My friend and I made a reservation for dinner here at 7pm. There are 10 seats total. The whole experience took about an hour and a half for $78 15 course omakase. I'm so sure I only received 14 courses because I thought I took a photo of each piece but maybe I forgot one. Some pieces had too much wasabi in my opinion but each piece tasted fresh and good quality but didn't really like wow me as much as I'd expect. I also got a sunset peach cocktail. Most of the cocktails are on the sweeter side. Overall the service and the chef were very nice and attentive.

It was my 1st time doing omakase. I went with a friend and it was such an amazing experience for my very 1st time. The service was on point. The ambiance was very cool. I loved how the sushi came out one dish at a time. It was a very intimate and very cool setting. I couldn't remember all the omakase names but we did the Shogun Omakase. I will definitely be back with some other friends to experience this place.

Absolutely DIVINE! My dad made reservations for dinner a couple weeks ago to celebrate my sister's birthday. My cousin, sister, and I enjoyed it very much! I tried to take a pic of all the courses but got distracted a couple times and missed some. Most of the pictures don't do the dishes justice. The only ones I did not love were the ones with the salmon roe, but that's just a personal texture preference thing. The chef was great and the pricing is definitely affordable if you've been wanting an omakase experience that's wonderful but also won't break the bank this is a must try!

Incredible service and overall dining experience with great ambiance. The ikura is some of the best I've ever had, slightly sweet, salty, and not briny at all. The waygu was buttery and decadent. The fatty tuna melted in my mouth. I also loved the cute cat shaped ice.

I went to Jak Omakase for my 30th birthday. What an experience! The quality of the fishes were absolutely amazing. Each piece was made with care by the chef. It was amazing just watching him work. I did the Emperor course which consisted of 19 pieces. Do it! The extra 4 pieces I got were amazing! I think it was worth the price! The rest of the staff were amazing as well, very attentive. They made sure to check on us often throughout our meal. The vibe was relaxing, and I couldn't ask for a better birthday dinner. They also gave me a slice of strawberry cheesecake since it was my birthday. What a great meal, and I can't wait to go back!

Pretty good for cost ($58 for 12-piece lunch) but obviously not as impressive as the more expensive places. Quality/freshness was probably an 8/10, setting 9/10 (relaxing environment), service 8/10 (we felt rushed... omakase courses are generally timed to be plated after you finish the prior course, but the chef doubled up a couple lol). I'd say the main things that could be improved are creativity (super basic offerings, seems like menu doesn't change much but idk if I'm right about that) and using less wasabi for some of the nigiri. Overall, if you're on a budget, worth checking out.

She believed she could.. Sushi did~ (: Are you looking for an intimate & cozy Omakase experience without breaking the bank?! Check out @jak_omakase in Duluth. 12-course Lunch Omakase is only $58 & 15-course Dinner Omakase is $78. Def worth it for the price & we left feeling satisfied.

Jak Omakase may be far outside the city, but let me tell you--it's well worth the drive. Omakase is meant to be an intimate, cozy experience, and Jak far exceeded my expectations. With only 15 seats, it feels exclusive in the best way. I highly recommend going for the premium experience--yes, it's a bit pricey, but every bite justifies the cost. And don't worry about leaving hungry; each dish is packed with flavor, rich yet delicate, leaving you satisfied but never uncomfortably full. What made it even more special was chatting with the chef, learning about his craft, and watching him prepare each course with such precision and passion. 10/10--will definitely be back.

Been to this place multiple times, any time I'm craving quality sushi without breaking the bank too much this place is my number one. The pricing reflects the quality for sure. The chef is very kind. The atmosphere isn't intimidating at all and every bite is favorable. If you're new to sushi or want to try raw fish outside of your comfort zone this place is definitely the place to do it. Great place to eat at on your night out with your significant other or even by yourself. Every piece is at the right temperature, quality, fatty fish melts in your mouth(pause). Give this place a try

Jak Omakase is a great experience, and the price makes it sooooo worth it! Parking is a little confusing. The parking directly in front of the building gets filled very quickly, but there is a long stretch of spots on the left of the building in front of the apartment available to the retail area! The restaurant itself does not have a big sign quite yet, but it is directly next to Gu Thai. Inside, it goes for a very calm vibe. The lights are pretty dim, and they play a nice EDM playlist that my friends really enjoyed. The service was excellent. They were on top of giving us water, taking our order, and even gave us the playlist for the music. I think the only downside is that some of the menu is hard to read because of the small font, and it's dark inside. Our chef was Chef Joe, and he was excellent. He served all of the fish, and all of it was delicious. We had such a fun time, and I really liked that if the 15 courses wasn't enough, you could still order more. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable but delicious omakase experience.

You don't find much omakase places in Georgia with that good of a price tag. I think you get what you paid for, and it wasn't super expensive compared to other omakase places. I've had much better in New York, but this place was just okay for me. Its concept is also a not so shared space with different restaurant right next door.

So good and pretty affordable for the amount and quality of fish you get. Friendly service and great sake selection!

Of all the omakase's I've been to, the portions here are atrociously small. The food doesn't have the quality of a true omakase experience and the rice isn't the quality it should be at. Money is better spent next door at Gu Thai. The speakers and music doesn't match the vibe either. Service is slow and there is a lack of depth that needs to be addressed. They are new but have a long way to go if they want to survive. I don't see myself ever coming back here and there are many other better places around.

It's that good. Believe the hype. We opted for the larger Omakase at lunch and the additions were Uni Wagyu and Toro.

We went with dinner option since the 3 extra pieces were blue crab, A5 Wagyu, and freshwater eel and for just $20 extra, it's all well worth the price.

I was a huge fan of this place when it was strictly Japanese...and was quite bummed when I heard…read morethey changed this restaurant from Japanese to Asian fusion. In any case, I finally decided to check out the place for dinner. Well, right away, I saw that they added more tables. Even with more tables, the restaurant still seemed pretty spacious. I've always loved the spaciousness of this place...but I find the layout a bit awkward. Unless you come with a group of 4, you'll most likely be seated in the open area...where there's just this utter lack of privacy. So yeah, as nice as this place is, there's a certain lack of comfort and coziness? I also noticed that their menu/menus looked quite different. Initially I was handed just this Korean-Chinese menu...and when I asked if they had Bento Boxes, they handed me the Japanese menu, but I didn't see any sushi rolls on the menu (??). I should have asked, but I just let that go. In retrospect, I really regret not asking. But then again, I wonder why they didn't hand out ALL the menus right off the bat? Who knows...Maybe they had a third menu with a list of sushi rolls?? ANYWAY, I ended up ordering their Bulgogi Bento, which turned out to be quite substantial in portion, and well presented. The thing I didn't like was the bland, undercooked Bulgogi, with excessive fat. I've been getting served a lot of Bulgogi like this lately around town..and it has somewhat turned me off to Bulgogi in general. I personally prefer a much better cooked Bulgogi, with less fat. I enjoyed the Japchae, as well as the fried sides, but frankly, all the foods were all lacking in full Korean flavor. Some of the sides in the bento just seemed off...like these lackluster Avocado Sushi Rolls and a generic Salad (??). I felt that for the 32-dollar pricing, the sides should have been much better. This bento also came with Egg Drop Soup...but again, too bland. Guess I should have poured some soy sauce. As usual, the service was really good though. They even added this complimentary post-meal drink...this might have been the best part of my entire meal? I still think this is a really nice restaurant, with a lot to offer. I just didn't like how it got rid of many of its stellar Japanese menu items. Also, unfortunately, I just didn't like what I ordered. Again, the Bulgogi was too mild and too fatty...and all the foods in the Bento tasted a bit too bland. If I was to return, I would definitely not repeat the Bulgogi Bento. If they really don't have any sushi rolls, guess I'd order something Chinese?

Yet, there is something special about Flying Roll. Anything from it's cozy, quiet atmosphere to the flavor-forward rolls, I'd go so far as to say, there's nothing that would disappoint. We dined on Shumai and Rangoon with our hot green tea. The rolls arrived in very good time following - The Triple X, Lobster Love and Snow Mountain rolls. The Shumai was very tasty, but the Rangoon had with more crab than cream cheese - a first, much to our pleasure. For the rolls, each was enough for one person. The standout was the Lobster Lover, followed very closely by the Triple X. The snow mountain roll was a bit heavy with the tempura flakes ( the Snow? ) but decent overall. Recapping, the service, flavors and vibe all warrant future visits for certain, if for no other reason than to try their other offerings, which are plentiful! Even the drive itself would not be a factor. BON APPÉTIT

The entrance is very neat and it was very nice to be welcomed and seated as soon as we walked in. There were quite a few servers or hostess standing to make sure if there was anyone that needed anything, they would be attended right away. The variety of sushi was splendid, they gave nigiri sushi along with cooked sushi. The wings were yummy as well as their shrimp crab boil. I wish I would've gotten a picture of the crab boil but it was legit with the little crabs and corn - I think the only thing missing was the potatoes. Dessert was fun as they had a chocolate fountain where you could dip marshmallows or other desserts.
