This chocolate almond coffee cake is amazing
Tia M.

As a pastry chef myself I have to say the chocolate almond coffee cake was so good. I saw them take it out of a package which was a bummer but good none the less!!! Got the strawberry mango smoothie it's pleasant nice and tart!!! Service will have me returning! What a cute little spot! Clean and inviting atmosphere!!! They have a couple wraps on the menu but they appear to be breakfast. Maybe they will add lunch ones!!!!

16oz hot coffee

Pros: Affordable coffee the way you like it! Great place for studying, doing work, meeting with friends, or just having a relaxing cup of coffee! A decent amount of space in the cafe so you don't have to worry about being right next to someone. There are also outdoor tables for when the weather is nice! You also get one free regular coffee refill every visit. Cons: Tables and chairs/booths weren't incredibly dirty, but they could have been a little cleaner/cleaned more often. The bathroom also needs more frequent upkeep and cleaning. Suggestions: More options at the coffee-dressing bar would be nice (add soy milk, 2%, more flavor powders, etc.).

Iced vanilla coffee

The coffee was pretty good. The outside seating was a little all over the place and the traffic is very loud.

This is probably my favorite coffee shop in Jacksonville. If you're a lover of espresso then right off the bat you'll appreciate that the machines used here are the manual ones. When walking into a coffee joint that's one of the first things that I look for. Continuing my peek behind the counter, everything is clean and organized. Another plus. The staff is friendly, and very helpful. During a few visits here I've had some new employees serve me, and seem a little lost at times, but the other baristas work well and as a team and help each other out. That makes a huge difference. Every now and then I like to ask the barista helping me to recommend something or surprise me. I'm always please with what they make or create. PCJ offers free wifi, and it's fast! Very much appreciated when trying to get some work done. The seating area is very clean and well lit. You can find tables, chairs, couches, and booths. I love the wood paneled walls and the low toned colors. It's a great place to get some work done or just sit and catch up with a friend.

Microwaved breakfast sandwich

Coffee: taste-wise was okay. I got the house blend. The issue was it wasn't hot, just warm. Food: I got the breakfast sandwich with bacon. Just touching it you know it's microwaved. The English muffin was hot but not toasted and very soggy. The inside of the sandwich was also dripping with grease. Not very good, it was similar to a freezer Jimmy Deans. It was pretty cheap though, only like $3. Service: nice people and accommodating. Though I was one of three people in there. Most people seemed to use the drive thru. Ambience: probably it's saving grace. It's essentially just like a Starbucks. A few couches to relax and a nice station for you to put sugar, cream and other additives to your coffee. All in all, it's not a terrible place. I think the coffee not being hot was because I didn't go at a peak time. But it's in a decent location and isn't far behind from other coffee chains.

I had 4 shots and a BerryWhite. Purchased some syrups to use at MyLab "TheKnead" in SikestonMissouri. The staff was UberCool. I like this place ForReal. Wat else can I say to give a TopNotch review??? Excellence!!!

Really enjoyed our visit here. The service seemed a bit overwhelmed with the amount of people but once we received our drinks they were delicious. It's good to see local spots trying to compete with big companies like Starbucks.

Fast service, clean place, and friendly service. Plenty of tables, relatively quite, and well lite to study or ready.

A great perk for this place is free street parking right in front. The front entrance is in an old strip mall. The inside is well done. Plenty of seating throughout. There's a nice lounging area, outdoor seating, high top tables, large standard tables and a bar area. They have a fairly simple menu, but plenty of variety. They do offer alcohol, THC beverages, sodas, smoothies, and of course coffee. After a few minutes of looking over the menu we ordered a coupe of the artisan sandwiches, a couple coffees, and a slice of coconut cream cake! You order at the kiosk and they bring your food & beverages to you. After a nice wait (not too fast or long), our americano, latte, waters, The Rad sandwich, The Chrissy sandwich, with our sides of pasta and potato salad. The sandwiches were honestly the perfect size for us. Both sandwiches were great and the coffee was good. Initially I requested a red eye, but they were out of drip coffee. Not a big deal, the americano was good. The coconut cream cake was huge and delicious! Not sure, but I tasted a hint of amaretto, vanilla, and coconut. Delicious! Went well with the coffee! Although the cost was a little high, the quality of service, food and atmosphere compensated. We will definitely eat here again. Recommend giving Bistro 1940 a try.

Good food, kind of hipster vibe, a little overpriced…read more We like trying new places and support local businesses over chains when we can. This has the vibe of little bistro coffee shops we find in many large cities with a limited menu and lots of coffee options. They had both a soda fountain and bottled/caned soft drinks. However, neither the fountain nor the cans and bottle had any ZERO products. I ordered a Mikey, an Italian style heated sandwich on an Italian style roll. The bread was good and everything on it was tasty. It was a good sandwich. But for the price I could have had a much larger sandwich at Jersey Mike's wing more meats and veggies. It always seems that places trying to be cool skimp on odd things. Like lettuce is cheap but there was very little on the sandwich. My wife had a turkey sandwich on ciabata bread. She liked her sandwich too. We both got potato salad which was good but bit heavy on the pins for my wife. It was fine for me but I wanted pepper and I could not see any easily accessible and didn't feel like asking for it (that's on me). Our bill with a modest tip for two sandwiches, potato salad sides that were included a fountain drink and a mango slurp (they called it a smoothie but it wasn't) was $45.00. That's just too much for a simple lunch, at least for us.

I've never had a smoothie where the employee recommends I add bananas to "thicken" the smoothie before I even finish ordering, like she knew it was going to be just awful. This was a coffee high protein specifically, so I rejected the recommendation. I essentially invested in my third 13 dollar cup of hotel coffee. Watery, and not worth it. It tastes like they use half the ingredients, and double the ice. I went back around the drive-through because this is the third time (each smoothie a watery version of what every other smoothie king offers) I've had an awful shake. I was told they could remake it, but nothing would change about the smoothie. They can't make it better, only over again. Sigh. I, also, couldn't pay for extras add-ons and have them re-blend it and try make it edible, or at least give it a flavor. I was essentially stuck with another flop. I won't be doing that again. Times are hard, I understand, but they're hard for everyone... at least make my overpriced shake worth the overhead.

We are familiar with Cuban coffee from having it up north and in Miami. We had Cafe Bombón, tres leches cake, guava pastry and lemon cake. The cafecito cubano was good and the Cafe Bombón was good. The only thing we thought would have been better is to serve the Cafe Bombom in a glass cup/glass. Presentation sometimes is important and serving it in a plastic cup kinda takes away from it. The tres leche cake was good, the guava pastry was not. Lacked the filling and then it was wrapped in plastic so the humidity made it most. These guava pastries are meant to be flaky and with more guava. The service was good and staff were nice. May come back for coffee.
