If you're looking for a restaurant that opens late - this has to be one of them! Opens until 4AM. We came there on a Friday evening around 10PM and the place is still bustling. Decor is nice looking and each table is a booth style with high wall partition. We ordered the Ozuri You Course + Takoyaki + Japanese Pudding for dessert. Lots of food for sure. Our favorite is their fish items (sushi, sashimi, grilled cod) AND Pudding! We've never tasted a cod as soft and flaky as the one served here. We visited Ozuri after experiencing a bout of post-Japan depression. We found this place on Yelp and decided to try it out tonight. Although there were signs announcing a grand opening, it had been open for at least a year. The menu is printed on large legal-sized papers stapled together, with photos of each item. We ordered the following: * Assorted sashimi ($25) * Beef skewers ($8) * Scallop skewers ($7) * Tonkotsu Ramen ($14.50) * Aji Ramen ($14.50) The sashimi was fresh, and the skewers were delicious. The ramen broth was flavorful, and while it was described as spicy, it wasn't overly spicy for someone who can handle spice. The pork belly portion was thick but quite salty. Service is good. Came for dinner and loved the interior of this place. Large selection on their menu and some items had pictures as well. We got the takoyaki, udon, pork belly with bean sprouts, negima and beef skewer. The beef skewer was wayyyy too tough to chew. The negima was definitely my favorite as it was pretty tender and a little sweet. The takoyaki was pretty good as well. The udon was okay at best, it came with two tiny little fish balls and the soup was overly salty. The pork belly bean sprout had good flavor but the pork was wayyy too thin and there were only a couple pieces in the dish. I thought the service was nice but they never came back once to check on us. Overall, glad there's a place open this late but food and service could be improved. read more

Ozuri Izakaya is a Japanese pub with drinks, ramen, sushi, and more. The inside looks like a typical Japanese restaurant and because it stays open so late, the vibes really depend on who is inside. Service was efficient and friendly. We got the Shishito Pepper, Chicken Skin, French Fries, Ozuri Tebanaka Wings, Shrimp Tempura, and other small bites. The Shishito Peppers were really flavorful, which surprised me. I liked the French Fries a lot as they were thick and crispy, plus the sauce that it came with was tasty. The Shrimp Tempura was not the usual beer battered kind, but less doughy and more shrimpy. I thought it was still good as it paired well with the sauce it came with. The Ozuri Tebanaka Wings were really delicious... a good mix of sweet and tangy. I will say the portions for the food are a bit pricey especially since the portions are kind of small. But we did get a pitcher of beer that was relatively cheap. I think this is a great spot for people who want to have good eats and drinks late at night. The food is solid and it was not too busy when I went on a Friday night, so you can talk to your friends without having to shout over each other. It is more chill than the typical late night Asian spots in Duluth, but I think that can be a perk. read more

I must say I was a little disappointed. The prices were quite high for the small bites of food you get. And each dish was just okay. Someone in our group ordered the chicken wings, which allegedly came with 12 pieces. Turns out each wing was really a half wing. So essentially it was an order of 6. I was also shocked that the menu included a skewer of a few grilled garlic cloves -- for $5. That seems quite high to me. The only standout thing we ordered was the beef tataki. That was the redeeming factor. Besides the fact that this place is open till 4am and presents a good late night hangout spot, I wouldn't say it was especially amazing unfortunately! read more

The food is pretty hit or miss. Its a good place for groups, they have partially sectioned off booths and areas for each table. I believe its also Korean owned based on some of the things on the menu and the servers being Korean. The izakaya menu is small compared to Shoya, but enough for a group of 5 to try a variety of things. It felt quiet and empty when I went on a Friday night, just didn't have that busy izakaya vibe. My favorite dishes were the meats - the beef skewers and the beef tataki sushi were really tender and flavorful, and the shrimp tempura was nice and crispy. The most disappointing dish was sadly the okonomiyaki - it was really bland. The yakisoba was also alright, it was a little too peppery and didn't have much meat in it. I didn't try the ramen or sushi, so I might come back if I'm in the area and its really late and I'm hungry, but otherwise I would just go to Shoya. read more

It's a place where you order multiple dishes, share with everyone as you drink together. The food was ok in my opinion. Squid was delicious but was not a fan of the dipping sauce. The chicken wings were tiny, like one bite was all you needed. They did season it really well though. The sashimi was very fresh. Decided to try Ozuri Izakaya out early in the evening to see if it's worth adding to the late night list. Upon entering we were promptly greeted by the host who seated us near the front. The decor is lots of wood and bamboo with subdued lighting for that cozy tavern feel. We ordered some skewers and a Takoyaki. It took less than 5 minutes for the first batch to arrive after ordering. The pork belly and the beef both had a sweet glaze which was unexpected but pleasant. The Takoyaki was also excellent. Ozuri Izakaya made the cut and it's on our late night list based on service, atmosphere, and the limited items we tried. went here late at night (maybe 11pm or 12am) and despite it being kind of busy, the servers were all very attentive! such a friendly atmosphere they all welcome you when you come in lol and it's honestly really big in there. you can definitely bring a huge group of friends to this place! the food portions are pretty small in size like honestly they all kind of feel like appetizers? at least the ones that we ordered, but i didn't mind because everything is really cheap and you can order a lot of things to try. like a tapas vibe lol and of course everything tasted really good. loved the tonpeiyaki. i especially liked their desserts though, if you're not a huge fan of matcha you should still try the matcha cheesecake because it's not strong in flavor but definitely get the pudding! from what i remember, the top layer is a bit bitter, but it's worth trying for sureee. overall a very pleasant experience and i'm glad that Duluth has another great late night spot! most of the other spots open late are pochas which only offer pretty heavy servings so this is a nice place if you're not feeling that hungry and don't want to commit to too much read more

Casual atmosphere and they have a few private rooms for the extra rowdy people. Great for large groups! Best place opened this late. Miso cod - they call it grilled silver cod whatever. Miso flavor is very subtle it's good. The fried pork loin katsu. Thick cut small portion of meat but the veggies make up for it. Great idea with the sea salt on the side use it for other things. Fried right. Solid One of the very few yakitori places. The cook probably uses gloves cause all the sticks are covered in sauce so pick up the sticks using a napkin. Negima is chicken and scallions it's a classic and good. The shishito was ok too much sauce made it sweet so use the salt from the pork to compensate. Pork tsukune is ok definitely better than the chicken tsukune which is way too dry. Try the chicken skin with no sauce just salt you have to say salt!!! It's so much better the sauce makes it mushy but no sauce you get crispy salty chicken skin if it's done right! Try it - not on the menu but they can do it!! Ozuri is such a welcome find in this area! The menu is authentic and diverse enough that you will find something for everyone. I loved the interior, which is straight out of a Tokyo location: low lighting, posters on the walls, industrial building features. It was as if I were transported there for a day, and I appreciated the details for theming inside. Our wait staff was very friendly and seated us right away, gave us plenty of time to look through the menu, and were available whenever we wanted to order. Being an Izakaya, it's pretty typical to order a lot of small dishes to share and have over beer or sake. We ordered 4 types of yakitori (chicken and green onion, asparagus and bacon, tomato and bacon and beef.) The standouts were the beef, and the tomato and bacon--I would get those again. The asparagus and bacon was also super good--the quality of the bacon was super high, which I think elevated the dish. We also ordered a ramen to share, which was just okay. I say, go full Izakaya and order yakitori. The service was excellent. We received a slightly small Tomato and Bacon skewer and the waitress was incredible--she apologized and gave us an additional one without us even asking. Honestly, we would have been OK with the original order, but her attention to detail is what will surely bring us back in the future. They offer a free mini bingsu (shaved ice) when you post on Instagram, and that was also incredible--very finely shaved ice, toppings were authentic and delicious. I also got the salmon donburi and it was $22 for about 5 pcs of salmon and a tablespoon of ikura. It would have been easier to make this from grocery store ingredients. Went to this place during Mother's Day and came out disappointed. Firstly the service was just terrible. Barely anybody checked on us after they gave us a menu. We had to wave down a waiter each time. We finally got our order in food starts coming out. The okonomiyaki comes out and it comes out wet. This thing had little to no crispiness. It's like they put the dish together, put it on the stove for 30 seconds then plated it. Then we asked the waiter to cook it even longer and the dish never ended up coming back lol. Like literally just disappeared. My friend also ordered noodles which never arrived so we then asked for a refund on those items. When some of the skewers came, the waiter delivering them tripped or something and the skewer accidentally landed on the table. He then proceeds to take said skewer and put it nicely on the plate next to the other one. We were just in awe at that move and I just wanted to leave. We also ordered the scallop and chicken thigh skewers and man... the scallops were tiny. When I say tiny I mean they cut one big scallop piece into 6 individual pieces and served it for 10 dollars. The chicken thigh skewers also tasted dry. Chicken thigh. Like what. The only time someone apologized was when that waiter dropped the skewer. Even after our food never arrived they never said sorry about that guys we forgot or hey guys we apologize for that there was a mix up in the kitchen. The waiter literally just quietly shuffled away and that was the end of it lol. I don't think I ever want to come back to this place. It's run poorly and the food is overpriced for tasting so mediocre. I even felt disappointed that I was full because now I'm not hungry with food in my belly that didn't satisfy me at all. read more

The service provided could have been a little more attentive. Me and my husband meet up with our cousins for dinner, and they ordered the course meal which comes with a bunch of food. Us on the other hand, we ordered a variety of things like silver cod in miso sauce, shrimp katsu, gyoza, yakisoba, chicken wing skewers, and tonpeiyaki. Also got the whole table matcha green tea. The food took forever to come out. Everything came out one by one. The longer we waited the less hungry we got. My cousins didn't get their sashimi until the end of the meal because they forgot about it. Even had to ask the server, but she didn't realize we never got it. It took a while longer just for them to get it. You would think sashimi would come out faster than the skewers, but it was the last item to arrive at the table. I think the workflow of the restaurant could've been a little better, but they're still pretty new. Overall, the food wasn't anything special and worth memorable. Me and my daughter and sister-in-law were there last night (11/28/25). We asked the waiter what he recommended he said the course meal which was $120 basically, $40 per person. The course started with a medium size salad to share and some condiments nicely arranged in a wooden staircase structure. Next we were presented with 4 pieces of chicken and some other small appetizers. Next we had sushi/sashimi nicely arranged in a square box (16 pieces). Next there were some meat grilled on stick to share and then finally a medium size bowl soup to share. We were extremely disappointed. For $40 per person (3 of us) or $120 for the course meal is ripped off! Additionally, food were bland and tasted horrible! I have been to Japan 3 times and have experienced Japanese quite a bit. I can tell you this restaurant is a joke! Ripping your customers on top of that?? Ridiculous! I do not recommend this restaurant and will never go back. read more
