The lady at the counter was so nice and helpful! Many thanks to her, she even brought my fish into my car, as I use crutch to walk. Recently my daughter went there and came with the same expression, first thing she said were good words about that nice lady . We also loved their gravlax, vodka smoked salmon and smelt fish. The only downside is the wet floor at the store read more

It is unfortunate that the owner has absolutely zero ability to provide decent customer service. He is rude and dismissive to customers who have questions on products and how to cook product. The product is amazing however the service is very disappointing, so much so that I would buy my fish elsewhere! read more

After taking a course on oyster shucking downtown with my daughter last year we hadn't put our new found super powers to use. We got a dozen of three different varieties and then spent New Year's Eve enjoying them. While I was there I also picked up some sashimi grade salmon and tuna which we had for New Year's Day. Oysters - Yum oh Sushi - Yum oh Service was really awesome. Staff was friendly and helpful. Absolutely would go back and it means I don't have to drive to Markham anymore for my sushi grade fish habit / problem / addiction ... read more

A pleasant drive North to Oak Ridges took me into this great shop. In search of quality wild fish, I found a great selection of it. Service was very friendly and helpful. Very clean. I will definitely return. read more

Amazing fish and great service! Bought the mahi mahi and clam chowder-both were excellent!

Fish is good. Service is not. I always feel like I'm bothering the owner just by being there. If you ask a question be prepared to feel stupid about it. I actually brace myself before going in. I've had enough of that place. The workers are quite pleasant just they owner is a dick. I'd rather drive to wholefoods or diana's. read more

Had the best salmon burgers!!! Made in store with memories and dill. Will definitely be buying again if they have them!!!

Ryan, Julie and the crew are the very best. Always the best fish products. Been a happy customer since day 1. If you love great fish and understand this is "way better" than the usual. This is the real deal. Pricing is more than fair for the quality, read more

Although the quality of fish/seafood is good, it doesn't exempt them from providing customer service. Now especially during covid-19, staff needs to polite & patient. I overheard a woman-worker ask a customer(father) to have his daughter ho wait outside; so she could get another 'buying' customer in faster. Ridiculous to ask a parent yo thtow their child outside to wait alone. I was shocked & it wiped away my prior opinions of this business. Rethink what your values are before shopping here. You may or may not feel welcomed. read more

Service is poor. Asked for advice on fish and taste and was treated like an outcast who did not deserve clarity. If you don't have 60 seconds to help a customer you don't deserve my business. I went to Diana's Seafood in Toronto for better service, quality and prices! read more

This is a fantastic place! I'm glad a fish market like this opened up close to home. They have a great selection of fresh and frozen fish, frozen meals ready to go and spices and sides. The staff are very knowledgable and can always recommend something. They are really friendly as well. Check out their freezer of ready to go fish. They carry pre-cooked beer battered haddock that is absolutely amazing. Great price as well. I hope this small business thrives in Oak Ridges! read more

This place is always busy. That have top notch seafood. They are friendly and have great suggestions.

Very clean, great selection of seafood. Found the staff to be engaging and helpful. Chose yellow fin tuna and gulf shrimp. Incredible quality Would highly recommend this store! read more

Excellent quality and variety fish and seafood ! Don't forget to check out frozen section! Very helpful staff. If you can afford it - that's the place to shop! read more

I still love these guys! They will do a better job preparing (descaling or cutting) your fish than any other fishmonger anywhere else. The fish is always fresh and the advice is great. read more

This is the place to go for fresh fish and seafood, forget the supermarket. Great selection great service great prices. Once you go there you will understand why. Also a great selection of frozen food as well. read more

For seafood lovers, this is kid in a candy store category. You just don't get this good produce in the north and i'm ecstatic that owner Ryan chose to open up here. With a 12 year background in food, he understands the importance of quality produce, and that's exactly what you get here. Large selection from branzino to octopus to oysters, all fish is either wild or organic. Also has an interesting selection of smoked fish and a few trading store items on shelf. If you were waiting for a neighbourhood fishmonger like i was - he's finally arrived. read more

I have been here a few times and always satisfied with the product. However, today I was made to feel bad for making a special request. Even though I was willing to be flexible and work within their limitations, I was made to feel like a jerk by the owner who wouldn't make eye contact and spoke over me to his associate. Poor customer service doesn't cut it with me and I am sorry I will not support your business as a result. Longo's has a great fish counter and they always appreciate my business. read more

Great seafood market ! stuff is very knowledgeable and ready to help with advice and even suggested to teach how to open Oysters, they cleaned and prepped our fish for us. we purchased some fish, great (!) shrimps and beautiful scallops Being Sunday the selection of fish was on the low side but definitely a place I will return to shop. read more

We have been eyeing this fish store for a few weeks....it is new in the neighbourhood, and much needed if I might say, and finally went in to purchase something for dinner. We came out of there with two lovely fresh tuna steaks and a box of fresh oysters. I can't say enough about the customer service, but the oysters and tuna were out of this world......thanks for the lovely (home cooked & cheap) meal we were able to make. We will definitely be back to try out more of their fish, you can count on that!!! Carol & Mike Shea King City, ON read more

Maybe I went in with too high expectations after reading all the rave reviews. I found service to be okay, seafood selection especially fish was good but not spectacular, I didn't find it much better than Longo's or other grocery stores. I was not offered to clean and cut the fish for me and I forgot to ask. Came home and struggle for an hour. read more

Needed to update this as I continue to be very impressed. Never been disappointed and expectations are always exceeded. Had some fantastic sword fish a couple of weeks ago. read more

Incredibly clean with an extraordinary selection of fresh and frozen fish. Staff are wonderful and happy to answer any questions. Been going for 5 years now and never disappointed. Top shelf. read more

This is my new go-to place for everything seafood; there is no longer a need to drive into Toronto for top-of-the-line fresh fish, and knowledgeable, friendly service. I have bought fish here now on more than 10 occasions over the past two months, and have yet to be disappointed. As mentioned in other reviews, there is also a very full line of frozen fish (the octopus, sturgeon and sardines were fabulous), condiments, smoked fish, spices - even saffron for the rouille for your bouillabaise! - oyster crackers, Acadian caviar....this is one stop shopping for anyone that likes fish, or wants to get to know fish - even the serious cook and fish lover will be thrilled. It is also a family-owned business. I cannot recommend this business too highly. While there, check out the new bakery next door! read more

This place is amazing. The selection of wild fish is vast, shrimps are from the Gulf and there are frozen shrimps from Cuba (shrimps from India, Indonesia, Thailand, China are all full of carcinogenics, antibiotics and fed chicken feces). This market has a great selection of Oysters and Clams and they even sell fresh horseradish. The whole fish selection is great too and they will clean or filet if you would like. I've been turned off eating fish unless from a reputable resto that knows where their fish is coming from. This is limited to a few resto dtown. So this fish market is amazing. I can enjoy cooking fish at home knowing it is safe for my body. The owner is amazing and will answer any questions you have. read more

Best Fresh fish in Richmond Hill. Do yourself a favor and buy your fish here and not a grocery store. I've had organic salmon, Arctic char, local trout...never been disappointed. Ryan is great and you can see he understands customer service. read more

I come here on occasion. Fish and raw oysters are fresh but very expensive. I've purchased oysters, salmon, Chilean sea bass, halibut in the past. The service is non-existent and not friendly at all. Never fails, every visit. It's unfortunate. I would shop here more often if they were nicer. read more

Great service, and friendly staff. Great selection of fresh seafood items. I love everything about this place.

Awesome place. Fresh fish and very helpful staff.

The seafood is fresh, the selection plentiful. Been going since they opened and never disappointed.

Was about to head down to Diana's (which on a good day is already a trek) but found out it was the annual street festival with road closures. Luckily I checked Google and found Off the Hook! Really surprised to find an amazing fresh fish market in Oak Ridges with so much variety! It was very nice and clean, the staff was helpful and the variety and quality impressive. Hard part was deciding what to get with so much choice. read more

I had a terrible experience at this store and shared my story with everyone I know !!. This place doesn't deserve your hard earned money as the owner have no integrity with the customers! I came to this store with my young child after reading all the positive reviews and ended up buying some fish. The service was ok, but not great. After returning home and checking my bill, I realized that I was overcharged by a significant amount given the weight shown on the receipt. I was distracted by my kid and didn't check the receipt at the store.. I returned to the store immediately and asked the person at the cashier (i.e. a wife of the owner) to doubt check the weight and adjust the price accordingly. I could not believe how rude, disrespectful and condescending she was after I questioned the bill! Instead of apologizing for a mistake made, she made me feel like I don't understand anything and don't speak good English! I asked for my money back and she agreed to a refund asking me if I want to speak to her husband (i.e. the owner of the sore). I was in a rush to leave after such a poor treatment and had no desire to speak to him. That moment, the owner approached me quite aggressively and start screaming at me "get out of my store and never come back!" He was so rude, belligerent and very aggressive! I was in disbelieve that he acted like this in front of his 13-14 year old son who was working at that store! How terrible is that! I shared this story with many people, and wrote a complain to the better business bureau. read more
