First of all, I loved the wide layout of the place, with high ceilings. Not only chic, but a comfy ambiance as well. Also, the service was really good...very attentive. I tried their Tonkatsu Platter...and also their Seaweed Salad on the side. I loved how it also came with miso soup. Sadly, however, I didn't love the taste of the Tonkatsu. For one, I felt it was undercooked...or it was just very soft...almost mushy?? I regretted getting the pork...Might have liked the chicken katsu better. Still, overall, I liked the restaurant enough for it to merit 4 stars.

Plenty of parking in plaza where it's located. They have a mix of booths and tables with a call button at each. The menu is pretty straight forward, they offer different types of tonkatsu in a variety of sets. Each table also has a container for chili oil (not spicy, but more garlic flavored. Reminded me of the chili crisp), matcha salt, and spicy red pepper for the curry. We got: - shrimp head appetizer ($4) for like 12 pieces of fried shrimp heads. I love fried shrimp heads so this was an easy decision - chicken thigh tonkatsu set with extra side of curry: the curry was $3 extra and comes on the side. The set itself comes with miso soup and cabbage salad with a sesame dressing (you can sub it with potato salad). The salad is unlimited refills but the potato salad is not. The dressing needed salt so after adding some of the matcha salt, it was perfect. The curry was solid. The chicken thigh was super crispy and moist, it was the best cut of meat at the table (even among the premium tonkatsu). Would def get that again!! The set comes with 2 sauces, a standard sweet ish katsu sauce with a sliver of wasabi (?) that was perfect when mixed and yum yum sauce. - pork katsu don: the rice was great underneath. It was already seasoned and adding some matcha salt and chili oil made it even better. The pork was a bit dry but the outer fried part was crispy and good. The egg on the don was well cooked and delicious. Overall get the chicken thigh!!

The meal closest to camera is shrimp katsu with daikon radish and mentaiko rice upcharges. Comes with cabbage and miso.

The Katsu chicken and shrimp were both really good. I typically don't like katsu style frying because it can feel greasy or heavy but this was incredibly light and airy. The service was average. Plenty of seating but nothing private. So just be ready to hear other's conversations. The only thing my partner and I did not like was the Takoyaki. Overall great food. Will definitely be back.

Chicken Breast Katsu combo with miso soup and salad

I was surprised when I came here on a whim and saw it had changed from the ramen place I visited a while back! Once I wrapped my brain around the different menu, I decided in the chicken breast katsu combo with a little salad and miso soup. The chicken was crisp and juicy with the panko breading and rice and egg. Could have used more flavor so I added chili oil which was the right decision. The miso soup was fine and the salad was forgettable. The area as wide and spacious with booth and table seating. It is in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The service was swift and kind.

This was a really random on the whim selection and I can't say it was worthwhile. I ordered the tonkatsu combo $19 (includes rice, miso soup, and cabbage salad). The batter on the pork was light and crispy due to the panko. The pork itself was on the fattier side making for a pretty heavy dish. I did not care for the cabbage salad dressing nor the sauces the accompanied the dish. I tried a different sauce that came with the curry and felt it better complemented the meat. The meal wasn't bad but also nothing to write home about. It was so heavy and even with different combinations it all felt like the same bite/one note. Service was almost nonexistent. I had to ask for utensils and napkins twice. When orders came out, foods were not properly mentioned so huge mix up in food. No one came to check up on us after the food came. So no water refills or asking if we needed anything. Spacious restaurant with a casual atmosphere.

Premium Tonkatsu and Chicken Thigh Katsu Don

Very impressive! I've recently been disappointed by a few katsu places in the area, so I didn't have much expectations for this place. But this place was surprising. Ordered the premium tonkatsu combo and the chicken thigh don. Tonkatsu was more fatty and it did get a bit oily at the end as it cooled down, but first bite when it was hot was heavenly. Chicken thigh don was delicious! The rice especially was my favorite part but the chicken thigh was also so soft I forgot it was chicken as I was eating it. Service was great. All the waiters were so friendly and so quick! Space was pretty large but it filled up very quickly probably since it was Saturday night. We'll be visiting again as I think this is one of the best katsu places we've visited in the area.

4.5 but will round up. Came by for Saturday lunch and the place soon filled up by the time we left. Service was kind and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We at first thought it was a bit pricey but the portions were huge so I think the price is fair. We each got pretty big salads to start that came with our meals. Ordered takoyaki for our appetizer. Liked that there were several pieces of octopus inside, some places are mostly batter. Husband ordered the katsu curry with an omelette and thought it was delicious. He said he would have liked more curry sauce though. He had leftover katsu but curry sauce was gone. I had the regular katsu set and loved how crispy yet light the katsu was. There were some fatty pieces on the edges but I enjoyed the meatier ones in the center. It also came with a miso soup, rice, and some pickles. Wished there was more katsu sauce on the side. Overall would definitely return the next time we are craving katsu!

    Pork Tenderloin Katsu - incredible!

First visit today since this transitioned from the previous ramen place. Super friendly server recommended the pork tenderloin katsu. Outrageously good - super crispy and tender, not greasy at all. Delicious dipping sauces including a fantastic sesame sauce. Very clean, comfortable and enthusiastic service. Highly recommended Japanese food option in Johns Creek area!

We came here because we were in the area so stopped by for katsu takeout and chose the cheese katsu $12 for just katsu & chicken katsu $13 for just katsu & a side of cabbage $3 The cheese one only has 4 pieces so I wouldn't call this a whole meal which is probably why they press you to get a combo for $5 ish more but for takeout, I don't need rice It took about 15 minutes and the restaurant was not busy at all There was plenty of parking in the lot and everything smelled really good and came with sauces for dipping Overall, it was good and everything was fried nicely!

Loved this place! I was in the area and run into this restaurant, and wow, it was amazing! We had the chicken breast katsu, tonkatsu, and edamame. Everything was delicious. Super crispy and flavorful. The sesame sauce was probably my favorite! Service was great. We went for a quick lunch on a weekday so the restaurant was quiet.

We came in with the expectation to eat Ramen, as this was previously a Ramen place. My niece chose this place and I was happy to let her know it was highly rated. We were surprised to find it is now a katsu place. The interior is welcoming and cool, with slick decor of gray and wood giving it a high end look. A warm welcome and immediate service followed. I went with the basic katsu combo, while my niece took the shrimp katsu. Delicious, delightful, and filling. I will recommend the combo; it comes with salad, soup and main meal including rice. I added an avocado appetizer and was licking my thumbs when I was done - OMG!!! Delectable. We got free Japanese pudding for reviews, but I would have given them a 5 star regardless. The 2 laddies that looked after us were quite attentive and warm. Soft smiles inviting feedback. They checked on us a total of 4 times, ensuring our every need/ want was attended to. Highly recommend.

Decent space for lunch. Not sure if it's a great place for dinner ambiance wise. The entrees were really good. Exactly what you'd expect. The prices on the appetizer was ridiculous tho. Certainly don't recommend that.

With so many other boba shops around I would not order those again. But the food once it came out was fresh, very flavorful and served with a smile. We really enjoyed out bento boxes and did not mind the wait. If I had one suggestion, it would be to invest in better seating options as they were not supporting the larger members of our party. Yet, there is something special about Flying Roll. Anything from it's cozy, quiet atmosphere to the flavor-forward rolls, I'd go so far as to say, there's nothing that would disappoint. The Shumai was very tasty, but the Rangoon had with more crab than cream cheese - a first, much to our pleasure. For the rolls, each was enough for one person. The standout was the Lobster Lover, followed very closely by the Triple X. The snow mountain roll was a bit heavy with the tempura flakes ( the Snow? ) but decent overall. Aji Katsu in Suwanee, GA Japanese Tonkatsu & Ramen Spot…read more I am just not a big fan of the sweet flavor in Japanese cuisine. Aji Katsu does have some similar flavors in Japan. Shrimp Curry Udon - Classic Japanese curry: slightly sweet, super rich, and bold. Sauce coats every udon perfectly. Shrimp tempura a bit over-fried, slightly chewy, but tonkatsu-style breadcrumbs gave it a nice crunch. 8.5/10 Yakisoba - Generous portion for the price! Sauce has that tangy, fruity flavor I remember from Tokyo. Beef lightly seasoned. Personally, tangy noodles aren't my favorite, but Tokyo street-style lovers will enjoy. 8/10 Hibachi (Hambāgu) - Grilled Japanese hamburger steak, fried rice, sautéed veggies. Initially, entering the store was a bit off. The hostess didn't speak to me for about two minutes; she'd made the assumption I was with another party getting a pick up order. But after that was resolved, I was seated quickly. The store layout was nice; big booths with tall sides for privacy. I'm not sure if I liked how all their chopsticks were in a container you pulled from the table but overall a small detail. I did really like getting ice cold water and the metal carafe they provided kept the ice out of the drink. I went for their Aji Ramen and got the $10 3 handroll add on. My choices were unagi, toro, and spicy tuna. Shockingly they didn't have any spicy tuna do I chose a salmon instead. The hand rolls came out first and a pair of scissors were also provided if I wanted to cut them myself. Here are my thoughts: Toro - surprisingly bland. There wasn't the feeling of rich fatness that I expect with it though to be fair I am comparing this to a far higher end omakase experience. Needless to say, I wouldn't chose this again. Salmon - surprisingly good. This ended up being my favorite of the three. The salmon was nice and fresh and the soy sauce and wasabi made for tasty savor bites. Unagi - also good. I'm a sucker for eel. Because of the ponzu sauce, there's no need for soy sauce. I made a mistake of dipping a piece that I cut from the handroll and it was way too salty. Eaten as is, it was just what I expected Aji Ramen - a solid bowl of ramen. I was very pleased with the full egg and also the chashu pork. I don't know if I recall the bean sprouts but at $14, this was kind of a steal in terms of bang for buck. Plenty of food even by itself. All in all, I liked Aji-Katsu. I don't think I'd travel for it but if I was in the area and in the mood I would stop in again.

Outstanding ramen, incredible fresh noodles, and excellent service from Aaliyah…read more Okiboru Ramen Takumen in Duluth was absolutely worth the visit, and honestly, I'm just mad at myself for not trying it sooner. I started with the Okiboru buns (chicken and pork) the crispy gyoza, and the garlic nori fries. All three were a great start to the meal. The buns were soft and fluffy, and the pork bun worked really well with the garlic aioli, soy glaze, and pickled cucumber. The chicken one was good too but the pork one beats it on flavor. The gyoza had a nice crisp to them and came with a shoyu dipping sauce that tied everything together well. The garlic nori fries were also really good, crispy and well seasoned, and a fun side to snack on between everything else along with the garlic sauce to dip your fries in. For my main dish, I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, which comes with rich pork broth, pork chashu, half a soft boiled egg, scallions, and thin Hakata noodles. I also added the thick noodle refill on the side, and I'm glad I did because both noodles were excellent in different ways. The biggest standout here was the noodle quality. You can tell immediately that these are fresh noodles because the texture is just on another level. The thin noodles were fantastic and worked perfectly with the tonkotsu broth, but the thick noodles were incredible too. It's one of those meals where after the first bite you immediately understand why people talk about fresh noodles the way they do. The broth itself was rich, flavorful, and comforting without feeling overly heavy, and the pork in the ramen was very good too. Service was also a big part of why this visit stood out. Aaliyah was incredibly kind and welcoming, and she did a great job making the whole experience feel comfortable from the start. Good food is one thing, but good service is a huge part of what makes people want to come back, and she absolutely deserves a shoutout. The restaurant itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I was dining solo, so I sat at a smaller table, but they also have booths and larger middle tables that look like they'd work well for bigger groups. Food came out pretty quickly, and parking was easy since it's in a shopping center. And of course, everything got washed down with a Coke Zero. Not fountain, just canned, but it still hit the spot. This was an excellent meal from start to finish. Great appetizers, outstanding ramen, truly impressive noodles, and service that made the whole visit even better. I'll definitely be back.
