not know: there's a large parking lot directly across from the entrance, making parking much easier than it first appears. Overall, a beautiful space with solid dim sum and excellent service -- still one of the better options in the Niagara region. Saluti.

I went on a weekday, they were really busy with take out orders and walk ins with people getting their frozen dim sums. The only downside is they no longer have dine in available which is fine, I usually just take it to go and either eat in the car or find a park nearby. The prices have gone up a little bit over the years but that's normal with previous pandemic and inflation. It's still decent. I would say it's still the cheapest and most affordable dim sum place you can find in the area. They have the usual shrimp dumplings, siu mais, sticky rice with pork, bbq buns and plenty of other variety. We got quite a bit for lunch and also picked up some frozen ones so I can get my dim sum fixed at home. Hands down, I would be back when I run out of frozen dim sum even if it means driving 1.5 hrs to get here.

When I did a staycation in Hamilton in February 2020, I remember passing by an August 8 restaurant…read more It has a handful of locations that offer all-you-can-eat sushi. Last month, I was back in Hamilton for a mini staycation. I needed dinner. I looked on my Uber Eats app and saw that this August 8 had a number of BOGO items. I had to get in on the deals. I ordered the following items: - Avocado salad - California roll - BOGO - Sticky rice (3) - Salmon sashimi (3) - Steamed sponge cake (4) - BOGO I drove over to the eatery to pick up my order. It's located in a tiny plaza with limited parking. I managed to snag the only parking spot available. I had to careful back in, as there was a car parked illegally in the parking lane. It's the downside to fetching or heading over here to dine. The parking situation is atrocious and downright dangerous. More on that in a bit. I headed to the counter and got the nicest young man. I let him know that I had an Uber Eats order and stated my name. He found my order and handed a bag over to me. I thanked him and left the eatery. There were a handful of students hanging around outside. One of the guys was sweet to open and hold the door for me. Kindness isn't completely dead. It was a nice touch. The downside was that the woman who parked illegally parked in the fire lane didn't bother doing a check behind her and decided to back up. I don't get why she needed to back up, but she nearly backed into me. I was not impressed. I actually managed to get out of the way and had a good look at her from the passenger side of her car. I let her know through some arm gestures that she needed to be careful and that she nearly ran over me. My gestures did have words accompanying them. I can't state them here. They weren't pleasant words that I use regularly. I got to my car and safely placed my food in it. I then drove back to the hotel room to chow down. The food was yummy on the whole. I will break things down: Avocado salad The miso dressing was flavourful. The avocado slices were delicate and were starting to turn brown. The veggies were fresh, but I didn't love the iceberg lettuce. I'd skip getting this salad. California rolls Excellent! The filling was warm, which was different. I loved them. The fake crab, avocado, and julienned cucumbers were so good. They did have black sesame seeds around them. Sticky rice (3) It was a bit weird seeing white paper wrapped around each bundle of sticky rice with its own leaf wrapping. I felt that it was a waste of paper. The bundles had more white pepper than necessary. The filling was generous, with small chunks of pork. I ate one each day. They heat up nicely. Salmon sashimi (3) The best! Each piece melted in my mouth. You don't need to chew much. The sashimi was super fresh. Steamed sponge cake (4) I am a huge fan of traditional steamed sponge cake. There was a twist with the version here. You get dainty triangles with layers of sponge cake. I'm not sure what separated each layer, but this cake was subtly sweet and still warm. I loved it so much. I want to return and get some more food. I'd avoid the avocado salad. The parking situation makes me want to fetch food from a different August 8, though. Maybe I should try coming during lunchtime when I'm in the area and see if parking is better. (442)

When they provided with a table it was right next to an exterior door, with people going in and out. The was a cold draft, we even had to tell the hostess/manager, if they could provide a divider to divert the draft from hitting our table. We ordered 9 dim sum dishes, one be Roasted Pig Mixed Cold Jellyfish, which was $23.80. I had the idea that it would be a fair portion. When it came, I was shocked, it was only 6 pieces of Roasted Pig. When I spoke with the manager about the portion size, he commented "for that price it is fair". There was not apologies and walked away, nor was it written on the menu. If I had known it was only 6 pieces (size of your index and middle finger put together). I would not have ordered it. If you want to have Roasted Pig, you can get better deals else where. Also, ordered Marinated Chicken Feet for $13.98, when it came to table, it was also a disappointment, part of the chicken feet was dark in colour, not even sure if it was even edible or not. Another dim sum dish that I have order was the steamed chicken with fish maw. The chicken was okay, but there was only two small pieces of fish maw, (the size of each piece was 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch). The order 6 dim sum dishes that was order was mediocre, tasted better from other Dim Sum restaurant. When I received the bill for the meal it came out to be $119.50, they even had included the tip. They didn't even give me an option weather a tip was even worthy. I will definitely not be returning to this place. I definitely do not recommend anyone to come to this restaurant. I would consider blacklisting this restaurant. It's simply deceiving customers.

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.

Based on previous Yelp reviews, the quality is inconsistent. Today, it ranged from outstanding to acceptable. I was one of a group of four, and we arrived around 5:15 p.m. for an early dim sum dinner. The decor was clean, comfortable and a bit dated. Two of my dining companions had been coming to Perfect since childhood, and the slightly worn decor was, for them, traditional and comforting as a pair of old slippers. As long-time visitors, they had some recommendations to make: we ordered Shiu Mai and Har Gow (as usual), steamed BBQ Pork Bun, Steamed Glutinous Rice, Pea's Green Shrimp Dumpling, Beef Ball, Deep Fried Squid and Cheung Fun (Rice Roll) with Shrimp and Leek. Here's my rating /5: 5/5: Har Gow; Cheung Fun; Pea's Green Shrimp Dumpling 4/5: Beef Ball; Deep Fried Squid; Shiu Mai, Steamed Glutinous Rice 3.5/5: Steamed BBQ Pork Bun The Har Gow, Cheung Fun and Shrimp Dumpling all featured a translucent, starchy dough. At worst, this dough can be too chewy or too thick but tonight, at Perfect Chinese, it was indeed perfect, and beautifully translucent, allowing the colors of the fillings to shine through. The Pea's Green Shrimp Dumplings were particularly beautiful. They tasted as good as they looked, with the fresh taste of the pea greens complimenting the shrimp. The Har Gow were plump, generous and the shrimp was nicely cooked, not at all rubbery or tough. The Cheung Fun was also excellent, beautifully complemented by the slightly warm, sweet soy sauce. The Beef Ball was beautifully aromatic and well seasoned, but I would have preferred them to be a bit more tender and less bouncy in texture, and otherwise would have been 5/5 for flavour. However, this could be how the texture is meant to be. The other 4.5 dishes were excellent, but not outstanding. The Steamed Pork Bun was very good, but I wish the BBQ pork filling had been more generous. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and our food arrived in a timely fashion. However it was, at times, difficult to get the attention of waitstaff. At 5:15, parking was plentiful, but the lot is rather small, and I could see the possibility that at popular times, such as weekend brunch, it could be tight. The Perfect Chinese Restaurant takes both cash and cards, and is conveniently located near Highway 401. In short, the Perfect Chinese Restaurant is ambitious, well-established, open all the time, possibly inconsistent, fairly priced, and offers a very good dim sum, among other options. Come here for the Dim Sum, for sure. You can satisfy your Dim Sum craving night and day!! Worth noting: they offer a whole Peking Duck for a very reasonable price, they offer a rather pricey Crab Claw Hors D'oeuvre that my dining companions raved about, and they have a good selection of fresh seafood. I saw a number of tables ordering the lobster. Next time, I will check out some of their seafood offerings and some of their other dim sum selections. I've also heard some good things about their noodle dishes.
