Got some poke bowl goodness from here - Salmon Bowl, Rainbow Bowl, Pan Fried Gyoza, and Spicy Tuna Nachos. Food was ready on time for pick up. Looked up places on Yelp that had Poke bowls and found this place. Looks clean, service was fast and friendly. Would come back again.
Sukiya is a local poke spot that also serves ramen. It has a quiet and cozy storefront near Northern Blvd. When I arrived on a Friday night, there were no diners present but an abundance of pickup orders. We ordered the salmon poke bowl, spicy combo poke bowl with double protein, and the spicy tuna nachos. Everything took a bit long to prepare due to all the takeout orders but it was well worth the wait. The salmon bowl had good flavors and the ingredients mixed very together well. It looked like a small portion but I couldn't even finish it towards the end. The spicy combo bowl was even better and more flavorful in my opinion. It had whole chunks of salmon, which I didn't expect for a spicy bowl. The tuna was minced but it was very delicious. The extra protein was well worth it in this case. Lastly the spicy tuna nachos were also great. I was a bit disappointed by the amount of nachos for the price but it was well portioned for the amount of spicy tuna. The nachos were freshly fried and crispy. Overall, Sukiya was a hit and I would definitely come whenever I'm craving a poke bowl. I would love to try their ramens at one point too.
Seen and pasted by many times and been wanting to try it forever. I had made one attempt couple of months ago but the place was small and was a bit full at the time. I am glad this time around we were able to get in and seated. So you find a seat and go to the front to place your order. The service was friendly, however it will take a bit longer. The Gyoza was nicely pan fried and not overly cooked. They were good. I really enjoyed the pork belly buns, the pork was super tender and very flavorful. For sure I would recommend. We all really enjoyed the ramen they had to offer. The broth for all was not overly salty which a lot a places are. The char sui was tender and tasted very good. Too bad they don't have the jammy egg. The poke was very fresh and was told to be very good as well. I think this is a nice little place and would for sure be back again.
To be honest when I saw this spot I mistakenly almost written them off figuring they are trying to ride on the Ramen and Poke trends in recent years that they wouldn't be able to do either of them well. I am happy to say I was wrong and have found myself coming here more often when the mood for poke strikes. That's not to say they don't do a decent bowl of ramen - they do, but usually poke and the apps are my first choice when coming here. You can build your own poke with all the different choices, but I like their preconfigured signature bowls where I choose the Rainbow Bowl. The freshly made bowls come out nicely arranged and at a perfect temperature - I usually find the ones from many other poke spots too warm which I blame on their chafing tray with sneeze guard setups - too open air for me. I like the way they make the magic happen behind the scenes here. I usually want to get more than one app because everything is so good, but I find the Tuna Nachos and the Crab Meat salad the items I keep coming back to. The drinks are uninspiring - mostly canned soda, but they have a get your own filtered water setup if you dine in, which I usually do. The space is small, but nicely decorated - I enjoy the way the dishes I presented. The setup is the great mix between fast/casual dining. The place seems family run - they are friendly and inviting. My only real knock are the strange weekend hours currently opening at 3pm. So many times I wanted to go there for lunch, but they were not open - seems like they are leaving money on the table opening so late.
I was excited that a new place opened up so close to where I live! My friend and I got takeout from here a few weeks back. We both got the poke bowls which were surprisingly really good! We both made our own. I had the spicy salmon and salmon in mine but couldn't really differentiate between them. They might use spicy mayo to marinate the salmon, but I got the spicy mayo as my sauce choice. Will just stick with regular salmon only next time Will be back to try out the ramen and maybe some of their appetizers!
Their Tuna is very soft so I really like their Tuna dishes. Besides that, the pork bao is very good. They are on Uber eats and they do promotions!
This ramen spot is not bad for the area! It's very homey in this restaurant, with simple decor and fast service. It seems like a family runs this restaurant. There are a lot of different food options, from poke to ramen to teriyaki bowls. I got the tonkotsu, which was very creamy. My boyfriend got the spicy shoyu, which was very flavorful but not very spicy at all. We thought both soups were good, but we thought combining the creaminess and the flavor might be even better, so we'll try the spicy tonkotsu next time. There is street parking outside that's metered, although you might be able to get parking around the corner as well.
First time here and at a glance this place seemed to be on the healthier angle when I browsed quick online with the salads and bowls. But after eating it I realized it was more on the Chinese fast food side. Tasted very similar with the sauce they used and the rice was just white rice you get typically. It tasted pretty good but the main reason I went here was for the healthy bowl. Can't complain though because there was a decent portion of food and flavor. But wouldn't probably come again.
If you have not tried this place, you are missing out. The bowls here are tasty, fresh and the portions are hefty. They also offer rice bowls and ramen. They have a few tables so you can eat in or take out. I tried both options and have to say both are good. When dining in, they serve the bowls in large ramen bowls and it's always filled to the rim. The take out bowls are also filled to the rim. Don't waste you time with Poke Works, come here instead.
Just a short walking distance from my house, I stumbled upon a little ramen and poke spot tucked into the neighborhood. From the outside, it looked unassuming, but I was curious enough to step inside. The place is run by a nice, friendly Asian owner who immediately gave off a warm, welcoming energy. He greeted me with a smile and made me feel comfortable right away, which set the tone for the visit. The menu features seven types of ramen, covering the main classics you'd expect to find in Japan--everything from miso to shoyu, vegetarian, tonkotsu, and more. It's the kind of menu that isn't overwhelming but still offers a variety of flavors for different preferences. They have rice bowls, to self built poke-bowl, I usually go for miso ramen, so I stuck with what I know and added beef as my protein choice. When the bowl arrived, the presentation was neat and appetizing. The broth had a nice golden-brown color, with noodles sitting just beneath the surface, slices of beef layered on top, and half an egg resting alongside. The aroma was rich yet not overpowering. The first sip of the broth instantly impressed me--it wasn't overly salty or heavy, but instead had a clean, well-balanced flavor that still carried depth. One thing I appreciated was that it didn't leave that dry, salty aftertaste that makes you guzzle water afterward. It was flavorful enough that I actually drank the broth down almost entirely, which I rarely do. The beef was tender and worth the extra $1 upgrade--it added more substance to the bowl and paired nicely with the miso broth. The only part that caught me off guard was the "extra egg." I paid an additional $1 for it, but instead of getting another whole egg, I simply received the other half of the one that was already included. It made me laugh a little when I realized, and although I felt slightly embarrassed asking, I let it go. It wasn't a big deal, more of a funny moment than anything else. As for the taste overall, I'd say the miso ramen leans toward the lighter side. To some people, it might come across as a bit mild compared to richer, heavier ramen you'd get at big-name shops, but for me, it was refreshing and enjoyable. I could see myself craving it on days when I want something flavorful but not overly rich. What really stood out during the visit was the service. The owner came out a couple of times to check on me, asking how I was enjoying the ramen. He even suggested I try the tonkotsu ramen next time, which he described as creamier and more full-bodied if I wanted something richer. I appreciated his attentiveness--not just toward me, but toward all the other guests as well. He moved around the restaurant, making sure everyone was comfortable, and you could tell he genuinely cared about their experience. That kind of interaction adds a personal touch that makes small neighborhood spots like this so special. The restaurant itself has a cozy, casual vibe. It's not flashy or overly decorated, but it has a clean and simple setup that makes you feel at ease. It feels like the kind of place you could easily make a regular stop, whether you're grabbing a quick lunch, a solo dinner, or even bringing a friend for a casual meal. All in all, I had a really good experience. The food was satisfying, the atmosphere was laid-back, and the owner's hospitality made it even better. Even with the little egg mishap, I left happy and already planning my next visit. Next time, I'll definitely be trying the tonkotsu ramen, and maybe even exploring the poke options too. I absolutely love Sukiya. It's my go-to comfort spot! $14 for the amount of fish and toppings is amazing compared to other poke spots and its one of the best bowls I've ever had. The service is amazing too and they're so kind. I usually order to-go but it's also a great location. read more

4.5 stars. I've been to Sukiya once for dine-in and twice for take-out, and I think it's a great addition to the neighborhood. It's a very small restaurant with a few tables. I wish they had music playing or something, but otherwise it's pretty silent aside from the sounds in the kitchen. For my dine-in, I decided to try their Tonkatsu ramen. The pork was tender and yummy, and the broth was decent, but definitely missing a lot of depth to it. I have gotten poke twice for take-out, and am happy to announce that this is my new go-to poke! They do not shy out on any of their fresh ingredients, and the seasonings and sauces go great with everything. My only recommendation is that they cut their cucumber slices into smaller pieces. I am happy to support this local business with continuous future orders of their poke bowls! And maybe will try their ramen again another day. read more

Before Suyika opened a few blocks away from my apartment, the closest spot to grab poke would be a 15-minute drive to Fresh Meadows. I'm so glad they've made it more accessible for us to get our fix! I normally order online ahead of time for pickup on days when we want a quick, easy dinner. The woman behind the counter is always so polite, prices are reasonable amidst NY inflation, the fish is fresh, and portions are quite large! What more could you ask for? They don't charge for extra toppings, only for extra protein, and the taste is consistently satisfying. I definitely recommend either their creamy sesame or ponzu sauce, if you're undecided. I happily support this small neighborhood business when I can, and hope they can stick around forever! read more

Discovered this place and I am so glad that I did The build your own poke bowls were soooo filling and tasted great, they allow you to have so many add ons as well without the extra charge that many places would charge for. Everything was priced on the cheaper end which made it even better, the owners are also super nice, they kept checking in to make sure everything was okay! This place is a hidden gem! read more

Obsessed with the poke bowls here! Generous portions, excellent flavors, and so fresh! Spicy Combo Poke is our weekly order! Their pork bun is a bigger portion than other places and the pork is always tender. Finally remembered to snap a pic before devouring the food read more
