Can't miss that smell lol, always had fresh fish from here. Staff are usually attentive , prices are pretty good. No complaints.

This is a review for the seafood market (separate from their restaurant). I was thoroughly surprised coming in here of the vast selection! They had fish from all over, cavier, and accompanying foods like crackers, olive oils, and more! They had a bunch of free samples when I was there (olive oil with fresh bread, chips, etc.) pricing seemed quite fair and the fish better quality than the grocery store! I purchased a mackerel and some cheap cavier (not the real stuff but they do sell that for $89 if you want it). When I got to the till, the lady on checkout advised they have a complementary fish cleaning service! What a bonus! Overall I was very happy with what I made for dinner and I will be returning for some more fish in the future! read more

Diana's Seafood is a great specialty grocer conveniently located on Lawrence avenue, with plenty of parking space and a restaurant steps away from the fresh seafood market. The market itself is my go-to for fresh seafood in the area, the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, and the selection is plentiful. Diana's is known to be the supplier for many local seafood restaurants, and I've seen many oyster crates labeled with the unmistakable 'Diana's Seafood' logo being brought into some of my favorite buck-a-shuck establishments. I really enjoy strolling through the market, and the staff are always very happy to help with recipe/serving suggestions. I appreciate that the store also contains anything that you may need to put together a proper seafood meal, from pastas, sauces, sauces, and more! read more

Not Bad but Not that Great. I'm probably the last person in Toronto to try this restaurant but here goes ! Started off with the Lychee Martini which was honestly one of the best I've had in the city . The malpeque oysters were Fresh & yummy but they're just oysters, so if that's all you're going for, you won't be disappointed . After seeing multiple hot entrees pass by my table , I settled on the seafood trio . I was expecting to be BLOWN AWAY with flavour and freshness but this plate didn't even give a slight breeze ‍. Wow! Every piece of seafood was under-seasoned and bland , I mean I could even taste the "butter " they claimed to have put on it . I had specifically asked for them to grill the items in garlic butter but after tasting what was in my plate , I would have settled for just some salt ! On the upside, the fries were good . The service was mediocre at best . Staff wasn't the most welcoming, everyone just seemed to be run down and tired . The ambiance was that of a diner or roadhouse , if you will. I went back a second time to see if I'd have better luck , maybe if I order another dish?! Nope . Even the seafood pasta (/with saffron cream sauce) was underwhelming. I took my leftovers home, added some OLD BAY seasoning and chilli flakes and that brought the pasta to life . The food would be good if they just seasoned it. Also the staff seem as if they're just over their jobs and can't really stand the customers anymore The drinks , fries oysters were good tho ! I'd go back for those (if I were in the area) . read more

Great selection but did not feel like paying $99 per pound for king crab legs. I mean they are delicious but $99 per pound is prohibitively costly. One leg was $123. read more

Definitely worth the drive. Bought so much seafood for under 100 bucks. Line was quick and they have so much seafood to choose from. I've bought a box of Beau Soleil Oysters, Malpeque Oysters, 2lbs clams and 2lbs of mussels, cocktail sauce, horse radish, oyster knife for under 100 bucks! That is AMAZING. There was so much oysters to share. The Beau Soleil was a bit sweet but still delicious. The malpeque oysters were absolutely delicious. There was so much packed in that small box and enough to share between 4 people! Their 2.99 cocktail sauce is absolutely delicious. It had a nice spice and packed with horseradish in it already. Squirt a lemon with tabasco sauce and the oysters were absolutely amazing. I can't wait to get some more seafood and try the king crab! Prices are amazing and affordable. read more

I went to the store. I bought Tuna salad, clam salad, swirl salmon and New England clam chowder. They are very good. I will definitely come back to shop again. Hopefully I want to take out foods from the restaurant. read more

I come last night around 9 pm with my family . I was hoping to have some nice seafood appetizer like grilled calamari and octopus . instead waiter offer to get seafood platter . when I got it I was very disappointed. 1 . Ahi tuna - was cold not freshly prepared 2. Grilled calamari - cold , burned . 3. Grilled octopus - cold , burned. 3. Crab cakes - cold , overcooked , didnt taste like crab meat at all . 4. 2 pc shrimps was ok 5. Mix greens was old with yellow leaves . Price 42 $ Just shame to served this quality of food . Everything was so bad , basically not possible to eat at all . If you don't know how to make properly why you open restaurant and poisoning people and take their $$ ? read more

After years of shopping at various fish markets in Toronto (and one terrible experience shopping for fish in Vaughan.) I will say, hands down, Diana's Seafood Delight is the cleanest, most affordable, freshest fish market you will ever go to. They have a rotating cast of oysters from the Atlantic to Japan, and the last time I went there were 13 varieties. The organic salmon is gorgeous, but since you have to buy the entire fish, and salmon are really big, I've not purchased it yet. The Sea Bass, Mackerel , and Tuna are my staples. They have fresh scallops in their shells, and multiple sizes and varieties of shrimp, and clams, and the calamari will run you only two or three dollars. They produce and sell the packaged seafood salad often sold in grocery stores, and supply many of Toronto's well known restaurants. As far as price...they treat you right. I saw sushi grade tuna on sale at a rival gourmet grocer for $13 more a pound than Diana's, and the one at Diana's is surely fresher. read more

I made it back here just wanting to try out their newly opened restaurant. I was here early so wanted to visit the old favorite and wanted to see anything has changed. Not much you still get to see the oysters galore at decent prices. Lots of options of for fish and shell fish. Some accessories and condiments. Prices can be good depending on what is on sale. Some interesting items were the soups some hard to find items and my favorite sashimi grade tuna. Great and dependable as always now if they were in a more accessible location by TTC. read more

With what's happening, I'm glad Diana's Seafood was still opened. We decided to drop by to get some goodies. The seafood store is behind their restaurant. We found parking and walked right in. They got 2 doors, go for the one on the left. Once inside this place is a big fish monger. All sorts of fresh seafood everywhere on ice and in fridge. Plus they got dried goods too. For seafood related meals, they are quite well stock. We got some mussels and Manila clams. Both are fresh and juicy. The employees are helpful and friendly. We will come back to grab other stuff. read more

Definitely the spot to go to if you want good oysters in the gta. They have a huge variety of fresh oysters to choose from but my recommendation is to go on a Tuesday wednesday or Thursday night. On Tuesdays and wednesdays they have 50 oysters for $50. And on Thursdays they have special prices for malpaque, fanny bays, kusshi, and acadian gold by the dozen. The oysters come with fresh grated horseradish, lemon wedges and 3 condiments (cocktail sauce, chili sauce, and vinegrette). Besides oysters they also serve a lot of other seafood dished. We ordered a few sides, but really the main thing to go for is the oysters. Also, I've been here a few times but never bothered with dessert. This time we tried a couple and they are surprisingly well made and delicious. Overall expect to spend a lot of money but no surprise since its seafood and a delightful treat. read more

For fresh and good quality seafood, this is your place! After buying salmon at other grocery stores and having the skin always full of scales we have decided to come here from now on. They clean the fish way better! The only negative is there is a very rude older lady that works in the whole fish area. Seeing someone asking for help she just looked at us and ignored us even though she was the closest one to us another lady came to help. Tip: Bring cash to tip if you want your fish cleaned/cut up. read more

I'm bringing my review down a couple notches. Because while Diana's is still my go to for fresh quality oysters and raw seafood (sweet shrimps and sashimi grade tuna) I have found some things to be lacking from my last 7-10 trips/purchases particularly regarding the oysters. Price - prices for oysters have gone up considerably. You used to get some oyster varieties for 50 or 60 bucks a box (typically 5 doz) but now the same oyster varieties cost 80 bucks or more. Quality - oysters from the box usually come in a day or two before I pick them up in store. They're always harvested fresh from what I see...I've experienced an increase in the number of dead and dry oysters resulting fewer oysters from the box that can be consumed. Selection - Diana's has been pushing out some varieties they used to carry and now there are more of their brand oysters. Which I have tried and found to be or lower quality. Lucky 88 oysters have always been their brand of west coast but the torpedo bay, for example are new and they are the skinniest not meaty west coast oysters I've ever tried. I honestly think they are a east coast species being grown in the Pacific. Even the lucky 88's have been smaller vs before. I cant say I wont go to Diana's because it's in the east end, which I frequent...and for boxes of oysters, (particularily west coast ones) they're basically my only option for getting them conveniently. But I hope they can clean up their quality control and get things back to what they were a few years ago. read more

All seafood was super fresh and on point! Grilled octopus, tuna tartare and clam chowder did not disappoint. The Malpecs they served were some of the best raw oysters I've had--Fanny Bays came in a close second. Smoked salmon linguine was very tasty but the clam linguine was definitely my favourite! The combination of perfectly brined fresh clams, bacon bits and lemony white wine sauce was pure bliss. Service was great and the atmosphere brought me back to memories by the seaside...Overall gave a great dining experience. Will be back for more! read more

Excellent service, they have so much selection of fish (all dead, unlike the typical Chinese markets) but they'll help you remove skins of the fish at the checkout. Why buy oysters at a restaurant for $3 each when you get get them here for under $1? This place is seafood heaven. They have at least 20 types of oysters at all times. You can buy all of them per dozen: however, some oysters you can get in a box of 50 or 100 for even cheaper! We bought a box of 50 PEI oysters for $48.88. The oyster shucking knives are only $4.99 and work like a charm. I got the small black one with the plastic guard and didn't have any trouble opening all 50 in one sitting. The guys who run this place are very welcoming and friendly, not to mention, knowledgable. Ask them anything and they will have an answer! Also, if you like hot sauce, the Diana's seafood hot sauce is BOMBtastic. read more

We got a box of oysters, maybe 88 of them? Probably my boyfriend counted wrong, and it's like 90 or 100. The shucking tool worked quite well since he opened all the oyster shells by himself. I think the quality of the oysters were okay, I feel like restaurant-prepped oysters have a better taste. I'm just going to assume that my boyfriend didn't wash them as well as the chefs who work in seafood restaurants lol. Anyhow, I think the price is quite fair, it was less than $1 per oyster. This is my 2nd time trying Diana's oysters and I'm willing to do it once more. I probably would go with my boyfriend next time to ask the store on recommendations for preparation and toppings to really enhance the experience. read more

I'm still not sure why people choose to spend so much money here. I've shopped at Diana's intermittently over a few decades and have never really been very impressed. I find their price point high for the quality of seafood you get. When I used to live in Woodbridge, there were a few other seafood depots that served up comparable quality seafood at half the price. Not that price should really be a deciding factor when you're talking about fresh seafood but I find it irksome that people blindly trust shops like this to carry the best just because they charge top dollar. I've bough fish, oyster, lobsters...etc and they've all been ok. Not outstanding. Now that I'm older and more discerning, I'd rather spend my money in specialty shops that do a few things really well, like Star Lobster and Taro's fish. So good-bye, Diana's. I'm moving on to greener pasture. read more

Diana's Seafood - So good! - Seafood Markets Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

We've been here multiple times and their seafood has never failed to impress. The fish is always fresh and you can get it cleaned and tidied up after you pay, on the side. The people working behind the counters are always so helpful and informed about the seafood and what would be good pairings. They sell crab cakes uncooked and cooked ones, both for $3.75 each, although do keep in mind they are smaller than the ones they would serve you next door. They have a large, well-stocked variety of dried/shelf goods - canned soups, wasabi, hummus, caviar. Their fridges are stocked with oysters and clams usually by the 5 dozen, crab legs, stuffed crab shells, bags of frozen scallops, smoked salmon, etc. Typically, they have around a dozen types of oysters out, in addition to clams, sea urchins, and scallops out on the glass. Their prices are very, very reasonable in comparison with their restaurant next door. Their medium Fanny Bay (BC) was $15.99 per dozen today and another medium BC one was $22.99 per dozen. You can't just get one or two though, it's by the half dozen, which /can/ be a little hard if you only have one or two at the table. Nonetheless, one of the best seafood markets I've ever been to - reasonable prices, excellent stock, and always fresh! read more

When i want good seafood I make the trip to Diana's Seafood from my home in Uxbridge. Last week, I was in the market for FRESH tuna. What i found were tuna bits and pieces tucked away staff side. When i asked for tuna the response was "this tuna is for cooking". Read between the lines: "this is not to be eaten raw as it is not the freshest" or "this is not sushi grade tuna". i also took home PEI mussels and cooked them for the most disappointing dinner that night. Tiny, oh so tiny were those mussels. Were they harvested and left too long in their shelves where they literally starved until I bought them? Must say, this pandemic has LONG reaching fingers. From tuna to mussels and willingness of reputable establishments to push the "freshness" envelope while maintaining high quality prices. 'Tis a fine line peeps! read more

This family business sells amazing seafood from oysters, mussels, lobster, and a wide variety of fish. Make sure you check their website for weekly specials and call to reserve so you don't miss out. There were several times that I didn't find the oysters or mussels I wanted for my meal and had to buy the next best thing. The sell seafood at a reasonable price while supplying many restaurants across the city. New shipments are received twice a week for freshness (I believe Monday and Thursdays). I usually buy these plus specialty items like scallop and uni. Definitely worth a try if you plan to have a party at home. They also have a restaurant next door which serve their fresh seafood. It's not too fancy but the food is worth a try if you are lazy to cook. They also participate at festivals selling their fresh oysters but I rather buy and shuck. read more

If your looking for oysters, this is your number one place to visit. Both the Malpeque and Fanny Bay oysters are amazing. The Fanny Bay ones are larger. I'd like to compare the taste of these oysters to jumping into the ocean. They are so fresh.
