We purchased a home with a pool that was originally built by Pool Stop, so naturally, we reached out to your company when we had some questions and needed guidance. Initially, your team was very helpful, which gave us confidence in continuing to work with you. However, that confidence quickly faded after we began discussing a quote for refinishing the pool surface and installing a chiller/heater. I first spoke with Landon, who provided an estimate for the refinishing and mentioned the chiller/heater option--something we were interested in pursuing. Landon later sent over a quote of $4,000 for the chiller/heater installation, which we agreed to move forward with via text. Unfortunately, it took nearly three days to receive a response. When the revised quote finally arrived, the price had increased by $527, but we were still willing to proceed. I requested an itemized quote to better understand the breakdown of costs. Despite clearly explaining what I was asking for, we never received a proper itemized estimate--only a single total amount, even after multiple follow-ups. At this point, frustration was growing. I even texted Landon asking if it's always this difficult to do business with Pool Stop, which prompted a call and apology from him. He mentioned that Harvey, the owner, would visit the property for a site review. Harvey came by, inspected the setup, and said he would provide a final quote the next day. Five days passed with no update. When Harvey finally did call, the final price was $5,177, nearly 25% higher than the original quote. At that point, we decided not to move forward, as the inconsistencies and lack of communication left us with serious concerns about Pool Stop's professionalism and reliability. As someone with decades of experience in sales, I've always believed in standing by a quoted price, even if a mistake was made. They took my basic idea and made it into a garden of Eden. They matched the price and quality on items that I found better deals on and what other contractors had bid. Their build software was very accurate and let me tweak my plans very easily. I took full advantage fo this and they never batted an eye to fulfill my vision. There suggested changes all made sense and saved me a lot of money. Build: The project manager (Travis) was outstanding. They use the Co-construct app to update progress/planning during the entire construction, it was a real peace of mind knowing exactly what was going on. They addressed every concern I had. I didn't like how the coping looked, they actually came out, pulled the coping they had done and re-did it to my satisfaction. No arguing, no negotiating, they just wanted to make sure I was happy (BTW it came out perfect). The pool is an object of perfection, attention to detail is amazing. There was the typical periods of never ending rain that delayed construction, but the build was still completed very close to the deadline. Post Construction Support: They have been on top of the water quality, and some minor bleaching I had on my tan deck. My husband and I designed our pool with Pool Stop in August 2020. We were told it would take approximately 2-3 months from start to finish. Pool Stop took 8 months! We had hiccups after hiccups. The whole process was awful from beginning to end. Pool Stop was very unorganized. It started with the permit runner (Robyn). There was miscommunication with Pool Stop and the City of Rowlett. We had to call the City of Rowlett ourselves numerous times, and they informed us Pool Stop failed to submit the proper permits to the city and it delayed our building process. It took Pool Stop 3 months to get our permits completed because they were always missing a document, a design or a drawing. We followed up with Rae (construction coordinator) and she re-assured us everything was being taken care of, but it still took months before they submitted and approved our permits. Turns out, Pool Stop had been sending documents to the wrong email! During the design phase they surveyed our property to meet city requirements. We designed our pool with Landon. We designed exactly what we wanted. Turns out they surveyed our backyard wrong. We had to make multiple adjustments when we met our project manager (Victor). We had multiple elevation changes, which changed our decking design, number and location of stairs, hot tub elevation, etc. We ended up with a retaining wall, which we spent hours avoiding in the design phase. Landon completely oversold our building process. He told us our decking/coping selections were rarely picked so we should have no problem securing them, when in reality, the coping was back ordered and the decking was discontinued. There was also an outdoor kitchen in our project, which is obviously not Pool Stop's area of expertise considering it took weeks to find out if we could even run a gas line to where we wanted the grill. It took several more weeks to get the gas line permitted because Landon apparently forgot to include that part in the plans, which resulted in a surprise fee as well. This had our entire project on hold and we couldn't start the pool due to concerns that we might have to tear up all the decking depending on the gas line.During the construction phase, we had multiple change orders like concrete pumps, gas installation, and other things that weren't accounted for in our contract. Pool Stop should have had everything accounted for since they're building the pool from start to finish. They knew exactly what we were building, yet our budget kept increasing because they didn't account for certain things that should have been added in our budget to begin with. Our project manager (Victor) was good - at least honest compared to the rest of the Pool Stop personnel - but our whole project was unorganized. A lot of the problems we encountered seemed like they could have been avoided with a little forethought and attention to detail. It was easy to see Pool Stop was overwhelmed with the number of projects they committed to. The coping (Princess White) was back ordered. The decking (Turkish Carrera) was discontinued. We kept getting bad news throughout the building process. When they finally installed the decking, we found multiple cracks on the pavers. The decking was cracked/chipped on several areas and had large gaps between the coping and the decking. We paid a premium price for the stone selection, but it didn't feel like we got our money's worth with the poor workmanship. Pool Stop didn't order enough material, so yet again our project got pushed back. It was one thing after another. None of our material was ordered in a timely manner and we had to wait months before Pool Stop went onto the next stage. At one point we gave up and figured we'd stop complaining because it did nothing for us, but disappoint us for the day. We gave up on the timelines and weekly updates. Our project is finally done (8 months later) and Pool Stop has yet to come back and replace the cracked pieces. Overall, we wish Pool Stop would have been transparent from the beginning. Called the office on Saturday to see if the maintenance folks were still there, they were not but left a message. Knew it would be monday before someone would come out. To our surprise here come Jeff to the rescue. Jeff one of the maintenance supervisor came out on same day and rescued the pool. He fixed a couple things he noticed. DO NOT USE. Poorly managed. Not only is turnover high among the pool maintenance staff, but the problems are compounded by poor oversight and management of the team. How many times will your staff bang on my window while I am engrossed in video-conference with my own client to ask me where the pool equipment is located? Seriously? It's not hard to find the equipment if you've ever worked with pools before. I even granted grace that finding qualified staff might be difficult and asked management, repeatedly, to instruct staff to not bang on my window and interrupt my work. Maybe the manager could invest a few minutes to acclimate the ever-changing staff to our pool versus sending them out with no training or guidance? I give up. This might be on me, as I wasn't aware how the sales team works at Pool Stop Rockwall. I reached out via email/phone and provided my survey. Then went in about a week later to see everything in person, we were there an hour & 20 minutes. The guy adjusted the screen to the way we wanted the pool, we looked at their limited materials and then started going over numbers as he quickly started changing things so fast we couldn't keep up. He showed us an email he said he just got that day (it was a Sunday, but the email was dated the prior Tuesday, but okay), reflecting a price increase that day after 5pm. At 5:03pm he said if we wanted this current price of $XX we needed to sign by the end of the month (we were there on the last day of the month) so technically we were already late to get that deal by 3 minutes. If we waited, it would go up another $5k. I asked if he would email us the estimate and pics, so we could think it over, and his response was "No." When I asked if he was serious, he absolutely was, said it was because they are competitive and didn't want us to shop around. If we wanted to see the drawings again we were welcome to make the drive back up to review, however, the new inflated estimate was only valid for 24 hours. Who doesn't shop around for such a huge investment? I have been using Pool Stop for my weekly cleaning service on my pool for about five years now. I was happy for about the first three years and the last two years their service has gone down the drain. I paid over $200 a month for their cleaning services which should have included skimming the top of the pool, brushing the walls, checking chemicals, vacuuming. Etc. I now work from home and actually saw what they did. I have personally witnessed the them come out check chemicals and empty baskets and leave. Sometimes don't skim the top of the pool, brush the walls or even vacuum. My pool is only five years old and I've noticed the walls in my Jacuzzi which never got vacuumed are starting to turn a beige color. They are literally at my house for five minutes and leave. I have had to call and complain several times within the last year and things get better for a little bit and then go back to where we started. I finally had to cancel this last time when the tech came out didn't do a thing, but empty my baskets and check the chemicals. Pool Stop did great on the construction of our pool. From the design to completing it, we were pretty much pleased. The only complaint we have is with the coping around the pool. It absolutely sucks and they won't do anything about it to fix it. We spent a lot of money on the whole pool and patio they did for us and we expected them to finish it out as nice as the pictures they show you before we ever began. I mentioned the crappy coping immediately to the construction manager. Btw, he was superb! He agreed with us about the coping. It was the upper people who decided it was not going to be fixed. We had Pool Stop for 2 months and had a very poor experience. We purchased a home with a pool (first time pool owners) and figured we'd continue the service with the company the previous owners used. Service started off fine but it seemed like after every other cleaning there was an issue. We had multiple incidents where things weren't completed and we had no documentation of what was being done. The final straw was when all of a sudden our fountain stopped working and the manager, Ruben, contacted me and basically told me I wasn't willing to put in the money to maintain the pool. Today was our last day of service and when the fountains were still not working we went to the ultimate source, YouTube, and figured out how to diagnose and fix the issue ourselves. It's amazing that there was 3" of debris in the pump skimmer (which we pay $150+ every month to have maintained weekly). Once we cleaned that out all of a sudden the fountains work!! It appears to me that the management of this company is simply looking to find ways to charge you more money for issues that they likely cause. It's unfortunate that we couldn't trust this company, I'm sure other customers have great experiences, we obviously didn't. They were the first to call, make a design/initial visit and give a virtual design with quote, thanks to Andrew. They worked well within our budget and also contracted with another company on extending our roof on our porch to help with construction process. All this was sounding like what we wanted, so we went with them. Our head of construction Victor was always letting me know the schedule and when they would need me in advance to be home. Ryan, who helped us pick colors, textures, etc. gave great advice but also let us decide, even taking us to finished pools to see what it would look like in the end stage. Pool school after project was done was also an amazing experience with Tim who showed us all the ropes on how to keep our investment pristine. Honestly I am very happy overall from start to finish we went with this company. Yes, we had weather delays with rain in the spring, but again, was always informed. Yes, we have had very minor issues we have called on since completion and they are there promptly and issues were fixed easy. We take a water sample up every week for a free chemical check and get great advice from everyone we have spoken within store. We worked with Casey for the design and he was really collaborative with us and gave us ideas at the same time. Our project manager, Victor, was very responsive and professional and always did what he said he would and showed up when he said he would. We also had great customer service from Ryan who helped coordinate all the contractors during the process. Our pool is gorgeous and they have really been top notch. I agreed to be put on a monthly call list regarding charcoal delivery for my Big Green Egg. The first month, my charcoal was to be delivered on a specific day, but the delivery was never made. I called the store & they brought it out the next day, so kudos to them (though who knows if I would have gotten my charcoal had I not called). The 3rd month, I was billed for charcoal I didn't order. When I called to dispute it, the gentleman that answered the phone said he would take care of it & issue a credit. Fast forward 2 months, I get a call again from the store asking if I need charcoal. I didn't, but did ask if she could confirm that my credit was issued. She kept telling me yes, but wouldn't give me the date of the credit--I wanted to double-check with my bank. After asking multiple times, she finally told me they didn't credit my account, but issued a store credit. I told her I didn't want a store credit, it was their mistake, I wanted a credit to my account. Her response? "If it was such a big deal you would have called us sooner. We have no way of verifying whether or not you received the charcoal". I called the second I saw the charge on my card. REALLY??? That's customer service? First time pool buyer/owner, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Now that my pool is complete, I think that the process was handled well and the people I worked with were great. The selection and design process was interesting as you try to design a pool in the budget you're aiming for, but Casey was very helpful and patient. Thanks Casey! When it was time for the construction of the pool to begin, I met Brian who would oversee the actual build of my pool from start to finish. He also was extremely patient to work around my work schedule to meet for the first time. From that first meeting on, Brian was professional but also caring as we talked about every detail. He was patient with my questions and always kept me informed and updated on status and next steps. Coordination of this type of construction is a lot of work as many things have to go just right and be timed perfectly for things to come together in the end. I could tell that Brian worked extremely hard to keep everything coordinated and running well often times really early in the morning. He did a great job of keeping me informed the day before of anything I needed to know for the next morning such as early contractors or trucks blocking my driveway, etc. He made sure I was okay with every step of construction and for my first experience, that was truly important to me. I can say that building anything is not without challenges and deviations from plans and that could have been very frustrating without someone like Brian to take me through the process. I have been a customer for eleven years and have had great experiences over the years. I find the service is always prompt and pricing GREAT! The owner Harvey is a Combat Marine Veteran who started the company from scratch and values relationships. Yesterday evening my main pump quit, the service tech arrived this morning and informed me that the pump failed because of a minor part (capacitor) failure. They could have charged me for a new expensive pump but did the right thing and said the repair charge would be minimal. Harvey is a credit to the Marines and all Veteran's. read more

4/29/2015 for over a year the owner of pool stop has been telling us our pump noise was normal I contacted zodiac and got our pump replaced. And low and behold no noise now. The funny thing about it is the tech that pool stop sent out even said this was not normal. So we have 3 people from zodiac and 1 person from pool stop all saying it not normal!!!!!! I have used them twice now for repairs, fool me once shame on you, twice well you know. Both times now they have charged me at least $100 more than quoted for parts and labor. Second repair misdiagnosed but had to pay service call at above the advertised price for the diagnosis then to order part and return to install. Did not fix problem and another svc call to install correct part. Quoted one price for part and got bill for $40 more plus svc call advertised as $95 and billed $125 for 10 minute installation of a circuit card. Get any repair costs and parts in writing. read more
