This place has the most delicious pastries in the area. I believe they bake their goods onsite! I got the morning bun - swirly cinnamon bun and it was so crispy and soft on the inside. Also topped it off with a small ice coffee with a splash of half and half. I highly recommend this place to people. There is even an back area to sit and do some work. The space has a lot light and so cheerful and a spot to work remotely. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu!

It's a gem in Windsor Terrace neighborhood. Nice staff, plenty of food choices for a veganese like me. Cozy seating area too, inside and out.

Poetica Coffee opens up its first Park Slope (well, border of Park Slope / Windsor Terrace) output, strategically right by the F train! Now, if you had asked me what this neighborhood needs more of I sincerely doubt I ever would've said "another cafe / coffee joint" and yet here I am, kinda excited about Poetica. It's in a great location and, as of opening during pandemic, it has a buncha outdoor seating in the front and, I presume, seating in the back as well (knowing the layout of the restaurant that used to be here at least....) What's nicest about Poetica, to me, is their unique coffee blends and their under $10 price points. You can get a really solid prosciutto croissant sandwich for roughly $8, a little baked pastry with chicken (they call 'pierogi'?) for under $5, or a small quiche for $6. They also have tempting looking dessert-y things, like scones and muffins and macarons and little fruit tarts. Their coffee is similarly reasonably priced, under $3 for a flavorful (and strong!) drip coffee feels like a breath of fresh air 'round these parts. They also seem to offer your fav coffee bar extras, from matcha to earl grey lattes. No complaints! I'm looking forward to coming back and tasting everything on the menu. Even having only been once, I'm already eyeing this as a potential workday lunch go-to, especially useful once offices resume and I can grab and go!

Great coffee, kind staff, FREE wifi, and lots of seating. Phone booth for rent $5/30 minutes. Other coffee shops should replicate this one. There's actually seating, electrical plugs, and a phone booth to work in peace.

Amazing breakfast/ snack. Eggs mixed cheeses made to order

Such a cool new coffee shop with good eats. I've visited another of their locations which is as great all from the drip coffee, matcha lattes and freshly baked croissants on the premises. Le's not Forget the pierogies and quiches so excited they've opened in an area I visit often.

My friend and I came here last weekend as she had stumbled upon it a few weeks back and we both thought we should check it out. They have a very cute and albeit Instagram worthy set up in the front and then a very cute back garden area (that we sat in). They have a good selection of coffee and tea drinks, along with pastries and sandwiches. I would definitely come back here again!

Yay, another location for this great cafe! They made the front really cute, with a recognizable color scheme, and a few small tables and chairs. It's loud! I mean really loud. For a quieter experience, go through the cafe to the back patio. There are three small tables truly outside back there, and a larger enclosed area equivalent to the enclosed outdoor space at the Windsor Terrace location. The wifi is strong enough to attract the working on a project on your laptop crowd (yes I've been that person here). Espresso coffees are expertly made, and they have all of the non dairy milk options. Definitely order a pastry; the quiches are delicious, as are the pierogi (really piroshki, the fried dough things not the dumplings), and sometimes they have other Central Asian specialities (Uzbek? Don't want to get it wrong, but for example there's baklava that is totally different to what you get in Turkey). Also, you know, everything you'd want in Park Slope like macaron, croissants, etc. one gender neutral restroom and they encourage graffiti :) Great service but the indoor space is so narrow, they might have to rearrange the counter at some point...

I stopped by this place on a Saturday afternoon. The cafe's decor is so beautiful -- it's painted bright blue and adorned with artificial flowers. There are a few outdoor tables as well as seating indoors. I didn't really see the indoor seating since it's past the register, but it was decorated with a huge variety live plants which was lovely. I got an iced latte with oat milk. The coffee was pretty strong but still delicious! I would love to come here again since this place is so beautiful but it's so far ;_;

Best matcha and chai in the area! Chill ambiance, pierogis and friendly baristas, one of my favorite cafes in Park Slope. Highly recommend.

You must have the Brussels sprouts!! I'd go back for those in a minute! I very much enjoyed my salmon dish. Lovely presentation and preparation but portion a bit small. However, the Brussels sprouts were so generous portion that even after sharing there was "take home" for us. The chocolate mousse was extraordinary! I don't even want to know the calorie count - but worth it!! My one negative was the chill of the Cabernet Yes, I know that's the trend but personally I prefer room temp especially in cold weather The restaurant owner was gracious, staff actually charming and accommodating We are recommending this place to family and friends and plan to return especially when going to BAM ENJOY!!

Walked in and was able to get a seat without reservation, but it definitely filled up by 6/7 pm. The place is dimly lit and the tables are quite small. For the food, we got their Brussel sprouts, shrimp, salmon entree and chicken entree. Our favorite were definitely the shrimp. But everything else when eaten together tasted a bit too greasy and felt monotonous in terms of flavor. Brussel sprouts were fried and held to a decent amount of oil, then the addition of tahini made it even more oily. Pan chicken we expected whole pieces of chicken but it was more like a thin chicken cutlet. The salmon came with a cauliflower puree which tasted so rich (with butter), but I couldn't finish it bc it was so rich.

People have left some odd reviews of this place, including a one-star review for the restaurant…read moreapparently being highly politicized--a vibe I neither felt nor could visually identify within or without the establishment. I ordered a single burger and a Sudan spiced peanut butter latte, for ~$15! That's pretty inexpensive for New York City. I note this as some consider it overpriced. I suppose the food is fairly inexpensive, the lattes slightly higher than average. The "burger" comes wrapped in a homemade pita with diced cucumber, onion, and tomato, plus a few crispy, thick-cut fries and a yummy house sauce. It was a cool twist of the traditional burger and had a nice flavor. The sauce was like a slightly Mediterranean version of Big Mac sauce. The girl working as the barista and cashier was very nice and friendly. She had a nice presence and warm smile, made suggestions, and even gave a stranger free utensils when they popped on to ask. I think it's definitely worth checking out, and it's a good place for a cheap & simple meal that's still quirky and fun.

Perhaps I should have anticipated that, or my mistake in ordering. I also ordered a Moroccan egg salad sandwich which was substantive but surprisingly bland--sparse with the advertised capers and pickled red onions to give it more punch. I've always loved the look of the spot and the vibe--funky decor, outside and indoor facing counters to order, with some outdoor seating for people watching on Dekalb or heading nearby Ft. Greene Park. I see they are renovating and rebranding a bit and adding some burger component. While I didn't love it, I'd definitely give it another shot.
