Beautiful 360 degree views (had to include the fam, teenagers dressed up and with their parents doesn't happen often)

It's one of those nights that will be remembered for the ages. At a place like this, food isn't just food. It's an experience and a shared memory you can reminisce and laugh about years from now. Spring Break road trip with the whole family on our way to Florida for some beach time. We wanted a special place for our stay over in Atlanta since we weren't driving 10+ hrs in one day with 2 teenagers in the car ;-). Polaris delivered on all levels. The views of downtown Atlanta and the sunset from this top floor rotating restaurant were picturesque to say the least. Something you don't experience very often. Cocktails for the adults and mocktails for the kids. Tasty, fresh and colorful. The food: I mean c'mon! It blew us away. Artisanal olive sourdough bread, melt in your mouth clams in a decadent Calabrian chili sauce, fall apart pork belly, tender filet mignon, and a scrumptious sea bass. My wife and I absolutely loved every bite of every dish. Our kids aren't the fine dining type quite yet. But they couldn't stop eating everything that was brought out this evening. The Polaris Blue Dome (flourless chocolate cake with honey caramel and ice cream dessert) was a piece of art, and tasted as great as it looked. If you want an evening to remember, this is the spot. Bring the family, bring a loved one, come with a group of friends...it's an experience you won't soon forget.

Pricey. But worth the views. Antionette was the best server. She was very knowledgeable about the charcuterie board and what paired well with what. Her knowledge made the evening top notch. And she knew what each section of the view was as it rotated. I can't recommend her enough as server. The rose I had was really fresh - like they opened the bottle just for my glass. The local honey was so so good. It can't get more local than the rooftop where they source it.

I went to Polaris for a special event dinner and the restaurant gave a great culinary experience. First of all, the restaurant is located at the top of the Hyatt downtown. You can valet park through the back or front of the hotel. The restaurant validates up to three hours of parking. This makes it easy and you don't have to worry about searching for parking. To enter the restaurant, you make your way to the main elevators on the main floor and you will see a separate elevator to take you to the restaurant. Upon arrival to the restaurant, the restaurant is always clean and elegant. Making it inviting to have dinner. And of course the service was good. From the chef's detail to dishes and the waitress making sure you enjoy your experience, it is a great time. Plus, each course was made and served with intention!

Three generations of my family met in Atlanta and chose Polaris to celebrate -- and it was everything we hoped for. This historic restaurant still captures the magic of classic hospitality, complete with stunning rotating skyline views. Antoinette was outstanding -- warm, attentive, and spot-on with her recommendations based on our preferences. Every course was excellent, and you'll definitely want to save room for dessert! We were treated to a spectacular sunset as the room slowly turned, giving us a panoramic view of the city while we enjoyed our meal. A truly memorable experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

When dinner comes with a 360° view, Polaris delivers both the spectacle and the substance. Located atop the Hyatt Regency in downtown Atlanta, Polaris is reached by its own dedicated elevator, and the reveal is worth it: a polished, rotating restaurant that gives you ever-changing city views while you dine. The space feels special without being stuffy, making it a great pick for occasions. Service & Atmosphere * Professional, polished staff--attentive without hovering * Kid-friendly beyond expectations (we brought our one-year-old for our anniversary dinner and felt very welcome) * Rotating dining room is a unique experience that adds to the occasion Drinks * Speaker Box Cocktail - missable, unbalanced flavor (skip this one) * Wine - solid selections, rescued the drink experience Food * Focaccia - surprisingly delicious; olive oil + butter combo was addictive * Filet Oscar-Style - perfectly cooked filet over mashed potatoes, topped with crab, bearnaise, and asparagus; rich and satisfying * Sea Bass - seared with a barbecue edge, buttery inside, served over rice; vibrant and memorable * Coupe Polaris - Polaris Blue Dome Honey Ice Cream, Uncle Nearest Whiskey Vanilla Ice Cream, peach marmalade, pâte sucrée, and caramelized pecan; an inventive and indulgent dessert Verdict Polaris is more than a novelty--it's a polished, rotating fine-dining restaurant with truly excellent food and service. Perfect for anniversaries, celebrations, or simply when you want dinner with a view. A must-visit in downtown Atlanta.

Excellent place to enjoy a relaxing dinner or to just have drinks. Michael was our wonderful server who took time to go over the menu and point out how each selection is prepared. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the city while we dined. It was a little uncomfortable sitting on a sofa. Next time I'll ask for a table with a chair

Our server Antoinette was simply amazing. One of the best I've experienced in a long time. The food recommendations were life-changingly good. I highly recommend Polaris for your dining experience and what a dining experience it will be. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end.Ask for Antoinette she's the absolute BEST!! Your stomach will thank you.

Polaris, located at the Hyatt Regency, was truly an amazing experience from start to finish. For appetizers, we had the bread service, pork belly, and island clams--each one was excellent and full of flavor. For the main course, my daughter ordered the sea scallops, which were perfectly prepared, and we also shared the Wagyu Oscar steak. The steak was outstanding--very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The mixed drinks were also top-tier and complemented the meal well. The service was impeccable. Antoinette was our server, and she was fantastic--very attentive, professional, and friendly throughout the evening. The location is great, the décor is beautiful, and the overall atmosphere adds to the experience. Valet parking is available; just make sure to get your ticket stamped. There is no military discount, unfortunately, but overall, this was a really great visit. I would definitely return and highly recommend Polaris for a special dining experience.

Amazing food, service, and ambiance. I'm from Phoenix and our Hyatt regency also has a rotating restaurant that pales in comparison to this one.

Fantastic atmosphere and excellent cuisine. Highly recommended. Subtle rotation makes for a magnificent dining experience. Will definitely come again. The steak was amazing and the crab was buttery.

This restaurant deserves more recognition for it's set up and it's food. I will say the food is a little overpriced. It was good but I don't think it should be as expensive as it was. Great views. Service was good until our server decided to grab my dates fork of her plate to act he's eating the food to make a point. Also didn't ask if we were finished, just took our plate. Other than that I enjoyed this restaurant very much

Found this place after being extremely unhappy at the lobby bar. It's at the top of the hotel and it rotates. Next time I would make dining reservations but we lucked out getting there right before they opened to get seats at the bar. Excellent drinks and great food. My husband said the pork belly was the best he's ever had. The cauliflower was delicious and the cheese and crackers on the charcuterie were great. Husband had the meat on the board and liked it. Attentive staff. Great place to impress a date or client.

Polaris is an incredible experience beginning with the elevator ride to the top of the building. We were greeted energetically by Skyla who sent us up to the top of the Hyatt. The hostess at the top of the elevator was friendly and took us to our seats. We did note on our reservation that it was our Anniversary but did not get asked or greeted about it. We thought the server would acknowledge it. Our reservation was at 9:00PM so it is possible our waitress was tired but the service was disappointing. We have gone to many fine dining establishments and expected at least a mention of our Anniversary. There was a guest with us so that could have made it confusing but we did expect some acknowledgement. Aside from that my drinks were not filled up and the server didn't smile once or make us feel welcome. I don't need over the top service but when you pay for an experience the service can really kill the mood. The food and views made up for the lack of service. The gnocchi appetizer said it was shareable but was very tiny. Although tiny it was well worth it. I had the mushroom ragu over polenta and it was perfect. My table mates had the steak and enjoyed it as well. I would have given this 5 stars if the service was better. I don't think she is typically a bad server but she seemed tired and it brought the mood down for sure. There are so many places to choose from in Atlanta and I think if you have a good server who is engaged it would be the perfect experience. I say perfect because the food is great and the views are incredible.

I saw in a previous question they are child friendly, is there a menu for kids?

I only recall one main menus. But the staff and chef are extremely accommodating and I bet would work with you to accommodate children.

Is Polaris kid friendly? If so, do they have high chairs?

Elizabeth, Polaris welcomes guests of all ages, and we will be happy to assist with high chairs or other accommodations as needed. Hope to see you soon!

    Does it actually rotate?

    Yes. Actually does.

Are there vegan options? Unclear from menu what might be vegan.

Not much honestly beyond salads and a few appetizers. The menu in general isn't that extensive.

    Are there vegetarian options?

I sat at the bar and had a little light banter with the bartender who is a brother looking to be in his late 30's-early 40's. When I asked about two fruity cocktails from the menu, he flat-out said he wasn't going to make them. That alone was off-putting. Trying to move forward, I asked what he specialized in, and he said he'd "come up with something." I agreed--but very clearly stated: no rum, because my body does not react well to it. After watching him make drinks for people who ordered after me, he eventually handed me a cocktail I never even saw him prepare. That already raised a flag. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect. This situation completely threw off my evening, as I had plans afterward and ended up feeling sick. To make matters worse, I reached out to management and received no response. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. At the end of the day, this wasn't just a bad drink--it was careless service. This staff does not prioritize customer care, and that's a problem. If you choose to visit, be very direct, pay close attention, and don't assume your requests will be respected.
