This tea shop has been a staple in Flushing for as long as I can remember. If you're looking for a particular type of Chinese tea, there are a few places that can compete with them in variety. Prices are reasonable to me, though I am no expert. The bubble tea portion of the shop is not my favorite. There are plenty of better options around the neighborhood. It still has all the classics and to me no other bubble tea will ever compare with their fancy gimmicks of gold flakes or burnt tops. If you like bubble tea for what it is which is milk tea with boba you'll love this place. They also sell Chinese medicinal herbs and overall this shop is known for using real tea for their bubble tea. (With the exception of taro or honeydew) The staff is mainly Cantonese so I say it's best to stick to whatever you see on the menu. My favorites are Royal milk tea if you're looking for a milk tea similar to Hong Kong milk tea which is strong and bitter but also very sweet. The place is spotless. The herbal aroma in the air is refreshing and I really appreciate how organized the store is. Their various boxed teas would make an excellent gift for any tea lover and their selection is quite extensive. This is primarily a in-and-out type of a place, but there is a small table in the back for a small group to sit down and sip. As for the cold drinks, they're good. I will freely admit that I prefer other sugary boba spots than here, but despite how limited their menu is, I'm fairly certain some tea savvy folks would prefer Ten Ren over others. I sometimes like ordering their mega 24 oz cup on a hot summer day to cool off. I'm a pretty big fan of their kumquat + lemon, as well as their strawberry green tea with some mint. Incredibly refreshing. It's hard not to appreciate their service from both the boba counter and the tea-associates. This location in particular makes great tea and has great products. The staff are great and quick. There's no exact line when ordering so it can get a little frustrating. Love this place! It's the first place that started serving bubble tea in Flushing, since the 90's! I love their basic black or green milk tea. It doesn't taste artificial or extremely sweet. The tapioca are chewy and tasty! There's an extremely great variety of drinks, both. hot and cold! They also sell Tea Ren tea, and ginseng in beautifully displayed boxes (great gift! The only complaint I have is that the plastic lid they serve the tea in is extremely large and bubble like (think like a lid served with 7-11 slurpees). I am a HUGE bubble tea fan, so I absolutely need to get one every time I come to Flushing. Yes I know this place also sells other stuff like teas and ginseng, but I only came here for the bubble tea. You might think all bubble tea should taste the same, but the real trick is on the cooking the tapioca. If it's not cooked right, they will taste hard and chewy. This place seems to have the cooking on the tapioca down. Mine was soft and delicious. The bubble teas come in different flavors. I like things simple so I had the traditional milk green tea. But you can also order other tea flavors like Oolong and Thai Tea. You can also order different flavors like in mango and passion fruit. The only think I didn't like their bubble tea is that they don't have the sealed lid for your cup, and you can easily spill your tea out of their cups. Almost all the other bubble tea places all serve your team in seal cups so you can even take it to go. And the price was not the most competitive price in Flushing. There must be over a dozen places that offers bubble team and you can definitely get them cheaper some place else. read more

With the influx of bubble tea shops in Flushing over the years, I'm glad this place is still around. It's remains to be the same kind of bubble tea shop I used to go to in high school. Because of that, they didn't ask for my sugar or ice level preference and so my drink ended up being too sweet for me at first. But personally I kind of prefer it to be too sweet than not sweet enough since I could just wait for the ice to melt and it'll be perfect, which is pretty easy on a hot day. Plus it would prevent me from inhaling my drink as soon as I got it. I got a medium mango green without toppings for $5, which is such a bargain. The mango syrup they used was really good, it was refreshing and didn't taste artificial at all. The tea flavor was also really good, the green tea flavor was strong and the slightly bitter notes at the end paired really well with the sweetness of the mango. I don't know why I was surprised by how good the tea was considering I'm a huge fan of their jasmine tea. I buy them all the time at the supermarkets. And for that price, you can't go wrong. I've always been a fan of Ten Ren Tea, all over the country. I've always found that their milk tea drinks are the perfect amount of sweetness and tea taste. As is the case with every Ten Ren I've been to, the prices are lower than other boba shops outside. Unfortunately, this Ten Ren falls short for me. I am no tapioca maker and unfamiliar with the intricate processes of tapioca artistry but I know what good tapioca taste like. You have no idea how badly I am addicted to bubble tea. Ten Ren is one of the original faves and still is and they still honor their stamp cards between all the branches, YAS. It was just last year that they increased their prices, but it's still so affordable. I used to get a regular for $2.50 and a large for $4, sometimes I would do two smalls of different flavors and trust me, I can finish it all. Ten Ren used to just have the simple bubbles and jelly, no additional cost which I love. Okinawa Milk Green Tea that was freshly made right before my eyes. Before the employee puts on the bubble tea cap, make sure you slurp the foam!!! The foam is always the best part of any drink. At first sip, the drink tasted like Green Tea Candy. When I stirred my drink a bit more, I could taste the Okinawa milk flavor(like caramel). Boba was not too hard nor chewy--just right! The vibe of the tea shop is very calming and relaxing, which made me savor my drink even more. The quality is just about on par with that of The Boba Guys, but Ten Ren offers more exotic varieties and options. Although prices are sort of expensive and drinks are smaller in size compared to other bubble tea stores around the area, but it is as other yelpers have remarked: "Quality over quantity."
