Inside - so cute!
Melissa G.

After trying a newer coffee shop where our drinks weren't good and the food abysmal, we went to the tried and true Bella's. Since we'd eaten, we just had coffee but it was so much better. The atmosphere was calmer and yet they were packed. As we should have known, this will be our go-to coffee shop.

Went here to get a cappuccino and take it to go! The place is adorable and I would like to come back to try their salads! The place has a very warm ambiance and that was a plus! Adorable signs all over the cafe as well!

Cafe mocha, Feta egg cup, "Raisin The Roof" sandwich

Stopped by while passing through town and it was delicious coffee and very pretty inside. There were many menu options to choose from and the workers seemed to have great connections with the locals. Originally ordered takeout but decided to stay and enjoy the lively & welcoming vibes. I sadly did not enjoy the feta egg cup as much as I hoped, as there was zero flavor and slightly unpleasant, but everything else was good for the price!

Oatmeal cup, yogurt parfait and blueberry iced tea

Very cute spot! This place came recommended by our ghost tour guide and it was a great place without a wait to grab a quick breakfast. We tried the oatmeal cups which were full of chocolate chips and delicious! The fruit and yogurt parfait really hit the spot too. And the blueberry iced tea was delicious. Would definitely recommend if you don't want an elaborate or heavy breakfast.

Nice little cafe with spacious seating and pillows to get comfy. Nice menu with variety. Loaded potato soup was delicious and generous. Quiche also delicious. Gyro was declared dried out pita bread and was hard to eat as a sandwich had to eat with fork. No drink refills unfortunately.

Bella's cais a charming spot with fantastic coffee at affordable prices. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make it a must-visit for coffee lovers on a budget. Highly recommend!

Caprese on ciabatta! Tastes better than it looks!

Lovely spot in downtown New Bern! The caprese was nice and warm, served on a ciabatta with a side of chips and a pickle. My husband enjoyed the breaded chicken also on a ciabatta. Super cute spot! Gets busy at lunchtime. Will remind you of a Hallmark movie. Lots of locals gather for coffee and chit chat. I heard the cheese biscuits are to die for! Forgot to grab one when I was there. Looking forward to coming back!

Hummus wrap with cheese and red peppers

Very cute cafe in beautiful downtown New Bern, the staff were very friendly and helpful but the service was extremely slow, the kitchen forgot about one of the orders in my party. The hummus wrap was delicious, I will go back for the wrap hopefully next time I won't have to wait so long.

Didn't happen to us, but when we arrived, there was indeed a train sitting there, and some cars in front, well, they weren't going anywhere anytime soon. Inside is all vibes, kind of set up like an old pharmacy, but slinging cocktails instead, and I have to say, the cocktails were very tasty and well priced. All the tables were full of friend and family groups playing board games and enjoying various flatbreads and libations. Seems like the kind of place the local neighborhoods enjoy and spend quite a bit of time at. At the moment, can't remember the names of the cocktails we got, its been a few months. But I do remember the toasts. This place doesnt have a kitchen in a traditional sense, more like a prep area where they bring ingredients together (that I imagine are made off site) and toast it up to present you with some pretty unique combos and flavors. Honestly, a great way around some of the health code restrictions that start to apply to more in-depth operations while still having a robust menu. We ordered a variety for the 4 of us, as this was dinner that evening. Gettin Figgy with it was a favorite, as were the Pig and the Goat, and the Reuben. Their version of a Cubano was alright, but as could be the case you'd imagine, the pork was a little dry. The caprese was the only one we got that seemed to be a universal thumbs down, the avocado spread wasn't working with the other ingredients. Definitely would come back for some of these toasts, and drinks!

We made a reservation and were 30 minutes late on a Saturday night. They said they would try to save our reservation. It was half empty when we arrived at 7 pm. Tried to seat us inside at a mediocre table. Glad I asked to sit outside. Beautiful, huge patio. I recommend pushing to stay away from the door inside. There is an annoying bug zapper (why?!) there that kept going off. Glad we didn't sit at the table right near the door. Dead bugs would have been in our food. We had the feta dip appetizer. Said the pitas were toasted. Not. The dip had more cucumber salad than anything. Our server was very accommodating. He raved about the Biltmore Riesling. I don't usually like sweet wine which it was not. Great recommendation. I also tried the Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Riesling for the win! I had the unicorn fish. First time. Perfectly cooked. Yum. My husband had the chicken sandwich and asked to add a fried green tomato and have baby cauliflower. Two upcharges for an additional $2. Worth it. My son had the chicken Parmesan. He liked it. Just small amount of chicken. Overall, liked it. Would love to go back!

I choose it for that reason as it was to celebrate not just the 4th but also my hubby who LOVES seafood. I do as well but I am highly allergic as in anaphylactic type allergic to ALL types. Ridley made sure the kitchen knew and the kitchen handled it 100000% I had NO ISSUES at all. I enjoyed my food beyond belief as did my husband! The atmosphere was on point the staff was above point frankly and the food yeah we will be back!!! Hubby got the fish and chips and I got the pork chop with asparagus instead of Brussels. Most amazing "date night" ever!!! Both of us are stuffed but not feeling heavy like. I honestly would give this place a 15/10 like on point 100%! To all on board... Thank you for all you hard work to make our night magically beautiful (and safe). Forever in our hearts!!!

Beautiful, jazzy, Art Deco space. They had wonderful cocktails to choose from, cold draft beers, a big wine list, and very interesting food. We felt like just tapas, we got the empanadas and the "naked" egg rolls. We also got one order of smoked mac and cheese. The empanadas were too hard. I wish they were a little softer, but the egg rolls were delicious, and the mac and cheese was shockingly good. Probably the best I ever had. They have these really cool individual rooms that you can rent with friends if you want to make a special night of feeling like you're in a different world back in time. Definitely worth a visit.

We enjoyed the watermelon carpaccio, fried green tomatoes, garden risotto with added shrimp. Everything was very good. The tomato portion was enormous and the beer batter was crispy and light. The risotto? It wasn't really risotto, it was more like a creamy rice but it was delicious. And those shrimp were big, juicy and tasted like they just came out of the sea. The watermelon, though, was a shocker. It was grilled! It had a really great smoky flavor that was totally unexpected and the dressing was light and fresh. We always sit at the bar and the service is always on point.

The main room had a lot of room and good bar seating. I read the reviews and wanted some seafood and the fish and chips caught my eyes. I was also going to try the clam chowder but the last two reviews were not appealing so I asked the waitress other options. I was offered the Tomato Bisque soup which was very good . Very creamy and tomatoey. For the main course I changed from the fish and chips to The Bounty, and unfortunately it was NOT. The meal was fried with French Fries and Cole slaw. I mentioned I didn't like coleslaw so they left it off but didn't offer any as a substitute or knock the soup price off. The meal came with 5, average sized shrimp with the tails off, what was supposed to be scallops, and small fried oysters. The fries were better than the oysters and scallops, and I believe the scallops were imitation because they did not have any grain when I cut them. I wasn't asked if I wanted tarter or cocktail sauce and just got tarter. I had to chase down the waitress for water since I didn't want anything else. I'm not sure this would make me a return trip but every place is worth a try

Even though we arrived for our scheduled reservation 15 minutes after opening they were out of one of the main courses and the server did not inform us until after we had taken the time to peruse the menu. Upon the chef's recommendation we ordered the veal instead of the lamb chops that we actually wanted and they did not have. My plate was extremely salty and my husbands was tough. The only positive thing I have to say about the food was that the fruit and burrata salad presented well and tasted good. A classy restaurant would have made it right. They made no such attempt other than our server apologizing profusely. I cannot recommend this anyone in good faith. Extremely disappointing

I went because that sounded really good. Pro Tip: They only sell lobster rolls on Sunday. It appears food cost are rising and the orders don't fully justify the expense in the customers eyes. The menu still looked good so I stayed. Olivia was my server and she was great. Super knowledgeable about the menu with great suggestions. I wanted the brussel sprouts but was a little reluctant because of the beets. She said it was good and give it a try. I glad I did what a treat. The brussels were lightly fried. The real treat was the flavor profile. The bitterness of the brussels, pickled sweetness of the beets, creaminess of the goat cheese with the crunch of the pecans....wow. So good and it was lightly dressed with the pickling liquid. I went with the jerk salmon for the entree. The salmon was cooked perfect and had a nice crust on it. It was served with a citrus (mango forward) salsa on top of jasmine coconut rice. It is all a great idea and the combo was good. Only feedback was the red bell peppers seemed out of place and took away from the dish and the jasmine rice was a little too bland. I could taste the hint of coconut which was good but some seasoning or a touch of salt on the rice would have paired great with the salmon and orange glaze. Over a gem in New Bern with great service.
