I purchased a new Hyundai Santa Fe on October 8, 2025. I had to wait 2 1/2 months (12/19) to be notified my vehicle registration was available. I asked if they could drop it in the mail, since it's approximately a 1 hour drive each way to the dealership. I received a response to my request on 12/20. I was told since I live in the D/FW metroplex I would have to come to the dealership to pick it up. BEST car buying experience I've had in a long time. From the moment we contacted them to driving off in the vehicle, our pre-owned salesman, Steven, went above and beyond. We live 2.5 hours north and he sent detailed videos and pictures of the car as requested, so we didn't waste our time driving down. Upon arrival the car was in the condition he claimed it was in, and they did not add a ton of extra fees. We got exactly what we expected for the price we expected. A little issue with the windshield and they offered to have it fixed before we even had to ask. Everyone was polite from the woman at the front desk, to the salesman, and the finance guy. This was a refreshing experience after shopping for over a week at other places that made promises and didn't deliver. We will be shopping here again next time we need a vehicle. I will maintain a daily report of the service I am receiving from Norm Reeves Hyundai Irving. I dropped my Genesis GV80 off Monday morning at 7:45. This is a return service for the same problem I had last summer - the A/C blows hot air. Last summer I was told there was no coolant and they replaced the coolant. However, they could not find a leak. Currently, the same situation exists. They stated they needed 24 to 48 hours to reply. Today is the fourth day and no one has called me back. I called them at 8:56 a.m. and the auto message was the service department is closed. I used their dial by name system and the reply was no one by that name works here. I waited ten minutes and called the main number and the auto message was 'everyone is busy". Heck, I'm busy, too. The auto system would only schedule new service and would not let me leave a message for someone to call me. There you have it. I will follow up when I have another client experience. Note, I will give an overall rating upon completion so this rating may change. I called Norm Reeves Hyundai Irving at 9:55 a.m. today and left a message for the advisor to return my call and give me an update on my Genesis GV80 that I left their Monday. No return call. I called again at 2:40 p.m. and left another message for my advisor. He returned my call within 60 seconds, meaning he was not doing anything at the time. He explained that this week was 'crazy busy'. If I hear that one more time as an excuse for crap client experience... anyway, they found the problem, they have the part, but they have a delay in all A/C related repairs due to a filter malfunction in their analytical system. this should be repaired by mid-next week and then they can repair my car. I had the best experience here with the salesman Stephen Vaeth! He made the entire used car buying process super easy and stress free. There were NO surprise hidden fees, B.S. dealer games, or random markup costs. Stephen was direct, but still very nice and personable. I could tell that he really enjoyed his job and liked helping customers find the perfect car (which makes sense given his 30+ years in car sales). I felt totally comfortable working with him, even though this was my first time purchasing/financing a car. Buying a used car was a huge financial decision for me. To be honest, I had been searching for over a month and was fed up with the process and the pushy salespeople. Stephen worked hard to make sure that I was totally happy with the used car that I bought. In addition to letting me take the car home for a few days to try out, Stephen got me a great deal on the repairs/modifications that I wanted done on the vehicle. He never once pressured me into a sale, nor did he speak in confusing terms. After sitting in front of him for 5 minutes he then addressed us about what car we were interested in. When I said the car, he asked if I saw it online because if I saw it online, that means it's there on the lot. He would be able to help attend to me if he searched it up in his computer, but anyways I said there was 2 in gray. I asked if there was possibly any in a darker gray as well, and he said if that's all there was on the website that that's all they had and then shrugged his shoulders. I went there several months ago for inspection. They recommended replacing my cabin filter for $130. The part is roughly $20. To replace it all you do is open the glove box and pull the old one out. They tried to charge over $100 to do that. Today, I took my car to have my navigation system updated. My car is still under factory warranty. The service advisor kept throwing out scenarios where my repair wouldn't be covered and that I may have to pay diagnostic fees. He included a story where someone had their brand new truck serviced that only had 300 miles on it. He said that rodents had chewed the wires voiding the warranty. 5 weeks in the shop and still Norm Reeves my car is not fixed that is the third time I taken my 2017 G90 to get it repair for electrical issues. My nightmare started in June of this year when I took my car for repairs after 3 weeks, they said it needs a new battery, OK replace it! One week later the same problem again had a tow truck take it up there, 3 weeks later they could not find the problem or actually just bullshitted me and told me it is your battery again and it was replaced. October 21 again same problem had the car towed, 3 weeks later they told we replaced the battery again, OK I will be there tomorrow to pick it up, I get a call the car won't start we think is drawing power and will need to diagnose again. I took a trip up the to speak to the manager Ken he was cooperative and said they would get on it right away. 5 weeks in the shop and I still don't have a car, there has to be a sense of urgency and value customers. This car was over $70,000.00 G90 Ultimate and Genesis simply does not value customers. It is unbelievable the money and time I have spent with the towing uber getting back and forth, rental of a loan car, time wasted.!! read more

The service department does a terrible job with communication. I set an appointment for a recall part for my Genesis. (Appointment was on May 31) The appointment was set 2 weeks in advance. I also needed a new blinker light, backup camera issues, and sunroof issues. This was all set-in advance. I go to drop my car off and they said it could not get into the shop until Wednesday. The appointment was for 8:20 on Monday. We had to leave the vehicle for 3 days. What is the purpose of an appointment but I digress. They fixed the light bulb and put in a new back up camera. The recalled part was not in stock! Why was this not disclosed prior to me bringing in the vehicle? Now I have to go back for the recalled part and waste more time....but wait there is more! The camera screen went blue 3 days after I got the vehicle home. I called the following Monday (April 7) and left a voicemail for my service contact that afternoon. He called back on April 8 and said he would talk with his tech and get back with me. He never returned my call. I left two voicemails on Tuesday April 8 and 2 voicemails on April 9 and I have not heard back. I spent over $1000 and no call backs. I want the backup camera to work or get a full refund. My next step will be to call the GM. This is terrible customer service. I will never buy a car from this dealership again and wont take my car back in. Just the worst. July 2024 - The Freeman Hyundai Service Department is under staffed and cannot effectively manage their customers. After contacting me the morning of a scheduled oil change where I had to wait almost three (3), the Freeman Hyundai Service Department had me wait an additional three (3) weeks. Upon my on-time arrival they said I would have to wait four (4) hours. The Dealership makes follow up Service promises, at the time-of-sale; however, cannot provide adequate follow-up Services that comes anywhere close to other Dallas Metroplex Service Departments. Freeman Hyundai Service Department needs more effective management to service what the Sales Department leads one to believe. They should have their Service Desk attend one of the many Dealerships, like Sewell or Ewing, to understand what a well organized Service Department is all about and acknowledge the fact that their Customer Service is not only a disappointment but inadequate and inept to provide important Customer support represented by what effective Customer Service is all about. The Freeman's need to realize the fact that their Freeman Hyundai Dallas Service Department needs to understand that their organization is in need of significant improvement!! PS - Went to Take 5, paid $80 bucks for an oil change and was out the there in 15 minutes. BLESS FREEMAN HYUNDAI!!! Let's start by saying that I needed a hail mary today and Freeman Hyundai caught the ball in the endzone. Backstory: I had an appointment to ship my vehicle at the Dallas Vehicle Processing Center this morning (3/25) and arrived early to get a car wash before the vehicle inspection. It was at that time that I found out that my sun roof was damaged and locked in the tilt position; I could not get a car wash and most certainly could not ship my vehicle. I called several Hyundai dealerships/maintenance departments and was informed that each had a backlog of maintenance appointments and couldn't see me inside of two weeks (vehicle shipping today). I called Freeman Hyundai and the receptionist said to come down and a mechanic would take a look and let me know if they could assist. I arrived and a mechanic looked over the issue. Without getting technical, the roof was damaged and would need a repair; at first glance, he offered the bandaid fix that I requested that would at least get me passed at the VPC. This is what I'd asked for and far better than telling me I'd need an appointment or that they couldn't assist. The original quote was ~$400 to get in and get the sun roof down. This amount mainly due to the nature of having to get into the roof. About 30 minutes into the repair I received a call saying that the mechanic was able to fully repair the sun roof mechanism and it was fully operational. Bonus news is that this work was covered under my maintenance warranty. Extra bonus is that I was able to pick up my Palisade in time to make the final VPC appointment and get my vehicle shipped. I cannot express how much Freeman Hyundai was able to help and lower my stress and anxiety. In the end, they saved me the hassle of having to drive back home (Dallas to Houston) or get a hotel room, on top of any possible service charges. Kenneth was very helpful throughout the process and the mechanic who worked my Palisade should receive so much credit (wasn't able to get his name). My car had a check engine light come on, and it is still under warranty (lease). I scheduled an appointment, the only available slot within the next 3 weeks, for 10:30am on a Saturday. While scheduling the appointment, it has me select the type of problem as well as type a description, so I do exactly that. Then I show up on Saturday, and the lady at the front desk tells me "there are no techs in on the weekend, so we can't diagnose your car." She also says that they can't even check if it is under warranty because of the same problem. Finally she offers to give me a loaner and let me leave my car there, but what a surprise, they're all out of loaner cars. So after waiting over a week for this appointment, I show up and I'm out the door again in less than 5 minutes after absolutely zero work has been done. Then, in a wonderful surprise twist, my car fails to start the next morning. What a complete failure on the part of the service center. read more

Really disappointed with this dealership and wish I would have been more thorough with my inspection of the vehicle. I don't know if I was swindled (sold a broken car on purpose) or if it was something that was just missed on accident by the dealership's inspection, but either way it doesn't matter. What really makes me upset, and why this place needs to be avoided, is that the manager I spoke with last night refused to do anything about it and went a step further by trying to talk down to me. He said things like "are you just upset because you're not getting the answer you want to hear?" and I just had to leave when he began to insinuate I was a liar, saying "I have a hard time believing you have driven around DFW and not noticed an issue till now." (I work from home and don't drive all that much right now with COVID) Never EVER been treated like this by a dealership before. I'm honestly kind of shocked. The last dealership I bought a car from, David McDavid in Frisco, had no problem rectifying a similar situation to this one with my wife's car. We noticed an issue with the car around 5 months after purchase at David McDavid and they rectified the issue, no problem. Really never experienced anything like this. They really are not about to do anything it seems and are quite satisfied that selling broken cars is fine as long as customer's don't buy extended warranties and fail to spot any mechanical issues within 30 days of purchase. I would skip this dealership and honestly just go with a different one, like the one I mentioned above. Today the shadiest thing happened here, y'all won't believe this. We had a great fair deal decided. Sales rep was fantastic! We're on our way to finance to cut the check. When a manager, who had been helping us and knew we were paying cash, comes up and says that to get the deal we had SIGNED, AGREED and SHOOK ON, we would have to finance. Keep in mind the whole deal was done with the understanding we were paying cash. There was NOT a credit check done. When I said, "that's shady and doesn't sound right." The manager proceeded to get very rude and disrespectful. He told me he would gladly give me the number for better business bureau. He proceeded to stomp to his office and I said, "this is horrible." I had to get a new car because mine was recently totaled in an accident with a dumbass uninsured driver. Not ideal circumstances to get a new vehicle. I submitted a quote request through TruCar and had a price I was trying to get under drive off. Within a few hours of talking to Freeman and several other Hyundai dealerships I was able to get the vehicle under the desired drive off price. That being said, I did have to go into the dealership to finalize the purchase. This could have been a deal breaker, however they were a pleasure to deal with. Not only did they stand by the quoted price, because I was able to get a good interested rate with Hyundai I was able to save another 500 dollars. Roland, who handles internet business, was a pleasure to deal with. I had previously owned two Hyundai's and knew all the bells and whistles of the car from doing my research so he only went over what was needed and didn't waste my time. Also, the finance dude (I can't remember his name) was a pleasure to work with and legitimately hilarious. Not your typical finance dude. I'd kind of like to hang out with him. I was sold a LEMON ! 1. I purchased a used Infiniti QX60 from Freeman Hyundai, after driving it for three months thick white smoke started coming out the exhaust pipe. When I took it to be looked at there was slugging from the oil never being changed, even though there was an oil change sticker from freeman Hyundai said they changed it. 2. I took it back to them to see what they would do, I was told by a manager, there's nothing that could be done cause they are not a Infiniti dealership. 3. I was then told after two days of them having my car, what they could do was an even trade, I purchased a car 4000$ less that what I had, only for them to somehow add the $4K and tell me due to inflation, taxes and title that's the number they got. 4. I also asked about the $4000 down payment I put on the first car, I was told by the finance manager the best he could get me back was 1500$, he then adds it on to my amount being financed. 5. It's been a month and the 1500$ I was told I was getting back by Steven VanLooy and the finance manager, they still have no update on that even though they got the check from Ally Auto for the car. The used car sales manager told me they buy cars from the auction, this time they purchased and sold the wrong one. I DO NOT recommend buying a used car nor a new car from this lot. They also sold me a warranty package called Easy Care only for them not to abide by it. read more
