My mom gets sesame balls from here as well as frozen Siu Mai for a pack of 50 for around $25. We're regulars here and I must say that this is a really good bakery spot. I love the dumplings they offer as well as their other items. They have reasonably priced items that taste really good as well. I definitely recommend getting their siu mai and sesame balls! read more

Our usual go to places for food for my family and I whenever we're in Mississauga. If you're in love with dim sum and want to steam some at home youself I would definitely recommend this place. It's a small little restaurant. I went on a weekday, they were really busy with take out orders and walk ins with people getting their frozen dim sums. The only downside is they no longer have dine in available which is fine, I usually just take it to go and either eat in the car or find a park nearby. The prices have gone up a little bit over the years but that's normal with previous pandemic and inflation. It's still decent. I would say it's still the cheapest and most affordable dim sum place you can find in the area. They have the usual shrimp dumplings, siu mais, sticky rice with pork, bbq buns and plenty of other variety. We got quite a bit for lunch and also picked up some frozen ones so I can get my dim sum fixed at home. Hands down, I would be back when I run out of frozen dim sum even if it means driving 1.5 hrs to get here. read more

There is an assortment of dim sum here: suimai, dumplings, BBQ pork buns... It seems they are essentially frozen but can be warmed up for you. The fact that it wasn't fresh was quite evident, more so than expected. I felt like we could have warmed them up at home and it might have tasted fresher. We also had to wait quite awhile for the food to be prepared. This might a good option if you need something quick, really don't want to do it yourself, and order ahead. Otherwise, you may be better off just grabbing the frozen stuff and preparing it at home. read more

If you are craving the dim sum served at buffets, this is your go to without commitment to a food coma. So it has been on my list to visit because it's cheap. I tried a few dishes and confirmed this is the pre made commercial dim sum. The Vietnamese operators speak english and re happy to serve the items to you hot or frozen. Items are served with cutlery so you can eat take out from your car all you want. No dine in, take out. read more

Inexpensive dim sum option (takeout only). Tip: Call ahead and place order as they are made to order.

Happy Dim Sum is my new favourite dim sum place. I love their steamed shrimp rice rolls, eggs tarts and this fried cake. The fried cake is similar to radish cake, but this one is without radish. It is fried with egg, and the cake is savoury; you can eat it by itself or with hot/soy sauce. Super cheap dim sum but also really tasty! You could also buy frozen products to steam at home. read more

First time to visit the store but found out Takeout only. No sitting. Don't come if you plan to dinner in.

I found this place for dim sum for Chinese New year via Yelp. It's a great find. There was a lineup out the door. It was a bit confusing because only one person was allowed in the store at a time and the order forms were inside. I ordered shrimp dumplings, shrimp and pork shu mai (interesting they had variety of diff shu mai!), Fried shrimp dumplings, shrimp rolls, chicken feet, taro buns, shrimp spring rolls, seasame balls... Need I say more... There was so many options! The prices were pretty amazing for 2.50-3$ for most the dishes. They seem to be very busy with takeout and it makes sense. Cheap and yummy and loads of fried foods. Mhmmm.... read more

It was quick and easy. Looked up the menu on Yelp called in to to place my order. Ordered Sunday lunch for me and two colleagues, 15 items for $43! What a steal! Will def come back again to try the rest of the menus! The ladies were so nice. 20 minutes for hot delicious dim sum! Wish I got a picture of all the food! read more

This place has pretty good dim sum, especially for the price! It's definitely better than ready to go dim sum from the grocery store. Came here during COVID for take-out and they have a table outside with order sheets and mark up to submit when you're ready. They take payment right away and your phone number to call you when it's done. Be sure to write your phone number on the sheet yourself so they don't get the wrong number - this happened to me and I ended up waiting a lot longer than needed. Favourites were the steamed shrimp dumplings, fried shrimp balls, and chao chow fried cake. read more

Because of the pandemic, my favorite dim sum places have shut down. The experience of ordering dim sum from cards or off a menu at a restaurant is just no longer possible with covid going around. With another variant going around, I wasn't about to wait until the end of the pandemic to get my dim sum fixed. And that's why I decided to come here so I can make my own dim sum. They have a decent selection of frozen dim sum here. All the usuals, such as shrimp dumplings, sumai, potstickers, lotus wrapped rice, and barbecue pork buns are all available frozen. The first time I came here, I grabbed a bunch of those and I was rather satisfied. On my second visit, I decided to try the stuff hot. However, I wasn't too impressed with some of the items that are only available prepared instead of frozen. The rice noodle roll was thick and sticky and kind of dry. The stuff that was available Frozen were about the same quality as if I had just steamed it up myself. The other prepared only options that actually impressed me was the rice cakes which was absolutely delicious, and the pork and ancient egg congee which actually used big pieces of pork. In conclusion, the frozen menu is great and can substitute for many of the prepared items, but definitely don't miss out on the fried rice cakes! read more

Happy Dim Sum provides good dim sum at a very low price point. The sticky rice with pork was quite yummy. The very small shrimp/pork sui mai and small shrimp with chives dumplings tasted good. Service was good. Seating is limited to 6 tables which accommodates almost 40. The decor could use a lot lot of improvement. The "hole in the wall" description by other Yelp reviewers is accurate. Happy Dim Sum is recommended for those looking for great dim sum value. read more

I found out about Happy a few years ago when my friend brought us after a night out. Now Happy has been a weekend breakfast/lunch/brunch option for many people. Happy is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant where only locals would know about and it is THE best and cheapest dim sum restaurant in the GTA and you can take my word for it. There's really nothing else to add but where else can you find fresh and tasty large 4 piece shrimp dimpling for $2.50?! The best part about happy is that they do not cheap out in the size of the dishes considering the price. read more

This place is amazing! Very affordable dim sum, came out to ~$27 for 8 dishes which is a really good deal. Ordered a variety of dishes and everything was really yummy except for the soup dumplings, which didn't really have soup in it (haha). They also sell uncooked dim sum so you have an option of cooking it at home. Will definitely come back again. read more

Been recommended by a few people to check this place out. Just so happened to be passing by that area so dropped by! Came on a sat late afternoon and it was still really busy. The shop itself doesn't look nice. Run down but didn't stop people from coming. It was busy, and there was a line up. I thought the line up was the line. You had to be at the front to get a number and a menu to order ahead of time. I think we only waited for about 30 mins and had to squish with a random group. We didn't mind this we just wanted food lol. Everything came out in a timely manner. I enjoyed all the dishes we had. Only thing that was different to me was the shrimp and pork siu Mai. I can't explain it. Tastes different from what I'm used to. Oh. Another thing that was different was the fried taro rolls. I was expecting it to be puffy?? It was in a form of a spring roll which I didn't like. Along with the shrimp spring rolls. The wonton version is better. Generally everything else was really good. I believe this place is cash only. I liked this place, I would come back. read more

On our last day in Toronto we decided to grab dim sum for the last time before heading to the airport. We found this place near by and decided to try it out. The name of the store says bakery, but they have a handful selection that are self serve that you can purchase like dan ta etc. The nice thing about this place is that you can order your items and they come out fresh vs. carts going around. I noticed lot of people would come in and purchase big bags of frozen ha cao or shu mai etc to take home. Those are sold in larger quantities like 20 or 50 pcs which would be nice to have in the freezer... Too bad I don't live near there. The interior of the place... Well, it's more of a whole in the wall. It can definitely use a face lift and a good scrub down. They do offer seating and when we got there on a Saturday morning around 11:30am, we had couple parties in front of us waiting. Since the place is a bit tight, you may be sitting next to someone else. They do a pretty good job packing everyone in and seemed to accommodate larger parties as well. Kinda reminded me of being in Asia. The food for me I would say was definitely a 2 or 3 stars. My son wanted regular plain soy sauce, but they said the only sauce they had was the one on the table which to me tasted like the usually shrimp noodle sauce+sesame oil? We ate it fine, but my son ended up not eating anything. Overall the servers are very efficient at getting people seated and fed. I'm not for sure, but I didn't see a credit card machine and everyone seemed to pay in cash. Luckily, I had some Canadian dollars left that I was able to use to pay for our food. read more

I used to like this place. They steam up prepared frozen food which is okay but now I prefer to buy it and steam it myself. The place is a hole in the wall but it is not very clean so i had to close my eyes and ignore it. The woman has no personality and is rude at times. I havent been there in a few years read more

Another cheap find! This place is my go-to dimsum in Mississauga. They have a good selection and you order from a piece of paper, just like any other dimsum places. There are pictures on the wall behind their cash register so you can get the idea of what is what, very useful! The price is pretty affordable, around $2 - $3/ dish depends on what you order. It can be very busy during lunch time, holidays and weekends. Sitting space is limited. The wait time can be ridiculous sometimes. If you're looking for a place to eat during the weekend morning or holiday and you're very hungry, this place should not be your top choice. The service is great enough for such a hole-in-a-wall. Both 2 ladies are nice and friendly. Keep in mind that English is not their first language, so please be understanding and be patient with them. Don't let its low-scale look deceive you. The food is amazing. The restaurant is overall clean. The service is great. They also have frozen dim sum in bulk. Cash only tho! read more

We are trying this new dim sum place based on an October 4,2018 article in the Mississauga News titled "5 Dim Sum Restaurants to try in Mississauga"; listed as #2. I can confirm this place is small, has a causal atmosphere with about seating for 42 people and total at 6 tables. It can get very cosy sitting with other customers at your table; 8 chairs but maybe should be only 6. Our wait was 10 minutes as the place was packed. Quick and friendly service. There's a variety of dim sum options from an order sheet you're given to speed up your wait time. Dumplings are freshly made onsite. Prices range from as low as $2.00 to a high of $3.50 for chicken wings. These are great prices food quality is good! You can also purchase bulk frozen dim sum items or bakery to take home. I/we will be back. read more

This is hands down my favourite dim sum place. My family has been getting take out from here for years and just recently started to dine in. The in house experience makes me love this place even more. If you like dim sum, you have to come eat here. The shop is pretty small and fills up quick so you gotta come here early or during slow hours when people don't generally eat lol. However, if you do come here during peak hours, the wait isn't too long. They even give you the ordering sheet so you can decide on what you want while you're waiting. It's worth it too because the food is so good, fresh, and cheap. Almost all the dishes are $2 for the same portion size and quality as other dim sum places - such a good deal!!! My favourite dishes: steamed shrimp dumplings, pork suimai, chicken feet, beef tripe, bean curd pork roll, steamed rice noodle with shrimp, shrimp spring roll, and sticky rice with pork. read more

Good place, reasonable pricing. Takes time but looked like they are better known for frozen dumplings and dim sum.

It does the trick if you're looking to quickly fill up on carbs and canola oiled filled cooking. Ordered a bunch of take out har gow, shiu mai, chicken feet, pork buns, shrimp rice rolls. Those shrimp rice rolls were so oily and doughy that I felt sick for the next day and a half. It literally just bloats your belly. It's a cheap eat and that's what you get. read more

Do you just wish your friends "Happy Birthday" and not get them anything at all, not even a card, to save money? Do you not go to funerals of said dear departed friends because you don't want to waste money on flowers? Basically, are you a CHEAPSKATE?! Well, this is the place for you, jerks!!! The dim sum here is pretty good, but the main thing is, it's like half price! Seriously! Just look at pictures of the menus! Alright, they don't have everything they got at bigger and better places, like durian tarts or deep fried taro dumplings, but hey, what did you expect? The place looks like a public washroom, and is the size of one too!! I'd say, the dimsum costs 50% less than at other places, but it doesn't TASTE 50% worse. More like it tastes 75% as good, at 50% of the price. That's a +25% gain on the bang-for-your-buck meter!!! Not bad! Well, it gets super busy here. People are mostly lining up to get their takeout or massive bags of frozen dimsum, so service is uhh.. well, they aren't gonna notice you. They are friendly though. Just don't expect service or ambience. Remember, you're a Cheapskate, you don't need that crap! read more

Questionable area of the city in a dumpy strip plaza? Check. Outdated, '80s donut joint feel? Check. Dim sum from the freezer? NO! It's true that there's no "dim sum" experience, re: no carts, no cart pushers who call out their offerings in Cantonese, no hustle or bustle. However, the price reflects this - there is no tax/tips. The max. price that I saw for a dish was $2.50, so it's really reasonable. I don't like dim sum carts 'cause I KNOW that things on there aren't necessarily fresh and re-steamed, re-fried, and re-heated in some other way. So I actually prefer the ordering sheet method, especially for places with less turnover. They also sell freshly baked Chinese buns that are ~$0.65. I knew they were fresh 'cause there was condensation inside of the clear baggie. Based on the atmosphere, I expected re-heated pre-frozen dishes, but instead they were all made in-house. The Chinese meatballs had a softer texture, the ha gow wrapping was more supple, and the shrimp stuffing wasn't as tough/tight. So I was pretty impressed with the quality of food at this place. Would I piss here? Not unless I was desperate! Update: My mom said she had diarrhea after eating here. I was ok though. read more

#cheap #dimsum #mississauga #food Okay, quick version: quality dim sum, very cheap, family run business, no ambiance, opens early, communal tables. Long version: -came across this place on Yelp and it used to be called Jade Dim sum which relocated to Queensway. -the new owners are using newer tables and keep it cleaner than the old owners. Family run because you see the daughter bringing out dishes -most items are $1.80 to $2.00. This is extremely cheap as the grocery stores are now around $2.20 to $3 for dim sum. -it is more like an old food court setting We ordered pork siu mai, bean curd roll, Shanghai soup dumplings and preserved egg and pork congee. Total price incl tax: $9.40. The siu mai and bean curd roll were delish. The congee tasted good but didn't have a lot of meat. The Shanghai soup dumplings were okay but not even close to the specialized places. Overall, I'm a fan of this place for quick good cheap dim sum. read more

Super cheap. Super good. Super quick. This place is a small family owned and run restaurant. The building itself and interior do look old and run down but it still has a Green Pass from the Health Inspectors so that means it is good enough for me. The moment you walk in you order from the sheets and the food comes out quick. Each dish was $1.80 and probably costs less than making it yourself...well maybe. They have pictures of every dim sum dish on the walls in case you need to know what they look like. When I ate here, the lady was really nice to us and gave us great service. All of the dishes were fresh and super hot when it reached our table. Definitely a great place for hangover dim sum! I must warn everyone though, do not come here for the looks of the restaurant. Come here for the Food only and you will leave with a smile and more money in your pocket compared to other dim sum places. read more

So, on my last review of Pukka I brought up how GTA is full of self proclaim foodie with emphasis on trend ( without substance ) Happy Dim sum will not doing well for many of these snobs, because the place looks like an extra large washroom, but if you can pass the pretense and taste the food, then it's a great dim sum spot, cheap and tasty. No mid century décor or trip hop soundtrack, just a plain open space that serve good dim sum. HEY if Gordon Ramsey doesn't mind going to India and visit some hole on the wall spot in some crazy busy market for good eating... then you should feel ok coming here. Here's the thing ...after going to some fancy looking trendy restaurants, full of trendy people and lawyers etc, paying some cash and got less than expected, I think it's more honest to come to a place like this. We have a choice: A. Go to cool place looking at good looking people pay $100 got $20 worth of taste or.. B. Go to a hole, looking at some basic tables, pay $30 and got $80 worth of taste, ( if this place is on Queen West with nice furniture and dimmed lights, it will be the $80 price range ) read more

I don't know, I'm still a bit on the fence about this restaurant. It used to be Jade Dim Sum Bakery up until about nine or so months ago. At first when Happy Dim Sum opened, the lady that used to take our orders was very friendly but now there's some new woman who (like most Mississauga joints) is quite rude; hence, no matter how reasonable the prices are, it's hard to deal with that level of customer service. Prior to the rude woman, we went maybe once or so every two weeks for take-out. We would order rice noodles with barbeque pork - I think it was less than $2 for three pieces and it was so delicious. The steamed shrimp dumplings were a little on the pasty side but well-flavored. Very tasty spring rolls and steamed pork dumplings. Everything was always fresh but, in all our visits, we were never given chopsticks or any additional sauces but, for the money, you can't really complain. It's also cash only. Just note that this place is not the cleanest ... think Chinatown. read more

Went to get frozen dim sum. Very well priced and good quality. Crab claws were a highlight. The crystal skinned type dumplings were good. Nice and chewy but a little too thick. Siu mais as you'd expect from a decent place. Beef balls, and curry oct also good. Lo mai gai had decent amount of filling. Nothing was amazingggg but nothing was disappointing either. Quality vs price was *more* than fair. I also appreciated their Covid safety protocol for their customers. Only 1 person allowed in store at a time, you can't enter past the front. Make your order at the door and they bring it to you. Will definitely be coming here for more frozen take out until we can safety dine out again :( read more
