I've been a customer with this dealership since 2018, before Freeman Mazda sold to Norm Reeves. Last month I took my car in because my engine light came on. They ran test and showed me a video of a cracked spark plug and told me "this is where they wanted to start" in order to figure out what was wrong with my car. They gave me a list of other things and quoted me $1600. That seemed highly to me so I called my brother for some advice, as I know it's not uncommon for women to to be pressured into paying for services that can wait or aren't necessary. At this point I changed my mind and decided to get a second opinion. When I asked if I could get my car back I was told it would be a $189 for the diagnostic. I asked why they didn't state this upfront and was told they did. No they did not. I would have just taken my car to Autozone for free. There was some hesitation on their end to give me my car back. At this point I started to feel scared and they began pressuring me into letting them work on my car. I stated that I was going to have another mechanic look at my car. They were rude and aggressive saying, "Mazda vehicles require Mazda parts!" I just paid the absurd fee and left. I took my car to a different mechanic and they walked me into their bay and physically showed me that none of my spark plugs were cracked. Old maybe but not cracked. I was then informed because the dealership cleared the codes on my car that they can't see why my engine light came on in the first place. I'm absolutely disgusted with the lack of professionalism of Norm Reeves. I paid $200 for what?! They clearly took advantage of me and I will never do business here again and I will tell everyone I know! read more

Bought my wife's 2021 CX5 from this dealership. It was winter and i didn't roll down the windows, stupid me. Passenger side window was cracked in the top right corner and I only found out when I took it to get tinted. The dealership refused to accept responsibility and said It was likely my fault. They also didn't honor the free service and oil changes they promised, and the salesman. Went incommunicado after screwing me over. I wrote a google review and posted pics after this happened. I do NOT recommend anyone go to this dealership. They have the nerve to reach out to me to sell them the CX5 and buy a new one from them. Brought my sister here, from San Antonio to get her car. The dealership told her what she needed to bring. We've been here from 1:00 until now, 5:51. Still no car. This is ridiculous. Never again. Worst customer experience ever!!!! I purchased my vehicle in November 1. Since then I haven't received any word about my plates. I have called several times about this issue and I've been given the runaround and I've had to call back to check on it. We are ready in the middle of January. And they're still no status on my plates, and I'm still getting the runaround. If this is a state issue. Then they can at least track my plates and tell me what the status is, but they have not done that. All I'm getting is a runaround. This is the worst customer experience. Making a service appointment online was extremely simple. They have options to request various services while making the booking and also request a loaner car. Upon arriving at the service center, the staff were friendly and efficient. Salvador Torres got my details and had me wait in the lounge to get my loaner car. He was friendly and ensured that every customer was cared for. The wait time was around 15 minutes and he had a loaner car ready. I chose not to take the loaner since he said the service would be completed in under 90 minutes. I waited in the lounge which was comfortable. They have water, snacks, WiFi and a television in the lounge. Service was completed in a timely manner and the car looked brand new after a wash and interiors cleaned. I leased a new Mazda through Norm Reeves on September 21, 2024, and turned in my old car as part of the transaction. Two months later, they have not yet paid the balance on my old Mazda. I am incurring late fees and may get a ding on my credit report. It is clear this dealership is underfinanced and doesn't have the capital to pay off the amounts owed for cars it accepts when you turn a vehicle in as part of the new lease and/or sales transaction. I would NOT recommend, under any circumstance, getting your car here if you intend to turn a vehicle in as part of the transaction. I loved my salesman, Nikolas; however, the dealership does not stand behind its word. They promised me they would pay the remaining balance and have yet to do so. STAY AWAY!!!!!! read more

Very dishonest in their dealings with me. Stephanie, the sales rep promised damaged trim would be replaced with new on a vehicle I was in the process of purchasing. First time in the shop to get it replaced they simply patched the original, and did a poor job of it. The really annoying part is Terri, their service manager called several times to provide updates, and even advised it was taking so long because they had to order additional new parts. When I picked the vehicle up it was obvious they had simply tried to cover up scratches on the original trim. Knowing I was annoyed with Terri, they sent Mark, self proclaimed Honest Abe, Associate Pastor who was just as full of deceit as Terri. Mark also promised new, but instead swapped trim with another "brand new" vehicle on the lot (good luck to whoever buys that one). Must say it did look better than the original trim, but still had scratch marks they had attempted to cover up, and still wasn't brand new. Knowing I was annoyed with Mark, they sent Todd, who also promised to replace with new, but refused to do anything until after I sent a follow-up survey to Mazda saying I was satisfied with their work and would do business with them again (I had previously given them a zero on a sales survey due to their deceit, which was likely the only reason I got what little I did out of the whole mess). Yeah right.. They had already deceived/miss-led multiple times so no way was I going to trust this guy to do the right thing. When I refused to send the survey until after the work was done, they stopped responding. Including Trent, their GM who still hasn't responded.. I went to go and buy a car, I bought it with cash and they promised me that they will get rid of the smoke smell but they didn't get rid of the smell and about 2 minutes after I left the dealership, the check engine light came on, and the manager said he would fix the part that caused the check engine light and I gave theback and kept it for 4 days but the smell was still there no inside detail, they just gave me a car wash and did not replace the part, I would not recommend this dealership read more

Hands down the best in the area for service. They don't add a lot of fluff and when they say it will be an hour, it will be an hour not 3. Huge waiting room, free wifi, and honestly it's not a total drag to wait for your vehicle there. Beats every Mazda dealer I've been to within a 45 minute drive of my house. Also buying a car here is a breeze. Not a lot of added fluff. I waited on a specific vehicle to come in and given the shortage everywhere, I figured it would be months. Luckily the exact one I wanted came within a week and a half. Was in an hour in a little over an hour for trade in and purchase. Finalizing paperwork they do try to push the extended warranty on you like it's going to be the end of the world for you if you don't get it. However, that's pretty much every car dealer. He filled out all the paperwork, but their computers were down, so he couldn't get an answer on financing. He called a couple of times over the next few days and left messages, but nobody called back. He found another car and was approved and purchased it in the time he was waiting for a call back. I was given a quote for tune up and front brakes and rotors. I called back to schedule service so I could get a loaner car. Prices were also confirmed on phone call. I went in today and quote was over 170 higher for tune up and he was foing to help me on brakes by possibly I disnt need to rotors. However, then the brake job went from 259 to 300 something. I was about to loose composure. So, I just left. The Service Advisor said parts go up nearly every month. It wasn't even a month. No, I think me needing a loaner car the price went up. Can't really talk about the new car sales side, but used car sales...wow, they suck. I sent a contact request about a used car on their site, and they sent me a couple of emails and we scheduled a time to meet. Up to that point, I had the sense that they really wanted to schedule the meeting as soon as possible and some pressure from the salesguy, but that's what car salespeople do, right? Well I eventually got there and the experience was laughably bad. The used car sales offices look pretty much abandoned, the guy could not get off his seat to greet me, and I guess he didn't like how I look and the fact that I wanted to finance through my credit union because he kept finding excuses to not sell the car to me. - including "I think this car is marked to go to auction soon". Wow - so they'd rather sent a car to auction and make less money than sell it outright, if they don't get the financing?. Fortunately I found a newer model with fewer miles, for $2,500 less, at the Hertz used auto sales nearby. Yes, I know...it was a rental and might have had a rough life. But it still has a few years and a lot of miles on the warranty and other than a couple of scratches on the wheels it's pristine. So far it's been great. And they sold me the car with no hassle, in less than two hours. read more

It is pretty well-known that I'm a strongly do-it-myself kind of person, especially when it comes to cars. Taking a vehicle to a shop is simply not a thing I do unless it is a last resort. But a few years ago, I was notified that my 2006 Mazda6 wagon was part of the Takata airbag recall. (If you haven't checked to see if your car is affected, definitely do that. Your airbags might do more harm than good if you get in a wreck, and the repair is free.) So I started looking for Mazda dealerships in the area and found Freeman Mazda. They gave me a nice loaner car and got my airbag fixed for $0. More than a year later, I had done some suspension work, and the last thing I needed to finish the job was an alignment. Normally I wouldn't even consider a dealership for something like that; I was under the impression that dealerships would be overpriced. But not only does Freeman Mazda make it easy to find prices for various kinds of service on their website, but their price for alignment was actually less than a lot of the other shops I was looking at. So I took my car there, more than a year after my first visit, while wearing a mask, and they remembered me. One lady said she recognized my car. It is a pretty unique car, but still, I was impressed. A couple of weeks ago, I brought the car back to them to see if they could figure out why the suspension was so noisy after I had replaced basically all the parts. I just don't have time to work on cars right now, which makes me sad. But I wanted my car fixed, and I figured if anybody could do it right, it would be them. They gave me a loaner, and called me every day or two to tell me how it was going. Their mechanic must have spent way more hours than they billed for trying to figure out what was wrong; they had my car for almost two weeks. His attitude seemed to be, "What's the most I can fix without charging the customer more money?" Yesterday, I got my car back. The suspension noises were gone, and it had been washed. My husband and I happened to find a car we were interested in online and drove to the dealership one night to see it - even with the bad weather we were having in February. Kurt Stanley was our sales rep and honestly, he was GREAT. He let us test drive the car without pressuring us. He copied our IDs and handed over the keys and told us to take it for a spin. We were sold on the vehicle after taking it for a drive at our leisure and told him that our one issue was a nick in the hood- he offered to get it fixed if it would make the deal. He made it happen- and made my hubby a happy camper. We had an issue with the airbag light which needed to be recalibrated, they fixed it and even gave me a loaner car in the meantime without question. Nearly a year later and we are still super happy with this vehicle! We have gone there for service several times and also have no complaints! I'm telling you right now, this place has the best customer service in the industry. By FAR the best I've ever experienced. When I arrived, a service member opened my door and greeted me by name. I was told I would receive a text message with a full on video of my inspection and what I may or may not need to do, luckily I was fine. And I got that within 28 minutes of dropping off my baby. They washed it. Did a very specific beauty maintenance thing i asked them to do, and fully polished over it for me. And a full 15,000 mile maintenance service interval for me. And I paid less than $110. I am more than happy to bring my car to the dealer, to the people who know my car best, if it's this reasonable. After much anxiety about having to go out and buy a car, I was pleasantly surprised with the customer service and my experience in general here at Freeman Mazda. When my husband and I arrived, we were not immediately surrounded. BONUS. We were able to look at the cars for a little bit before we got approached by Charles. Now, my husband and I had a car and a price in mind. This was after having already been at another dealership and having looked at a great number of vehicles. We told him we wanted to test drive the Mazda CX-5 touring and we were on our way. During the test drive we grilled him with our best questions and asked him why the Mazda was our best option. His responses were really good, but I wasn't quite convinced. It sounded really great but I wanted to be sure. We continued our drive. I immediately knew that I felt safer in this vehicle than the others we had test driven, but I needed more assurance. During one of the turns he said, " Okay, now it's time for the brake test." Ummm??? He says gas it as fast as you can until 60mph and then stand on the brake. So I did. It was scary but I did it. We stopped on a dime. Holy cow. He said I could do better than that, but it was my husbands turn to drive. He attempted the brake test and we stopped even faster. We went from 60mph to 0mph in what seemed like the blink of an eye. WOW. I was sold. The process from there (which I was dreading) was pretty flawless. You will spend some time there, but you will ultimately get out of there with the car for you and a price that you can manage. On top of getting us the best possible deal, they honored a discount coupon that my husband had through his work with no questions asked. I would 100% recommend this place to friends and family. They are a rip off! Would give it negative stars if I could. It's been more than 10 years since I last bought a car, the last car I have is a Mazda as well and I had a good experience with my previous Mazda dealership (in a different state). This time I bought a car with Freeman Mazda but really regret it.! Wish we had compared more dealers and prices. Found out other dealers have better customer service and pricing! Pushy sales people (Steven) and sales manager (Martin Ramon) that does not work with you - they won't let you leave and pretend to make "phone calls" to see about getting you a better price and make you wait for hours ,wears you down to buy a car, confused me with their car upgrade (up-selling), And not very clear and transparent on their options and pricing. Finance guy (African American, don't recall his name) was rude and very impatient, keep rushing me to sign papers while I'm still trying to read through them. I've really wanted to like Freeman Mazda (and every Mazda dealer) as I'm a Mazda evangelist. Unfortunately, the last time I was in for service, they didn't want to apply the $85 charge for problem determination to the final bill. Maybe this is a new thing and I just didn't know, but in my experience as long as you get the work done, any routine diagnostic fee is waived as they would have to do that anyway to perform the repair. And in my case, there was little/no diagnostic work required and they replaced literally every soft part between my clutch pedal and the clutch slave cylinder. In the end, they waved the charge after I raised a mild stink. Fast-forward to a week ago and I'm helping a friend buy a Mazda CX-5. Our salesman at Freeman didn't know about the rebates on the Mazda website or was trying to conceal them, told us that Freeman was the central Mazda dealer for all the other Mazda dealers, and was generally uncouth. When I returned his call to let him know we'd bought the CX-5 elsewhere, he basically hung up on me. (Mind you, he was our first point of contact and we insisted on dealing with him if there was to be a sale and I was returning his call during the end-of-year busy time so he could focus on other sales leads.) I'll give Freeman the benefit of the doubt and guess that he won't be working there in a few months. The good news is that I'll take my two Mazdas to the dealer where we bought the CX-5 since we had a good experience there. read more

Bad news. Salesperson took weeks to follow up (if at all) and the finance manager was extremely rude. Went here only because they were offering a great deal on a demo Mazda 3 with low-mileage; after they saw I wasn't interested in using their in-house financing the finance guys insisted they couldn't honor the previously agreed upon price, and that I would have to pay $3000 (!) MORE than the price listed, because the financing company I used charged a more expensive fee. Even though the finance company I used listed their dealership as a "partner dealer" on their website. Seeing as how a dealer passing along a finance charge to a customer is illegal, I left, and ended up getting an even lower-mileage Mazda 3 for around the same price @ Carmax. Definitely shop around, folks. read more

Mazda has an excellent track record, which is climbing even higher, and the CX-5's are consistently #1 or #2 on on every magazine and website review across 'The Matrix'. The Freeman Mazda location in Irving off of Airport Freeway is immaculate in terms of presentation. The employees are exceedingly friendly. Unfortunately the used car department and also the finance department are extremely unresponsive and didn't respond to my inquiries on the cars I was interested in.
