Visited with my husband and daughter a week ago, and we all had positive things to say about our bowls. They were all good and they have a nice selection of sauces. We were able to try a few of them before adding to our bowl. They were a little light on filing the bowls so we had to keep saying, please add more, but other than that our bowls were great. We were in/out quickly. There is a restroom my husband was allowed to use. We were picking up our order to take home with us, since it was nearby. We noticed a few open tables inside, but no was dining inside, not sure if this was due the restaurant's request but the tables outside were being used by patrons. I was on a Poke grind so I was feeling some Poke as soon as I had returned from Hawaii. Please know that I had just had some of the world's best poke for days before I ate here, but that being said, you have to compare apples to apples. The poke here is just okay. The fish themselves taste like they were previously frozen, which is not a crime. It doesn't taste bad, nor fishy, nor anything sketchy. It's just plain. The sauces are really what make the difference, and in my opinion, the spicy aioli sauce or one of the orange-colored creamy spicy sauces will be necessary to fully enjoy the poke. The other sauces are ok. The pricing is alright, but I like that you can add lots of free add-ons, as well as paid add-ons too. When I first started going here, they had so many options. Mango was my favorite topping that went missing. As time went on, they took away some toppings, added charges to others, it's a bit out of hand. The really small fish eggs are now an additional cost. Great place to fulfill your poke cravings! Although pricey, it's definitely a treat. Recently they're doing a deal in which if you spend $25 for a gift card, you get a regular meal for free, which is a great deal in my opinion, especially since each main entree comes out to about $14. Food: there are a variety of choices and toppings to add which provides a multitude of textures. I typically get the sriracha aioli sauce and I notice that the spice level on it is not consistent. Sometimes it is mildly spicey where it just provides a tingling sensation on your tongue and other times it's so spicy that I'm straight up chugging down water. So beware. read more

I've been at this pokeworks location multiple times during quarantine months and it's really amazing. I LOVE their poke burritos. I personally think it's much better than the bowls. Something about the burrito wraps all the flavors together into one nice bite. Also, they slightly like the seaweed wrapping outside which makes it extra yummy. My go to sauces are spicy aioli or the classic. They have some other interesting ones that I'd like to try like spicy gochujang. Overall, pokeburrito are 5/5 and their bowls are 4/5. Also, their mango coconut dessert is really delightful too !! They have actual coconut pieces in it too. The sanitation level in this place is very good too. They have the perfect set up made so that they're protecting their food and their workers from customers with a thick plastic-like barrier between the food stand and the customers. I think they do a great job when taking covid precautions as well. Definitely check this place out ! read more

What a shame this one star review is because this store and it's manager allowed a customers dog that lacked a vaccine collar and which wasn't a service dog into the Pokeworks restaurant which is illegal in NYC anyway. It creates several serious health hazards and negates the effort being put into our new reality with regard to safe dining in a post-covid world. The dog was also within less than one foot from the food. It should be noted in this review also that dogs can in fact carry coronavirus based on CDC guidelines at the time of this review. When I told the manager about the issue he said " we don't feel comfortable serving you please leave" while astonishingly allowing the two customers with a live 50lb animal remain in his restaurant. He then asked for my ID because I work for amazon ( I was off duty ) and took a picture of it. He then menacingly gave it to a random customer friend of his right in front of me. This manager at Fresh Meadows Pokeworks is incompetent at food safety, unprofessional and clearly doesn't understand that only Service dogs are allowed into restaurants in NYC. It's been awhile since I last did a review but the overwhelmingly disappointing experience called for it. First thing was the size of this so called large bowl. If you look at the pictures this was at best a medium. There was no way 3 scoops of tuna were in that container unless they used a teaspoon. Then there was the flavor of their "pokeworks classic sauce" or the lack there of. It was some kind of water down asian mayo and did nothing to enhance the bowl. Now here comes the real kicker, the sushi rice, it was horrendous! It had pieces of hardened day old rice in every bite. At first I thought it was the garlic chips but then I realized it wasn't when I kept spitting out the old rice. Lastly, the tuna was extremely fibrous and not pleasant to try and break down. Big fan of Pokeworks. Consistent seafood and fresh ingredients regardless of which location I go to. The 188th St. location is conveniently located in a large shopping center and has plenty of parking. During pandemic, there's a few small tables outside and there are benches too if you need to eat right away. On the day we went, I got to try their Spicy Szechuan bowl and added their lava sauce to it. It was spicy and ever so tasty. Service here is friendly and prompt. Definite thumbs up. read more

Haupia is not fresh. Rice and tuna is not fresh. Food sits outside the whole day. You have 4 hours until you can discard the food for safety reasons, but they still decide to put old food out for sell. I saw the other review from the e-coli and it all makes sense now. Pokeworks, you are pretty tasty in my books. Their store is clean with a nice simple modern design. I usually do my own combo for the poke bowl. My go to is salmon with ponzu sauce, plus all the seaweeds, crab salad plus all the crunchy toppings. Soooooo good! Tried the huppia panna cotta with mango and I would NOT recommend. It was pretty terrible. The mango wasnt ripe, panna cotta was not smooth and flavor was not good. The dim sum Chinese coconut jello is so much better. read more

My wife and I order on a fairly regular basis and NEVER had an issue until what will be our last order. Uber Eats sent me a promotion for 50% off 3 orders or up to $15. We placed our usual order and when we received it and after opening the package we looked at each other and wondered why we received two bowls that were slightly more than appetizer portions for $43. Needless to say when Uber Eats sent the how was everything message I let them know. In fact in one of the emails I provided all the details from the receipt from Poke Works. I received the form I'm so sorry message from Poke Works and the obligatory we care for our customer BS. That's the last I heard from them so I figured they should hear from me one more time. Please understand they don't care about their customers. They only care about their bottom line. Both my wife and I are in jobs in which we depend upon our customers and in which we respond to our customers concerns. I usually love ordering from here. I've never been disappointed until today!! I spent $15 for a fraction of what I used to get for the money. I am super particular about the freshness of raw fish so I was a bit hesitant to try this place out but the tuna has been great every time. Plenty of options for proteins, toppings and sauces so you're bound to find something you like. They are extremely efficient in getting orders together quickly. I ordered food thru DoorDash and my order was incorrect. I had ordered 2 bowls, one for myself and the other one for my sister. When it arrived, the dasher brought two identical poke bowls. It was annoying because I didn't like more than half the items in the bowl. When all of a sudden I got a call from an unknown number and he even left a message. It was Steven from the store asking if I received my correct order because they have my bowl there. I asked about a credit but since I ordered it thru a third part member they couldn't do anything remotely. He said he can bring the bowl to me so I accepted it. When he arrived he apologized again (apologized over the phone when he called first) and had brought over my correct bowl AND added a free beverage which was really nice of him and the store to do. The store is well lit and they are clean and taking measures against the spread of COVID-19. They are located adjacent to a large parking lot so that you don't have to worry about finding street parking. I always leave Pokeworks with a hearty bowl of my favorite proteins--salmon and tuna, along with all my favorite vegetables and toppings. Their price is quite reasonable for the amount of food you get. I usually get the 2 protein option and it always leaves me enough for second meal/snack. This Pokeworks location is my favorite location! Located in a small shopping strip, this place offers plenty of parking. The actual ordering process is incredibly fast - about 2-3 minutes long and then you can go enjoy your food. All the ingredients are fresh, the place is clean and all the employees are incredibly nice and professional. I got the bowl option and picked 2 proteins - my go to's area salmon and tuna. They even sear the protein which was unexpected, but good. They have a bunch of add ons, toppings and sauces and crunches that you can choose from, so every time I came here it always felt like a brand new experience. I was pretty satisfied with my order - I shared a bowl with my sister and we both left feeling decently full, as the portion size was decently big. Decided to get 2 bowls this time and I must say, the customer service here was terrible, employees (all women this time) had a horrible attitude from the time I walked in and the manager on duty (woman), was extremely unaccommodating. Ordered an adult size bowl and kids bowl. The kids bowl comes with (included in the price): corn, edamame, oranges...they were out of the edamame and when asked if I can substitute for seaweed since they are out of it, she raises her voice at me to tell me "No, this is a kids bowl!" Like, it's not my fault you are out of an item and I still have to pay full price! It's not like I asked for more protein.. and they could've just charged extra if it was such a problem. I was really excited to try this place since its new to the neighborhood & poké is one of my favorite dishes to get on the go. After coming home i was VERY disappointed with the portion. It was $13 for 2 proteins and i barely got any of both, it does not look like any of the photos on the page and was very skimpy. My brown rice was also only like maybe half a scoop and it was very clumpy & dry. I will give 2 stars because the food did not taste bad but for $13 id rather go to a different poké spot. read more
