After experiencing the new WRX with our salesman Jill I was ready to purchase. There were several cars that I liked more than the Subaru, but the laidback vibe and non pushy attitude of Jill and the rest of the dealership is ultimately why I purchased the Subaru over an Acura. Overall, the service was good. Despite putting them wrong price in the email and still not being willing to negotiate much, they were able to fit me into a vehicle that I liked. Justin was a great salesman and we were in and out quickly. Where they lost stars was their finance director, Shane, sending rude, urgent follow up texts. He kept saying "the account is getting old. I need this done now!" In regard to calling the finance company... but if it was so urgent, why didn't the finance company call me until nearly 12 days out? He could have handled it better. Even sent a text one day saying "they tried calling after 4, contact them now"... when I work 7-5 daily. The finance director really cost them stars here. read more

I have had my Subaru serviced here for the last 3 years. I make my appointments on-line ahead of time, but once I had to bring it in unexpectedly on a Saturday and they were able to accommodate me. I have always waited in their customer area (WiFi, snacks, drinks, televisions). All service was performed well, as expected. You get text messages when they inspect your car. There can be some extended waiting times, even with an appointment. I usually bring a book to read or maybe my laptop to get some work done. Also, it's always freezing cold in the waiting area (I asked and was told that they can't adjust the thermostat) so I have to wear long pants and a jacket while I wait regardless of the weather outside. read more

Buyer Beware - My Experience with Five Star Subaru of Grapevine I purchased a 2019 Ford Ranger from Five Star Subaru of Grapevine on July 28, 2022. At the time of sale, the dealership signed a Federal Odometer Disclosure Statement certifying the truck had 29,862 miles, and I relied on that representation when purchasing the vehicle. Recently, while attempting to trade the truck in, I learned it had been flagged for a "Potential Odometer Rollback." After obtaining the Carfax, I discovered that Five Star Subaru's own service records show they serviced this truck on April 19, 2022 and recorded the mileage as 41,800 miles. Just a few months later, the truck was listed for sale and sold to me with 29,862 miles, and the vehicle history report flags the discrepancy as a Potential Odometer Rollback. I presented these documents to the dealership and asked them to explain the discrepancy and work toward a fair resolution. The only offer I received was to purchase the truck for its current trade-in value. That would have required me to absorb years of depreciation and the financial impact of the mileage discrepancy, so I declined the offer. I am posting screenshots of: * The Carfax mileage history showing the dealership's recorded service mileage. * The Carfax Potential Odometer Rollback warning. * The Federal Odometer Disclosure Statement signed at the time of sale certifying 29,862 miles. I was so excited to buy my Subaru Forester two and a half years ago but now I don't know. When it was under warranty I did go in because the eyesight would come on showing that it wasn't working but they said that it would have to be not working for them to figure out what the problem was. It wasn't something that was on all the time. It would just come and go randomly. Now it's not under warranty and it's continuing to do the problem and today my car scared me to death by suddenly breaking on its own when nothing was in front of me! Bought a Subaru bc of its safety features, the buying process was ok, but after the sale the attentive care no longer exists. Within a few months I get a cracked windshield , they hired the most inexperienced person to try to repair it , finally after some back and forth with Subaru, they replaced the windshield. Then I go in for a routine maintenance and the idiots at the service department parked my brand new Subaru in the rain with the window opened all the way, My seat , floor mat , and door were wet. When I pointed it out to the service department idiots they grabbed a dirty rag and made it worse. Subaru of Grapevine is the most unorganized dealership that I have encountered. Management has some old ass ppl that have lost their minds, need to retire! The service department is full of inexperienced employees that obviously have had no experience whatsoever, young and childish people. Appointment waiting times are very long, this is bc they're very unorganized and customers get frustrated with the long waiting times. I waited 2 hours only to be told it will be another hour just to patch the tire . I don't consider Subaru the high safety car that is advertised, since I purchased the 2025 Outback it has had more issues in the short time I have owned it , now I understand why they were pushing for me to buy that warranty . Well, this Dealership definitely lived up to it's name, "Five Star" Subaru. Buying a car from them turned out to be a very delightful experience. Ms. Casey Pierce was our Salesperson. Great communication, very professional, cared enough to work the numbers where I was very comfortable to commit. Her bubbly personality was a big plus. Even after the sale was completed, she also took the time to ensure my wife, whom I got the car for, understood everything about the car and the functions of the bells and whistles it came with. So I made it a mission to research Subaru dealers across Texas and all the way to California and Virginia. If I am going to spend a small fortune I want to be treated right an appreciated for my purchase. I came across 5 Star in Dallas, looked at their reviews as a top dealer and was sold. This is where I want to make my purchase. Now it came time to see who deserved to make the sale, I didnt need any persuasion, I knew exactly what I wanted. So I looked through the employee profiles and there it was, Darrell Cooper, my brother from another mother (same last name), with similar likes and background. The perfect choice! I ordered the Outback Wilderness, Coop worked his magic and it arrived almost a month ahead of the scheduled delivery date. The delivery experience was bar none the best ever. Coop took me on a tour of the facility, introduced me to the service department team and even discussed cars and boats with Coop and other sales agents. I felt like a member of the 5 Star family. If I lived closer I would seek a position in any capacity with 5 Star. My only regret is my review can not do Coop and 5 Star Subaru any justice. For most of the 2 years I was a customer here, I was extremely happy. I didn't start having issues and suspicions until November 2018. Even then, I tried to justify the conflicting answers and strange behaviors I was encountering because I've had such great experiences in the past. However, enough was enough in June and it's time to update this review. Let's talk about the good first. The property is very nice, the selection is pretty large, and the sales team is quite engaging. The service team was really good for the first year or so I was using them and I trusted them at the time. They are very convenient and will loan you a vehicle while yours is being worked on. I had a few odd situations starting in November. For example, I called and asked about the cost of a part and was quoted $90 and told that I couldn't do it on my own, I would have to bring it in. Well, we did it in 5 minutes for $15, so I was wondering if I got that response because I was a woman or if they just weren't listening. I called to get a rundown of what I would need for my upcoming 90k service and it ended up being drastically different than what a different service advisor told me when I was in for a recall. When I asked about the difference in quote and recommended items, I was given a very strange and casual response about how it depends on the service advisor. That really should never happen, either it's recommended work based on the miles (or wear and tear) or it isn't, the service advisors should absolutely be on the same page about this! There were two recalls that I was dealing with in early 2019. The first one took me a few calls to nail down because I kept getting interrupted. I was told completely different things about how urgent it was to complete and how long it would take, which bothered me. I set up an appointment for mid February, only to be told my appointment was never set up and that if they didn't go ahead and fit me in, I would have to wait until August! I made it clear I would rather have my car as long as possible instead of the loaner, even if I had to drop it at a different time, but my needs weren't listened to. That service advisor had my car for 3 weeks and acted like he was doing me a huge favor, which I found disconcerting. When we brought it in for the second recall, an oil change and inspection I tried to bring up something the vehicle had started doing after the first recall. My husband backed me up and said it seemed to be related to the transmission. We were completely blown off and told to setup a different appointment, they wouldn't even let us ask questions! I get needing a separate appointment, but way to make your customers feel valued. Eventually, I was able to confirm with two of my colleagues that their service department had so much turn over that I couldn't turn to the people I used to. What really takes the cake, is all the stuff that happened after my last visit on 6/1/19. About 3 weeks after my last visit, my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with codes I had never seen before on any of my past cars. When I tried to call to talk to someone, I got blown off and decided I had quite enough of this service department. First, my battery was horribly, horribly corroded! I had seen them 3 times in the last 6 months, no way it started looking like that in 3 weeks. I can't believe they were busy upselling me on cabin filters every single time, but not once mentioned the state of my battery or suggested I keep an eye on it! Unacceptable! Second, my transmission valve body was bad. Luckily another dealership took care of it same day and even let me know Subaru had extended the warranty on this. However, this may not have happened if they cared enough to let us finish talking, instead of blowing us off. Third, a few weeks later when I was dealing with a new car shop and getting a diagnosis, I decided to go back and check all the past paperwork against the recommended work and cross reference with any recommendations from my new shop. As it turns out, despite them doing my 60K service, they completely neglected to do my spark plugs or brake pads! They didn't bring up either for any of my 90K service conversations either! They were both way past due considering I was nearly at 89K and they were not in great shape. The entire reason I went to a dealership instead of a shop was so that they would have all my work on file, keep me apprised of upcoming needs and that I could take advantage of certain parts having a warranty. Okay, I bought a 2021 used 1 ton GMC from Five Star about 2 weeks ago (took weeks to actually find one). I love the truck, and it is exactly what I need. The truck was slightly over priced; however, all HD trucks are right now. I almost had a bad review to write but was impressed in what Luis and "upper management" decided to do for me... Scenario: I drove the truck home with a little over 10K miles on it. I only had one set of keys and wasn't really worried at the time. No complaints in the first few days. Later in the week I had found out my spare tire was flat. I did what anyone should do, and tried to fix it. It had a large hole outside of the "repairable" area of the tire. Now, I was a little upset buying an 80K truck without a spare tire. Especially when Subaru will tell you how great their inspections are. Nonetheless I called my salesman, Luis, to see if I can get it fixed since it's only been a few days of purchase. He was off that day, but still answered his phone. He had to talk with management. Today, almost two weeks later I came back to pick up my second set of keys and my registration. I again asked about the tire and was initially told that something probably hit it while I was driving (highly unlikely but I suppose it's not impossible). Since their inspections were so detailed they couldn't of missed this. I was upset knowing I didn't run anything over. After sharing my frustration I started walking away back to my truck to go home, when Luis told me he was going to take it up the chain. He walked out minutes later kindly asking me to head over to service so we can talk to the manager. After a brief discussion, all is well. They are ordering a new tire and should be done with it within a week or so. In conclusion: I rate them at 4.9 only because it shouldn't of taken me walking out frustrated before escalating this "simple" issue. After they did escalate this issue, it was great, and everyone was very kind and did everything in their power to keep me as a customer. Now, I generally don't drive Subarus but some of those cars looked really nice on the inside, and they probably get 2 thousand miles per gallon in those things! read more

One of the best car buying experiences I've ever had. Came in with my GF to test drive a new Forester, had the pleasure of working with Taylor. If I may add, most of the workers I had to deal with at Subaru Five Stars were helpful, but I cannot say the same for the service department. My opinion is that this department needs to be retrain in curtsey, phone dealing, and how to handle customer's difficult situations. So I told Michael I would update my review.They kept my car for 1 month and I got a rental the whole time it was there. Thats good right? Michael did his best but his mechanics apparently are the issue here. I decided to give them another chance took my car here for the 4th time. Issue is still not fixed and now my car is back firing really bad and not going over 60. They kept my car for a month and everything got worse. I tried calling Michael but never answers, I actually been very patient but when they start ignoring is where the issue begins.
