I saw this place on Instagram and knew I had to check it out. Reservation were easily made on resy. The parking lot is small and it doesn't get full around lunch time. You walk up the stairs and it's a cute rooftop area (covered and inside). I think they are renovating so the rooftop (open) will be a cool place to hang out. It's a small place with seating around the bar. 5 handroll is chef's choice and there's a small beverage menu. Every roll was made fresh in front of you and all the ingredients are fresh. My favorite from the omakase is the toro with truffle and caviar. I also got the uni in addition and that was so delicious! The chef and server were so friendly and attentive. I will be back!

I had to give this place two tries before leaving a review! The first time I came was for lunch on a Friday, it wasn't busy at all, just me and my friends. The chef was super nice and talkative, and the servers were also really attentive. Second visit was a Friday night, and it was much busier, but the service was still awesome! Pricing & Quality: 5 hand rolls for $38 is pretty decent. It wasn't a mind-blowing experience, but for the price, it's solid. The quality is basic but reasonable for what you pay. I'd definitely come back as long as they don't raise the prices! The Rolls: 1 Spicy Tuna - First visit, it was super flavorful. Second visit, it was a bit bland, but the rolls were bigger. 2 Creamy Crab - Just okay. I felt like they skimped on the crab and gave more rice instead. Mostly tasted the seaweed. 3 Salmon - Flavor was better the first time. Second visit, it was a little bland. I'm also not a fan of the crunch, so next time, I'd skip that. 4 Toro - Pretty basic. Good, but nothing too special. 5 Spicy Scallop - Personally, not my favorite, but that's just my preference. Gave mine to my friend, and she loved it! Add-Ons: Uni - A must! $15 well spent because the chef was generous with the portion! Big Mac - My absolute favorite! The Uni was surprisingly sweet and sooo good! The chef did not skimp he gave a big chunk! Hamachi - Normally, I don't care for Hamachi, but this was my second favorite! It had a nice citrusy flavor, super fresh. Wagyu - Not sure what type of Wagyu they use, but it's definitely not A5 Japanese. It was a little tough to bite into. That said, the sauce was amazing! And OMG... the MISO SOUP!!! Hands down, the best miso soup I've ever had. I even asked for a second bowl it was ! Overall, I'd definitely come back if they keep the prices the same!

I was in the area and craving some really good sushi. This spot came up and instantly knew I had to check it out. I visited Jak Handroll solo, just as they were opening. It's situated above Jak Omakase; you'll want to use the stairs on the left hand side to get there. When I walked in the set up was beautiful! It's a smaller restaurant but very fitting for the omakase style. As I was seated, the waitress explained how Jak Handroll works and the chef got started immediately. Each roll was better than the next and paired with the Yuzu the experience was great! Your experience comes with 5 rolls and then you have the option to add additional rolls a la carte once the last one comes out. You'll also get a cup of miso soup. My server was attentive, the chef was friendly and we had a nice chat in between rolls. Overall 10/10 experience and I plan to return with some friends.

I love me a good handroll spot! This is a straightforward sushi restaurant specializing in handrolls. Atmosphere was calm and quiet, service was fantastic and food (in my opinion) was good for the price. Heads up that parking can be limited if you go on the weekends and bring a sweater because the AC was blasting. I also heard from the chef that they're trying to open two more locations in the future (Midtown and Doraville).

Worst omakase I have ever been to in my entire life. I have had nearly every Omakase spot in the state of Georgia and this really is the worst. They deleted all there bad reviews on Google and Yelp somehow. Go to omakase table or Norifish instead. The food is tiny and the taste is terrible. It's not authentic and your money is better spent elsewhere. The ambiance is wack with loud music that isn't calming. It seems the high reviews on here are from the owners friends. Don't be fooled!! Will never come back here and you shouldn't either. Service bad too. The roll and pho across getting you triple the value with what you pay here and is just better.

I will be coming back and telling EVERYONE about this place even though I want to gatekeep it. The chef is so friendly and the way he rolls is truly satisfying to watch. The flow of the meal was perfect but I did notice others having to slow down or skip while others continued. My favorite is the hamachi by far but a close second is the toro. Wagyu melts in your mouth. The fish is incredibly fresh and all the flavors are balanced and don't overpower the fish itself. Rice was slightly sweet it was wonderful. We were full from the omakase but we did order more because we wanted to try some things that were not a part of tonight's selection. 1000000% recommend. You won't find a higher quality hand roll omakase for this price point literally anywhere except maybe Japan.

My very first experience at an omikase handroll bar was fantastic! Jak Handroll Bar in Duluth is a small rooftop location that has a relaxing intimate feel with seating at a bar overlooking the rolls being made. The five course omikase experience is $38 which also comes with a bowl of miso soup. There was a small number of us which resulted in a very accessible experience. I added a himachi roll at the end after the five courses. The ingredients were so fresh and the rolls so delicious. The staff was attentive and answered questions we had along the way. Heads up- it is a very swift moving experience so if you are not ready for your night out to come to an end so soon, there are little dessert/bakery places close by. I highly recommend this experience and look forward to a return visit.

Jak Hand Roll offers a solid hand roll experience with great seafood quality. The 5-course set for $36 was enjoyable, though fairly short. We arrived at 7:50 and left by 8:20. Miso soup was a nice touch to wash everything down, and the option to order from the menu added flexibility. Decorations were beautiful and fun to look at and it was more casual than the omakase. Service was very attentive, making for a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.

This was my first omakase experience, and I've got to say it was so WORTH IT!!! It's only one bar, and it's intimate and cozy. I love the vibes inside. It's five handrolls, and my favorite is definitely the sexy scallop, the scallop was SO FRESH, with yuzu and masago sparkle, ugh, I know I'll be thinking about it for a while. Would definitely recommend this spot for a date night or celebration!

Both times that I went to Jak Handroll was a 10/10. Jeff is amazing as always and is very attentive. The handrolls are sooo incredibly fresh and he gave us real wasabi!!

So happy to have found a handroll bar near Atlanta. Don't really see much of them down south, let alone ones that is as good as Jak Handroll Bar. Loved the ambiance; since the bar was inside, it wasn't cold at all even though it's rooftop. The service was amazing, the chef prepared each out of course meticulously. Truly a great experience, lovely date night.

I was a huge fan of this place when it was strictly Japanese...and was quite bummed when I heard…read morethey changed this restaurant from Japanese to Asian fusion. In any case, I finally decided to check out the place for dinner. Well, right away, I saw that they added more tables. Even with more tables, the restaurant still seemed pretty spacious. I've always loved the spaciousness of this place...but I find the layout a bit awkward. Unless you come with a group of 4, you'll most likely be seated in the open area...where there's just this utter lack of privacy. So yeah, as nice as this place is, there's a certain lack of comfort and coziness? I also noticed that their menu/menus looked quite different. Initially I was handed just this Korean-Chinese menu...and when I asked if they had Bento Boxes, they handed me the Japanese menu, but I didn't see any sushi rolls on the menu (??). I should have asked, but I just let that go. In retrospect, I really regret not asking. But then again, I wonder why they didn't hand out ALL the menus right off the bat? Who knows...Maybe they had a third menu with a list of sushi rolls?? ANYWAY, I ended up ordering their Bulgogi Bento, which turned out to be quite substantial in portion, and well presented. The thing I didn't like was the bland, undercooked Bulgogi, with excessive fat. I've been getting served a lot of Bulgogi like this lately around town..and it has somewhat turned me off to Bulgogi in general. I personally prefer a much better cooked Bulgogi, with less fat. I enjoyed the Japchae, as well as the fried sides, but frankly, all the foods were all lacking in full Korean flavor. Some of the sides in the bento just seemed off...like these lackluster Avocado Sushi Rolls and a generic Salad (??). I felt that for the 32-dollar pricing, the sides should have been much better. This bento also came with Egg Drop Soup...but again, too bland. Guess I should have poured some soy sauce. As usual, the service was really good though. They even added this complimentary post-meal drink...this might have been the best part of my entire meal? I still think this is a really nice restaurant, with a lot to offer. I just didn't like how it got rid of many of its stellar Japanese menu items. Also, unfortunately, I just didn't like what I ordered. Again, the Bulgogi was too mild and too fatty...and all the foods in the Bento tasted a bit too bland. If I was to return, I would definitely not repeat the Bulgogi Bento. If they really don't have any sushi rolls, guess I'd order something Chinese?

Yet, there is something special about Flying Roll. Anything from it's cozy, quiet atmosphere to the flavor-forward rolls, I'd go so far as to say, there's nothing that would disappoint. We dined on Shumai and Rangoon with our hot green tea. The rolls arrived in very good time following - The Triple X, Lobster Love and Snow Mountain rolls. The Shumai was very tasty, but the Rangoon had with more crab than cream cheese - a first, much to our pleasure. For the rolls, each was enough for one person. The standout was the Lobster Lover, followed very closely by the Triple X. The snow mountain roll was a bit heavy with the tempura flakes ( the Snow? ) but decent overall. Recapping, the service, flavors and vibe all warrant future visits for certain, if for no other reason than to try their other offerings, which are plentiful! Even the drive itself would not be a factor. BON APPÉTIT

The entrance is very neat and it was very nice to be welcomed and seated as soon as we walked in. There were quite a few servers or hostess standing to make sure if there was anyone that needed anything, they would be attended right away. The variety of sushi was splendid, they gave nigiri sushi along with cooked sushi. The wings were yummy as well as their shrimp crab boil. I wish I would've gotten a picture of the crab boil but it was legit with the little crabs and corn - I think the only thing missing was the potatoes. Dessert was fun as they had a chocolate fountain where you could dip marshmallows or other desserts.
