Went in on a weekday afternoon and for it to be around lunchtime, the line moved quickly and the employees were very helpful. I ended up with spicy tuna and salmon paired with brown rice, cucumber, ginger, seaweed salad, and ponzu and spicy mayo. Everything tasted very fresh and I really liked how they didn't just pile everything on top like some poke spots do. I got the smallest bowl on the menu and my two meats were octopus & shrimp. I made a mistake by adding cilantro to my bowl. It offsets the Asian flavor that I was going for. It is quite cold in here. The food itself was pretty good overall. I enjoyed the sauces, House & Sweet Spicy. The service was great and the jazz music makes this a really nice place for a quick and calming lunch. The space itself is not that big, but I don't think a lot of people sit in here and eat too often. I would recommend this place to eat for lunch. I didn't pay attention to other proteins since I don't eat Raw! Yes, you got it! I chose shrimp, octopus, and more of both on white rice. Then, you can choose unlimited toppings. Today was my first time ever trying Poke, and I loved it! I got the large bowl with half rice and half kale noodles. For my proteins I got salmon, albacore, and double spicy tuna. I got almost all of the mix ins consisting of endame, corn, jalapeños, onions, pineapple and spring onion. They mixed it all together with sweet chili sauce. This cozy restaurant is very bright with all the windows, due to it being a corner shop. Ordering was simple enough, you pick your bulk, and then the protein. I opted for salmon and tuna. You get an unlimited selection of veggies. Afterwards, you get to a more "premium" selection with the crab meat and the misago. And then you get the actual premium items such as mangoes or avocados for an extra dollar per item. Afterwards, you can get your toppings. It wasn't too busy when we were there - we were the only ones there. Service was fast and friendly. Food tasted standard which means it taste good. I don't see any differences between any other poke places. With so many locations, I wonder how stiff the competition is here in K-town with so many types of places to eat. read more

The food here was good and tasted fresh. They had less options for toppings than my normal poke spot so it wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. I tried the kale noodles which were pretty good. They didn't have a strong flavor so they took on the taste of the other ingredients without overpowering the meal. I went for the mix of rice and spring mix on the recommendation of the employee. Next time I think I would go with all rice, it definitely mixed better with the spicy tuna. Next, you choose veggie toppings ranging from edamame, green onions, corn, jalapeño and more! You get unlimited options here and I added all but jalapeño. Then you get to the sauce step. I tried their house mixed with spicy mayo and YAAAAS it was a perfect combo, recommended by my lovely server. They mix it with your protein and toppings, except for the spicy tuna, which they just scooped in and put sauce on top. After that, there are still more choices to be made! Pleasant Hill is crowded practically all day long, so I expected some lunch time congestion. Environment: I was greeted as soon as I walked in. There were between 5-7 people eating when I arrived. Everything seemed clean & orderly and I didn't have to wait to begin my to-go order (perfect!!) All 3 employees I interacted with were friendly and welcoming. Food: Overall good, tasty lunch and healthy. I ordered a small bowl with white rice base, which comes with 2 proteins (shrimp & octopus), sauce (ponzu), mix-ins (everything except edamame), sides (seaweed salad & imitation crab), topping (ginger). DELICIOUS!! I also had the miso soup, standard miso and tasty. All for the price of $11.61. The food was worth the money and even though I barely ate all day, I could only eat the soup and half of my bowl before feeling full. They have limit labels all in front of you so you know exactly what you're getting into when choosing toppings. This leads to a fairly efficient service line. Everything appeared fresh and good quality. There wasn't a wilted leaf in sight. The shallow bowl made it hard to mix the poke, and the to go lid was very difficult to fit on top of it. It was my first time trying Poke Bar since they've opened in Georgia and this one's closest to me. Located off Pleasanthill Rd two stores down from Einstein Bagel Bros. in the same shopping center as Starbucks and Bed, Bath and Beyond. It's pretty small, about 6-8 tables but it wasn't crowded when my friends and I went in around 7:30pm on a Sunday. The concept reminds me of Chipotle, where you get to customize your own bowl by picking your proteins, veggies, and sauces. Pricing starts at $8.95 and increases depending on the size of bowl you get. There's a S, M, and L size bowl - one protein for S, two for M, and three for L. You get to choose between white or brown rice, salad, and nachos or you can do a half/half as your base. The protein includes: tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp, albacore, tofu, octopus, and scallop. Your choices of veggies and sauces are unlimited! The veggies includes: green peppers, cucumbers, onions, edamame, and cilantro to name a few and their sauces are all homemade! (decided on their house, spicy mayo and sesame oil) Check out a listing of them in the picture! Then, you get to choose two sides (I got their seaweed and crab salad - there's an extra charge for more than two) and any of the three toppings - masago, wasabi and ginger. Once you've chosen all your toppings, your veggies and depending on which proteins you chose, get mixed and placed in your container. There are additional free toppings offered when you get to the register to pay. Although the service was very nice and the establishment was kept very clean, three stars because the flavors in my bowl wasn't anything spectacular. The larger the size, the more varieties that you get. I want to try the drinks that you guys have. This use to be one of my favorite go to for poke. After corona it has changed. The staff doesn't wear any masks to protect customers or themselves when prepping the food. This Poke bar is good, but not as good as Sweet Ahi. The price is higher and I felt the protein portions are not as generous. The fish quality is high and I enjoyed what I ordered in terms of taste with the exception of the lopsided portions. I ordered a large and expected a more generous scoop of each protein, instead I got two heaping scoops of white rice which took over half the large size dish. I also wish the rice was sushi rice which makes it easier to eat with the chopped fish. All in all it was good, but felt for what I spent, value for money was just meh.
