First and likely my last time to this winery. One of my best friends got married here. Had our rehersal in the morning and decided to eat the the restaurant there... While they set up the tables for the wedding party some of us groomsmen and bridesmaids did some wine tasting. Wine: overall 2.5 stars, their Nabbiolo (soldout) 4.5 stars The range of selection was typical of any vinery. Both their reds and whites simply lacked a finish. It came off flat and not well-rounded. It did not lack the depth in flavor, it just didn't resounate. I think the grapes needed to be aged for a bit more in their barrels before being bottled up. Their wines are a bit pricey. Definately can get a better bottle at trader joes or bevmo. There's a couple of tips: a couple of the pourers use a thing that "airate" the vino, but it's simply a pour stop, you can do it by swirling your wine in the glass. Restaurant: 4-stars The food was savory and delicious! Definately try the meatloaf wrapped in beacon it was raved by my friends. I got the veal and it was cooked to perfection. Event: 5-stars, the event coordinator 2-stars The winery has weddings practically booked every weekend. The reason why I was able to taste the nabbiolo was because of the wedding. They definately have the the right venue for a wedding with a 2 segregated room cottage for the bride's party and groom's party. The food at the wedding was well prepared. My roast beef was moist, flavorful, cooked perfectly to medium rare. Service: 4 stars Some are better than others but overall each person tries to make your experience a good one. It definately is a beautiful place to get married or have an event at. read more

Vineyard backdrop to the altar was nice. Food was good for me (filet mingnon), others had tough and overcooked ones. Potatoes au gratin were great. Wifey had albacore tuna...it was also good, maybe a bit overcooked. Moscato wine was good! Would recommend. read more

First and foremost: Beverino 2010 It's my personal favorite red wine here at Ponte. I don't want to compare any type of red wine to a ... sangria, but I can taste the similarities. Primarily because it's sweet I suppose. At any rate, this winery comes with a tasting room (of course), restaurant ($19 hamburgers? But I must say their pizzas are very good!), reception pavilion, garden, barrel room and coming soon... A HOTEL!! (completion date Spring 2012). This winery has great wines, and large selection for whites and reds, so everyone can be happy. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. If you have time to walk around, and check it out, definitely do so. The bar was pretty crowded when I went there, but it happened to be during a pick-up party. So it's probably not always that crowded. Check in on yelp, and get 2 for the price of 1. It's $20. Military gets the same deal. read more

This was one of my favorite wineries while visiting Temecula. It's beautiful inside and out! For $20 you get a tasting and you get to keep your glass. Their pours are very liberal too so you get bang for your buck. The inside is also a shopper's paradise. Lots of great stuff, it's hard to pass up! I was pretty tipsy and signed up for the wine club which you have the option to have delivered or you can come pick up. Make sure you have it delivered- unless you live in Temecula, you may think you will come out once a month but you dont. Also the cost that is automatically billed to your credit card fluctuates from $28 to $70...so I had to cancel. It just wasn't for me. Too bad because if you have the funds, its fun and great wine to have delivered each month. The grounds outside really are stunning. They have a lot of weddings here and I can see why. I would also recommend signing up on their mailing list if you have a family- they hold a lot of wonderful family events here. I also cant wait to come back and try the restaurant. This place is so beautiful. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch. We tried to make a reservation in the morning but were told that they were all booked up. They told us to come by anyway and there may be a bit of a wait but they would be able to get us in. So that is exactly what we did! It was not bad at all because we did a few tastings while we waited. To be honest, I'm not crazy about the wines. However, that is personal preference. The food is delicious. The winery is absolutely stunning. It is such a lovely place to hang out, have a few glasses of wine, walk around, eat, and just enjoy the day. We loved every moment of it. My boyfriend is totally not into this stuff but even he loved it. I can't wait to go back. read more

The definition of casual california dining - the ambiance is relaxed yet elegant. The food is always beautifully prepared. The staff is awesome!!! My favorite wines: Chilled Beverino, Isabel, Julliette, Ariana and of course, the Moscato. Since they have removed the brunch menu and the all you can drink mimosas, it is more cost efficient and flexible to just order the whole bottle of Moscato and their OJ...with company of course. I had been here before when in Temecula and loved it, but this last time we went, they had increased the price for tasting. It's now $20 for 6 tastes, which I think is slightly ridiculous. The only reason I would be okay with paying that much for tasting is if they were to comp the price upon purchase. They don't even do that! So, if you decide to buy a bottle, you have now shelled out $20 to taste in addition to the cost of your bottle of wine. Temecula tasting can be a little on the pricey side, but I think $20 for six tastes is outrageous. With that being said, they do have some great wines and the staff has always been friendly when I have visited. I'm bummed about the price increase because this has been one of my favorite wineries for the past year, but I more than likely won't be back unless they reduce the price for tasting. read more

We had our wedding welcome dinner at Ponte's reserve room. Jenna J. from catering literally took care of everything. We spent maybe a total of one hour planning (we simple emailed Ponte and Jenna J. gave us a checklist to check off everything that we wanted). We then left the rest for Jenna J. to take care of. Everything was just perfect, the food (our guests still talk about how perfectly the steaks were done), the decor, EVERYTHING. The welcome dinner set a wonderful tone for our wedding weekend and we wouldn't have changed anything. read more

Nice vineyard perfect garden setting, we came on a Friday evening and they had a guitarist who was pretty good and entertaining as we enjoyed our bottle of wine while gazing at the view with the sunset rays. The service was good but it took forever for us to be attended to kinda looked like they were short staffed. We also had their cheese platter and calamari which was delicious. This place is nice. They have a really tasty restaurant through the back doors. The bars are really long and spacious. The gift shop has beautiful items (like, holy cow are they fun to look at!). The pourers are very, very friendly and pour you a lot!! The wine is all right. Probably will return just because the ambiance is so nice. =) read more

Had a wonderful afternoon here. Belonged to this winery for many years but let it go since was same old thing while others in area definitely got better. Have always enjoyed the Super Tuscan & glad I have a few aging in my cellar ax well as a few reserve Magnum bottles. Only go for the sweet Isabella & Juliet if you are into potent fruity grape juice! Usually new or inexperienced drinkers are into this. See tremendous improvement in the grounds & vineyards!! Looked beautiful & happy to see an inn added. Restaurant has always been delicious but no longer HS the best staple, the steak sandwich :( All & all one of the most solid in area & happy to see their traditions carry. One could hope they try to succeed in vineyard as much as they do in aesthetics & pricey items carried in tasting room. Cheers read more

The location of the winery was superb, the groves and fields of already harvested grapes were magnificent and %100 dead. I would recommend visiting the winery around August for photos. The restaurant at Ponte was not up to par. For $25 a person, no wine included, you get very bland food but a lot of it. I would recommend going for wine tasting and brown bagging the food. read more

Took my mom and aunt for Mother's Day and we had a good time. The setting is beautiful and I really liked the wine (I was surprised). We tried a flight of reds and whites. My mom love the Viognier and I was happy with the Tempranillo. Our server was nice and checked on us the right amount of times. The missing star is for the food. Everything on the menu sounded great. We ordered the crab benedict and short ribs off the special menu and chicken off the regular menu. We shared all of them and everything looked pretty but ... It was all really bland and under seasoned. We got the chocolate crime brûlée. And I'll stick with traditional creme brûlée from now on. I don't even know if I'd go back to try the food again. A great place to go for wine and maybe a salad. One plus was the dipping sauce they bring with the bread - it was really good! Go for the wine and the setting! read more

Ponte Winery is one of my favorites in Temecula. It's a beautiful winery year-round! Most of the wines I have tasted in the past few years have always been good and LOVE the Beverino 2010! Like most wine tasting rooms, it gets crowded especially on the weekends. But there's plenty of space for everyone and one can go out onto the back patio for air or a change of scene. I had a milestone birthday at the restaurant and unexpectedly, they upgraded my reservation to a private area at no additional cost. The service, the food and the wine were all exceptional. My friends and I were very pleased with everything. Least to say, my birthday was definitely memorable and my friends and I will continue to spread the good word about this place. read more

Okay, so I promised I'd give this place another shot, as personally, three stars for me indicates there were things I enjoyed. Mr. Hubby and I returned with a different group of friends and still had a so-so experience in the tasting room. I noted this time that items for sale are strategically placed in the middle of the room (was I that buzzed last time?), which is a nifty idea...though at least a third of said items are breakable, so instantly I thought it was stupid and expressed as much, perhaps a bit too loudly. I still shrugged at the wines and the employees, though the pours were still notably generous. The environment itself is great, the grounds are breathtaking, so if you haven't been here it's worth a look. The bathrooms were still clean, which is actually a huge plus in my book. My favorite part of the wine-tasting experience, once again, involved the other customers -- though during this visit, the bachelorette parties were at their finest (meaning their bitchiest). I'm glad we snuck out shortly after Charlie's Angels took two sips of a red and boisterously claimed to be drunk. No crazy blonde laying in the doorway this time! What a shame. So, I almost, ALMOST gave this place two stars, which would probably be unfair. But then our group discovered a lovely little "secret" -- the lounge in the basement of Ponte's hotel. I think it's actually called The Lounge, because that's how everyone refers to it. The atmosphere here was entirely different, and the customers were laid back. The bartenders were amazing and knew their stuff -- the female serving our party made a killer mojito, which apparently is harder to find than I originally thought. Drink prices were average, nothing to complain about, and the decor was enjoyable. My entire group commented on the framed pictures hanging on the walls and how drastically different it was downstairs compared to the tasting room. I'll definitely be back, if only to grab a couple drinks at The Lounge. read more

I sooooo wanted to love this place, but after a long wait for lunch, thick, soggy pizza, and a wilted-lettuce salad, we left disappointed ;( The best part was my cold, organic beer from the Eel river! We drove up with our two kiddos yesterday and decided to have lunch at Ponte. After a 45 minutes wait we were seated. Waited a while for our server and then once we ordered, lunch came out 20-30 minutes later ;( Half way through I ordered french fries for my young kids because they were just starving. The fries came out with much later our lunch which was a bummer. My bad, I should have specified to bring out before lunch. We ordered a kids pizza (for $9), a pestp pizza ($18) and a salad, and one beer. I had such high hopes for the food but I'm pretty bummed to report it was disappointing ;( We walked out with a $60 tab. Not sure why the food is so expensive as Temecula isn't prime real estate. We most likely will not return for the food, nor the wine ;( Giving two stars because the property is pretty breathtaking! I would definitely make sure to have plenty of staff on a summer day on a Saturday. read more

By far THE WORST winery I've ever visited in Temecula. And, we've been to many. Their customer service requires some major improvements. I'm disappointed in the fact that it bends the rules for some folks while all the POC are asked for proof of membership and denied access to wine membership areas. I'm cancelling my wine club membership here because I cannot believe how poorly my party was treated. I went in and noticed them allow up to 30 people in the membership lounge right after they had denied our group of 12 from entering. It was obvious that our group was denied access because we were a diverse group of POC. Gladly left this venue to go to much more welcoming establishments. If you are thinking of going here, don't. Go to Leoness (amazing views, wines & service), South Coast (great wine & people) or Miramonte (delicious wine, beautiful views, and food) instead. Much better service, wine, customer service and ambiance at those locations. ***Update in response to the company's reply to my review: If what you said below was true then other parties (of up to 30 people) wouldn't of been allowed back into the tasting room. As a member, I returned back to the Wine Club Reserve Room by myself and I was able to observe your workers consistent disparity. He allowed several groups through (up to 8 people at once) and turned away every person of color at the door. I only stood there for about 20 minutes and witnessed it myself. So, it was very obvious that the worker took it upon himself to enforce your policy below for some and not others. If you support those actions then your company is equally in the wrong. Regardless, you lost several of us in our group as Wine Club members. read more

We went with friends who are members and enjoyed ourselves so much we became members as well. 6 tastes for $10 (because we were with members, I believe) seemed quite reasonable. I liked some wines better than others, with a special mention to the sparkling Rose which was just perfect on the hot afternoon we were there. I also liked the Angry wife white, as did my (not angry at all) wife. I'm surprised to read some of the negative reviews here as far as the service. It may be because we were with members but we were treated like royalty. I've been in snooty Country Clubs where the staff isn't nearly as good. Everyone was very professional and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. I initially thought the memberships must cost $1000s to get service like that and was pleasantly surprised to find it costs what amounts to one bottle purchase per month. A very good value, IMHO. We had lunch in the restaurant outside and liked what we got - again at a price that seemed quite reasonable for the setting and quality of service. read more

I really liked this place. I've been to a lot of wineries, and this one was really neat. The layout was perfect and the staff... a guy named Sean in particular was outstanding. Hats off to him. I was a waiter for four years, and i know good service. Customer after customer he greeted with a big smile and described the wines simply and perfectly... honestly i think that guy helped make the whole experience. Hopefully the winery owners read this and commend him for it. ( and by commend i mean give the guy a raise :) Beyond that, the view was breathtaking out the back. A few snooty wine club people shit on my parade a bit... i guess a guy and gal in all black and in their mid 20's are RIFF RAFF and can't appreciate great wine. Lofl. oh well. I was glad to be the run in the paint of his new mercedes. The restaurant in the rear looked amazing, we didn't eat, just drank (and took home 3 bottles ourselves :) but the food looked awesome! read more

I will start off by saying that we are wine members here which makes this review slightly more biases but it also means we come here frequently so I know what I'm talkin' about! -- Weekends: tasting room is quite busy which depending on what you are looking for this may or may not be the place for you. --Price: Tasting here is $20 on the weekends for 6 tastes which to me seemed a bit high so (before we were members) we just split a taste for the 2 of us. --Gift Shop: Lots of fun gifts and I think I buy something here almost every time. The gifts are the not the typical winery gift shop stuff "I love wine" shirts and hats. They have tons of decorative things for your home, stuff for your kitchen, stuff to read, stuff for your bathroom, etc. -- Wine: This is why we joined! Beverino is our engagement wine (the bottled we popped after he popped the question) so it will always have a place in our hearts. Other favorites: Moscato, Super Tuscan, Syrah, Late Harvest. Average bottle price $25. But plan on spending about $30 per bottle for the reds! read more

For my first California wine tasting experience, Ponte Winery was everything I thought it would be. The tasting room is open and spacious and there are many bar areas for tastings. The grounds are sprawling with beautiful views. We did not go into the restaurant area, but it would be a great lunch spot while on a wine tour. The wines were decent but I was only really impressed enough to buy the Beverino. The pita chips they serve are addicting! If I lived here, the membership would be worth the price to get complimentary wine tastings for yourself and a guest and the monthly wine selections. read more

Took my girlfriend here, our first winery experience. The winery: Service was great. Wine tasting was awesome, definitely do that. Lots to choose from and the chips are really good. The wines were really good as well, we ended up buying a bottle of one of the wines we tasted. We took the tour which was pretty cool. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. He took us on a tour of the winery, told us a little about the surrounding area and the process how the wine is made. My friend and I came out last weekend to check our the Ponte's restaurant. I had heard really good things from people, but unfortunately I was not too impressed. Perhaps It may be that Temecula does not have as many choices in comparison to the neighboring San Diego. We made a reservation for lunch, which in hind sight was good because it was pretty crowded. The restaurant is outside and although there were heat lamps, it was still a bit chilly, especially when the gusts of wind came through the barriers. I don't think I would brave the cold again. However, I could see it being a nice place to enjoy some wine and a meal during the warmer months. We were seated immediately and our waitress came out right away to take drink orders and tell us the specials. Service was good throughout our meal so no complaints on that end. Also, we were served a small loaf of tomato basil bread with a super delicious olive oil and vinegar concoction. As for the food, this is where it went downhill for me. I ordered the sandabs stack and was not at all impressed. The brioche that was promised tasted like wonder bread and was so thin that my sandwich contents were sliding. The fish was good but could have used a bit more seasoning because there was only a small amount of tarragon sauce on the sandwich. The onion rings were ok but just did not belong. For 19.00 I felt ripped off. My friend got the chicken pesto pizza and I tried a slice of it. We both thought that the pizza was pretty good. Overall, I still don't see why people are that impressed by this restaurant. Don't think I will be back any time soon. read more
