Thankful for this company because they were the only ones offering a payment plan (0% interest) from the 3 other companies I contacted! They offer competitive pricing. To get an idea, they were the 2nd cheapest option from the other 3 I contacted. I needed 3 trees trimmed and vines removed but Oscar offered to throw away dead leaves in our yard and remove other vines that were hanging on our roof for free. We just had this company over this morning and were very happy with the whole experience. The health and beauty of each tree was considered, and I gained a lot of important knowledge about our trees and how to best care for them. Part of the job was very difficult as they had to trim back a huge pepper tree hanging over from the neighbor and pushing over our cypresses, as well as our loquat tree that hung over onto our neighbor's side, and our pomegranate tangled with their pepper tree -so the guys were way up in the trees with their saws. The crew was quick and efficient and worked well together. The price was quite reasonable for all that had to be done. I was even able to add to the estimate given to us earlier -the removal of a couple of overgrown euphorbia xantii bushes that had to be dug up by hand and couldn't be put in the chipper. I needed the removal of: 1) sticky-jabby desert plants 2) a giant Palo Verde tree with huge, scary, sticky-jabby branches and 3) multiple sticky-jabby root-stumps of a very invastive plant. This challenging project had to be done all while preserving a vintage vineyard, whose vines had become intertwined in EVERYTHING. They are not the cheapest in town, but they carry Workmen's Comp. for their employees and many of their team have been with them for many years. That speaks well for the way they are treated. The representative was very knowledgeable and provided expert opinion about the lacing and trimming of a 100-year-old 70-foot Deodar cedar tree. I was very impressed with his professional demeanor. His written estimate was unfortunately the highest of five companies that provided estimates otherwise I would have selected this company to do the job. He added that his crew would complete the job in half a day which would have been faster than all the other companies. I would rate them a 5 had his price been a bit more competitive though I have a feeling his work might have been excellent. He gave me a very competitive quote and a week later I had his team come and did a couple tall trees and trimmed a bunch of overgrown podocarpus trees. Great experience using Poly Timber and would definitely recommend them! I had a small tree in the front yard I wanted removed because the thing was growing like a weed and potentially causing my current plumbing headache. They came out to give me an estimate and the next week, they were able to come over and remove the tree. Whole thing was out and cleaned up in about 2 hours. Very speedy, efficient & clean. This review is for the initial estimate and meet with Ricky for the removal of my giant tree. Just to clarify, I didn't get a chance to use his services this time, so I can't review on his work. I sent out a request for a quote on Yelp! (great feature, stress free and easy)-and was contacted right away by the owner, Ricky. I was able to meet him face to face the same day, and he was able to provide me with a reasonable written estimate which broke down his services. He took his time and was very good and thorough at explaining what he was going to do, and even was able to suggest ways of keeping the costs down for me (as I knew it was a $$$ job). Ricky was not pushy and was able to advise me on what things I should look for when searching for any company: Licensed? Bonded/Insured? Work comp? Wow. I searched Yelp for somebody to properly prune two of my young trees and after reading various reviews, I chose Poly Timber. So glad I did! Ricky responded within minutes and was even able to come to my property right away for a free estimate. He understood my concerns, proposed what had to be done (and whether or not it was the proper time of year to prune the type of trees I have), and gave me an estimate. He then mentioned that he may not be able to do the job for a couple of weeks, but after hearing him talk about trees, I decided it would be worth the wait. So I hired him. Luckily for me (and my trees), he was able to do the job much sooner than he originally planned. Within 24 hours, my trees and I were happy.
