Food selection is always great. Pricing is ok. Pork BBQ sticks are a must, but their sisig is an all time favorite forsure.

Nita's was pretty busy on this Saturday morning, they had lots of people waiting to pick up platters. The restaurant was clean & had tons of parking out front. The staff was super helpful with identifying the different food options. The prices are a little steep, but they do give you more food/meat than what I've experienced at other Filipino restaurants. My lola was actually impressed with the amount of meat & veggies in the sinigang, and was so curious of where I picked up lunch! The food was good (not the best, but not the worst). Some of the meats were a little tough, and there's just something missing (maybe, salt?) Nita's does take all forms of payment, but be prepared to pay a 3% fee if you're paying with anything other than cash. read more

If you are in Carson in search of Filipino food that just hit the spot, Nita's is just the place to go. The restaurant is usually very crowded during some visits. But I will say that the ambience feels like an authentic filipino restaurant experiance with all the small decor that just screams filipino and it makes you feel at home. My favorite thing to order is usually the barbecue skewers, because I love the strong smoky flavor fresh off the grill. To the older Filipina woman working the cashier, you have no etiquette or class running a business. I did not get a "Hello, how are you?" or even "Your total is..." No eye contact and felt hostile. Just snatched my cash when I paid. I was very polite so I don't understand this attitude behavior. The food is medicore, nothing special at all. We dined in on 5/6/23. There was only one person serving so the line was slow. We would have given this place easy 5 stars bc the food was excellent! Everything tasted authentic and full of flavors. We ordered: kare kare, menudo, afritada, pancit, pork bbq sticks, sisig. Kare kare's meat was super tender. They did not have oxtail but the meat they used is pretty good. I don't usually eat tripe but one snucked in and I tried it and it actually wasn't bad. It was clean tasting. Our bill was almost $80 and we asked for plates and we were charged $.25 cents for each! What? You can't even give your customers plates for free? It's not like they were reusable, they were styrofoam! Seriously?! That bug the heck out of me, service was not 5 stars! The place is ok. They have tables available for those eating in. Just beware that if you ask for plates, you will be charged $.25 each styrofoam throw away kind! The gentleman who was serving was nice and patient. The cashier lady isn't as friendly. The food is really good though so yes, we will be back but next time we'll order a combo so we can have a plate and rice already. Rice is $1 per small scoop. I know prices went up especially food ingredients but come on just decide what price to charge people and not charge extra dollars for every meat dish selection. Sisig, Caldareta, Rice, Dessert and Royal Orange Soda for 7 bucks! From my understanding, Sisig is a few different meats originating from the pig's head. This, along with Crispy Pata, are two of my top five dishes. Years ago, a friend of mine from Papanga told me that Sisig was Kapampangan and meant eating sour snacks. That is pretty much my history lesson for the day and I am not sure how true it is. What is true is that this place offers up some decent food for a cheap price during lunch. It is relatively clean and they only accept cash. It was not the best Filipino food I have had, and believe me I have had plenty, but it was AOK. Ahh I think Nita's is one of my favorite Filipino turo-turo places. What: turo-turo you ask? Well the literally the English translantion is "point-point. I believe this is because customers go into the restaurant and point out which dishes they want . My two favorite dishes that I "point" at here are their bbq sticks and their beef pepper steak. They sell their bbq sticks for a $1.50 each and they are some of the best in town. Unlike other bbq sticks, the bbq pork is very lean and not fatty. The beef pepper steak is another great dish. It has bell peppers and sweet beef mixed together. They offer some other goodies such as pancit (Filipino noodles), sweet Filipino spaghetti (the sweet kind with Filipino ketchup) and good old Filipino fried chicken. This used to be a small place but as it became more popular with the customers, they expanded their restaurant. They have a more spacious place now and plenty of tables for folks. There seems to be always a line when I come here. That alone should be testimony to how popular and good this place is. I came to pick up some food for Christmas and the line was almost out the door. If you want to try good Filipino food with decent prices and great portions, you should check Nita's out :). read more
