I had a major algae problem I could not control. I called AAP and they came and checked it out. It was too far gone (see pic) to treat with chemicals, so they drained it, pressure washed it and refilled it. MY GOSH!! I couldn't believe how clean they got the plaster, and when refilled and balanced it looks perfect! It took 1 day to drain, 1 day to clean, 2 days to refill and we were back in the pool! Once again Dan exceeded my expectations with his customer service. I am having trouble with my pool cleaner and he let me borrow one of his until we figured out what is wrong with mine. He took mine and to figure it out and did not charge me because he said it looked perfect inside when he took it apart. He did not charge me for his time to do this. In fact he did not charge me for anything. I am a customer for life for his honesty and impeccable customer service. Mine is under warranty and I have to reach out to Hayward so Dan told me to keep his until I get mine taken care of. I live in Rowlett, our pool heater went out and I needed to replace the heater and install a new pump at the same time. I called All About Pools for a quote. When he called back he mentioned the direction of the heater vent might be an issue. He told me he would talk to his installer and let me know something the next day. Customers beware!!! Use great caution before letting All About Pools work on anything to do with your pool. When they come out they should wear a mask because they are going to rob you. If I had not looked up and researched the problem I was having with my pool on the Internet they would have robbed me. I even called the manufacturer to double check. My pool froze solid and I contacted Wanda, wife and co-owner of Dan Flynn over Facebook messenger after I had seen her respond to several other posts regarding pool issues. I absolutely love these guys. Staff is always SUPER friendly and helpful. Compared to other stores their prices are VERY reasonable. I have a saltwater pool and their salt is $1-$2 cheaper per bag. We had water draining fast from the pool and jacuzzi. After another big company at Rockwall diagnosed that we needed a "leak test", that was estimated to cost us $1000+, we contacted All About Pools at Rowlett for a diagnosis, and they came out quickly. They replaced our Multi-port Valve that was jammed from a bad O-Ring, and replaced a corroded heater thermostat valve that was defective for $225 (parts and labor), and everything is now working great. We experienced great service, and an honest assessment with repairs. We have now switched our weekly cleaning and maintenance service to All About Pools. read more

The gentleman that came out was Gerald, he was awesome in giving me professional care for my filter cleaning and adding DE! I would have given a 5 star but stopped short due to Gerald's boss who was short and came across as arrogant when asked a question about the pool light. The amazing people here are lifesavers, and just wonderful people in general. A few years ago my mother got sick and could not take care of her house anymore, and I had no idea about taking care of a pool. With everything else going on it was just out of sight out of mind. But then when I really took a look at it, I noticed it was in really bad shape. Enter AAP. I called the guys here and they were really friendly and easy to talk with and answer my questions. They came out and took a look and told me what needed to be done. We had to drain the pool, power wash it, replace the pump, motor, etc etc... The pool ended up looking amazing, and it stayed that way over the next 2 years. They came out weekly to take care of it and it has always looked in pristine condition. They would just send me an email if something needed to be replaced, or call and tell me they had grabbed something to fix and would bring it back the next day. They literally made taking care of my mother, that much easier. All the work they have done with the pool, makes it as if nothing was ever wrong and it looks better than ever. Dan made it his personal mission to make sure my pool was beautiful when my family and I arrived. Always professional and honest, they will give you a series of options to resolve any issues, and have very fair prices to fit any budget. Just this week, I had noticed my pool was losing water at a very fast rate. Dan was able to diagnose the problem from the store and, instead of having me spend a fortune to have someone go out there, sold me a $20 tube of epoxy that resolved the problem right away! The customer's always right? At 10am yesterday my wife discovered that the drain cover to our pool was sitting on the ground outside the pool. This seemed curious, as our children and grandchildren were swimming the day before and I was sure they would have let me know if they discovered the missing cover. I then heard a noise coming from the direction of the pump. I found water pouring out the sides of the chlorinator. I opened the chlorinator and found it was empty. No problem, since our normal service day was Mondays and the holiday fell on Monday. I called the shop to see if we were rescheduled for a cleaning, and had to leave a message. Around 4pm I decided to go to the shop to see if they had a drain cover which would match the one we found on the deck. I locked my front door as I usually do, and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. When I walked into the shop, the owner(?) said he had just called me. He told me the pool was serviced at 11:30am. I told him I found that strange, since there was no chlorine in the chlorinator, nor did the service guy leave a tag on my back door as he usually does, indicating he added chemicals, cleaned the pool, etc. He then pulled out a service slip that indicated the pool was serviced with shock, and 5 (I'm sure I saw the # 5) tabs. I told him I was concerned as there was no indication of service, and also told him I suspected this has happened in the past. He told me he would speak with the service guy and have a service manager get with me the next day. He also let me know that the young man was a relative, and his demeanor let me know there was no questioning his integrity. This morning I met with the service manager, Brian. He showed me there were 3 tabs intony the skimmer not the chlorinator. (I generally check the skimmer for leaves and debris on a frequent basis, especially during the swimming season, but cannot swear I checked it the day before). He told me that when the young man serviced the pool, he discovered the chlorinator was defective and he put the tabs in the skimmer, until he could get back to us with a floating chlorinator. I asked why this wasn't indicated on the tag. His response was that, it was on his service tag, which I obviously did not have access to. After all, why should the customer be clueless as to what is happening to his pool. I raised the issue of the drain cover. Why, if he serviced my pool, didn't he advise me he noticed the cover was not in its place. It would have been a nice thing to know. He said he may have assumed that we knew about it, and didn't feel the need to tell us or write it on the tag. I again brought up the issue of the tag being discovered on the front door after 4pm indicating he serviced the pool at 12:10. He said the service guy couldn't have possibly placed it there after 3pm, as he had to be at a game at 3pm. So, I guess I am hallucinating. Finally, on departing he advised me that the young man would be out later today with the floating skimmer. After giving it some thought, I called the store and cancelled the service. They owner(?) agreed not to charge me for the current month, and allowed that he understood my concerns. Not once, did I receive an apology, instead what I got was a wall of defense around the young relative. I fully understand the need to balance protecting a family member with customer concerns, and how difficult that can be. However, when you are in a business, the focus needs to be on the customer. I honestly expected to be asked what would it take to retain you as a customer. After all I have had the service for over a year, and have made several purchases at the store. Any one of these deficiencies could have been explained and worked out. However, when you put them all together, drain cover on ground; chlorinator spewing water; chlorinator empty; no tag on front door when I left around 3:45, but there when I came back at 4pm, indicating service performed at 12:10; three tabs, not five, mysteriously placed in skimmer; problems with pool (defective chlorinator, missing drain cover) not brought to my attention; it all seems odd. Oh, and I checked on the chlorine level in the chlorinator this afternoon and found it to be functioning normal with normal dissolving of the tablets. read more

I had requested a service to be performed on my pool filter more than a week out. I was told at the time that they could not tell me exactly when they'd be at the house but would call the morning of. I then called a day before the service and asked nicely if it was possible for someone to let me know whether it would be in the morning or the afternoon that the service person would be at our house. The young man was very courteous, and told me that he'd make note of it and that someone would call in the morning. (I made it clear that I understood it might not be possible to give an exact time, but thought I'd ask anyway. I had already been under the impression before talking to this young man that I'd get a call in the morning regardless.) On the day of, by 11:30 we had not heard anything. I called to ask the status. The man on the other end was very curt and when I told him I was told we'd be contacted in the morning, he said we were on the list but they didn't offer morning notifications. He said matter of factly - after interrupting me, "...we call 30 minutes ahead" (with the impression that he would have loved to say "period.") I told him to cancel the service; we'd find someone else. First impressions are everything. So, if you want to schedule something a good deal out and wait all day for the company to show, and possibly get abrupt responses to your calls, this is the company to use. I'm so glad it became clear to me that this is one company we do NOT want to use before they touched our equipment. Found another local company, and we couldn't be happier. read more

My house has very old pool equipment and a broken backwash valve led to a series of repairs and equipment replacements and multiple service calls from 2 different pool companies. Both companies charged for repair estimates and neither fixed the problems. I contacted All About Pools because they were listed as the authorized dealer for my Hayward pool sweep pump. From that first phone call and several that followed owner Dan literally walked me through each step to trouble shoot the pumps, filter, and Polaris pool sweep. Based on his guidance and with repairs made, a once very dirty pool it is now clean and crystal clear. Needless to say I'm thrilled to have the pool back up and running but more importantly it's great to find someone who will share their expertise and go that extra mile.
