We said "no". After we finished there, we went over and tried Brown Dog. My wife had a caramel macchiato and I had an apple pie latte. We also got two sausage, egg and cheese croissants. Neither one of us could taste coffee in our drinks. They were too sweet. It was like drinking sugar water. Neither one of us finished our drinks and threw them away. The croissants were way too small. The only thing that this place had going for it was that it was on the main street and was bigger. It was freezing cold inside as well. I don't think we will be back.

Had to repeat order a few times for the waitress to actually hear it. We got the French toast special and sampler. Parts of French toast was undercooked. Biscuit was not good, the worst I've ever had. It was flat, dull flavor, and dry flour on the outside. Eggs were good- plain, cooked to our request (medium and well done). Bacon was crispy- interesting it was written "hard" on the receipt when I didn't even say how I wanted it to be cooked. From the sampler, the ham was too salty for my taste. Sausage was good, typical. Grits usually come on the sampler and we are not big fans of grits. They don't accept substitutions according to the menu so we just said don't bring the grits. Added cheese to eggs (gave American cheese, no cheddar). Besides food we had one coffee. Bill total was $25 without tip for credit card. It was busy when we got there a little before 8:30am on a Saturday and most people left by 9:30am. Extra star for nice service. Not sure if we would come back here again, but maybe for the not so bad prices.

The star factor for this review is of course, their espresso. They have 6~ summer specials that are each unique. For coffee snobs, their syrups and cold foams are in-house, which is hard to come by in the inlet. Their espresso is bold, not too milky. It's the perfect beach latte. Additionally, their food is impressive for a cafe. I'd expect the same from a full restaurant! The portions are filling and come with chips, even though the menu doesn't state. They have a selection of sodas, waters and energy drinks available to pair with the food options. And a unique feature is they have a plethora of condiments for the food (mayo, hot honey, special sauce). It's a location that really cares for their customers. I wish I would've come here day one of my stay so I could give more to this little shop! Do not skip this gem when visiting. I don't know how there isn't 50+ reviews. Thank you for making my boyfriend and I's week and continue to be the best! I can only imagine this cafe will continue to grow. Images: Dot cake latte with oat milk and brunch burger. Today I purposely came back to try something for breakfast ending up ordering a breakfast sandwich with sausage. It was a fantastic choice (I intended to have a photograph of it but it's gone.. sorry!) For lunch I've spied on others eating the pizza. It looks great; I'll have to try one before heading back home to VA. I love it here, maybe you will too. I recommend dropping for a coffee, snack, or Breakfast/Lunch.

This is our first time back at the Kettle since returning to OC last September and it is just as I…read moreremember: tasty, down home cooking and friendly folks. I asked our very helpful and sweet server Jersey if she had only 2 choices with one being chicken fried chicken or the daily special Taco Salad, which would she go with and she said the taco salad. So, that's what I ordered. It was very tasty, loaded with 2 types of cheese a side of Jalapeño (which I gave to hubby) alot of fresh tomatoes and lettuce, a side of salsa and sour cream served in a somewhat crispy tortilla shell. And the shell is the only reason for a 4 star vs 5, the shell wasn't as light and crispy as I like it. It tasted as if they fried it several hours ago and honestly, I get why they did it that way as it saves time but the shell just left me disappointed. Hubby ordered a patty melt with fries. We came into town to scope out the Jacksonville Landing for future bass fishing mornings and when I told him we were stopping in here for lunch he already knew he was having the melt. I mean, he thought about it for 90 minutes lol. I've had their melts before and it is yummy. I think though the fries were the star on his plate. They were crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside and topped with something akin to Old Bay Seasoning. And they were HOT! Y'all, i mean, they're only fries but rhey were PERFECT! I am seriously alreasy looking forward to our 1st fishing adventure just so we can have lunch at the Kettle once we've caught all the bass. Jersey was quite attentive, but not hovering and warm friendly like only you'll find in the south. Oh, bestie told me to get the chocolate torte because she said, literally, "it's life altering." However, I forgot to so, just another thing for me to enjoy after our initial fishing trip. In some ways, you can go home again.
