Came here craving for pork sinigang. They had beef instead so I tried to get 3 orders of the same dish for the 3 item combo. She couldn't get enough meat for 3 orders so I supplemented my combo with lechon kawali. The soup was full of vegetables (okra, eggplant, long string beans) and the meat was tender. It was a tad salty and needed more sourness. It did satisfy my craving. The lechon was delicious. It's better to dip it in soy vinegar sauce than their liver sauce. Their sauce was bland. She gave me huge servings so I was happy. They do charge a 4% fee for credit card purchases. read more

Hands down, the BEST lechon kawali ever! Crispy, fatty, and sooo satisfying, every bite is worth it. Honestly, the lechon sauce they give you isn't my fave, so I highly recommend having a bottle of Mang Tomas at home to dip it in. Trust me, game changer. This place also has the best pancit malabon, been enjoying it since I was younger and still haven't found one that beats it. Their bibingkas are also delicious, soft, and has salted egg on top! I've tried their mechado and bistek before, they were okay, but for me, the stars of the show will always be the lechon kawali and pancit malabon. This white chick skimped on my combo order today. I ordered two items but she literary gave me two spoons of pinakbet on a plastic container. Seriously? How can you justify a combo price of $10.95 if there's only two slices okra, 1 eggplant and 2 slices off squash in a container? The other lady she puts enough Ulam for others that is way reasonable. Manila Sunrise is a nondescript restaurant on Main St in Carson. Inside is a clean well kept place with ready food to go. There's adobong whole pusit and dinuguan and other Philippines cuisine. I went there specifically for the palabok Malabon and was delightfully surprised at its taste. It's really delicious and with the sliced eggs and shrimp it indeed is pancit Malabon. Another order i had was the sinigang bangus which I'll try shortly. The owner's daughter Mariana was real welcoming. I would recommend they set the palabok as a featured dish alone. Their kare-kare is authentic. It has ox tail and tripe unlike other filipino restaurants which uses pork or just beef meat in their karekare. Also their lechon kawali is very crispy. and to top that, the two pretty ladies at the counter i think her name is Cora and Aya are very helpful. Anyway, to make the long story short, my sister called and stated, "if you won't get the Pancit Palabok here, I'll throw them away. Nobody ate this dish because it has no taste!" We ended up throwing the Pancit Palabok. I wasted approximately $62.00 + for the largest order. I spoke with one of the staff in January, 2025, She stated that she'll inform the owner to speak with me, ASAP. She requested me not to do a YELP REVIEW. I recently placed a call in order for their pancit malabon. The lady who picked up specially asked what time I was picking up as she said she wanted to make sure that my order would be ready for when I arrived. I mentioned I would be there at 10:20. I came at the time I mentioned but ended up waiting a good 20 minutes before my order was ready. As many other reviews have mentioned; the service is a bit lacking and slow. They had one person handling all the immediate orders of the customers who had just showed up and no one handling any of the pick ups. With their place being small and with social distancing; service perhaps could be a bit better with someone taking care of orders that are ready to go. We did noticed there was other staff who just seemed to be idle/relaxing. They really should have checked on the other customers and if they had an order ready; help them out versus having just one long line with one restaurant working doing everything. Customer service could definitely use an upgrade. It was a particularly hot day too when I went to get my order and noticed a lot of a new customers left. The place is so small, and for someone like me who's not familiar with the area, might be inconspicuous. I missed the turn because it looked like it's in an abandoned establishment, located in an old unkept lot. I ordered the PANCIT MALABON, for 4 to 6 people, ~$22. I was worried that I didn't order big enough for 4 people because the pan size shown on their display looked small. But, it was packed well over the brim, that we ended up having left-overs enough for 2 servings the next day. This dish is what they're known for. It was made to order fresh, hot, and good. I had such low expectations of the place, but I was surprised that it turned out better than I expected. I was actually pleased how delicious it turned out. The LECHON KAWALI turned out great as well. It was the crunchiest lechon I've tasted. The skin was fried impeccably to its crispiest that even my picky son delightfully complimented me for picking it up. The inside was tender, seasoned well, and super scrumptious at each bite. The LONGANISA was solely for my son. He loves the sweet savory taste of it. It was such a treat for him because he doesn't get to eat it as much as he'd like to. No one in the family is a fan of this sweet longanisa, and I only get it for him once in a blue moon. Overall, this place is totally legit. Small, not as pleasing to the eye, meant for pick-up orders. However, they serve some tasty authentic Filipino food. How I wish it's closer to me; I would frequent it. read more

The food is always fresh and there are so many choices to pick from. You can also get a side of soup with your combo. My husband and I normally share a combo with extra rice. The portion is enough to share with another person. We would get a 3-item combo with soup. My fave items here are the beef steak, dinuguan, menudo, beef mechado, paksiw na pata, and lechon kawali. my wife tasted a lumpiang shanghai brought by a romanian co worker nurse and my wife was impressed by the taste and texture.my wife is a very good cook and her past experience wiht almost all filipiono restaurant in ther carson area is bad. so we ordered 50 pieces of lumpiang shanghai cost $38.50 yesterday(7/18) and agreed that we can only pick up the next day at 2pm. so here is the verdict , all of us inluding my kids experienced the lumpia wrapper was so hard but since my kids are hungry they tried to eat most of it and my plan of returning it to complaint never happen. my wife also notice that th etexture of the meat is not right because her impression is it was fried quickly. she is upset and frustrated. is there any filipino restaurant around carson that ca cook right? read more

One of my FAVORITE Filipino restaurants in the South Bay. Prices are amazing, service is quick, and above all- food and flavor is astounding. I always opt for the kare kare and adobo, the kara kare being rich, smooth, and buttery, while the adobo is the perfect meld of vinegar and sweet. I also got the Lechon which was the perfect crunch and juicy cut of pork! I picked up a couple of pancits on the Eve of Xmas. My boss was so impressed! She told me she loved it and was her best gift this holiday season.. The noodles were Al dente, overall perfectly seasoned, melts in your mouth! The servings are huge. The price (which of course my boss doesn't know) was so reasonable! I guess I'll be getting a high rating on my employee review, cuz she won't stop bragging about the special gift she received from me . Still the best Pancit Malabon I've tried here in California. Good thing it's near so at anytime craving hits I can always come here and get that single order...it's always yummy in my tummy! They do practice social distancing inside the restaurant, it's still all to go, no dining inside. I'm not too excited with their combo meals so I stick with the Pancit Malabon. No credit cards, either cash or debit card only. I do appreciate them having pop-up caravans outside the restaurant like last Saturday. This restaurant has improved a lot since I last reviewed it. This place is much cleaner and the food has greatly improved in taste and freshness. They definitely have an A too now from the Health department.Of course my #1 favorite dish here has always been their famous Pancit Malabon. I've been to other Filipino restaurants that have this same dish but none of them makes it as delicious as Manila Sunrise. Here there recipe is one of a kind and receives the gold medal or blue ribbon from me. Other favorite dishes of mine here are their lechon Kawali. Extremely delicious too but only eat in moderation! Their recipe for this one too is one of a kind and a family recipe passed down through generations. Their lumpia Shanghai is awesome too and not too expensive. My mom ordered 50 pieces for a small gathering last weekend for only $23 and 100 is only $35-$40. And on Thanksgiving their Manila ham is to die for. Very delicious and infinitely better than dry turkey! This restaurant is a real treasure in Carson. A favorite to many Filipinos in Carson including me and my family. It's owned by a nice devout Catholic Filipino family since 1982 so a wonderful 40th anniversary already. Hope this good old Filipino restaurant never goes away or leaves us. read more
