Generous portions. My Cape Fear could have easily fed 3 people. Not only are offerings ginormous but also so flavorful. My 3 egg omelet had tons of different veggies, mushroom ham and sausage and a welcome surprise pieces of jalapeños to add some heat. Not too excessive but just enough that you will not need that dose of Texas Pete. Angie's is always busy and very popular with both tourists and locals. Came here for lunch on our way to Emerald aisle and so glad we found this place! We seated right away even though it was busy. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The veggie omelette I ordered came out fresh and hot loaded with vegetables. The English muffin was toasted to perfection and loaded with butter. Great spot to eat and prices are reasonable. Seemed overpriced but had heard good things. The liver was sliced too thin and overcooked, my husband fried chicken fried very hard with very thick batter but when started eating my collard they were cold as if sitting out a long time. Not warm at all. I told a man I assumed to be one of the owners and he brought it back steaming alot and very smartly said "it's not cold now. How rude, we had only asked to be warmed in the microwave. My parents owned a restaurant so I understand things happen and at 73 years old it was the first time I ever had to send food back for being cold. Great food and service. This place is very busy and often packed but, they have a good system to make sure you're seated soon.

We were Sat and had already ordered. There was a very grumpy gruff man taking names for seating. A lady came in and asked how long the wait was...when it was too long for her she turned around to leave. Grumpy man yells at her in a very loud and condescending voice..."have a nice day bitch!" Food is great don't get me wrong but oh boy the wait is insane here. 99% of the time I would recommend adding 30-45 minutes to the time they give you. We were told 30-40 minutes and ended up waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes. When we went in to check at 40 minutes they told us another 20 minutes then after 20 minutes and still no text or call we went in again and go an "I don't know" for how long the wait would be because people were just "sitting and talking". Yes consideration from people is needed but it is up to the restaurant to get people moving. Would highly recommend this restaurants starts setting a time limit for tables especially if they want to get more service coming through knowing they will be busy. Smaller restaurant so it's also loud in there with everyone talking. read more

This is the best breakfast in the area! If you get there later in the morning expect a wait but they do flip tables pretty quickly. This is true home style cooking and I have never left disappointed. It always looks full so I never stopped. I went today. The atmosphere was great and made me want to go to the beach. Front the point you walk in you are greeted with smiling faces. We were sat right away and a server was at our table quickly and very nice and friendly. The food came fast and was hot and wonderful. By far, one of the best breakfast places I've been. The price was fair for what you get on a plate. The place was clean and so were the restrooms. I will definitely make this one of my favorites and visit it frequently. read more

Hubby and I both had the breakfast special for the day, Shrimp Omelettes. Hubby got his without cheese. Mine was made their normal way. They were a bit excessive with the cheese on top. It kind of overwhelmed the shrimp, which is a shame. Prices were pretty good and service was great. The fact that they serve breakfast all day makes me like them that much more. Love it... food is always great as well as service... reasonably priced and beautifully plated too! This was my Senior breakfast special Saturday morning... and my friend's with that perfectly cooked monster biscuit that came out glistening from the brush of butter drippin down the sides... crispy bacon (yay!) Love the super thin crispy English muffins... and their burgers are da bomb! Will cook them the way you like too... expect a wait later up in the morning... but worth it! Haven't had but I hear their shrimp and grits are great too. Sure wish they were open for supper too! read more

We were planning to go to The Banks Grill on Wednesday morning, our last vacation day and with great sadness found out it was closed on Wednesdays. So last minute change of plans, we found Angie's. What a wonderful breakfast, I had the biscuits and gravy, my wife had the steak breakfast sandwich. I am a biscuits and gravy connoisseur and this was as good as gets. The biscuits were huge and delicious and the gravy was very good as well. My wife said her sandwich was really good also. Small place with great food. My message to the management of Angie's, while we were eating breakfast a young man was filling the ice under the soda dispenser and as he dumped the bucket of ice in, he pushed it around with his bare hand??? That's gross, no idea if he had washed his hands or just picked his nose or his butt. There was a scoop right there, WTF, don't touch ice that goes in other peoples drinks. He was not wearing gloves either and looked more like the type person that does not religiously wash their hands. Anyway, super disappointing to see that during an otherwise amazing breakfast. read more

No one was wearing masks and socially distancing was not practiced, but the service was great! The food came out super hot and the biscuits were VERY good and moist. If masks and distancing doesn't bother you it's definitely worth a stop. If it does bother you, wait until COVID is not such a major problem and visit. read more

Great little hidden gem we stumbled upon on our drive from Swansboro to Wilmington. Great prices, large portions, and food was well prepared! Deductions: - The server was a little on the unfriendly side and she messed up one of our orders (didn't omit onions from omelette). - Owner/manager berated a server in training in the middle of the restaurant for incorrectly closing a sale and costing him $20... Whole restaurant could hear and it was all over twenty dollars - just unprofessional and not an ideal addition to a dining experience. read more
