What I discovered recently has completely shattered my faith in the Porsche brand and dealership network. The cars are manufactured in Germany with shipping blocks that MUST be removed by the dealership upon arrival in the US. My dealership failed to remove these blocks, and I've been driving with them for nearly 4 years, putting my three children and myself in danger. My light first came on 3 weeks ago I have an extended warranty so I immediately called and set an appointment for my vehicle. They took my license and insurance and gave me a loaner, cool. A week went by and didn't hear anything so I called to check in they told me it needed a part that was covered and they were waiting for it to come in, perfect. Later that day the loaner car tire caught a flat and it was losing air fast. I called my advisor Zach and was told because I lived so far away and since they closed in 30min I should take it to my local repair person. So I call my local discount tire, the advisor there said "I'm sure you get roadside assistance, before you pay for a tow call Porsche roadside assistance". So I called back but the dealership was closed but one of the options was in fact roadside assistance. Why was this option not offered at all let alone called for me?! Roadside assistance came right out and put the donut on my vehicle. The next morning I call and ask to switch out the loaner. I was told there weren't anymore loaners but that they would call when one was available. I had the donut loaner for the next 2 WEEKS! My advisor Zach finally calls and says you can can pick up your vehicle tomorrow morning. Thank goodnes, so on the way to the dealership what happens?? The loaner Porsche with the donut with under 1000 miles cut out literally on the side street. I called a tow myself and took and uber to the dealership to get my car. I finally make it to the dealership and they pull my car around I get in and yup you guessed it THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON!! Are you kidding me?! They tell me they fixed my car and it's probably just a phantom light, they turn it off and tell me if it comes back on just bring it back in,at this point I'm already late to work so I say ok and go to work. 3 days later the light comes back same error message. I immediately bring it back and they tell me the light came on because I need an oil change because the oil is old in my car and the new part they installed is sticking. I JUST HAD AN OIL CHANGE! They tell me an oil change is $400 and they can do it same day. I told them they are absolutely crazy if they think I'm going to give them another red cent and my engine light has already been on for 3 weeks!! So I take it somewhere else to get the oil change and call the back to set up a time to get the loaner car because of course the light came back on after the oil change. They then tell me I have to wait another week for a loaner to be available. EXCUSE ME?! I did my due diligence and brought my car in AND the oil change after you clearly didn't fix my car in the first place and now you want me to ride around ANOTHER WEEK with this engine light on?! My advisor and manager said they couldn't do anything for me because they didn't have a loaner car available. So now I'm a month in my engine light is still on and I text my assist today the morning of my appointment to get a message that my number has been blocked!! A $70,000 Haircut I did not deserve. I paid $150k for a lemon MB, that had dealer admitted charging and other defects and got a used Porsche base model Taycan (20 months of xxxx later) valued at $80k. The Porsche used car manager had bought my car from another dealer and it was not a one owner car. It was a loaner and treated like a loaner and beat up (discovered too late after close inspections by 2 mechanics). This was this dealer's idea of a fair exchange. AVONDALE d/b/a Grapevine MB & Porsche are less than honest folks, and are led by Hesham Elgaghil, who did not reply to my email. The Assistant GM of Grapevine MB is Matt McPherson who has virtually no power to right wrongs; although a Navy vet, the owner gives him less authority than he had as a recruit. He tried, and even admitted the charging and other defects. It's a long story and I want to share it all. The Used Car Mgr. of Grapevine Porsche is Steven Levi who cannot keep his story straight. My used Taycan (former loaner) had been driven and cared for poorly. This was after the Porsche's new car manager described about how all in his used fleet were from one owner Porsche enthusiasts. While I am not new to the Park Place family I am new to Porsche. I am beyond thrilled that when I decided to become acquainted with the brand I went to the Park Place Grapevine dealership. Upon arriving, I was greeted by Alex Utroska and he immediately made me feel very welcome. After the introductions I explained what I was looking for an in no time we were on a test drive. Having done this a few times, I have to say the test drive with Alex was the most comfortable of all test drives I ever taken. As I was driving he described the brand, explained the car and answered my questions. After completing the test drive, he explained the entire purchase process and in no time we were discussing a deal. As the saying goes, 'the stars and the moon lined up perfectly' and the next thing I knew my car was waiting for me in room by itself where Alex stepped me through the basics. While the brand sells itself, a professional like Alex made the entire process so easy and stress free. As for this location has been open for under a year and it is state of the art. At ~70,000 square feet it is the 2nd largest dealership in North America. While there is ample showroom space, the service area is just as spacious. The lounge area is impressive; there is plenty of seating along with an impressive number of outlets for charging devices. There are also a few wireless charging spots for devices that have that capability. It is setup to accommodate all electronic device needs. Also, there is complimentary WiFi available along with an assortment of beverages and snacks. The same awesome experience I had with the purchase extends to post-sale care in the service department. I am always greeted by name when I arrive before being handed over to my Service Manager, Ryan Breshears. Ryan is very personable and attentive; I have called with questions, left a message and he calls me back within a matter of no time. He is super knowledgeable of the brand and the models which is very helpful when answering questions, concerns, etc. I highly recommend teaming up with Ryan for post-sale care needs. Let me start by saying this Porsche dealership is the lowest dealership in sales in this region, and I can whole heartedly tell you there are many reasons for that and that reason does not happen to be location. To start, you're met with a secretary, who was wearing a very vulgar cheetah print top that has an attitude of someone so arrogant and up-tight, that you would think you were talking to someone so rich and powerful that she couldn't be bothered with your presence. Next on the reasoning of the 1 star rating for this lovely establishment would be the fact that you are not allowed to use the electric chargers they have. So if you're used to driving your Porsche Taycan to places throughout Houston and Austin and stopping at Porsche dealerships to get some charge in your battery without the hassle of dealing with public chargers that have lines and are usually in bad parts of town, DO NOT STOP HERE! They have many available chargers that are "for service use only," and they will not permit you to charge here even though you drive the Porsche Taycan (which sucks) that they sold you! Another magnificent reason on why you should NOT STOP HERE TO PURCHASE OR FOR HELP, would be the false help and information given. Since we were not permitted to use the empty chargers they had, we were shown where to take our amazing Porsche Taycan to get it charged! The destination given which was 800 S Royal Ln Coppell, TX 75019, takes you to a service road in the middle of nowhere with "chargers" behind a massive gate that the public has no access to, if the chargers were even present, since the chargers were not visible from the service road! This was wonderful for us as we had 16 miles left and no clue what to do next! Is that all?!? Nope! Since the managers were "very busy" in a meeting at the dealership and we could not speak to them, a phone call was made shortly after to ask some follow up questions. The gentleman that answered was about as nice as the lovely lady at the front desk, and proceeded to tell us that Uber is "beyond pathetic" for anyone driving a Porsche! Not that this has anything to do with the situation, but for a manger at a car dealership to tell me that riding in an Uber car is embarrassing and disgraceful is just astonishing in my brain! I may be biased in a small way as I think this Porsche Taycan is the worst purchase I've ever made in my life, but the treatment given at this establishment just proves what a Porsche is truly worth in my eyes, which is nothing. If you're thinking about purchasing a Porsche Taycan, do your research!! I'm telling you know you're better off spending that money on a boat, which is a complete joke, and if you do decide to purchase one, don't do it here!! *** Buyer Beware *** As a previous car salesman, I am fully and utterly disappointed and troubled with my experience with Porsche Grapevine. After finding a car online, I called, spoke and began began working Marchelle Davis; who in herself was pleasant to worth with but was immediately made apparent a symptom of a poorly misguided management with questionable ethics and morals. I agreed to the terms of an "as-is" purchase on a used Lexus, and placed a $1000 deposit on the vehicle, pending the vehicle passed PG's in house inspection team. I was later informed the car was in great shape but would be going to a nearby Lexus dealership, but was made assure the vehicle was indeed perfect and the deal was "green-lighted." I purchased an airline ticket and flew to Dallas, was picked up by Marchelle and demoed the Lexus. Everything was satisfactory so I took the Lexus for a pre-purchase inspection. The inspection showed the CV axle and rear shocks were busted, presenting a safety hazard. I informed PG of the findings and their response was the vehicle is "as-is." I have absolutely no problem purchasing a vehicle "as-is," yet the deceit in PG withholding about $2000 in repairs is unsavory. I refuse to believe PG didn't catch a blown CV axle, spewing grease all under the car, and a busted rear shock, during their safety inspection, nor chose to relay the findings from Lexus. I was robbed of making an informed purchase decision, an indisputable right of all customers. Put off by their deceitful practices, I walked from the deal. I was refunded my deposit but I am still eating my airfare costs. I was informed by PG they are just going to re-list the vehicle about $3000 higher. So either they are going to pass their costs off to the next guy, or going to allow their next "valued customer" drive off in an unsafe vehicle. I do not like to write reviews that are negative in nature but trying to resolve this issue only escalated matters and made it worse. Let me explain: I scheduled my vehicle to have just an oil change normally $250USD and a Manufacturer recall for Grounding points screws that needed to be tightened to Standard. My assigned Service Advisor unfortunately was not able to come into work today. However, I was assigned another Service Advisor Stefano who I have never worked with before today. When I got to work, I missed the call at 08:24, but received a call from Grapevine Porsche at 10:17 and Stefano stated to me that Ryan was not in the office today and that he would be my Service Advisor today he also stated that my car needed a Brake Flush and reinforced it with that Porsche recommends a brake flush every two years or 30,000 miles. I inquired about the cost to which Stefano responded 991. I asked, "991 as in $.9.91?" and he responded, "I wish I could charge $9.91, but no the cost would be $991.00 +tax." I said, "Okay what will be total cost of all charges today?" He said, "$1200+ with tax." I responded, "Okay, if a brake flush is required then go ahead and service it." I received another call at 13:14 but was unable to answer it seeing how I was at work. Then a follow up call was made 16:16 which I answered thinking my car was ready. So, I told Stefano, "Hey I apologize that I missed your call I was working and was unable to answer it, if my car is ready, I should be there by 17:30 to pick it up, please send me the payment link." He answered, "Did you see my last text?" I said, "No." He then goes to tell me, "One of the mechanics took the vehicle for a test drive an alignment and wheel balancing is recommended." I responded to Stefano, "I am not sure why you keep bringing things up while I am at work and by bringing it up, I mean upselling me on maintenance that is not required. Since my significant other was going to make it to dealership at 1700, I requested that she ask Stefano if he could send the payment link so I could pay online, pick up my keys and go straight home, because I was upset about the events that transpired. My Alto was running late, I made it to the dealership at 18:15. I walked in looking for my significant other who was sitting in the waiting room. I asked if she was able to link up with Stefano because I had not received the payment link, she responded, "The concierge said that he was with a customer, when she initially got there and that when the customer was finished then he would be available to talk." When I saw no other customers in any of the Service Advisors' offices once I arrived I started voicing my frustration to a Salesperson. They brought out the Service Director Denette Allen. She asked, "You can explain to me what is going on." I responded, "I do not want to be here right now I just want to pay my bill and go." She persisted that she could help so I explained the situation. Her first response, "My Service Advisors would only state what Porsche recommends." So, I interjected, "Instead of waiting until I am off work during pick up, and is not required?" which was the main focus of my initial statement. She then responded, "Are you going to let me finish?" I said, "NO!" - Reason for my answer this was a defensive response and only made matters worse. As far as being an empathetic listener for a paying customer I was not going to let the issue go to a back-and-forth conversation especially if my complaint was initially dismissed. Here is the catch that showed me that it was a sales pitch versus recommended by Porsche. When I received the Bill (Itemized) 1. They charged me for a 20K service which I did not ask for which does include an oil change $991.00 + tax total 996.94 2. The Brake flush is separate from the 20K service $168.00 +tax total 218.67 3. The Wheel Alignment WOULD have cost $330 +tax and Road Force Wheel Balance WOULD have cost $191 My car does not even have 20K miles on the odometer. Do not use this dealership! Last month I ran over a drill bit and cracked one of the rims on my Cayenne. I brought it to Grapevine Porsche because it was closest to my home but truly have never felt comfortable with their service department. I was told I needed a new rim and tire ASAP as my car was not safe to drive. They did not have the rim in stock so they put a new tire on the car and a lent me their rim until the new one would come in. My advisor talked to me about going through insurance since the rim itself would be over $2,400 and the tire was over $400. Everything about our conversation seemed off. Probably because my advisor was going overboard trying to point out how I could not tell the rim was a loaner. Because I've had issues with their service manage in the past I called Porsche Plano (where I purchased the car) and asked if they would look at the pictures of my rim. My advisor there told me to call Porsche Grapevine and ask for the actual cracked rim and they would look at it. I left a couple of messages letting them know I needed the rim back and no one responded. My husband got through and was told by the service advisor that they put the SAME unsafe cracked rim back on my car! We were shocked!! Now I did not know if I really had a cracked rim because why would they risk the liability of putting it back on my car after telling me it was unsafe to drive? Porsche Plano looked at the rim and they put the spare on my car and told me I never should have been driving and it could have been catastrophic to me and to the others cars on the road around me. I really can't say enough about my experience with Park Place Porsche, and especially Kenneth Rice. Let me break it down: Price: Of course price is important. I live in New Mexico and looked at the Macan S in CA, AZ, CO and, of course, Texas. The price was better than anywhere else, and not just on the car, the doc fees were lower and no added junk fees like other dealers with whom I was also negotiating. Service: Kenneth was amazingly responsive. This was done online for the most part. We had lots of questions and he always answered promptly with good and clear information. There was a lot of loan/document coordination since only my wife was traveling to pick-up the car, he made sure the documents were sent to me Fed Ex so that I could sign in time for her to get the car the day she'd be there. Delivery: On the day of pick-up it was very smooth and the presentation was fantastic, car was covered and had a giant bow on top for the unveiling.
