Ambiance: The moment you walk in The Tess hotel, you are intrigued by its intricate design & decor. Once you reach the top floor, the view of the entire city (Atlanta) is breathtaking! Make sure to reserve a seat outside on the patio deck. Service: The service is outstanding, very attentive, friendly and professional. Be mindful on weekends, it gets busy which can delay your order/drinks. Food: The absolute BEST! Cooked to perfection! For starters, you must try the Smoked Pimento Deviled Eggs, and Truffle French Fries. For entree, I ordered Pan Roasted King Salmon potato purée, baby spinach, lemon caper beurre blanc, DELICIOUS!! To top it off, grab an Apple Pie for dessert. One of the BEST rooftops in ATLANTA!

My friends and I made plans to celebrate one of their birthdays at a rooftop bar. Reservations were made in advance which did require a credit card. We got seated right away and found that they were about half full on a Friday night. We had a beautiful view of the skyline and the sun set. Having to had eaten before, only a few of us got entrées that included the Sirloin steak and shrimp scampi. Steak was tender, and the shrimp scampi had a beautiful garlic flavor to it. We enjoyed our drinks as well as as the view. Overall, we had a great time. If only the other fire pit was working as it was a particularly cold and windy night. Prices are certainly a little on the more extravagant side, but is relatively justified with the view, location, and atmosphere. Would come again!

Tesserae was fun. Great atmosphere for a birthday celebration. Roof top pics are a must. Staff are good, and the food was also. Dj was playing great music. Popular spot make a reservation.

This space is beautiful and such a vibe. We lucked up as a group of six and were able to get a seating in the couch area by the hostess stand. We were seated around 10:05 PM and continually told a waiter would be by to take our food and drink orders. They arrived around 1015 and I ordered the love language cocktail, which had tequila, and the jerk oxtail primavera. The pasta was very delicious, could have used a smidge more oxtail but was flavored and seasoned beautifully. Our food came before our drinks due to the bar being backed up. My drink was superb, very refreshing and all the flavors melded well.

Food menu was deprecated (ran out of brussel sprouts and the baby iceberg salad was disappointing). Drink was ok! Female bartender had an attitude! Ambience very nice however including view from patio on a cold night! Caitlin the Tesse Rae Concierge was very nice as well as Adrianna at the front desk of the hotel staff! May come back ONLY to check out Wednesday live jazz...maybe! Valet was very professional also!

Beautiful rooftop with amazing views and food, it's everything you could want on a Saturday night. Service was a bit slow but our server was friendly so I sipped my wine and waited it out. The steak was delicious and the wedge salad was also tasty. They had a DJ spinning R&B and afro beats. It was the perfect rooftop summer vibe. I'll surely return for a cocktail in the future.

My best friend and I came here after an anniversary gala (arriving around 10:30pm on a Friday night). We knew we wanted to go somewhere where we wouldn't feel out of place being dressed in long dresses. On the 10th floor of this beautiful hotel, we were greeted by a friendly host who sat us down near the patio so we had a view of buckhead and was near the DJ. I ordered a mezcal cocktail that on the menu, and my friend got the French 75 rendition. We really enjoyed our cocktails. Mine interestingly was served in a floral mug that we felt didn't really match the vibe of the bar, but it was good nonetheless. Overall, I'd come back here and probably try some of their food next time, too. We found parking on the street right next to the hotel, too, so a win for not having to pay.

Jazz Wednesdays at Tesserae Rooftop in the Thompson Hotel Buckhead was just what I needed for a laid-back evening with a friend. The atmosphere was easygoing and cool--perfect for unwinding. Since it was Dry January for me, I can't speak to the cocktails, but just a heads-up: the mocktails are priced about the same as cocktails. Food-wise, my friend had the rainbow trout, and it was delicious. I went for the "shareable" crab cake and the sesame milk buns with honey butter. FYI--the crab cake is not shareable, but it was worth it. As for the buns, they were soft and delightful, though I think a salted butter would have hit better than the honey butter. Still, everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The jazz? Pure vibes. A beautiful, grown crowd soaking up soothing yet lively tunes. The musicians did their thing, playing familiar favorites. All in all, it was a smooth and enjoyable evening--perfect for catching up with a friend, date night or just soaking in the music solo.

I sat on the patio and the view was absolutely beautiful. My cocktail was exceptional, clearly crafted with care and balanced perfectly. The sliders were decent; the chicken itself could have used more seasoning, but the sauce definitely helped the flavor. Overall, Tesserae is a beautiful spot to enjoy drinks and the atmosphere alone makes it worth a visit.

Went midweek when looking for a rooftop bar with a view. Great view, nice patio. Didn't have to wait long to put in our drink order at the bar despite it being very busy. The bartender making our drinks got distracted by another patron asking to close out in the middle of making our drinks, so the my sat in the shakers for a bit. He poured them, didn't seem satisfied by them and immediately remade them. The drinks were really good

The rooftop was beautiful, has stunning views of the city and enough seating in and outdoors. The server was nice but the service was slow so be prepared for that. This place is not ideal for groups, they have rules for groups for example 10 people have to order $40 worth of food so I don't suggest going in a large group and highly suggest making a reservation in advance if you can. I did not get anything to eat however, I tried a zero proof cocktail the Berry Moon, I personally didn't like it I expected it to be sweet and fruity but it tasted like a V8. Parking is valet or you can park in the garage next door if you can't find street parking.

Great View, Friendly Staff, But Service Timing Needs Work We made a same-day reservation at Tesserae to celebrate a birthday and noted it in our booking. When we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly and acknowledged the occasion, which was a lovely touch. I had also requested a spot to enjoy the sunset, but there was a private event in that section. It would've been nice to get a heads-up by email or phone beforehand, but thankfully we were still able to enjoy the view from the open patio -- no big deal. Our server, Erine, was delightful and engaging at the start. We ordered drinks from their specialty cocktail menu and deviled eggs to start. The drinks were fantastic -- so much so that we ordered another round to try more of their creations. We also placed orders for Caesar salads, expecting the appetizer and salads to come out while we enjoyed our second drinks. Unfortunately, things started to unravel from there. The second round of drinks never arrived, and neither did the deviled eggs or salads. Despite the restaurant not being very busy (maybe 20-25 people total), there were long gaps in service. Our entrées arrived before any of the earlier courses, and the food runner didn't seem to notice or ask about it. Erine later returned, apologizing for a "kitchen mix-up," and said management would like to serve the missed items on the house. We declined the salads but accepted the deviled eggs -- which, when they finally arrived, were worth the wait. We also ordered wine with our entrées, but again, there was a significant delay; the wine didn't come until we were halfway through our meal. Near the end of dinner, a food runner surprised us with a complimentary dessert and candle for the birthday -- a kind gesture, though again the timing felt off. One of the managers stopped by to apologize for the service timing and even offered to pack the missed salads to go, which we appreciated but politely declined. The restaurant had a live jazz band that evening, and although they were originally supposed to set up near our table, the host thoughtfully moved them elsewhere and let us know. We appreciated the consideration, though it wouldn't have bothered us to have them close by. When we finished dinner, we hoped to order another round of cocktails, but it was hard to get our server's attention. Servers should make more consistent table checks -- especially since a 20% service charge is automatically added regardless of party size. After dinner, I wanted to look up the names of our dishes to include in this review, but the restaurant's website was outdated and missing menu details -- another small but important detail that could enhance the overall experience. Despite the bumps, our entrées were delicious, the view of downtown Buckhead's sunset and full moon was spectacular, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly, engaging, and thoughtful. The biggest issues were timing and attentiveness -- both fixable things that would easily elevate the experience from good to outstanding. We'll definitely be back, hoping for smoother service next time because the food, ambiance, and people all have great potential.

Cons $16 a drink can rack up pretty quickly if you're a heavy drinker. Would I Recommend: Yes! Based on the drinks I would definitely recommend this place. This year the drinks were blah, the food was mediocre, the vibe was non-existent, and the service was the bare minimal. I have been to other pop-ups this year and would recommend any of them over this include Rreal Taco down the street or Hamp & Harry's or even just picking up the Grinch Happy Meal at McDonald's. Pros: Parking onsite, Reservations (sort of), friendly host (best part of the experience) and server (but absent), nice decorations. Cons: Expensive, boring drinks, overcooked and poorly plated food, not a lively nor festive vibe, poor communication and customer service. Even though this is the only pop-up pre-charging for their event and it was significantly more than a year ago, we liked having a booked time and it was a great experience previously so we booked in early November, but within an hour of booking, we had to adjust the time via OpenTable to a couple hours later. Faster forward to two days before our booking. Confirmations comes in and we notice it is the old time. Called, left messages, send messages through multiple means. Zero response. Called the next day and finally reached the manager who said that the time we wanted wasn't available even though it was the day before so took a later option at 730. Arrive on time but they don't have a table. While waiting they seat us in another area and offer extras since they are late...but they bring chips and salsa 30 mins after 730 when we were supposed to be seat 10-15 mins after we arrive. No waters or anything. Bring complementary margaritas at 810 but only 4 and there are 6 of us. The waitress was dismissive and there was no one else in the bar when we got there. Finally seated at 830 even though they are timed reservations and said they were going to be asking people to wrap within 15 mins of 730. Food was so basic and slapped on the table. Drinks were not festive at all. Ran out of hot chocolate. No festive cups or anything. It was the most mediocre experience I have had. Skip it!

Unfortunately, not a place we'd return to. Came here for the first time on a Saturday at 6pm with my husband, and surprisingly, we were the only people in the restaurant until about the time we left. Service: 1 star There was plenty of staff, so it was confusing how things still felt so off. Drinks were wrong (I ordered prosecco and was brought white wine), and overall attentiveness just wasn't there. Another disappointment was at the end - my husband paid while I was in the restroom, and when I checked the receipt, I noticed I'd been charged $3 more for the wine. I calmly pointed it out, not even asking for a refund, just to flag it, and the waitress argued with me about it instead of simply acknowledging the mistake. Not a great way to end the night. Drinks: My prosecco mix-up aside, the drinks were just okay. My husband's gin & tonic was fine, but noticeably better ones can be found nearby. (Like our night cap at Yeppa after) Apps: 2 stars * shishito peppers were soggy and overly fried * Caesar salad was heavily dressed and tasted like something you'd get at a diner Entrees: 4 stars * chicken was excellent - well cooked & flavorful. Slaw on the side was a bit random * trout was slightly salty but still very good and cooked perfectly. Skin perfectly crispy & enjoyed the grilled green onion on top. I substituted grilled veggies for the slaw (due to dairy)

The menu seems on the smaller side, but there are a couple of solid options to choose from. I do believe it's kind of overpriced for the portion sizes you receive. The vibe is fun once things get going, but be prepared to wait. Live music started over an hour late, and there's not much standing room, so I'd recommend reserving a table. Now, onto the food. I ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos (three to a plate), which were supposed to be fried shrimp topped with Asian slaw and boom boom sauce. What I got instead? Iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese, and a light drizzle of sauce. Not what was described or expected, or worth $20. Only bottled water available - small bottles for $5+. I declined. The price point overall didn't make much sense throughout the entire menu. To top it off, my friend ordered a Moscato and was given the wrong wine - Chardonnay, if I remember correctly. The waitress initially pushed back, but as the wine aficionado of the group, I could confidently say it wasn't Moscato. She eventually took it back to the bar, apologized, and swapped it. Would we go back? Yes--for the drinks and live music, once the night hits its stride. But for food? Not so much.

The only reason I wouldn't give this place five stars is because the food is just OK. I ordered the shrimp pasta and it had what tasted like almost no seasoning. Everything was cooked nicely. The shrimp was cooked nicely and the pasta was as well but it just needed some salt and I was disappointed because they gave me plastic cutleries and I was looking to see if they had the little salt and black pepper packet in it and it didn't so I couldn't even add any salt on top to make it a little bit more flavorful.
