    Poke Bowl

This is a great place for poke! I have been here many times, and finally took a picture of my food before just devouring it. The fish quality here is really fresh, and they have so many options. My typical order is yellowtail, albacore, and salmon and they all taste great. I also really love their variety of sauces and toppings. They give a generous about of food and the pricing is fair! The restaurant is small but there are a few tables inside. They also have a cooler that is always stocked with drinks. This is one of my favorite poke places in Orange County!

Very generous with their portions which is AWESOME! Quick and friendly service. High quality fish and variety of toppings!

Small hole in the wall place located in a semi-busy plaza. This place is more of a to-go since seating is limited. Their prices are great! I ended up getting a large but the large bowl looked more of a medium to me - fish scoops were small (even though it's 5 scoops of fish). Fish was fresh and cold. Brown rice was good. I like supporting small businesses! Come here if you can for poke!

Decided to come here for a poke bowl after seeing such great reviews. The pricing here is amazing. 5 proteins for $15 is a steal! the portions were good as well. I am only bummed that there is not a lot of sauce and topping options. I would have loved ponzu sauce and some edamame. The food itself was great. Rice and fish were obviously fresh. Service was fast. The place is a little small which is okay, but gives an awkward space between another customer and I. Would def come back!

SUPER LOWKEY SPOT! You need to try this place! This place had tamago, yellowtail, and scallops for protein options, unlike most poke places. The restaurant also maintains a high level of cleanliness! Though the staff person's first language isn't English, they were incredibly kind and patient, making sure to understand exactly what I needed. The quality of both the food and service was outstanding--10/10 for both. The ambiance also stands out, creating a cozy yet welcoming environment. I've tried several poke places, and this one is easily in my top 3. Very fresh fish, and solid pricing at $15 for a large bowl with 5 scoops of fish. While the restaurant is on the smaller side, I highly recommend trying it for takeout. Definitely coming back soon!

I also had two Spam Musubi. I knew this place had to be good since out of all the customers I was the only Haole. I got my food and the box was packed. They have to tape the box shut. The beef ribs were so tender as was the Kalbi. I wish there was more of the Kalbi, it was so good. I'll have to order a separate plate on my next visit. I love chicken, and theirs was delicious. My Musubi was also delicious. Eating here is like getting a plate at a friend's house. The food is that good. I need to explore more of the menu on future visits. I'm not sure if we just came on a bad day or what. I'm from Hawaii, so I know what local Hawaiian…read morefood tastes like, since I grew up eating it. And this place was not the traditional Hawaiian food I'm used to eating. I was highly disappointed since I had high expectations from seeing a TikTok social media influencer who came here to eat. His video showed food that looked way different than what we got. The restaurant is very tiny located inside a strip mall that shares a little parking lot with a medical center, nail hair salon, and other businesses. It was very difficult finding a parking spot. The inside is narrow and has about three tables to sit at and there might be a table outside too. Their menu was extensive, and the prices were reasonable with the portion size of food they give you. The customer service was great. The cashier guy was super friendly and was helping people out as quickly as possible. The place was packed and the line was out the door. Let's start with the Kanak Attack. It had 4 baby fried shrimp that was good, but I wished they were bigger pieces. The BBQ chicken was cut into little pieces, so it was dry and overcooked. The Kalbi ribs were two little pieces that had great flavor, but wished I got at least one whole strip. The Portuguese sausages were a disappointment and didn't taste anything like the kind we have in Hawaii. The Joe Shack had the dry pieces of BBQ chicken, chewy steak pieces, and a fatty beef rib. The steak was seasoned well, but was overcooked, so it was chewy. The beef rib had nothing but fat and barely had any meat on it. It was so greasy and gross that my husband couldn't even eat it. I would not recommend the beef rib unless you like eating fat. Another thing that was really bad was the macaroni salad. That's one of the most traditional local Hawaiian food, and if you can't get that right, then you have missed the mark. I would skip this and get double rice instead. They are supposedly famous for their Musubi. The Hawaiians love their Spam, so when you make Spam Musubi, then make sure the portion of rice and Spam is equivalent. My piece of Spam in the Musubi was so thin, that I barely tasted it. The rice and spicy mayo were delicious, but it was way too small. That is not what a Spam Musubi should look like. I would not recommend this unless they changed it, and put a thicker piece of Spam. The Char Sui Pork Fried Rice looked nothing like the photo. Char Sui should not look pink. It definitely was too sweet and was not cooked properly. The rice was too sticky for fried rice. The flavor was off. This dish was a hot mess, and I would not recommend it. Don't be surprised if you use your card to pay, and get an extra charge. There's no sign about an extra charge. They charge you $1.30 if you use your card. Basically, they want you to use cash only. We definitely will not be coming back here again. I was so excited about this place since I wanted some homeland food, but I guess the hunt for best Hawaiian food continues.

Matiki Island BBQ on Lincoln in Anaheim is the kind of place that makes a family dinner feel easy…read more We went for the island BBQ plate energy, and it delivered. The beef ribs were really good, big and properly cooked, the kind of meat you actually talk about on the way home. The galbi was right there with them, savory and satisfying, and between the two we were set. The kids loved the spam musubi. That alone would have made the stop worth it for us. Spam musubi is one of those things that either works for kids or turns into a negotiation, and here there was no negotiation. They were happy, which meant the adults got to eat in peace for a minute. Dessert sealed it. They have a version of Dole Whip that tastes just like Disneyland. I am not being cute about that. Same soft, cold, pineapple hit you remember from the park, which is a wild thing to get after a plate of ribs in Anaheim. We finished full and already half-planning the next visit. One caveat: it was really smoky inside. Enough that I noticed it the whole meal. If I could give 4.5 I would, but I'm rounding up because the food was that good. Portions felt solid for a plate-lunch place, the vibe was casual and family-friendly, and nothing about the meal felt fussy. If you want Hawaiian-style BBQ with kids in tow, this is still an easy yes. Five stars.

One thing that really surprised me was that they actually put their Mac salad directly on the sandwich. I honestly haven't had Mac salad with tuna before, but you can't really notice the tuna flavor at all. It just seems to add more depth to the overall flavor. That said, definitely keep it in mind if you have a fish or tuna allergy. Overall, the Katsu Kimchi Butter Chicken was a really unique and delicious sandwich, and I'd definitely order it again.

When I went back to ask for help, the original cashier brushed me off saying she was on break, and a male server told me they didn't even have any Ube Beignets available??? Umm, wait it's less than an hour past opening time. Being "out" of a front-and-center promo item 30 minutes after opening feels like a bait-and-switch. Take the sign down if you can't honor it. What I love most about Poke District is the quality of everything. From the poke to the rice, everything is consistently fresh without being overly expensive. I always get the build-your-own bowl with salmon, white rice and the Hot Lava flavor. One thing I really like is that they mix the flavor directly into the poke rather than simply drizzling the sauce on top, which is a major plus for me. They're also super accommodating with modifications. I don't really like seaweed salad, so I always ask for it to be replaced with an extra scoop of crab meat instead! I've also seen some reviews complaining about the kiosk and people not liking it. The kiosk is simply an additional option, so if you don't want to use it, you don't have to. I honestly didn't even notice it at first and just ordered my meal with one of the staff members as usual. Poke District is always super quick, never taking more than five minutes to prepare my bowl. They also make sure your bowl is prepared exactly how you want it before packing it up, which I really appreciate. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend Poke District to anyone looking for a higher-quality poke spot in the area!
