My husband and I recently visited Polaris while in Atlanta, and the experience was memorable. The rotating restaurant offers beautiful panoramic views of the city, and watching the skyline change throughout the meal was definitely the highlight of the evening. What made our visit especially enjoyable was our waitress. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed excited to help us celebrate our time together. She even volunteered to take several photos for us, which we greatly appreciated and which made the evening even more special. I ordered the pork belly and it was good. To my surprise, it is basically cubes of fat with very little meat. The Polaris Oscar steak was cooked to perfection and tasted good. I was surprised that the crab meat was mixed with the asparagus. I ordered the fall beats to go as a meal for the next day. It is a warm dish and is also very tasty. Unfortunately, despite the taste, the steak dish was lukewarm. The portions are very small for the price you pay. The dining area is very unique and has tables, chairs and couches. I was craving Polaris' pork chop and a banana bread old fashioned and gathered some friends and made my reservation on open table for a Friday night ladies night at Polaris. This restaurant never misses. We were greeted by our favorite host and sat in our one of our favorite servers, Su, section. Spring Break road trip with the whole family on our way to Florida for some beach time. Cocktails for the adults and mocktails for the kids. Tasty, fresh and colorful. The food: I mean c'mon! It blew us away. Artisanal olive sourdough bread, melt in your mouth clams in a decadent Calabrian chili sauce, fall apart pork belly, tender filet mignon, and a scrumptious sea bass. My wife and I absolutely loved every bite of every dish. Our kids aren't the fine dining type quite yet. But they couldn't stop eating everything that was brought out this evening. The Polaris Blue Dome (flourless chocolate cake with honey caramel and ice cream dessert) was a piece of art, and tasted as great as it looked. If you want an evening to remember, this is the spot. I went to Polaris for a special event dinner and the restaurant gave a great culinary experience. First of all, the restaurant is located at the top of the Hyatt downtown. You can valet park through the back or front of the hotel. The restaurant validates up to three hours of parking. This makes it easy and you don't have to worry about searching for parking. To enter the restaurant, you make your way to the main elevators on the main floor and you will see a separate elevator to take you to the restaurant. Upon arrival to the restaurant, the restaurant is always clean and elegant. Making it inviting to have dinner. And of course the service was good. However, for such a limited menu and the prices they're asking there isn't a great excuse to not have anything I ask for at a 5pm seating. The drink I asked for, out. The SECOND drink I asked for in place of the original? Also out. The steak I asked for, out. Just kind of wild to have that happen. It almost made me want to ask well what DO you actually have then? The food we received was delicious the bread was small so we had to order two for the five of us. The dessert we were able to split two amongst us and it was delectable. The cappuccino we ordered had coffee grinds in it and flavor wise wasn't much to write home about. I would like to add that we reviewed the menu prior to our reservation so we ordered as soon as possible for all drinks dinner and dessert and it still was about 2+ hours before we were able to leave. For appetizers, we had the bread service, pork belly, and island clams--each one was excellent and full of flavor. For the main course, my daughter ordered the sea scallops, which were perfectly prepared, and we also shared the Wagyu Oscar steak. The steak was outstanding--very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The mixed drinks were also top-tier and complemented the meal well. The service was impeccable. Antoinette was our server, and she was fantastic--very attentive, professional, and friendly throughout the evening. The location is great, the décor is beautiful, and the overall atmosphere adds to the experience. Valet parking is available; just make sure to get your ticket stamped. We were really looking forward to spending the evening with friends and family. Our reservation was for 7:00 p.m., yet our dinner wasn't served until shortly after 9:00 p.m. Our party of 11 was seated nearly 30 minutes late, and then we waited over an hour for our food. When the meals finally arrived, the quality was disappointing--short ribs were bland and the sea bass was cold in the center. By that point, we were more than two hours later than planned, so we ate simply because we were hungry. The delay caused us to be late for our next event, adding to the frustration. Management offered appetizers and dessert as an apology, but only one person received the dessert they ordered. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. Polaris is an incredible experience beginning with the elevator ride to the top of the building. We were greeted energetically by Skyla who sent us up to the top of the Hyatt. The hostess at the top of the elevator was friendly and took us to our seats. We did note on our reservation that it was our Anniversary but did not get asked or greeted about it. We thought the server would acknowledge it. Our reservation was at 9:00PM so it is possible our waitress was tired but the service was disappointing. We have gone to many fine dining establishments and expected at least a mention of our Anniversary. There was a guest with us so that could have made it confusing but we did expect some acknowledgement. Aside from that my drinks were not filled up and the server didn't smile once or make us feel welcome. I don't need over the top service but when you pay for an experience the service can really kill the mood. The food and views made up for the lack of service. The gnocchi appetizer said it was shareable but was very tiny. Although tiny it was well worth it. I had the mushroom ragu over polenta and it was perfect. My table mates had the steak and enjoyed it as well. I would have given this 5 stars if the service was better. I don't think she is typically a bad server but she seemed tired and it brought the mood down for sure. There are so many places to choose from in Atlanta and I think if you have a good server who is engaged it would be the perfect experience. I was intrigued when I read roof top bar for this place. There is a special elevator that is monitored by an employee. We didn't have reservations but she told us we could go to the bar. The bar was totally empty, and from what we could see, the dining room was too. We were fine at the bar. I wasn't impressed with the views. The room does revolve, very slowly. I opted for a peanut butter cup martini, which was very good. The bartender even did a little show by melting the chocolate into the glass. We ordered a charcuterie (I took a picture after we devoured it). It had a variety of items and I wish there had been more cheese. The crackers were solid with sesame seeds. Service was good. It even has its own special entrance and dedicated elevator, which definitely adds to the hype. I heard it was super hard to get a reservation, but luckily I was able to snag one since I was going solo. Overall... it was just okay. The setup is nice, and the vibe is cool, but it didn't quite live up to the buzz. I sat at the bar just to enjoy a drink and take in the view, and yes, you do get to experience the slow rotation. It's a fun concept, but honestly, nothing mind-blowing. It's one of those "nice to say you've done it" things, but not a must-see in my opinion. If you're curious, go for it. YOU GUYS. This is going to be a one of a kind review and a first for me. My husband and I went to The Polaris. This place gets a SIX OUT OF FIVE STARS which I have NEVER done. I have reviewed a lot of restaurants and this one, thus far, has literally taken the cake. This restaurant slowly spins at the top of the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA and if you want to impress your date, THIS is the place to go. We started with the charcuterie board which had the best variety of meats, cheeses, sauces and vegetables I've ever seen. I pointed out the honeycomb and find out they have THEIR OWN BEE HIVES (see photos). You can see where they have their apiary from the restaurant. We also got the Better than Cheddar bread plate to share. Very nice as well. Then we shared The Polaris Steak which came with amazing sides and we were stuffed. Now. Here's the best part. We were blessed to have Antoinette as our server. Antoinette provided us with everything we needed and more during our last night away from home. I laughed a lot and just had the best time thanks to Antoinette's unique and amazing personality. I love meeting new and beautiful people on our trips and Antoinette takes the cake so I am thankful. The ambiance is superb with an amazing rotating view of the city. Our server was great and overall the food was very solid. The cheeseboard to start was delicious and we enjoyed the local cheeses. My wife was disappointed that at 6pm there were already out of the entree she had hoped to order. We both ended up getting the sea bass and it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The only reason I am giving it a because of our server Antionette who was beyond amazing. *** After 4 months of advance booking, I finally had a chance to celebrate my first anniversary at the coveted OG revolving restaurant, Polaris (on the top floor of Hyatt Regency in Downtown Atlanta) Here is the summary of my experience and why am I giving it a 5-star even though I was not mesmerized by it. --- A couple of things first: --- This place is not open on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday so make sure you take that into account --- Make sure you make a reservation 2-3 months in advance because you will not get a reservation most likely even a month in advance as this place is always booked --- Now that you have reserved the place, please make sure that you do not reach here before 30 minutes of your reservation unless you want to pay for valet parking. The reason is that they do not let you upstairs 10 minutes before your reserved time and they validate your parking for 3 hours from the time you reach there. So unless you want to be in a rush, make sure you a just a little earlier than your reserved time. --- When I visited the place, there were NO chicken dishes. So if you are allergic to fish and do not eat beef, you will have to be content with limited vegetarian dish :( Now coming to my experience: -- Ambiance 4/5: Please hear me out. This place has an amazing decor and ambiance. There is a live chef that you can see working on your dishes. The reason I gave it a 4/5 rating is because I missed the USP of this place. The revolving restaurant has a slow movement and you truly do not witness it unless you are making a hyperlapse video. Plus this place is now surrounded by taller buildings so the view is kind of hidden and scattered which leaves you wanting for more. If this was just a regular restaurant, I would give it a 5 for decor but since it is a revolving rooftop and I kind of didn't find it that way hence giving it a 4/5 --- Service 6/5: Our server Antionette was beyond amazing. She made sure that we were comfortable, brought out helpful suggestions, and even took our pictures with ideas on the way we should pose. She even complemented us with a free dessert for our anniversary. Also, the chef gave us complimentary bread just because he did not like the presentation which was a pleasant surprise! She would be a major reason for us to be back :) --- Food 4/5: The food for me was a mixed bag and I definitely want to highlight the absence of chicken dishes from the menu. My wife loved it and completely devoured it. Main Course: a) Roasted Bone-in Monkfish: My wife did not like it. It was spicy (listen to your server when they tell you this :) ). I was not a fan of the gravy either. So if you like monkfish and spicy food, try it on your own accord. We didn't even like the Japanese eggplant in it b) Lentil Falafel + Spiced Couscous: This one is only for the brave who loves couscous. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. I was relieved that the lentil falafel was great and we both finished it quickly. This one is recommended from my side. Dessert: a) The Polaris blue dome: Although I wanted to try the sweet potato cheesecake which was not available, we went for the famous dome. Make sure you have some space for this because we loved this. "Atlanta's Iconic Rotating Restaurant" Came here for a nightcap, since it is NOT safe to walk around downtown Atlanta at night... So nice to have this at the Hyatt we are staying in. So everything we ordered, we made sure included that honey. Smoked Honey O - Janessa asked how I would like it. This was by far a great experience in Atlanta. I went with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. Ambience: The space is quaint, comfortable and relaxing. Music was at the right volume, lighting was great. The rotation of the dome was very subtle and a unique spin on the dining experience. Only draw back, all the tall buildings blocked some of the views. Service: Every point of contact from getting on to the elevator to the end of night, all of the restaurant staff was great. Would have been 5-Stars if I didn't have Michael as my server (tall older man with a white mustache and horrible manners). I was excited to go to this restaurant for some drinks and food. My bad experience started when I answered the question "still or sparkling water". I didn't know that sparkling water was the wrong answer but Michael's body language and attitude towards me the rest of the evening made it very clear. After that he decided to over share relatively inappropriate stories at which he was the only one laughing and our party of 4 was left uncomfortable. He didn't consider the fact that we were only interested in sharing drinks and appetizers and made it his duty to sell us on the expensive items on the menu and was very annoyed when we didn't take his suggestion on the $100 wagyu. When bringing the cocktails out one member of our party got the smoked cocktail and couldn't even remember who and when I corrected him he gave me a look that could kill. Came here for a dinner reception. The rotating view was everything. The cocktails were mixed so well and the bar tenders knew how to be consistent with the drinks. The food was amazing. From the cold station to the desserts, no dish was left behind. read more

*review for drinks and dessert only* I was staying at the Hyatt and didn't even realize this bar existed until my coworker told me to go up to the top floor bar. I'm glad I did! I went with a friend and it took us a while to realize we were rotating! I love towers that rotate like the space needle and the one in Chicago so I was really enjoying my visit. We both ordered the espresso martini which was made with tequila and had a Coca-Cola foam. So interesting and so good. The foam didn't take over the drink to make it taste lime soda, but I took a spoonful to really see what the flavor was and it really did taste like coke. It was a good addition. We both enjoyed the cheesecake as well. It isn't your traditional cheesecake slice that's usually boring. This was art that tasted delicious. It hit the spot of something sweet that we were craving. I am glad I was told to go upstairs cause I would have missed this bar completely during my stay. read more
