[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great date night spot to have great views of the city.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They were busy so I ended up going through valet as the alternative parking spots were taken. Service was great and attentive however it was confusing as we arrived and were greeted with "welcome in and it's an open bar" but we realized when the large bill came they just meant "the bar is open". Sort of out a damper on the evening. Overall the service all around was attentive. Crispy rice is one of my favorite dishes, but this missed the mark. It was more like a hash brown style of crispy rice which didn't hold up with the toppings. Not bad but wouldn't order again. Definitely will return for the skyline views.

Went to Tesserae on a Sunday evening after brunch and just stopped in for drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a gorgeous day out, perfect rooftop weather, so we sat outside and the views were amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole vibe was super chill and relaxed, and it wasn't very busy, which made it even better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We really enjoyed our drinks and just being able to sit back and take in the scenery. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's definitely a great spot to unwind, catch up, and enjoy nice weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd definitely come back again and would love to try the food next time!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful place. Beautiful hotel. Great aesthetic, decor, design, atmosphere, and a beautiful view at the rooftop restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great location and I suggested we go here because the weather was beautiful and the view made me happy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hotel, 10/10. That said, do not go here for the food or the service. 2/10. Food horrible, service much to be desired. Made reservations for 4:15pm on a Tuesday. The Tesseare restaurant atop the Tess hotel is huge, yet we, and one other guest of the hotel were they only patrons. I arrived at 3:50pm, no one was at the entry to seat me for a while so I went in to seat myself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Shortly after, a guy came and handed me a dirty menu. The menus are paper and full of stains.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They need to revert to QR code only, or print out the menus on a sheet or paper and laminate them if they are too lazy to request new menus from corporate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server changed because at 5pm they have a shift change. Due to this, we waited 45mins for salads. Salads! I would rather they close for an hour like other restaurants to get it together, then reopen because this was horrible. So bad the chef came out to apologize for the chicken on the salad being hard, dry, and cold. There's a lot going on about fake chicken and fake poultry, but this actually tastes fake and rubbery. They remade it, it was just warm and rubbery, no flavor, dry. The server kept forgetting items we requested, it was all too much for no reason. The biscuits were the only thing we enjoyed that was fresh and hot, but we had to ask twice because she forgot about them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Tess hotel itself was lovely, the rooftop view, beautiful. The vibes, there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They need to work on the service and the food. I don't need excuses as to why the food is trash and the service is lacking, just fix it and move on. Or block reservations if you only have a skeleton crew during the week.

Ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]The moment you walk in The Tess hotel, you are intrigued by its intricate design & decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once you reach the top floor, the view of the entire city (Atlanta) is breathtaking![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Make sure to reserve a seat outside on the patio deck.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service: The service is outstanding, very attentive, friendly and professional. Be mindful on weekends, it gets busy which can delay your order/drinks. Food: The absolute BEST! Cooked to perfection! For starters, you must try the Smoked Pimento Deviled Eggs, and Truffle French Fries. For entree, I ordered Pan Roasted King Salmon potato purée, baby spinach, lemon caper beurre blanc, DELICIOUS!! To top it off, grab an Apple Pie for dessert. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One of the BEST rooftops in ATLANTA![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My friends and I made plans to celebrate one of their birthdays at a rooftop bar. Reservations were made in advance which did require a credit card. We got seated right away and found that they were about half full on a Friday night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a beautiful view of the skyline and the sun set.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Having to had eaten before, only a few of us got entrées that included the Sirloin steak and shrimp scampi. Steak was tender, and the shrimp scampi had a beautiful garlic flavor to it. We enjoyed our drinks as well as as the view. Overall, we had a great time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If only the other fire pit was working as it was a particularly cold and windy night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Prices are certainly a little on the more extravagant side, but is relatively justified with the view, location, and atmosphere. Would come again!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Tesserae was fun. Great atmosphere for a birthday celebration.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Roof top pics are a must.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff are good, and the food was also. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dj was playing great music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Popular spot make a reservation.

This space is beautiful and such a vibe. We lucked up as a group of six and were able to get a seating in the couch area by the hostess stand. We were seated around 10:05 PM and continually told a waiter would be by to take our food and drink orders. They arrived around 1015 and I ordered the love language cocktail, which had tequila, and the jerk oxtail primavera. The pasta was very delicious, could have used a smidge more oxtail but was flavored and seasoned beautifully. Our food came before our drinks due to the bar being backed up. My drink was superb, very refreshing and all the flavors melded well.

Food menu was deprecated (ran out of brussel sprouts and the baby iceberg salad was disappointing). Drink was ok! Female bartender had an attitude! Ambience very nice however including view from patio on a cold night! Caitlin the Tesse Rae Concierge was very nice as well as Adrianna at the front desk of the hotel staff! May come back ONLY to check out Wednesday live jazz...maybe! Valet was very professional also!

Beautiful rooftop with amazing views and food, it's everything you could want on a Saturday night. Service was a bit slow but our server was friendly so I sipped my wine and waited it out. The steak was delicious and the wedge salad was also tasty. They had a DJ spinning R&B and afro beats. It was the perfect rooftop summer vibe. I'll surely return for a cocktail in the future.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was gorgeous but wow terrible service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would like to preface that when we arrived. This place was basically empty. Took 15 minutes for the waiter to come up and they only did because we flagged them down. We then waited 40 minutes for three cocktails and truffle fries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Again, gorgeous location, terrible service, and our drinks were awful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    French 75 Mezcal cocktail
    Kim B.

My best friend and I came here after an anniversary gala (arriving around 10:30pm on a Friday night). We knew we wanted to go somewhere where we wouldn't feel out of place being dressed in long dresses. On the 10th floor of this beautiful hotel, we were greeted by a friendly host who sat us down near the patio so we had a view of buckhead and was near the DJ. I ordered a mezcal cocktail that on the menu, and my friend got the French 75 rendition. We really enjoyed our cocktails. Mine interestingly was served in a floral mug that we felt didn't really match the vibe of the bar, but it was good nonetheless. Overall, I'd come back here and probably try some of their food next time, too. We found parking on the street right next to the hotel, too, so a win for not having to pay.

    Crispy Chicken Sliders
    Shaleah D.

I sat on the patio and the view was absolutely beautiful. My cocktail was exceptional, clearly crafted with care and balanced perfectly. The sliders were decent; the chicken itself could have used more seasoning, but the sauce definitely helped the flavor. Overall, Tesserae is a beautiful spot to enjoy drinks and the atmosphere alone makes it worth a visit.

Jazz Wednesdays at Tesserae Rooftop in the Thompson Hotel Buckhead was just what I needed for a laid-back evening with a friend. The atmosphere was easygoing and cool--perfect for unwinding. Since it was Dry January for me, I can't speak to the cocktails, but just a heads-up: the mocktails are priced about the same as cocktails. Food-wise, my friend had the rainbow trout, and it was delicious. I went for the "shareable" crab cake and the sesame milk buns with honey butter. FYI--the crab cake is not shareable, but it was worth it. As for the buns, they were soft and delightful, though I think a salted butter would have hit better than the honey butter. Still, everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The jazz? Pure vibes. A beautiful, grown crowd soaking up soothing yet lively tunes. The musicians did their thing, playing familiar favorites. All in all, it was a smooth and enjoyable evening--perfect for catching up with a friend, date night or just soaking in the music solo.

Unfortunately, not a place we'd return to. Came here for the first time on a Saturday at 6pm with my husband, and surprisingly, we were the only people in the restaurant until about the time we left. Service: 1 star There was plenty of staff, so it was confusing how things still felt so off. Drinks were wrong (I ordered prosecco and was brought white wine), and overall attentiveness just wasn't there. Another disappointment was at the end - my husband paid while I was in the restroom, and when I checked the receipt, I noticed I'd been charged $3 more for the wine. I calmly pointed it out, not even asking for a refund, just to flag it, and the waitress argued with me about it instead of simply acknowledging the mistake. Not a great way to end the night. Drinks: My prosecco mix-up aside, the drinks were just okay. My husband's gin & tonic was fine, but noticeably better ones can be found nearby. (Like our night cap at Yeppa after) Apps: 2 stars * shishito peppers were soggy and overly fried * Caesar salad was heavily dressed and tasted like something you'd get at a diner Entrees: 4 stars * chicken was excellent - well cooked & flavorful. Slaw on the side was a bit random * trout was slightly salty but still very good and cooked perfectly. Skin perfectly crispy & enjoyed the grilled green onion on top. I substituted grilled veggies for the slaw (due to dairy)

Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating, but they did forget my friend's birthday celebration details. We got the salmon and the steak frites. Both were pretty good. The smoke Gouda Mac and cheese was just okay - it was like warm and didn't have that strong bite a good Mac and Cheese should have. The menu seems on the smaller side, but there are a couple of solid options to choose from. I do believe it's kind of overpriced for the portion sizes you receive. I would dine here again, but it'd have to be a very special event.
