    Burrata

The food here is pretty good, the vibes were chill and servers were nice. The place is a but dark and kinda small with not much seating. We got the fish and chips, oxtail risotto and burrata. Everything was super delicious, fish and chips were light crispy not soggy at all, risotto was super creamy and flavourful with the oxtail, burrata was also very tasty. Will definitely come here again to check out their other items on the menu.

Made a reservation here for my dad's bday. It took a while to get seated, however, we did arrive a tad early for our reservation. Once seated, you have to scan a QR code for the menu (would have preferred paper menus). The vibes of the dining room were the study of an interesting and worldly person, with a cozy decor, bookcases and fishing decor (but a modern touch). The food we ordered was on the smaller size for portion size however the food was delicious. The server was nice and was able to provide a dessert free of charge for my dad. We will be coming back here for sure! (P.S. 2 for 1 oysters on Wednesdays!)

Wow where can i even start? Honestly was looking for a place for my girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. This place knocked it out of the park. The atmosphere and vibes were amazing! The staff was extremely kind/friendly and our waiter was just soo funny and entertaining but attentive as well. Food was delicious as well - the oysters were really fresh, clam chowder was soo good and not too heavy/thick, recommend the ox tail risotto and i loved their twist to their broccoli dish! I will definitely come back

Tasty food, good quality, pricey but worth it. My wife and I had lunch here and got: - Molasses Bread: OMG this alone would make me come back! The bread is homemade goodness, while the miso flavour of the butter really differentiates it. - Grilled Octopus: Octopus is a great test of how good a restaurant does seafood. Eastside Social kills it - great grill and char, with the meat ever-so-tender. Only downside is the portion size is really small for the price. - Fish and Chips: Haddock is meaty and the batter coating is tasty and not overly thick. Fries are thick and on the right side of saltiness, and the slaw is sweet and refreshing. Only quibble is I would have liked two pieces of fish for the price. - Mussell Frites: Undisputed star of the meal. Mussels were fresh and plentiful and perfectly cooked (not rubbery at all). The sauce was amazing (white wine that was spiced up with garlic and chili flakes). And of course, those yummy fries again. - Eastside Mess: Perfect capper to the meal, this dessert is summer on a plate. The lemon curd is properly sour, the berries are properly fresh, the meringue chunks add a pop of texture and sweetness, and the chantilly cream finishes it off. Service is quick and friendly, with great suggestions. Overall, Eastside Social was an absolute delight.

Staying in a different part of Toronto we weren't as familiar with the food scene so we checked out the list of hot restaurants East of Toronto I think he TO blog and that's how we found Eastside Social. The interior makes you feel like you're at a comfortable dinner party at a close friends house and our waiter made us feel equally at home. He didn't introduce himself but from what others have posted I'm assuming it was Marty. Wisecrackingly funny and engaging! We started with two delicious cocktails - the salty dog and dill on dill - both were outstanding but I wanted to bathe in the dill on dill. Despite some other reviews saying the calamari was salty we decided to give it a try - DO IT!! Best calamari I've ever had! Marty said the trick is potato starch! Light and perfectly cooked- we asked for a wedge of lemon that cut the saltiness a bit . We split the fish tacos - unlike any fish taco we've had before ... again super light and fluffy ... and the ahi tuna on the crisp rice cake! Outstanding! 4 stars instead of 5 as we felt a bit forgotten once we ordered drinks and rushed when they brought the calamari... timing in service/kitchen seems way off - people eating their calamari before we even ordered got their mains AFTER we were done with ours. Our mains came as we were just tucking into the calamari But the food and ambiance = 5

    Chowder and Donair to go

Once again another excellent meal served by amazing staff! Menu has changed. Some new items like the East Side Mess dessert. Berries, meringue and a creamy deliciousness! So freaking delicious! Donairs are now a lunch only option. Sad face. Steak done to perfection. Clam chowder was yum! Beet salad to go, for lunch tomorrow. And Marty was here tonight. Crazy funny guy! Love him!

Grilled octopus, a bit on the salty side.

Came here while I was visiting a friend in Toronto. This was a very cute pub. We ordered the fillet "Oh" fish sandwich which was excellent then we had the burger was very good and filling. However the clam chowder was meh, very watery and not a lot of clams. The grilled octopus was salty but had a nice char to it. Next time I visit I'd order the fish sandwich again.

It was kinda fancy, but the interior was kinda tight... not worth the prices. The potato's that came with brunch were delicious!!!

We were greeted at the door right away :) Our server was friendly and courteous; he looked European, which always throws me off at a Japanese restaurant lol. The ambiance was cozy and the paper umbrellas hung on the ceiling was a beautiful touch! We shared a few items, and the food portions were quite good: Curry Udon with Shrimp (you can get Chicken or Tofu as well) - I really enjoyed the curry, not too spicy but very flavouful. The shrimp was actually crispy battered shrimps, and they were good! Champon Noodles - I always thought this dish was actually Korean, but I guess not lol. It is a seafood mix with noodles in a buttery, creamy broth. Initially, it did not look to appetizing but it was quite tasty. Fruit Sake Flight - For 22$, we opted in for this sake flight, comes in 4 mini sake cups. We tried the Lavender Ume, Sanzen Yuzu, Nashi Pear and Momo Peach. I personally really liked the pear and the yuzu one :)

This must be the place!…read more Our first trip to Toronto and boy did we have fun. From delicious food to sipping wine, and everything in between, Toronto was a city to explore. Ladybug Wine Bar is a cute but also sophisticated wine bar located on King Street, steps away from shopping and restaurants. We stopped in here on a snowy Sunday before our flight home. They also serve Sunday Brunch. We grabbed a few open seats at the comfy bar. They do not offer wine flights, which made this experience pretty darn expensive but SOOOO worth it. We had such a fun time and the people working were so nice, we honeslty did not want to leave. They were willing to help with our selections. We actually ordered all their Reds by the glass. I know, but there were only about 6 and we had to try them all. I like to say "go big or go home" LOL! We loved almost all except for maybe a few. We ended up also ordering a charcuterie while we sip. And of course I brought a bottle home with me. If you are ever in Toronto, please check out Ladybug wine bar, it is fantastic, you won't want to leave. Cheers!

A Hidden Gem for Brunch!!…read more I came here with 3 of my girlies that love brunch. Everything we ordered was fresh, light, and absolutely delicious. We started with some drinks which were super affordable compared to other brunch places. The espresso martinis weren't too sweet and had the perfect balance. As for the dishes the standout for me was the smoked salmon toast. The combination of the eggs, fresh dill, and sliced salmon on top of toast was so yummy. Service was nice and the place was cozy/bright. Highly recommend this spot for a girls' brunch or casual date.
