I had a craving for egg rolls, so I logged onto Yelp and found a spot in Carson. I had actually driven past Tita Celia's before but had never stopped in, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is tucked into a corner of a busy parking lot, but I was able to find a spot easily. The outside has a charming look that reminded me of a little island hut , with beautiful trees and green trim that give it a welcoming feel. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the aroma of food cooking in the kitchen. The staff welcomed me as I approached the cafeteria-style food counter. The menu hangs above, making it easy to look through the options. I asked about their veggie egg rolls, which were displayed in a separate case along with lumpia and other tempting treats. While learning about their veggie egg rolls and other dishes, I decided to order the egg rolls and was also drawn to the cantaloupe drink. On a warm day, the thin slices of cantaloupe floating in the drink looked so refreshing. The prices were very reasonable, and the egg roll itself was a great size. It also came with a dipping sauce that paired perfectly. I sat down to enjoy my lunch, and it did not disappoint. The vinegar-based sauce complemented the egg roll nicely, and the sweet cantaloupe drink balanced everything out for a great sweet-and-savory combo. Before leaving, I even bought another egg roll to take home. The staff were friendly, and I really enjoyed my lunch. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other dishes on the menu. read more

On Sunday, 3/1, I ordered catering for my son's birthday -- a tray of pancit, 150 pieces of egg rolls, a tray of steamed rice, and a tray of mechado. The food was good and met expectations -- no complaints there. However, I was very disappointed with the $60 delivery fee to travel just 5 miles to the park. That charge felt excessive and left a negative impression. While the food quality was solid, the delivery cost makes me reconsider ordering again. read more

I started coming here years ago because they were the only ones at the time that had Filipino breakfast early in the morning. The prices have always been pretty fair too. When my mom was alive, this was her favorite place. We came here so much that when I stopped taking her and came back suddenly one day, the employees asked me where I've been and where's my mom. Yes, a few of the employees have been there at least 10 years! But on to the review... They always have a lot of entrees to choose from. My favorites are: mechado, lechon kawali, fried fish and bbq. For desserts, I like the turonC Carioca and the buchi. I like all the breakfast entrees. This is a solid Filipino turo-turo location. For you non filipinos, turo turo is point point...which basically means you point at which entree you want. Call it the Filipino Panda Express if you will. First time gettin their embutido. It's a Filipino dish resembling meatloaf but made with ground pork and other spices. Looks like a log and you just slice it. On an early-ish Sunday morning before the holiday, they have them wrapped in foil in the fridge uncooked. I pulled the smaller size one and asked how much it was. It was actually the same price of the larger one so of course I got the larger one. They offered to slice into big pieces and fry it for me so I obliged and thought that's pretty convenient than having to bake it at hone. After they fry it they give it to you in an open white box as it's quite hot. Later on in the day at home, I opted to slice it further and give it just a few minutes of more love in the air fryer. The ladies at the counter are always very nice to me. The cashier mentioned that after 11am is when they are crazy busy with customers during the actual holidays, Christmas Eve, NY, etc. I told her that I had been there on the Eve but at 7:30am and they said that's smart to avoid the mad holiday rush. October is Filipino American History month which makes it the perfect month to enjoy some delicious Filipino food. Delicious is indeed the perfect word to describe Titanic Celia's Filipino breakfast. For only $13, their Filipino breakfast comes with two scoops of garlic rice, two eggs, a slice of fresh tomato and your choice of Filipino breakfast entree. Among some of the entree choices are tapa (beef), pork or chicken tocino (sweet meat), longanisa (sweet pork sausage), daing (fried fish) and corned beef. They make each of the breakfast dishes upon order and so there can be a wait depending on the time you come. I went on a Sunday at 8:30am and this place was packed with folks ordering breakfast. Breakfast is available all day though, so you can always come later too. I chose to get the tapa and was really impressed how lean the meat was. It was also very tender. I loved pairing it with the garlic rice and egg. It really was delicious or should I say "masarap!" (Masarap is delicious in Tagalog). I know I'll be back again for Filipino breakfast. Authentic Filipino Comfort Food Done Right! I recently visited Tita Celia's in Carson, California, and it was such a wonderful experience. As soon as I walked in, the place felt tidy, clean, and comforting. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the whole visit even better. I've tried their food a couple of years ago, but dining in really brings out the authenticity -- and I honestly forgot just how amazing their Filipino comfort food can be. I ordered several dishes, and everything was outstanding. My absolute favorite was the dinuguan -- perfectly balanced with rich flavor and just the right amount of meat and gravy. So good!! The Mechado was also delicious; the meat was so tender, and the vegetables in the stew were cooked to perfection. The chicken sisig surprised me in the best way -- healthy, flavorful and satisfying, tasting just as rich as their pork sisig. I also had to get the pinakbet since I love vegetables, and it was cooked just right -- flavorful and not mushy at all. The kare-kare was amazing as well, especially with the little container of bagoong they provide, paired with white rice -- absolutely yummy. We also tried the fried chicken skin and bulaklak, which did not disappoint. They were super crispy and bursting with flavor, especially dipped in the vinegar they provided. They also gave us a little complimentary cup of soup! To finish everything off, I had their cantaloupe melon drink, which was refreshing and not overly sweet -- the perfect way to wash everything down. And did you know it helps with hangovers? Overall, this was one of the best Filipino meals I've had in a long time. I was so hungry and everything tasted so amazing that I was only able to take 1 picture. They have some dishes that are amazing and some that you can find better done at other restaurants. Desserts like their caricoa & turon are delicious. The main issue I have, is when the owner yelling at her workers in the kitchen is soo loud, and even cussing in tagalog, that customers in line can hear it and are either concerned or uncomfortable enough that your own daughter, who is the cashier, has to apologize for you, that's where I draw the line. Both friends and even my mom have can confirm it on different visits. It makes you lose your appetite hearing and dealing with that. My sister loves coming here for their mechado, which is one of their specialties so we stopped in. It's turo turo, but they serve breakfast all day and they make that to order. We got mechado, adobo, pinakbet, sweet and sour fish, kare kare, and lumpia to share. The mechado was delicious! Really flavorful and the tastiest out of all the dishes we got. I did like the adobo but it lacked flavor without the sauce. Everything else was just okay. Could be better. For the price, you get quite a lot of rice. I wish they gave bigger scoops of meat though. Right off the 110 Freeway off of Main and Figueroa, next to KFC. I've been coming here for years and I cannot get enough of this place. The best lumpia next to the Lumpia at St. Anthony's carnival (Gardena) in May of each year. They do run out of beef and chicken bbq real quick. Get there before 1pm daily and you will get some but any time after 1pm, you'd be lucky if it was a slow day. The three main things I come to get on the regular, as I did today, is Lumpia, Pancit and Beef Bbq. But they were out of bbq. The hubby got rice. When he's craving he will get Chicken adobe. We didn't get that today. So I left with Lumpia, Pancit and rice. Their service is always great. We order lumpia every Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. The only thing I would change is their lumpia sauce. I prefer the one that is a bit more spicy. All of their food is made fresh daily. This is our go-to spot. The Pancit is never fishy. Always cooked to perfection. This place burned last year which it was closed for some time. It was a bummer for a lot of us folks. I am glad they are all safe, back up and running. We love you Tita Celia's !!! The prices are feasible. The restaurant is always clean. Everyone is always presentable and smiles. I know some days you may bump into staff with a little attitude but I can guarantee that before you walked in, they had a rude customer. The lumpia here was a bit more dense than I'm used to. The meats were all marinated well and seasoned with good flavor. I got a mix plate, lumpia, and a halo halo and all the items were great! Big portions and nothing was too heavy or salty. I do want to note that their halo halo wasn't ready when I ordered my mix plate but the employee told me if I wanted to wait like 5 min, they could make it so I did. Didn't wait too long but before you leave, make sure you have all the items you paid for. I had to double check my orders and my lumpia was missing which I think is because I went during rush hour but they were so nice to fetch it for me asap. The prices may be a bit higher than other joints but the food here feels homemade and portions are enough for 2 people, even more. There's not much seating inside for more than 20ish people and the parking lot can be difficult to find/get into. Definitely a great to-go place though! My Family and I (4 People) dropped by for Lunch, being that there were three Seniors in our group who could not eat much, one is a Cancer Patient, we only ordered three Combo Meals to share...nothing to do with economics of not being able to afford a Meal!!! I approached the Cash Register Attendant to asked for extra Plastic Spoon and Fork since the three Meals only came with three sets of Utensils, the cashier, with a smug attitude proceeded to tell me that I only ordered three Meals, why asked for a 4th set of Plastic utensils? I informed her that I am willing to pay for it, in which I laid a $5.00 bill on the Counter for payment!!! I then asked a server behind the food Counter for an Extra Paper Plate...attitude was equally repugnant, I also paid her $5.00 for the extra Paper plate to let her know that me asking for extras was not because we are welfare cases!!! The Cashier must have felt embarrassed with her despicable attitude, she attempted to return the $5.00, I was so pissed, I stood up and told her I'll give it back as a tip...I dropped it in the tip Can or Jar!!!
