    Denver omelet

Such a cute space. Very much old diner feel with the two color tile flooring and diner chairs. The works are nice and courteous. Friendly and acknowledged each person entering. The coffee bar is a cute touch in the corner. The downs the coffee flavors seemed watered down. Not very strong coffee. The Denver omlett was packed with yummy ham eggs cheese and onions along with green peppers. biscuits were warm and flavorful.

This is a great little breakfast and brunch spot in New Bern. Typical greasy spoon diner offerings including eggs and pancakes. I got the traditional eggs Benedict and it was delicious. They have several kinds of Benedict including a vegetarian and a crab version. They even have a Seniors' special section of the menu which 55 and older can order from for smaller portions thus cheaper pricing. Great little spot if you're craving breakfasty foods! Service was quick and friendly!

Have not been here for some time. Still good as always. Tiffany was our server and what I liked, when she brought an omelette to one in our party, she noticed the pepper jack was omitted.

Healthy salad. Mixed greens, pecan pieces, apples, raisins, oranges, feta cheese, grilled chicken breast, ginger dressing on the side.

They say they are open on Yelp and I used to come here when I visited New Bern. There is a sign on the door that says 'Fall Hours" and says they are only open Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat. Who runs a business with these hours and doesn't change them on Yelp?

This was our last day in New Bern. The last day of our vacation and we wanted to end with a bang. The day previous we had an amazing French Toast in downtown New Bern at Baker's Kitchen. So we wanted to explore the area as we left. This place started with great reviews (for reasons unknown). We arrived about 8:30 and they opened at 8 -- the place was already full which is typically a good sign. We were seated and told coffee is self-serve. Which is a cool idea but not much a guest can do when the coffee is empty and cold. When it comes to the menu. Let's hope you have an idea of EXACTLY what you want because most of it is scratched out. They emphasize a scratch made menu, I guess they meant that literally as nothing is available and literally scratched out with sharpie. Our server eventually came, we weren't quite ready and then she proceeded to take another tables order. I'm not even mad at her. She seemed to be the ONLY one working. For a busy Sunday breakfast you'd expect more. There was her and one woman serving the food. They were drowning with no shore in sight. I was ready to call in the coast guard to at least offer them some sort of relief. Food was decent but probably wouldn't come back.

The Sea Glass Cafe reminded me of a small diner. It is a very busy place and has a few tables outside. I wasn't exactly sure who my waitress was as all three took care of my needs and seemed to work together at all the tables. When I arrived I was warmly greeted and asked if it was my first time there and was told the benedicts were popular. The menu had a variety of options so makes it easy for everyone to find something they'd like to eat. I liked that many items could be customized with the toppings you wanted so was tempted to order one of those dishes. I went with the Veggie Benedict as it had avocado; tomato; mushrooms and spinach. What I didn't notice was that instead of poached eggs that I love with runny yolks it came with two scrambled egg whites. I will see next time if I can get two poached eggs next time as that would have made it perfect as I like the yolk. I look forward to dining here again.

My oh my...the portion sizes are generous and shareable! And can we talk about the creamy deliciousness of their cheese grits! I was so looking forward to trying the Sea Glass Benedict...I mean anything with crab has got to be yummy...but was disappointed in the amount of crabmeat. Unfortunately the service was less than stellar with only two wait staff during Saturday breakfast service. We had to wait for our order to be taken, silverware and butter to be provided. When we were ready to pay, staff was more concerned with busing tables than even acknowledging us at the cashier. Lastly, wait staff weren't wearing masks and the tables weren't spaced for social distancing. While this was our first experience at Sea Glass, I understand everyone has an off day. I'll give them a second chance. Just not any time soon.

I can see why a lot of locals like this place, the service is terrific and the food are delicious! The portions are definitely generous and they are priced fairly. There are plenty of tables to accommodate the hungry folks! Overall, this is definitely a must-come place if you're ever wanting good brunch.

    Love the unique mugs!

We had Sam as our server and she was ON POINT. Recommended her favorites and tweaks available. I think she could tell I was looking for something and she recommended a Philly Skillet that wasn't on the menu and it was exactly what I wanted. It so so so good. Loved it. I'm so excited to go back. Everything was amazing and staff was so nice.

Didn't happen to us, but when we arrived, there was indeed a train sitting there, and some cars in front, well, they weren't going anywhere anytime soon. Inside is all vibes, kind of set up like an old pharmacy, but slinging cocktails instead, and I have to say, the cocktails were very tasty and well priced. All the tables were full of friend and family groups playing board games and enjoying various flatbreads and libations. Seems like the kind of place the local neighborhoods enjoy and spend quite a bit of time at. At the moment, can't remember the names of the cocktails we got, its been a few months. But I do remember the toasts. This place doesnt have a kitchen in a traditional sense, more like a prep area where they bring ingredients together (that I imagine are made off site) and toast it up to present you with some pretty unique combos and flavors. Honestly, a great way around some of the health code restrictions that start to apply to more in-depth operations while still having a robust menu. We ordered a variety for the 4 of us, as this was dinner that evening. Gettin Figgy with it was a favorite, as were the Pig and the Goat, and the Reuben. Their version of a Cubano was alright, but as could be the case you'd imagine, the pork was a little dry. The caprese was the only one we got that seemed to be a universal thumbs down, the avocado spread wasn't working with the other ingredients. Definitely would come back for some of these toasts, and drinks!

The weather was extremely generous for Feb no jacket sun in 70s with a view you can never buy. Persimmons being on waterfront is huge pull but so much more its the history of a small town which played such a huge history in NC history and all the historical architectural structures and ability to park walk enjoy. The entrance lounge area is so comfortable and filled with local artist portraits for sale. We were quickly seated. My sister thought she reckonized an old family friend they were just ladies who liked our outfits who came over to chat. Toby was our server very gracious and splendid service. We decided to switch previous entree orders plus I added appetizer which was so divine the feta pita was amazing. I am unfortunately plagued by allergies and sensitive to certain spices got a peppercorn during appetizer so had to excuse myself and refresh but the flavor profile of appetizer was worth my fault of chatting too much got pepper rush. Nothing could spoil our time my sister had just had bday day before so it was festive conversation and dining. Her entree of pork chop was a tad rare for her our server was very accommodating and Mananger quickly came over to reassure her that Chef was making her the chicken which I was having fresh to perfection. The plate size here match charger size plus heated and food always arrives extremely freshly cooked even broccoli isn't overcooked so rare. Portions are beyond most dining experiences. I could never eat full entree here always having leftovers is great to bring back to Raleigh. Look at pics there are 3 butterfly chicken breasts buttery mashed potatoes and succulent broccoli the mushroom peppercorn en glaze tie all flavors to a higher taste profile. After dining chatting enjoying as we were leaving I asked staff about ginger cat whom is named Sampson he's quite the legend in marina. Thanks for wonderful time as always will be back soon!

I tried to make reservation but the restaurant would not take a reservation for one so I went early. My options were the bar or in the dark tunnel. I chose the tunnel as I thought I was going to get a table not a high top there. Then where the menu was placed that would have me facing the back wall as the other seat was near the kitchen entrance. So I moved there but I still didn't have a view of the performers. So things didn't start well but I ordered the boba boat mocktail and the mac n cheese with short ribs. My waitress then informed me that they were out of the short rib and would brisket be ok. I hate brisket so I said no and she went and got me the menu to order something else. While I was looking at the menu with my phone flashlight (other tables had actual flashlights, they came prepared) as the tunnel was too dark to see without it, I was given mac n cheese with short rib according to the food runner. I questioned him as I had been told they were out but he went and checked and told me it was the last of the short rib. It was not short rib and someone lied. When the waitress returned, she thought it was burnt ends and checked with the kitchen and they told her brisket. Whatever the mystery meat was, it was not what I ordered. Did they think I wouldn't notice or know the meats are prepared differently. It is dark there so it is hard to know what you are eating. The mystery meat dish was taken back to the kitchen and I asked if they could prepare it with vegetables instead as mac n cheese seemed like the safest option on the menu with the mystery meats. I wish they just had what I originally ordered. The specialty made veggie dish was good but I expected more flavors with the cheese. It was kind of bland. I did try the dessert too. I got the strawberry lemonade cake. The strawberries were the best part as the cake was on the dry side. While eating this, the check was brought to the table. This is my biggest pet peeve to not wait until the guest is finished eating. The most frustrating part was that while they refused to increase the lighting when I arrived and asked as I couldn't read the menu. They immediately turned the lights up when another guest asked as I was finishing my dessert. The chef came to the table from the front dining area. It was my understanding that things were going to be made right. I didn't expect to be charged the full price for the dish without the premium meat. Then there was the service failure of bringing out a dish I hadn't ordered to begin with. The decor here is outstanding, with the copper ceilings and the speakeasy feel. The clock out front caught my attention too. They went all out with the details and elegance. So it is disappointing that the food and service is not up to the same standards.

I mentioned I didn't like coleslaw so they left it off but didn't offer any as a substitute or knock the soup price off.
