Build Your Own Bowl: Salmon, eel, cucumber, mango, kani, edamame, shredded nori, spicy mayo
    Lauren P.

Literally my favorite poke place ever! Been coming here since high school and it'll always be my favorite. Not many places have eel, so I always get it when I come here. Their portions are pretty generous too and the presentation is beautiful. This place is great for people with social anxiety-- you fill out a paper form with all the options in front of you and you don't have to worry about remembering everything you want when you tell the cashier. There are only a few tables and seats inside, plus some seats along the window where my friend and I sat. Parking is difficult on Austin though, so either hope for parking on the side streets or just take the train (M/R).

Kissfish is my go-to place when I'm in the mood for a poke bowl ($13.95). You just fill out a paper form with all the options, so you can mix and match as you please. I usually choose salmon, tuna, or eel as my protein. And out of all the poke places I've tried, they have to best tasting yuzu ponzu sauce.

Pretty good poké with plenty of toppings and is not overloaded with rice. The place is tiny with only a few seats. The imitation crab (kani salad) is in large pieces instead of fully shredded but the flavor is there.

This is just a small little place for takeout as there isn't rlly any seating, and not rlly somewhere you'd sit and eat anyways. Usually, people just grab and go, but don't judge by the size of this place. Their poke bowls are absolutely amazing! Love love love! Highly recommend stopping by!

Last week I decided to try the new poke place on Austin street instead of going to kissfish. It's been awhile since I had a poke bowl and I was wanted to see if it was worth it, and it wasn't. So this week I had to get kissfish to get the bad bowl taste out of my mouth. I am so glad I did. This was probably the best bowl I've ever had. Everything was super fresh and my bowl was overflowing. It was amazing

Kissfish is a pretty solid place for poke in the area and a reasonable price as well. I believe it is predominantly a delivery food place VS. a sit-in. The only qualm I have is I wish that the spicy salmon and spicy tuna was less mushy. Yes it should be chopped up but no reason for it to be mushy and since fish is the main part of a poke bowl I gave Kissfish 3 stars.

Sushi wrap with slimy salmon that's old.

I came years ago a few times and it was good..it's not good now not at all..I got a sushi wrap and it was disgusting. I eat raw fish a lot and something tasted so off I decided to undo the wrap and I wish I hadn't. The salmon was old it was slimy and it smelled like it had been in and out of a fridge I can't explain the smell but they are obviously not using fresh fish. It's really concerning that they would serve slimy fish thats old .I had to throw it out there was no way I was going to risk food poisoning. The other ingredients also tasted like dirty fridge I definitely will not be returning.

I think overall, this is a really good poke place. Easily in my top favorites. Considering the neighborhood it is in, I would say this is one of the best places to eat. I got the Build Your Own Bowl with Salmon and Tuna. I feel like the rice is a good portion compared to the other ingredients, so there isn't a an abundance of one ingredient. The only thing I would say is, I wish they had different bowl size because this place is so good, I could definitely go for a large. To order: when you go in, just grab a slip of paper and start filling out what you'd like to order. I think this is really smart and efficient because you see all the ingredients in front of you and there will not be any misunderstandings and any mis-ordering. Overall, great poke place. Definitely check it out.

What a great tiny place for take out or a quick lunch/dinner in! This is the second time I have been here! The fish is fresh, and the portions are generous, especially as a lunch! They are quick to build your bowl! I'll be back.

MUST HAVE in Forest Hills!!! Genuinely the best poke I've ever had, every time I go it's exactly the same high quality. Super fresh and tasty, and great price! I also love how nicely they arrange the poke lol. When you go in person you use a paper menu and pencil to select what you want in the bowl so it's low pressure :)

On the other hand, their unagi fried rice was flavorful, their nigiri and rolls had an amazing fish:rice ratio, and their fried scallops were delicious. Overall, unbeatable deal and solid quality sushi. Would definitely come back!

In reality, they don't serve high quality sushi omakase or anything fancy. However, they do serve some of the best sushi rolls in the area. Always fresh and many crazy concoctions that will satisfy almost any taste buds. I have been coming here ever since moving into the neighborhood. The servers have always been kind and helpful. The restaurant is very small and really focus mostly on takeout or delivery. On the last visit, I really like the Mini Scallop Roll and Spicy Tuna Crunchy Roll. Munchy Roll was just okay. White Tuna Sashimi was too cold and icy, while the White Tuna Nigiri was somewhat better. However, truth be told, just come for the fun and interesting sushi rolls and forget about the nigiri or sashimi.

As…read moresomeone with a severe gluten allergy, I was really excited to try out this place because I saw a lot of reviews online praising for the way the staff members handle food allergies. I went in right around opening time (noon) on the weekend - the outside is a bit unassuming and partially covered by awning but the inside was brightly lit and the lady at the register (I wish I asked for her name) was incredibly warm and welcoming. She was super enthusiastic about helping me identify which rolls would be safe for me to have. They also have a grab-and-go section where certain popular rolls and sides have already been prepped, but as long as you're willing to wait, the chefs are more than happy to make a fresh batch of a specific roll, even if there are already packed portions of the same exact roll in the grab-and-go section. I thought this was a really thoughtful approach to appeasing all customers. I ended up going with a Philadelphia roll and a Mango Tango specialty roll, which contained a combination of salmon and tuna, mango, avocado, and cucumbers. The ingredients were very fresh and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Without even asking, I was given gluten-free tamari sauce instead of normal soy sauce. The combination of the restaurant's extensive menu and how kind the staff were made this a really wonderful experience - I was very satisfied with my order and definitely see myself coming back again and again whenever I have a sushi craving. The only downside is that this is really more so a grab-and-go spot in general, as there were only two small tables in the entire store. As a heads up, they also prefer to take cash instead of card.
