Finally ate here today. As I entered there was only a couple other patrons. No waiting! The gentleman behind the counter walked me through the process and explained everything to me. You can choose a bowl, a wrap, or a pita. They do offer sandwiches and other items as well. I decided on a bowl. I chose yellow rice instead of quinoa. I was able to have a few small samples to help make a decision. I also had lamb, chicken, garbanzo beans, spinach, three different hummus (feta, traditional, roasted eggplant), lettuce, tomato, feta, cucumbers, naan, and tzatziki over the top. I also decided to have a lemonade. They have several different lemonades to choose from and it's bottomless if you're dining in. I added so many items to the bowl the price was fairly high, but worth it. There's plenty of seating inside and it's a nice dining room. Very simple, but comfortable. I sat and enjoyed my bowl with pomegranate lemonade. Everything was delicious. I'm happy that I finally tried The Hummus Republic. I will definitely eat here again. I considered ordering online but dropped by in person only to find a single kiosk for ordering with the same options and without some of the special deals advertised on the website, so there really isn't any reason not to order online. I got a pretty full bowl. I noted that the kale they had out had a number of dubious leaves in it, but the person picked around them to get me some nice green kale (if I were them I'd just dump the wilted ones). Vegetarian options were ample at all levels of the ordering process and indeed the only non-vegan component i ended up with was some feta. It was a salty and tasty bowl; oddly the salad greens were the only thing I got less of than expected. I also said what the heck and got what they call a signature tahini shake, which was absurdly filling to the point that I pretty much skipped a meal. Okay if that's what you want. Popped in for a quick takeout - place was super clean and, as a first-time visitor, the menu board was self explanatory. DISGUSTING! Worst food weve ever tried! The tahini sauces tasted rank, the chicken tastes and looks like dog food. We tried to give this new place a shot even though the pictures barely looked appetizing and it was mediocre at best. Love this gyro lamb/beef bowl!! So many delicious and nutritious things to pack in. The only thing I will do different is sauces on the side and split it into 2 portions so I can reheat the meat. Wanted to try this new spot and the flavor didn't disappoint. You could chose from pita wrap or just a bowl. I got a pita which they warm first. Next you chose up to three types of hummus/sauce. The base is either couscous or garbanzo beans. Then you can pick a protein. I chose the gyro which they cook as you order. Then you can load on toppings like cooked onions, chickpeas croutons, fried eggplant, corn, tomato, feta and more. Last you pick a dressing. The pita doesn't close but they give you a take out box and utensils to eat it. It will cost $14 plus anything else you add, tip, and drinks. The $7 tahini smoothie sounded good but didn't get to try it. So it adds up fast but there are a lot of options and it is a large portion. Nice to see some different options for fast good. read more

The gentleman that waited on me (?owner) was very nice and helpful especially with me trying to figure out what to pick. You can get a bowl $13.59, wrap $12.95 or pita 11.95. They have six different kinds of hummus to choose from which is considered the base. Then you add your protein which they have 6 or 7 different ones. I had the Shawarma chicken. Then you can add your toppings (16). I made a bowl and it was huge. I was able to try three different hummus in the bowl. Sauces were good too. I love jalapenos but I wish they would cut them up into smaller pieces, rather than serve big slices. I also tried the Falafel. Nice and moist with a crispy coating. The staff is beyond friendly and let me ask a million questions since it was my first time. Now the food, walk in and go to the back of the counter to order - think subway style. Pick if you want a bowl, a wrap, or pita bread. There are some combos to choose from, or you can make your own. This place is great for vegetarians or meat eaters. Ask for a sample if you're not sure. If you don't like hummus , skip it. I did a falafel bowl with chick peas, cous-cous, mixed greens, corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, tiziki, hummus (you can pick up to 3), peppers and sauces on the side since I was not sure (grandma's is a cilantro jalapeño and it's bomb). Don't skip on a drink - get a refillable lemonade, they have 6 to choose from, and you can try them all - mix and match - so good. Honestly, the bowl was huge. I took half of it home for later. I wanted a healthy lunch with veggies, but I was really in the mood for comfort food, and The Hummus Republic hit the spot. It was my first visit, and I for sure will be back when working in Jacksonville. The place was spic and span, and I was greeted by a friendly face. I loved seeing all my meal options right there in front of me. I selected the harissa hummus and eggplant hummus for my bowl along with lemon chicken. Wow! It was so good! Everything was fresh, and there were so many options for toppings and add ons. I had to add on the falafel, which was delicious. The aroma of my meal was fantastic. So many fresh herbs and veggies! I waited until after my meal to try the lemonade. It took me a while to decide which flavor lemonade I wanted because of all the options. I decided on the pomegranate, which was an excellent choice. I'm looking forward to returning to try the earth burger with sweet potato fries, and I'm hoping The Hummus Republic decides to open a Hampstead location. It's a cute restaurant. The decor is good. I do have issue with the giant glass panel it is very hard to hear the worker when they ask you a zillion times what choices you want but can't hear as the voice in the building is loud. Food tastes great. Was fresh ingredients. I'm not sure if I would visit often as it was a pricier place to grab some food. But I would go a few times. I had never heard of HR and stopped in after seeing a menu on Yelp. The set up reminds me very much of Cava the restaurant was very clean and the lady at the counter was very helpful. You start with a starch and work your way down to the toppings. I had the Kalamata olive hummus and regular hummus. Both were absolutely delicious. Tzatziki was amazing!! I love the options for the bowl and you get such a huge portion it could be 3 meals. Dressing choices were not really my fav but I did like the tahini. I've never been here before. When I walked in the folks were great! They greeted me enthusiastically and I explained the menu options. There is so much to choose from. I had a pita wrap with lemon rice, spinach and onion with corn as a base. Then I got the Leon chicken and Moroccan steak as proteins. Both were delish! I got the tzatziki and harissa humus for my meal. I tried the kalamata humus but I'm not a big fan of olives. Got the grandma's hot sauce as a topper with some pita chips and I was set! Grandma's is spicy and they do have a less spicy option just ask. The restaurant is nice and cool and the table and chairs very modern and low key! I ordered beef gyro meat and chicken shawarma in my bowl, and paid for an extra portion of chicken shawarma meat, and I don't feel like I received an appropriate amount for a bowl that cost me $23. Disappointed, ordered a pick up of a bowl with the lame that cost extra. Also with spinach, couscous, olives and dressing. It only came with two pieces of lame 1 tinny scoop of couscous the rest was filled up with completely spinach. So I basically paid for a salad with 2 slices of meat that was $17! Called and talked to the OWNER! and he was very rude not willing to help with any type of refund even though on the phone he stated that the meat and couscous should have had more in the bowl. They use clover registers that literally have a button for a refund. Do not recommend eating/paying this establishment for basically ripping people off. In the picture I ate all of the spinach and the two tinny meat slivers on top. The rest was a tinny tinny! Scoop of couscous and a little bit of olives. read more

Holy moly this place is such a breathe of fresh air here! It's build your own style so you can add whatever you'd like. The food is flavorful. The portions are large which is fantastic! They carry a jalapeño sauce that's so stinken good my husband keeps asking me to go buy more of it! They have lemonades for drinks and they're all so yummy and refillable so feel free to try the different flavors! The staff is friendly. My only complaint is the high plexiglass, makes hearing them super hard, especially for the elderly(we had some with us and they were struggling to hear and understand). If they cut it in half it could still protect the food but make it much easier to communicate. But doesn't change the rating at all, 5 star worthy for sure. read more
