I've been to most of their locations and I find this one has the best food. The poké is fresh and has the right amount of seasoning. I ordered the Limu and spicy mayo, I don't usually order the spicy mail but here the mayonnaise doesn't drown out the flavor of the Poké. There are other options are also really good. So happy to have poke located in Wesyyyyde where I grew up and my mom lives! I tried their poke at another Long Beach location but this one is closer to home. The staff are super friendly and extend an ohana spirit! They speak Tagalog too! The location is hard to find because the banner doesn't jump out but it's east of Big Saver. Plenty of parking and decorated with Hawaiian charm. My favorite poke is the limu. I love the flavor but the fresh pieces vary from good to a couple of chewy poorer quality ones. But I still like it! We also tried the lau lau--definite win! I look forward to returning to get my Hawaiian food fix! They serve up a traditional Hawaiian breakfast too, which I look forward to trying soon. read more

I'm not really sure how this place is so highly rated. First off it's not even called poke etc, the sign says poke plus... ALSO there's no rating ( which is scary for a raw fish restaurant ) they offered us samples of the 2 flavors of poke they had out We sampled sweet and spicy which was 80% sauce with a gross piece of semi defrosted ahi. All the other flavors were the same, sauce sauce gross piece of fish. Not even marinated like authentic ahi Hawaiian style poke. I lived in Hawaii for 10 Years, this place comes nowhere close to being authentic. Sorry maybe their other dishes are better not sure. We left after trying the samples. read more

I used to get their poke bowls, which are super tasty, but recently I switched to their fish katsu and it opened up a whole new world (queue Aladdin theme song). It's got such tender juicy fish meat gently enrobed inside light cripy batter fried to perfection. All that is highlighted by sweet and savory katsu sauce drizzle and accompanied by refreshing cabbage silvers. Place is a cute little mom and pop shop run by cute couple who take the order and make the food. Their create your own bowl is pretty good with two choices of poke, which comes with rice (and seaweed salad if you wish). Aloha plate is also on-point. Their breakfast menu items also hit the spot quite well with classic food like loco moco, which is always drenched and dripping with delicious gravy, just the way I like. I also frequently get sweet longanisa, which goes really well with eggs over easy. I take a bite of those with rice and chomp on a bit of seaweed salad from the poke bowl I order, and it starts a heavenly party in my mouth. I am drooling just writing this review. I eat their food all the time and never get tired of them. Only catch is that you usually want to order around 5:30 or earlier if you want to make sure they don't run out of their hot food for the night. It happens sometimes. The place has ample parking, although they always seem to be busy with orders ahead of me and people coming in after me. I'd recommend this place to all my friends. This place has a little bit of everything, Hawaiian food, Filipino food, and even some Samoan dishes on the menu. Lot of people go for the poke, which is great too. We've tried the kalua pork, loco moco, Portugese sausage, longanisa, tocino. All were pretty good. The loco moco wasn't bad, but not great. Best of all are the prices, which are pretty cheap. I love this place! Very welcoming and homey style. Serve great portions for a great price. Drove all the way out from irvine in traffic just to come here because it was so delicious the first time. I've been going here for a while because of the food. The cook in the back seems like a cool guy, however, the lady in the front has bit of an attitude. I had an incident where I made a phone order for 2 plates, and I got there with only one. I reacted a bit because I was in a time restrain, but I was still polite with my words. She ended up getting the 2nd plate after 5 mins, but I noticed the meat portion was much less compared to my first plate, and just used rice as a filler. As she handed my plate, I asked for extra condiments saying please and thank you. She just stared at me like if I was stupid. Besides that one experience, it's an OK place to go. read more

Their website says 5.95 for veggie and tofu curry with rice, so why was I charged 7.95? When I think of veggies, I expect something more than peas and corn that looked like it came out of a can. Secondly, the food was not great at all, I asked for extra sauce and the woman was asking me why do I need sauce for a curry dish. I was thinking....because I said so and because I am paying. But I didn't go back and forth with her about it, I just said, ok give me some hot sauce. Well, there was no hot sauce added and the food was as dry as can be, threw it out. PROS: plenty of parking, significant selection of flavors, very fresh ingredients, staff is friendly, they provide you with samples and it's one of the closest things to reminding me of living back in hawaii. CONS: the rice seems to be hit or miss i have been here twice - once for dine in and once for take out and both experiences have been nothing short of amazing! i have only had the poke and cannot comment on the hawaiian food menu items but i am hopeful that if they can do poke as well as they do, that their hawaiian food should be just as delicious. would definitely recommend coming here to get your poke fix, but head home and make your own rice because i would hate for that to ruin your experience! the poke is sold in various size containers by weight - 1/2lb and 1lb, they even have a tiny container (for those flavors that you might just want a few bites of!). so far, here's what i have tried - *mac salad - i have absolutely no idea why i think it is as good as it is but i LOVE it and on both occasions have bought extra to go. *sweet and spicy salmon - definitely lives up to it's name. as someone who isn't a fan of sweet fish, i wasn't overly sold on it but my mom loved it and has come back to order on a few (several) occasions. *mayo spicy ahi tuna - i love spicy tuna, so this was a no-brainer and i have also re-purchased this item. the tuna is in very nice size chunks and always tastes fresh. *spicy garlic ahi tuna - defintely spicy, defintely garlicky. only ordered a tiny container of it but would happily return for a larger portion. read more

A great find in LB after finishing up a tiring morning of cleaning the LA River! I came here on the search of Yelp while looking for a good lunch spot that was yummy and fresh. Poke seemed like a good option and this place was a great find. It's located in a small strip mall with some parking so that's nice. The ambiance isn't 5 stars but more of a casual place. It totally makes up for everything else with the food! I first thought it'd only be poke but they also had classic Hawaiian dishes too! I ordered the Ohana platter which comes with a chicken dish, rice, kalua pork, and a choice of Poke. What was really nice is they let you try the different Poke. I really like the Sesame Ginger one. Poke Etc, is the westside local poke spot. Everytime I go here, it's never busy. Maybe only one customer ahead of me. They have a nice selection of poke to choice from. My favorite is the Mayo Spicy poke. I love how they put furikake on the rice. Furikake is rice seasoning made out seaweed. It's a small shop with a couple of tables to sit at. You can't bet their breakfast the Hawaiian Breakfast for under $5 portuguese sausage or spam with rice and eggs or my other favorite the Sweet Longanisa with rice and eggs for under $5. The third Poke Etc. we've been to, and it is the nearest one to our place. It's a bit smaller than the one near Ralphs but customer service was great. We ordered the spicy mayo and oyster sauce on salmon and it tastes the same as the other Poke Etc. Good thing about this place is that they offer more fish, rather than just giving a shit load of brown rice. They also ask you if you want to try some samples, Limu is a great flavor but I just don't like it on tuna. Overall, same as the other joints but they give larger cut of cubes of fish.
