I always stop by this place from time time, and been for many years. People come here for their pandesal, I usually come here for their desserts and sweets. It's pretty clean and organized. They have simple rules items. My only one-off is that this place is really pricey! Most of all their items are expensive, and usually I end up either leaving or having to only get what I want. I know it's a small mom and pop bakery to probably cover their overhead, but their prices are pretty up there! They should sell them in smaller batches or more affordable options for buyers. My parents used to get fresh pan de sal here. Back in the day it was like $2 for a whole bag. Today because of inflation it's a whole lot more. I'm digging the new look of this bread shop! Everything is so organized and it always smells amazing the moment you open the door! It's rare that there's no costumers in here. Expect a line, always. If there's a wait, that just means they're busy and always in demand of fresh breads! I highly suggest coming in the morning versus afternoon because they will run out. Vallerio's has been known in my family to be the place to get fresh Pandesal bread. My favorites from here are the Cheese Pimento bread, Cheese Ensamada and the Pastillas. Unfortunately, the Bibinka tasted undercooked. The ladies who were working were very friendly. One lady mentioned that she was the owner and, she introduced us to her new offerings. Small Filipino bakery located in the same plaza as Jollibee, Red Ribbon, and Seafood City in Carson. It's a no frills bakery with nice ladies working the busy counter. Walked in on an early Sunday morning to pick up some goodies for my mom's caretakers. So many good looking Filipino pastries to choose from so I got something fairly simple- the ube bread. I've been here other times before and have chosen bread and various pastries with different ranges of sweetness. The parking lot is nuts. I have parked right in front and sometimes to all the way in the back. The peak times in this plaza are after 5pm during the week and weekends after the late morning. We were heading to Seafood City when my husband noticed this bakery, so we decided to visit after we went shopping. I was so excited because I love seeing Filipino bakeries, stores, restaurants and other establishments. I always want to check it out to support my people and to get a taste of our culture. When you walk in, it definitely reminds me of one of the bakeries I grew up going to in Delano. It's a small bakery with tons of goodies behind the glass case, there's also some on the floor that you can also grab. I ended up getting a little of almost everything. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh. I would love to come back and restock on freshly made bread. I wish I lived a little closer so I can visit more, but I will be back. And those also taste very fresh and delicious! Carioca and Turon are our favorites! The packaged food are a hit or miss for us because we've encountered packaged food that has mold in it. My expectations were too high. The options were sparse and the place was dark and sticky. Could've been the time we came, it was the afternoon on a Sunday, but a lot of the store looked sad. The food just didn't look like it was fresh. For instance, I got pastillas and they were dry. There is no expiration date on it. I will probably throw it away, it cost $5. My 3 year old son, who likes anything with sugar didn't like it. He had to spit it out. The ube macaroons were ok. The bakery itself was not flashy, which is nice. Inside is small. They still have a clear barrier for the cashier. Which I find odd since other parts of the counter area are open. It doesn't seem to make much sense having a clear barrier just for that area. It looks tacky. The parking lot is ok, just a lot of bad drivers. Plenty of spots in the back towards Main Street. One thing that creeped me out was a white truck that was circling around the parking lot. There were parking spots open but it just kept circling around. Since it was a white truck, I thought maybe it was security but it didn't have any signage on the truck. As I left, I saw it on the street too. With all the sneaky crime going on, I was worried there was a tracker on my car. I pulled over to check my car for any devices. Sounds paranoid but my motto is better safe than sorry. Still very suspicious. There are also some old cars or vans parked in the parking lot in the shade that have been there for a while with random people smoking. Also, very alarming if you bring young kids around. It's nice to have a Seafood city and Red Ribbon in the same plaza, not to mention Jollibee. But surely makes for a crowded time when you come during busy hours. I wouldn't go back to this bake shop with other options in the area. read more

Parking is always a nightmare but it's worth it for their fresh pandesal. I will wait in my car for parking for over 15min just to get their pandesal. It's fresh and warm and it's not on the shelf, you have to ask for it and you see them go to the back to bring it out. Since it's fresh they give it in a paper bag but once the bread is cooled down they also give a plastic bag to put the bread inside to keep it soft if you don't happen to finish it all in one day. It's soft fluffy and so good I can literally eat it alone. It's easy to pop in the oven or air fryer to reheat for an easy to-go breakfast with egg and cheese or whatever you want to put in it. I don't go anywhere else for pandesal. One piece is the size of my palm and one is a great portion size but I can still eat two or three because it's that yummy The store is clean and well organized I have to refrain from looking at the shelves because everything looks so good i end up over buying. Located in the bustling Filipino plaza across from the CVS on Carson St, this place is usually always busy. There aren't any tables or chairs, so it's more of a grab n go type of bakery. Very fond childhood memories here! My dad used to take me to a salon across the street for haircuts, and we would come here after for fresh, hot pandesal. It's one of the softest, fluffiest bread rolls imaginable! I remember the lines always went out the door when they baked a new batch. The staff was super efficient bagging all the pandesal, getting orders fulfilled, and keeping the line moving. We'd eat a few before heading to the car, it's that good! Come by around 7AM when they first open if you want the freshest batch possible. They used to do another fresh batch in the afternoon but I don't know if they still do that. Recently I visited around noon, so the pandesal was already packaged and sitting out for a couple of hours. But it's not a big deal because you can reheat the bread at home and it tastes just as good! Ten seconds in the microwave is enough. The pandesal also freezes well, just in case you purchase too many or you can't visit too often. I've tried their other baked goods/pastries over the years like ensaymadas, empanadas, turon, etc. which were also tasty but I don't love them as much. You'll find them in the Seafood City plaza! Especially, when you have hot items where you are going to call ahead and place them on hold for you or else they will be out, aka the Ube Bochi Bochi. The Ube Bochi Bochi is soooo good! It definitely hit the ube craving that most places don't satisfy. It is filled with Ube paste and covered with sweet rice flour in the shape of a ball. it has a slight crunch on the exterior as it is deep fried and it tastes bomb! I love their Buko Pandan, just make sure you add some ice to your cup. I could eat the Filipino style Tamales all the time. It is sweet and savory packed into a banana leaf. Seeing as we don't have a Filipino bakery near home (in Florida), I grabbed everything I could that had ube in it. When you walk in the shop during Spring/Summer months you'll definitely be hit in the face as if you're walking directly into their ovens. The separation of the back oven heating elements with the front sales area is Nonexistent. So all the reviews of some items molding is going to be evident on items that do not turn around as quickly as others due to the moisture, heat and non circulating air trapped in the shop. So check your items closely before you purchase!! During Fall/Winter months the temperature in the shop is perfect. The oven heat warming the cold air brought in by the entering of loyal patrons. Inflation has definitely changed the prices on All of the products, sadly so, some more than others. Workers are nice and helpful as always. I have Hugo C to thank for this little find. He brought some goodies to the Filipino Potluck we had.. and it made me want to check out the store itself! That.. and I was in the area. (two minutes away. How could I resist?) When i was smaller i'd always get the Pan de Sal at the Betsy's in LA.. on vermont. But that store closed down!! what the hell. I've tried the pan de sal at other places.. but it's not the kind i'm used to getting. The pan de sal here is GOOD.. not as good as Betsy's.. but good enough. Good enough for me to make another 30 minute drive here to get my mom some too! It's only $1.99 for a whole bag of em! Also.. i'm not sure why.. but the bread smelled kind of fried?! I don't know. Hat threw me off too. I rolled up at 8:50pm (they close at 9) so there was absolutely no crowds and no wait. But also no warm pan de sal. :) Just the ones already made in the bag. But that's okay. Growing up the only fresh baked pan de sal bakery was from Betsey's in LA. Unfortunately they can't be found in LA anymore and since then Valerio's has taken over. This location is right next door to Seafood City so you can't miss it. The space is VERY small and can get crowded. When I was there the line wrapped around the whole shop. Luckily the line went by pretty fast. I also love their ube bread! No other Filipino bakery can make it like them. Only bad thing is that the size of the ube bread shrunk significantly but they're still delicious. They are constantly baking pan de sal throughout the day so it can get pretty warm in the shop while waiting in line. I also grabbed some chicken siopao and it was delicious. They used shredded chicken and there's always a piece of boiled egg inside. My three purchases were under $11. I'm so glad Carson is just a short freeway drive for me. read more
