Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The food was so salty that it was difficult to eat, and the smoothies had very little flavor. On top of that, the wait time for our food was much longer than expected, even though the restaurant was not particularly busy. Good food and timely service are the basics of any dining experience, and unfortunately this visit missed the mark on both. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the quality of the food and the speed of service. read more

This place was ok. They're trying to be everything to all people- with healthy options and more regular stuff. I found the smoothie to be really sweet- and I tried to pick one that wouldn't be a sugar bomb (pretty sure the peanut butter used was Jiff, which would explain it). The avocado toast was a little sad (a little smear of guacamole instead of a nice fresh avocado, but oh well). The egg on top was fine. The omelette my dining partner got was mid. Service was friendly, though she seemed a little stressed considering the place was so empty. The menu was really big. Tried Vine Cafe a while ago while in New Bern and loved their açaí bowl! Great portions and very tasty. My friend had the chicken, bacon & ranch wrap and also said it was really good. Service was great, and the food was AMAZING. I got the buffalo chicken melt as a wrap and "The Beachy One" smoothie. I have had many buffalo chicken wraps, but this one was the juiciest and best one I have ever had. The smoothie was also thick and tasted great, and the chips that are served with the food are very unique. They are chips but kind of like fries at the same time, and they taste so so so good. They have inside and outside tables which is where I sat. Ya'll have to try this spot! read more

I don't know how this place is still open. I reluctantly came back because a group of friends were meeting here. I got the veggie power bowl with watery tahini dressing. It was so bland. My friend got a smoothie that she couldn't drink it was so bad. The service was a little better but still lacking, had to ask for silverware several times. Very creative menu well prepared. Very affordable. However, 45 minute wait for 2 Paninis is unacceptable. Staff very pleasant. Needs a very deep cleaning floors, windows, furniture all very dirty, ceiling vents black. Sorry I really hope they take this to heart. I want to love this place. Wonderful place! Service was friendly and food came fairly quickly. Good quality for a fair price. Bathrooms could use some attention but they were fairly busy so no major complaint there. Tables were pretty small so we had to cram all the great food in. They did have a sign that says they add a 15% charge to carry outs. read more

From beginning to end it was a huge let down. As soon as we walked in we were bombarded with "for here or to go" and "do you know what you want" before we had even gotten a menu. There was no greeting. That should have been the indicator to turn around and leave. Because I said we wanted our food to go we were charged a 15% gratuity which seems pretty steep since there was no additional services for ordering our food and taking it out of the restaurant. The sign says it's because of Covid and they are working hard to make the food look and taste delicious. I'm pretty sure that's what employees get paid an hourly wage to do regardless. Smoothies were bland, tasted like milk as others have mentioned and were super liquidy. They were not even cold. It was not worth the money. Pretty irritated I spent $40 here read more

This was my first visit to Vine Cafe which offers healthy food fast. They also offer a number of vegan options such as a chipotle jackfruit panini which sounded intriguing. Staff was attentive and our food was quickly prepared. I opted for their Ahi Tuna wrap and my friend ordered the Ahi Tuna poke bowl, so we could compare notes. Both dishes were flavorful; however, the poke bowl contained double the tuna. The tuna in both dishes was perfectly seared & had great flavor. Since the poke bowl was a few dollars more, I would expect it to have more tuna. It was definitely worth the up-charge, so note to self for next time. They offer a shaded outdoor dining space; however, we opted to dine inside due to the heat & humidity. Their inside dining area is light & bright with tables spaced apart. I placed an order and prepaid on the store website. I ordered at 11:52. The receipt said order was due 12:22. Ambiance: When I arrived ,it was packed and a little hectic. I waited in line to let them know I was ready for pick up. This was around 12:15. When I told them they acted as if they knew nothing about my order. They did not ask to see my receipt on my phone. They told me to hang on one moment and proceeded to tend to other pick ups and customers. Around 12:24 I reminded them that I was waiting. They told me again to give them one second. I waited 2 more minutes. I told them that I would have to come back for my order because I had an appointment to get to. They said okay we will write it down. When I returned around 2:30 I told them I was back for my order. At first they had no idea what I was talking about . Once I reminded them again they handed me my smoothie and got back to work. No apology was given for my inconvenience. There was nothing wrong with the smoothie. However I would not recommend ordering online. read more

first let me say that the atmosphere and the young lady who served us were both excellent. The concept was also very ambitious. however it lost something in the execution. I ordered a steak and my wife order a chicken platter that were both underwhelming. While the food didn't came out cold, it was around room temperature. the seasoning wasn't there either. I came in on a Tuesday afternoon, the place was empty minus a few coming into pick up "to go" orders. I chose to dine in. A couple came in and "dined in" towards the end of my meal. The place looks to be a order at the counter type place, but they told me to take a seat, brought me water and a menu. I already knew what I wanted. Service was great. Paid at the front counter when I was done and left a tip. Place was clean, workers were very attentive and nice. I am happy for the healthy options but the bowl lacked flavor. I've been to many other poke bowl establishments and they have so much more flavor. My biggest complaint was the old tasting and smelling Ahi Tuna. I don't think they have enough foot traffic to sell enough fish to keep it fresh, or they are not throwing it away. Either way it ruined the meal for me. It did not get me sick but I think it was most definitely not fresh. Only my observation and guess. May return to try other offerings when I'm in the area. read more

I was very intrigued when visiting New Bern and see they opened this cafe. Walking in it's a very welcoming vibe. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is great because it was a nice day out. They menu has a lot of healthy options including vegan and gluten free. I ordered the pink pitaya smoothie bowl. Pros: very refreshing and it took me back to all the açaí bowls I would eat in California. Strawberries were so juicy and flavorful. Cons: I've never had bee pollen before so I wasn't a fan of the texture and the shredded coconut was not sweet it really did not have much taste. All in all it is a must try and they have a variety of options in the menu so next time I'm in town I'll definitely be back. read more

Went in today @11:30 with a friend for lunch . The food has been good in the past and lots of menu choices , but service is usually slow so if you go don't be in a hurry . Not our first time here but today was disturbing . There were two young moms there with toddlers. It seemed like we were in a playground and not a restaurant . The toddlers were running around and screaming , crawling all over the floor around the restaurant mothers wandering around with them , on their phones , seemingly unconcerned they were disturbing to others . The two employees completely ignored their behavior like it was a normal occurrence. The ultimate was when one of the mothers decided to change her boy childs dirty diaper right in the restaurant , yes right next to people eating ! Again the two employees seemed to not notice or care . Changing stations in rest rooms ?? I ordered the margarita pizza but it didn't resemble the photo posted of it on their page by the owner . It came sliced in wedges on a triangular plate , the crust was premade and cold, little bit of sauce , a small slice of tomato and a mostly unmelted piece of cheese and a basil leaf . I often order margarita pizza at restaurants but I can't recommend this one . My friend was happy with her power bowl . But the high speed blenders are really noisy would be better located in the enclosed kitchen . Thankfully there are lots of options for lunch and probably won't return here . read more

The food was gross. I didn't think you could mess up avocado toast with egg, but it was nasty. My smoothie was nice and our server was good. This place is weird, and I will never eat there again. FYI- our server was great, she never stopped moving. I was impressed with her. I don't understand why the food took so long to come out, and we were the only table on a Saturday morning. The salad and chai latte were great, but the best part were the staff despite it being a busy shift and the staff being a little overwhelmed at the time. I ordered a smoothie, it tasted like milk and whatever was left over in the smoothie machine. the time before this, the servers didn't know who was serving who, and what tables were getting what. Modern, open restaurant with healthy choices & decent pricing. Gave this place a shot after receiving a gift card, and was mildly disappointed even though I didn't have the highest expectations. Overall, I enjoyed my dish, which was an ahi tuna bowl. However, the avocado used was not quite edible (lots of brown spotting & was extremely firm) & the parts of the wild rice didn't seem to be cooked all the way as there were lots of hard pieces. That being said, I enjoyed the seared ahi and the rest of the dish with no problem. The kind & quick service that I received when picking up my order also made up for any issues that I had. During a visit to Key West, I was delighted to eat an acai bowl at a restaurant near the marina and was pleasantly surprises when I saw that a restaurant in New Bern offered the item on their menu. Not only was I dissapointed in the results but the price value was was not there. I friend tried to dissuade me from going to Vine as he also had a disappointed experience but I plowed on hoping against hope that I jad found my answer. My bowl had very little fruit, almost no fiber and the balance had melted. It's very possible Vine has no idea what an acai bowl is supposed to have in it but its no excuse for lack of ingredients and charge $10 plus (taxes). I am so done. I am guessing their clientele comes in once and never returns as 2 out of two is not a good omen. read more
