I got the Large poke bowl ... should gave gotten small lol but apparently my eyes were bigger than my stomach so my mom and I shared and we were both pleased with our choice of sushi ... mixins and toppings .... Found on yelp , portions looked hefty and protein selections were also a point that caught my eye, i tried it for lunch , lived up to the pic hype , portions were generous and protein selections were great sauces were also good i went with spicy , avocado and crab salad were a side but not sure if they charge extra for avocado like the rest of the spots which could be a huge plus ,being that i always get an extra scoop of fish , ill have to pay attention next time. Overall experience was great except for the guy infront of me holding up the line with all his family which clearly had never been to a poke spot and yet here is the guy which is an expert explaining everything on my lunch hour, that was the only back draw but does not reflect the customer service here which was also great. My second visit to Poke Xpress. I came back to try the Poke (tried a Taro Milk tea the other day) and I found it pretty good. I was alone today so I didn't have the luxury of checking with my peeps for their opinions to see if they match mine. But the fish was fresh-tasting - the toppings also nice and fresh, chopped mango also available which I like. Some other Poke places I've tried were good on the first visit, but they weren't consistent w/freshness and so they ended on my "no-good" list. This is only my first time here for Poke, but I plan to come back. Came here around 6:30 on a Friday evening and there were only 2 customers. The girl who helped me was nice and I like that you can choose noodle, sushi rice, veggies, brown rice or half and half. It's a pretty spacious place and pretty similar to other Poke places. They have Boba drinks, sushi rolls, and musubi too. I got the half noodle and half brown rice. Ahi Tuna, Spicy Tuna and salmon. I love seaweed salad topping so I had to get that and I got the sesame shoyu sauce. The sauce like most places can be overpowering. I would suggest ask for a light drizzle of the sauce if you're like me who don't like to eat stuff with too much sauce. The fish wasn't fresh and all three taste kinda fishy. The portions was also less than other places. Overall it's okay. Some things I liked and some I don't. The protein are the star of the bowl so if you don't have good fresh quality fish, it's disappointing. read more

I tried a new poke bar every day for a week along the 880 corridor and Poke Xpress is up there and I would rank 2 out of 5. This is located in a nondescript mall not too far off the exit. Super nice people, looks like a family run business. They have a noodle base as an option which is good beside the usual rice or salad. Two big reasons why I love this place: 1. It's super close to where I live, which allows me to do a quick pick-up on the way home. 2. The pricing and toppings is straightforward. You pay either regular or large, and then everything else is just a matter of whether you want it or not. Ok, extra extra toppings of avocados is additional $ (I think), but that's expected. Ordered for the first time. More like I doordashed it. I am on a keto diet as of a whole week now and really wanted sushi. My gripe is I can't do all the rice (sad day), but to my surprise there wasn't a lot of rice on the rolls! I ordered basic rainbow roll, philly roll, and tuna and avocado roll. They all similarly have the freshest protein possible, a variety of toppings, interesting sauce options, and great service. But what sets Poke Xpress apart is how generous they are here. For one thing, they don't charge for avocado! If you're super hungry, you can use that two bucks saved on avocado and get a large bowl. =) I've also taken advantage of a couple of their promotions offered through Fivestars. On my first visit, I was given a complementary miso soup, which is a nice touch for first time customers. On a subsequent visit, I redeemed a 20% off coupon they emailed me. I ended up getting a large bowl for about the price of a regular. Yay! Even without any freebies or promotions, you still get a lot for what you pay here. The owners are sweet and accommodating and they offer stamp cards for repeating customers! They are really great with the portions and the flavors are really well balanced! There is a great selection of proteins and toppings to choose from as well. Probably the best poke I've had in a while as well. Their selection is different and fresh from other poke places that have opened it up, has a Korean flavor almost~ delicious and well worth the price. Also great for health conscious decisions! Ah, I really want to give this place a better rating but the food was very average and the portions were skimpy. Yes, they give you free black tea and miso soup and there are nice selection of affordable sushi rolls but I'm here mainly for the poke bowl. I ordered a regular size half rice, half salad bowl which came with 3 scoops of fishes. When I realized how small and skimpy they were scooping the protein and I wanted to add a fourth scoop but the guy behind the counter kept hesitating so I didn't ask again. I got the house spicy sauce and spicy miso and wasabi mayo on the side. I really like their house spicy sauce, it was flavorful and had a nice kick to it. I've also ordered a spicy tuna and California roll to share with my BFF. For two bowls, two rolls the total was only $34 (tip included). Which IMO is super affordable in comparison to the other poke places. Plus you get free miso and black tea but again, the poke bowl itself was skimpy. read more

Wow, I would come here all the time if I lived anywhere close! I'm in the San Jose area for the day and I wanted a bubble tea place that also offers food. When I saw something called Poke express exists that combines my two true loves- poke and bubble tea (boyfriend took offense to this), I had to come here! And I'm so glad I did!! Excellent poke! The inside is bright, colorful, and welcoming. They have a 7-8 tables and a bar near the window. This place is mainly all poke with basic tea offerings. I tried their black milk tea and it was good. They didn't have regular boba and I wasn't feeling popping or honey boba. Tip- their regular sugar and ice amounts are 50% of usual so you may not need to reduce sugar for your order. I was a little surprised that a basic milk tea was $4.. more expensive than places nearby. But that's ok, because I'm getting to the poke! Poke here is excellent. For $10.50 you get 3 scoops (regular size). My creation had the following- half and half mixed greens and sushi rice, 2 scoops of spicy salmon, one scoop of salmon poke (they make it fresh and ask you which ingredients you want in the marinade!!), edamame, green onions, mango, avocado, and the best part- dry toppings! They have a huge variety but I picked dried seaweed strips, what looked like furikake seasoning and a japenese chili powder that really made my bowl. They give you LARGE amounts of fish here. I have poke elsewhere where the bowl looks huge and I can never eat all the rice anyway. Here their fish to base ratio is amazing. I'm about to run of out base and still have fish left!! Also, the first scoop of any topping is included in the 10.50. So technically you could try all their toppings if you want (and the selection is large). I like that they don't charge extra for avocado or other premium items. The girl behind the counter is also super sweet and said I could get however many sauces I wanted! I'm rarely in the Milpitas area but I was passing by and ordered takeout from here through Yelp. I got there about ten minutes after placing the order, and they had it bagged up all nicely for me. The poke bowl was really good. I had salmon, spicy tilapia, and shrimp for my proteins with a brown rice base. Everything was well sauced, and they didn't make it ridiculously spicy for my mild option as other places have done. They also serve milk tea, which I will try the next time I come back! I must also say: this was one of the friendliest encounters I've had with anyone working in customer service anywhere. The lady and young man greeted me with smiles when I walked in and explained to me their order-by-phone process. Me and my girlfriend came here on our date night & were surprised by the freshness of the poké & the delightful employees. We both ordered a regular bowl, received free miso soup, and even after we finished eating our meal (in which they had checked in and asked us if we were done in a very non-bothersome way) brought us a small complimentary scoop of green tea ice cream NOT TO MENTION they give FREE scoops of avocado with your poké!!
