Best Samoan food in Southern California, hands down. My team had never tried Samoan food so I decided to order a spread for them! Everything was great and made it early enough to get some Pani Popo. Everything was amazing and I think you gained some new fans of Samoan food which was the whole purpose.

    - Poly Grill is Popping this morning like every morning. Top of the Line Samoan Food Spot in the local L.A. and O.C. Area..!

One of the Best Samoan Food Spots in the Los Angeles and Orange County Area. Their Bakery Goods are Top of the Line as well. They also Sell Fried Pork Skins and my Favorite is the Fried Chicken Skin. If you haven't been You should Definitely stop in and Buy Something So You Can Try Something...!

Hubby says "what would you like for lunch babe?" 1 hr 15 minutes drive later, here we are....always busy, always a line means that its ALWAYS GOOD!! Happy Wife, Happy Life Fa'afetai Lava again

The meat pie was 70% cheese & had meat with one mushroom in the filling. Most meat pies are 90% meat in New Zealand.

I love their food and been here a few times. Today I bought more meat pies and when I cut it open to see how much meat was in it, there was less than half. That's why the 3 rating. It has the meat, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese. It was mostly cheese (70%) and felt disappointed becuz the meat pies I had last week had more meat. Or I felt it had more meat. In New Zealand it's mostly meat with less fillers . They have different flavors. But delicious taste at Poly's. I just won't buy them anymore. Plus I ordered 2 pieces of baked taro and the girl gave me 3 instead & I was flabbergasted that those 3 pieces cost me $30!! I didn't know until I got home that she gave me 3 instead of 2. They charge you by the weight. That's way too much. Service was great. People are nice. Ambiance nice. Small mom & pop bakery. Tables to sit and eat. Clean and neat. Prices too are too high.

    Nice clean atmosphere.

I had never tried poly food before so I was excited seeing what was on the menu. Poly is a small take-out spot but packs a BIG punch in terms of taste flavor and just feel-good comfort food. The New Zealand sausage is bomb. I also liked their chop suey, chicken curry, turkey tail and mussels. First time here so I was limited to what I could get. I liked this place so much I came back the next day. It was that good!!This spot is clean and cosey. The workers here are very nice and you can feel the love they put in the food. You just feel welcomed coming here to get great tasting food. I will try their meat pie next time since they run out quick. Thank you to my friend for introducing me to Polynesian food. This place is a gem and I wish there was one just like it near where I live in Anaheim. Thanks Poly. Now I need me a souvenir shirt.

Poly Grill is da bomb!! Wish they were closer so I can get me some delicious Samoan food. This hidden island gem is located on Carson St right by the 405 freeway. My favorite is the sapasui, povi, and palusami. No other place makes their palusami like Poly Grill!! The type of noodles they use makes the texture of the sapasui delish, and I can't find this noodle at any store!! The povi is so good and pairs extremely well w the creamy palusami. I don't really eat taro and banana but I like the way they make theirs!! Family owned and operated, very friendly and helpful. May be a bit pricey but then again so is everything else!! We've tried other Samoan food between LA, SD, & Riverside and Poly Grill is BY FAR THE BEST!!! They make fresh bread (unsliced) and it's so yummy!! Great half moon pies too!! Don't forget the traditional Anchor butter (imported from New Zealand) bc it's sooooo delish w the fresh warm bread!! Highly recommend if you're craving Samoan food. And I also like coming here bc it's a far drive and I love food ventures!!

This is our second time driving out to Poly. Grill &Bakery. Today we picked up some Turkey Tail, sausage. Corned beef, Taro in coconut milk and Sapa Sui. So good we forgot to get a picture. But we also ordered Half moon pies, Palusami, to pick up the next day Once we were there to pick up the items, we also tried the Pani Popo, Panikeke, and the Suafa'i. Can't say enough on how good they each tasted. My husband said each item was just like home cooking and for me it reminded me of visiting of our family gatherings. The location is easy to find. Not to far off the freeway. Once inside look over the prepared food and let them know is what you would like from the prepared food. We were thankful to meet Miracle, she was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable of each item we ordered. Next time you stop in, talk with the staff, let them show you all the choices.

If you're looking for Samoan/Polynesian food, definitely check this place out. This was my first time here and the food is so good! It's located in a smaller lot, but you probably won't miss it and there will probably be parking. We stopped by late morning for lunch and got mixed plates. Staff's super friendly and answered all the questions we had. If you're not sure what to get, you can ask them for recommendations. I can't remember what I ordered, but at least I have pictures! Really enjoyed everything I got - mussels, sausage, corn beef?, crispy pork, taro, and turkey. All really strong flavors that went even better with the rice. I really enjoyed the crunch on the crispy pork skin. The mussels were one of my top favorites and I'd get it again. It's definitely enough food to eat twice if you have rice at home. Everything heated up tastes just as good as the day before.

It also came with grilled onions,if you happen to go for onions on your pastrami sandwich. I chose sweet potato fries, which tasted like they were cooked in meat grease! Just horrible! I will never order that again! Will I return and try other items from the menu, yes, the pastrami sandwich just isn't the right choice for me, you may like it lol! Our order: -Onion rings (the right batter to sliced onion ratio & delicious seasoning); -the french fries- crispy and the right amount of salt seasoning *dipped into their Jalapeno ranch, and you will be left smiling!* -the Works: What a burger! I love Portabello mushrooms, caramelized onions, and Persian cucumbers, so when I read that on the menu, I knew I had to order this, and I am not disappointed! This hit the spot. The smash patty topped with my favorites made for a perfect burger filling party. -the Don Chendo burger- the salsa Don Chendo on a jalapeño-Cheddar bun - culinary innovation at its finest! For non-spicy eaters like myself, you can eat this. This is definitely tolerable spice with a delicious flavor that overrules any "heat". DINNER FOR TWO SPECIAL…read more I don't know what's up with the mid reviews, this place is great for what it is!! Walking in is like being transported out of Long Beach and to the south.... Or a diner in big bear lake. It's charming. Anyways, I ordered the dinner for 2 for my mother and father. It came with a bit of bbq chicken, half rack of ribs, tri tip, catfish, cornbread, 2 sides, okra, sweet Potatoe fries and fried green tomatoes. I ordered myself a full rack baby back rib combo and it also came with two sides. French fries and mac. On top of that I ordered some hush puppies . I did not realize that I ordered that much food!!! It was sooo much. Cornbread - meh doesn't really have enough flavor but it's warm and you can add butter. The catfish- the breading was nice and crispy. French fries and mac and cheese- you can't ness that up. The tri tip- probably the best protein that we ate. Very soft. Ribs- needed more bbq sauce but you can order more. It was way better the next day when I heated them up. Chicken- I didn't eat it. My mom did. Hush puppies- fried cornbread. Not my thing. Sweet Potatoe fries- staple Fried green tomatoes- surprised me, that was actually good for literally a fried green tomato Okra- first bites, amazing, after a few it was too soggy for me. Just get the dinner for two. It's more than enough and you get to try a little bit of everything for 58 + dollars. Was it amazing? Not everything, but I appreciate the portion sizes and the variety.

I ordered delivery so expected the food to be more lukewarm than hot but was excited about the taste! It arrived and smelled wonderful and was surprisingly still steaming hot when I dig into the bag. I grabbed a straw, punctured the cup, and took a big gulp waiting for the sugar high I was craving! Sadly, it too was less than I desired. Then the Mac and cheese wasn't as flavorful either. I began wondering what type of pallet my co-worker had? This is BBQ for babies. I did finish the food but definitely had to do some "doctoring up" of my own. C'mon Johnny, reach for the stars! Kick up the flavor and add more suga' to that lemonade! Every time I see you when I drive by, I wanna get excited but it just isn't happening...yet. I'll give it another try someday.

The cozy, warm, aromatic atmosphere engulfed us like a warm quilt, as we walked in from the rain. The gentleman we passed outside by the door walked in behind us and welcomed us as if we were expected for Sunday dinner at Big Momma's House! No, that is NOT the name of this magical kitchen, but maybe it... No, it is even appropriately named. I dont know what the "R" stands for, maybe its a play on the Southern dialect, for "Our?" or does it stand for someone's name? I'm sure the meaning of the "R" has everything to do with why the meal I have become so overwhelmingly familiar with is so consistently "Smack a Momma" good. Now, I'm not a professional food critic. But, I know my way around a few pots and skillets. I'm just an average Kentucky-raised, over-60, consistently looking for a good meal when I get hungry, don't feel like cooking or understands when my wife doesn't feel like cooking either, type of guy. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. Great food, clean restaurant, and strong customer service. I'd definitely come back.
