Great people, even better food. Def worth checking out. Breakfast stops at 11am, don't forget!! (Candied yams are next level)

Chicken and pastry yams and green beans

I had chicken and pastry yams and green beans and it reminded me of my childhood hood when my grandma used to cook for me hands down the best soul food restaurant in new Bern nc

Greeted with a smile! Exceptional service and generous portions. Everything tasted great. 10/10 will be back.

Good morning, just finished having a great breakfast, the Big Breakfast, which was 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns, and it was hot and delicious.

Bathrooms were clean, and the food was delicious. I had a potato soup that was so delicious and thick I could have used a fork to eat it. Staff even came to our table to remove our trays when they saw we were finished. Great experience.

I'm glad I placed my to-go order online, because they were slammed. Since this location's grand opening was only 4 days ago & this is their first weekend since opening, I wasn't surprised. All of their food is freshly made and includes a freshness date on the back of packaged containers. I also like the fact they have minimal ingredients which are also included on their to-go containers. As soon as I got home, I devoured their Jalapeño Holly chicken salad! It was delicious with the perfect amount of mild heat. I could have taken it hotter, so even if you only like a little heat, this is a good option. I also ordered their Fancy Nancy chicken salad and pimento cheese, so can't wait to give them a try. Pro Tip: Before visiting, create an account on their website. You'll also earn rewards points for your online orders https://www.chickensaladchick.com/menu/271815 That way before you visit, you can read through their menu, because they have 13 variations of chicken salad as well as sandwiches, salads and soups. They also have a Quick Chick cooler for freshly prepared grab and go items. Not to mention their temping desserts!

First off, the name is a little deceiving, this place has a more complete menu than just pizza and sandwiches. And then there is the bakery section! Don't miss that! I've tried the Ruben which was great, best I've had since I moved to NC. Both times we had the fries which are generous and there was plenty for us to share. The vibe here is local, there are clearly regulars and everyone is friendly, including the other customers who are all chatty and friendly. The staff is prompt and professional but also have that more casual vibe, we felt our waitress cared about us genuinely. I see other complain that its busy, if a restaurant is not busy it's failing. We did not have to wait, sat ourselves and were immediately brought menus. Our lunch was great and filling. But then we headed to the bakery... It's small but it has everything, cakes, cookies, preserved jellies. artisan olive oils, pastry, cupcakes etc. Everything we have tried has been really good. There are no batteries in the town where we live, and none in the two neighboring towns either despite being larger than New Bern. We find ourselves in New Bern a few times a month and are adding Famous Subs and Pizza to our list of regular stops. Even if we are not eating here we will pick up a selection of treats and fresh bread to take home with us.

We sat immediately once they got up, sat at a dirty table for about 10 minutes until acknowledged. Had to ask for a table wipe down. Horrible way to do this seating. Food was good. They're adjoined with the Tryon Palace visitor center right there in downtown New Bern, so likely they're convenient for you. They have a decent, slightly obstructed view of the water but you can walk about 50 feet and be right on it. There is a large private parking lot, so no worries on that either. In general, the sandwiches there are darn good, and the few sides we tried (dill potato salad, and their pasta salad) were excellent. My reuben on marbled rye was straight up delicious, and you order yours based on how much meat you want on it. They use Boar's Head meats here, which while I think sometimes that is overblown, you can count on that level of quality. The thing though is this, it's gonna be a pricey lunch. They are full service, so count on tipping. Their prices for sandwiches are higher than what I'm accustomed to, even with my standards adjusted for the current life of everything be expensive that we live in in 2026. Chalk that up to waterfront dining and high rent I would imagine. In any case, if the sandwich didn't live up to the price, I wouldn't give it a 5. Tasted great, service was excellent, overall a very enjoyable lunch. Would return!

You can order a 3 or 6 piece & comes w/ pizza sauce for dipping. Also ordered a slice of cheese just to check out their sauce & style - great thin crust w/ flavorful sauce & extremely large slices for $2.95. Finally had to check out the Stromboli. Ordered the Steak & Cheese and it did not disappoint. Overall this spot is a local hidden gem w/ homemade flavorful items at a great price range. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area!

The pizza is exceptionally good, the garlic knots are delicious, and the mozzarella sticks are honestly some of the best fried cheese I've ever had. Don't sleep on their subs or salads either! There are a few tables available for dine-in, and if you live in River Bend (the neighborhood it's located in), they offer delivery right to your door. Ordering for pickup is also super easy and convenient.

I have been craving fried soft shell crab for weeks and finally had the opportunity to enjoy some! If you don't appreciate them, you don't know what you're missing! I decided to add the premium side Crab Tots ($1.99 when added to the meal). I'd never had them before and will definitely order them again! All of my meal items were served fresh and hot!! Everyone in our group cleaned their plates, so you know the quality and quantity of the food was outstanding! On my way out, I spotted the owner Trey sitting at a booth enjoying his lunch. I didn't want to disturb him, so I offered my compliments to the cashier. I have to say, this "chowder" was the worst I've ever had and it's not even close. It tasted, and looked, straight out of a Campbell's soup can. It had hardly no clams and maybe two tiny potato bits. The base tasted just like cream of chicken soup and it was the same consistancy. I even checked with the girl at the front counter to make sure I got the right soup because it was not even close to being a chowder. Even though I didn't like the soup, no one offered to reimburse me for it. All of the other food was ok with the fried shrimp being the best. The whiting and okra both tasted a little like they were fried in old grease.
