Everything we've had is always fresh, and they have a good variety of sides, toppings, sauce, and proteins, including fish, tofu, and lobster surimi. My go-to has been a salmon make your own poke bowl with a furikake mac salad, and it always hits the spot! My mom is also a fan of the Huli huli chicken plate and she said the chicken is very tender and flavorful. The service is pretty basic, you go to a bar-like area and pick out your toppings/protein. The place has this vibes that brings a good feeling to us the moment we walked in. Clean. Neat. Friendly staff. I have always ordered a ready bowl as I believe they have given a lot of thought about each meal on the board. I trust them that all ingredients in the bowl I picked complement each other. I seriously have an issue with this place. I used my ClassPass to order a Hawaiian poke bowl. all of the ingredients are listed. They are very strict and will only give you what is listed exactly on the ClassPass. If you were in there ordering a bowl without ClassPass, you could add all kinds of stuff without an extra charge. I understand that it's ClassPass and they want to be very strict with just the listed ingredients. However, on the ingredients listed it says that you're supposed to get seasonal crunch. I enjoy crunchy stuff in my Poké bowl. The guy refused to give it to me after I pointed it out. he said it it only comes with sesame seeds. I showed him the list of ingredients on the ClassPass. Clearly there were sesame seeds and then after that, it stated "seasonal crunch." I think it's a pretty crappy policy that you can't get what everybody else gets when they order a Poké bowl. They give a fair amount of ordered food when you order a bowl of poke. The food is delicious, flavorful, has a vibrant taste of the mixed ingredients and sauce. Prices are a tad higher than expected. I like that they incorporate fish like salmon or tuna in their poke bowl which is healthy. They also offer vegan option which is a plus for me. Their house made sauces are incredible, examples are the Pokeworks classic, Umami shoyu and Sriracha aioli. My boss was ordering from here for the team for lunch so I had to choose something. I was a little nervous as I've never had any Poke before; but relieved when I saw there were cooked items as well. I ordered the Charred Terriyaki Salmon Plate. I'm really particular about my fish not tasting too fishy. I really like the flavor of the salmon. It has a almost grilled kind of flavor to it along with the teriyaki sauce, which was just a hint of sauce, but not drowning the fish. It was great combination with the white rice, The salad and the avocado. There was a small portion of a macaroni salad as well, which had a nice flavor. This spot is right next to my gym so I had always been enticed by it and finally popped in. I don't LOVE poke and was expecting this place to be a one and done but I was truly blown away. For one, I have never seen a poke place offering torched poke, which was an absolute game changer. The torched salmon was excellent. I regret getting lobster surimi as my second protein because I could've just gotten the free surimi later down the line and should have gotten tuna. Anyway, the brown rice was so nicely cooked. What really surprised me pleasantly were the sauces, which weren't ones I was so used to for poke. Ultimately went with ponzu soy (my go-to) and a Himalayan salt mix that included chili peppers. The rest of the toppings were pretty standard. The freshness of everything was really welcomed and it was absolutely the best poke I've ever had. It's pricy but poke always is (the 2 topping with tax probably around $17). The place is a production line with like 8 employees (though a little bit stalled/slow for whatever reason). I walked in totally expecting to order a noodle substitute for the rice (some places have kale noodles, etc.) but the only option here was ramen noodles which I wasn't interested in. I visited the Pokeworks Fresh Meadows location (61-24 190th St) around 5:30 PM and had an extremely uncomfortable experience with the supervisor, Alex (or Alexandria), and her team. From the moment I walked in, Alex gave me a cold, hostile stare. I politely asked if the Huli Huli chicken could be torched--even though it's not standard--and she immediately cut me off with attitude, saying in a power-tripping tone, "I'm not going to authorize that." It was unnecessary and dismissive. I let it go and switched to shrimp--which is supposed to be torched--and asked that it be done before the sauce. She made an issue out of that too. One employee (Asian girl, name unknown) walked away mid-order saying, "I'm not going to deal with this," even though I remained calm and respectful the whole time. Alex then told the staff not to finish my order. I stood there ignored while my shrimp sat on the counter untouched. When I asked for Alex's name, she ignored me and tried to give a fake one until I saw her name tag. Finally, she told Bri (BRI) to finish the bowl. Bri wasn't directly rude but acted petty--burning the shrimp to a crisp, dumping excess crunch, and charging extra for green onions, which has never happened before. I paid and left with a meal I didn't enjoy and a really bad feeling. This isn't the first time Alex has acted like this--she's consistently rude and seems to enjoy using her role to be difficult. Meanwhile, the male supervisor, Steve, has always been professional and respectful. The team acted like a clique, backing each other while treating a polite customer like a problem. Pokeworks is a solid chain of reliable poke bowls. I'm glad that one has opened up within UberEats distance (for a lack of better terms) from my workplace. The prices are affordable and the quality of the poke is great. Do be wary of how spicy the wasabi is, yes it's wasabi but be careful to mix it all in vs taking a bite and having it be all wasabi. I have yet to try the torched poke (not sure how the texture would taste) but I will eventually. A decent amount of poke is given as well and I'll continue to try their bowls. read more

I ordered a two protein bowl (salmon & ahi) over salad greens. My go to sauce is usually a wasabi Mayo but they don't have that so I chose their house sauce. I added crab (imitation) & edamame. I also added tobiko which is an additional cost. Overall, the bowl was just ok. The ahi was previously frozen & thawed, which you can tell from the texture. It's NYC so it's difficult to get fresh ahi. Salmon was alright, not outstanding. I love haupia & ordered their mango haupia dessert.
