Sat at the bar with 2 other friends and had the BEST time. Our server was so kind, attentive, and friendly. The food was quick but so fresh and hot. They gave us coupons for the next time we come. We were a little bummed at first that only bar seating was available but it ended up being exactly what we needed!
I dined solo at the bar-top in Poeta, and both the bartender Will and my server were super welcoming and gave me a lot of great recommendations for an Austin newbie! I was told the linguini is fantastic but it was out of stock, so I ordered the malfadine instead. It was yummy and I appreciated that it wasn't super heavy or salty, which are my usual complaints about pastas in general. Everything was reasonably priced. The ambience was slightly upscale but pretty casual/chill at the bar. The food was pretty good, but the service was the real standout! Thanks for a wonderful time.
A very cool spot! We arrived a little early and went upstairs to their 2nd floor bar to have a cocktail. I had the savvy savory and really liked it. The vibes are great, and they had a projector outside playing movies. When we went back downstairs for dinner, the ambiance was also really nice. I loved my pasta - it was very fresh and the pasta shape was fun. My husband also enjoyed his meal and was particularly impressed by the corn polenta. Will definitely go back!
Austin, Tx. Coming here was an enjoyable experience, mostly due to the exceptionally crafted food that was innovative and perhaps a bit daring. It goes without saying that the food was also delicious. The restaurant is on the small side, somewhat intimate, the bar seating occupies about the same amount of floor area. The lighting is dim but thankfully not too dark. The overall ambiance is casual, possibly romantic. On my night of dining it was party time at a couple other tables so there was a lot of alcohol infused laughter and revelation. It was all good, nothing was distracting me from the presentations offered plate by plate. The hostess was nice with an edgy look, I thought I was going to be immersed into a hipster punky situation, but no, all was good. The waitstaff were all exceptionally friendly and not at all stuffy. I mention this only because perhaps being Michelin recognized might bring forth a bit of attitude, but not a trace of that. Things I tried on that evening: Arancini, very tasty, the chili pesto reached out and gets your attention without being dominate. I'd share this one though, it's a filler upper. Sourdough bread, fresh baked on the premises served sliced and warm with black garlic olive oil. Wonderful. Gnocchi, a most unusual and surprising version of this classic. Each morsel is wrapped in prosciutto and fried, served with a honey sauce and Parmesan. Nothing like the gnocchi in a pasta sauce that is so familiar to me. I loved this creation. Simple salad, with a champagne vinaigrette. Fresh and crisp Bibb lettuce with flavor bursts of mint. Very nice. Caesar Salad, a light and tangy example with awesome fresh and crisp greens. The lemony infusion into the dressing is just great. Lasagne, a truly awesome rendition of this old standby, it was not overly cheesy, nor was there any sharp tomato sauce annoyances, it was just pretty much a perfect lasagne. I loved how a slight crust was formed on top with the Mozzarella, Bechamel, and Parmesan. Tuscan fried chicken, a very moist, boneless piece of chicken that was of good size, served on a bed of lemon rosemary yougurt. The surprise was the peach pieces that made this dish so interesting. A beautiful presentation included. Rib Eye Steak, this steak reminded me a lot of a Koji marinated one. It was much too salty (As Well As the Sauce) for my liking. The texture of the beef, while tender, was flaccid, not "Steak" like. Probably not 16 ounces either but that is a minor point. Bottom line is that this steak is not worth $90. Not even close. Steelhead Trout, in this case it was not trout, but a small piece of overcooked salmon instead. I was underwhelmed by this serving, it was just a bit too blah to meet my expectations of this restaurant. Odd presentation too, heavily cooked skin side up. Ok, I get it, not every dish is going to be a "Wow"! The chili sauce was very good however and helped to save the dish. The pistachio mix accompanying the fish was excellent but lost in the grass like garnish. Olive oil cake with sherry poached peaches and whipped ricotta, a superb dessert without being too sweet. Budino, roasted white chocolate on top of a decadent chocolate espresso type of mousse that tasted like dark Belgian, with a hint of bitterness.This dessert is close to being dangerous. Affogato, the espresso here Is top of the line as evidenced by their great lattes (Even though too small). However for this dish the gelato is not vanilla but maple or banana. I tried a scoop of each. The maple did well with the espresso but the banana was a total failure. Chèvre cheesecake with pistachios and amareno cherries. My first goat cheese cheesecake. I'm a believer. This is the best cheesecake I've ever had, and the topping was just amazing. The pairing was a bit of a mind blower. The pastry chef is most likely some kind of genius. We enjoyed these dinners for two and walked out totally satiated. The total bill only came to $128 (Steak Night $184) which included beer and coffee.
Nice quaint place with cute decor and ambiance. Very green and nature like. I think the pasta is really good here. We got the Mafaldine and it was really good. Right noodle texture and creamy mushroom sauce with just enough cheese and greens. Originally came here because the Carbonara looked really good, but unfortunately I guess their pastas rotate so they only had Cacio E Pepe, though that also looked good despite us not getting to try it. The pork chop was tender but the sauce or whatever was underneath (the white creamy part) was a bit over-powering. All in all the service was great, not too fast, not too slow.
Wow this place is so amazing, the service and ambiance is incredible as well as the food of course. This is probably the best Italian you can get in Austin currently. Highly recommend, thank you poeta!
Our food was absolutely delicious. The brunch menu was limited, so we were really expecting much. We were all pleasantly surprised with the depth of flavor. Not pictured, but an absolute must is a mug of the best coffee in Austin. Service was attentive and friendly. The dinner vibe was perfect for brunch.
We just went to the newly opened spot at east Austin hotel. Overall it's a cute vibe but the menu options were just ok (nothing exciting) and the pastas (mafaldine and the trottole) were slightly overcooked/too soggy. The sauces were also just ok. The goat cheese dessert was good.
This newly reopened Italian restaurant in East Austin is a perfect fit for the neighborhood. The inside is gorgeous and the staff is friendly and courteous. Our fav dishes of the night were at the start, which was the tuna and the end with the pork. Both were two of the best dishes we've had in Austin. My husband and I could not make up our minds between the two pasta dishes, the rigatoni or carbonara. Both outstanding! The cheesecake was just okay but it was on the house in celebration of my husband's birthday. We chose it but next time we'll be trying the Olive Oil cake or gelato. My husband had 3 cocktails and all were unique and fresh. Don't hesitate, just go!

I visited Poeta for a solo birthday dinner, and I can honestly say it was one of the most special dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, the entire team made me feel incredibly celebrated. The ambiance is spot-on, it's sexy and sophisticated without being too dark or overly moody. It's the kind of place that feels high-end yet welcoming the second you step through the door. I started with the Arancini, followed by the Caesar salad, and finished with the Carbonara. Every single dish was outstanding. The flavors were authentic, fresh, and perfectly executed. To top off an already amazing meal, the team gifted me the Budino for my birthday dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending to the night. I have to give a massive shout-out to my server, Ethan. He was fantastic and truly deserves all the accolades. He was attentive, kind, and went above and beyond to make sure my solo celebration felt significant. That hospitality extended to everyone I encountered; from the hostess to the food runners and the person clearing my table, the entire staff made me feel amazing. I felt like the happy tears emoji the entire time. I'm already counting down the days until I can come back and share this gem with my friends and family. We came here luckily on their last night at this location. Thankful they are just moving locations because the service was great and the food was absolutely delicious! One of our friends is vegetarian so they provided us with a vegetarian friendly menu. Our group was so full but we did get some of their desserts back to our air bnb and thank God we did because it was DELICIOUS! My new favorite Italian spot in Austin! We went here for my birthday dinner and had a great experience. I can't wait to go here more often now that I know what to expect. We parked on the street and arrived at the time of our reservation, and were seated right away. They had a cute little Happy Birthday sign on the table for me. I started with a glass of the Super Tuscan and we decided on our menu. My fiance and I could have ordered so many things, so we just will have to go back again soon to try more! We shared the caesar salad and the arancini: taleggio fonduta, herb pesto and parmesan. The cheese sauce was amazing and the arancini had the perfect chewy and crunchy texture. Loved both! The caesar salad was so fresh with lemon juice to brighten it from all the salty cheese. Perfect. I went with the trottole for my pasta: pesto genovese, pine nut crumble. It also had sundried tomatoes mixed throughout. I absolutely loved this dish and the fresh pasta was delicious. I loved the shape too! I've never heard of trottole! My fiance loved the carbonara. We finished with the budino dessert that we will absolutely get again. It reminded us of a pot de creme, but with a very fudgy bottom layer. The salty crunchies on the top with the smooth chocolate pudding? were chef's kiss. We also thought prices were so reasonable and expected it to be much more expensive. I also enjoyed a glass of barbera with dessert. 5 stars- can't wait to go back! I have been raving about this dinner to everyone!!

Do you fear a crowd? The brunch on Monday at Poeta ensures you get top attention while all the 8-to-5ers are at work. Not many places offer brunch outside of the weekends. The restaurant is gorgeous. I had an iced latte, the arancini, and a gelato dessert. Everything was phenomenal. read more

I came here for brunch and the food was just okay which is a little disappointing because they're owned by the same people as Intero which is amazing. Not sure if we will be dining here again in the future but the service was incredible and the vibes were immaculate. Benedict (3/5): This was probably the best menu item we got. The dough for the biscuit is the same as the pizza dough for Intero but other than that it was just okay and nothing flavor wise that was exciting. House-made Meatballs Panini (2/5): I was actually very excited about this since a lot of people recommended it on here but this was SO SALTY I couldn't even finish it. Also the bread was yummy but fluffy and definitely not pressed as I was expecting for a panini. Side of Arancini (1/5): This was kind of disappointing it was dry and did not come with any sauce it's just the four balls... Side of Breakfast Potatoes (2/5): Just regular potatoes the sauce was bright but just potatoes. read more
The location reminds me of New Orleans. It has a relaxed yet upscale feel that's perfect for friends or date night. They have a few tables on the patio too for those nice summer days in Austin just kidding, wait till fall or evening for the patio. The drinks were delicious, we went for their happy hour and had their spritz along with a few other drinks. All were stellar. We also had the spaghetti (10/10) it tasted like moms Sunday pot roast with delicious pasta, the mozzarella with mushrooms (8/10) the texture was not as soft as I usually like, but the flavor was great, and the gelato (10/10) yummmmmm. Intero has a special place in my heart so I was SO thrilled to see they had opened a sister restaurant Poeta. We went to Poeta 3 times in January and this review is a collection of those experiences. We ordered a stupid amount of food between those 3 days. The tuna carpaccio was incredible. I could eat this all day, every day and never get sick of it. The arancini is a solid cold weather dish and is surprisingly filling for the size. The cappelletti was my far out favorite pasta dish. It was a little different each time we got it, but it was very good every time. We liked the lamb gnocchi a lot. It was very aromatic and herbaceous, and light on the lamb. However, our friends who went to poeta the next day described it as very heavy and lamb forward. So we sort of picked up that the cooking may have been a little inconsistent since the place was so new. The spaghetti carbonaro is incredibly rich and delicious, and all our friends who tried it really enjoyed it. We also ordered the risotto, Caesar salad, tagliatelle, branzino, the mozzarella, and whipped beans, which were all solid choices. The octopus wasn't great. It was a little tough and chewy. To be fair, it's hard to find a good octopus dish in Austin. Cocktails are solid here. They make a great espresso martini. The desserts are amazing, and I'm not a big dessert person. They are absolutely worth getting seeing that some of them are only ~$6. The gelatos and olive oil cake were my favorites. My friends really liked the goat cheese cake, but I found it a bit too heavy for my taste. Things I was not as big of a fan of: While I liked all the wine I tried here, I do feel like their wine selection had a lot of similar flavor profiles. All the reds I tried were super light bodied and fruit forward, which was delightful but I would have liked more variety to choose from. Since we were here during one of the opening months the menu items were fairly inconsistent. They were consistently delicious, but the flavors and consistency kept changing every time we came back. I'm excited to come back and have dinner here again, and I can re-evaluate if their menu has gotten more stable in a future review. Overall, this is a super cute date spot we loved the vibe. In comparison to Intero, we found the dishes slightly lighter and less expensive. However, intero still take the lead for best Italian in Austin. read more

we felt very rushed today, we had sat down at 4:30, took a while to order drinks due to server and then we ordered antipasti. They then told us we had to order our whole meal so we only placed appetizers because we weren't sure what to order. Minutes after every dish came our server tried to take it away. She even took my drink that had a good amount left. We had closed out at 5:45 so way under the 2hr max. I wish their service was better as they had a massive group of staff. The guy next to us had a ceramic plate chip in his food. read more

Poeta is a great addition to the east 11th. We had reservations and the table before us took longer to finish than expected, but the staff brought us out some Prosecco to sip on while we waited! We started with the arancini and crisply polenta. Both were delicious, and the table next to us loved the beef tartare. I had the tagliatelle--the pasta was perfectly Al dente and the sauce was creamy. I'd like to go back to try more of their dishes--especially their lunch menu to try the paninis. read more

We love Intero sonwere excited to try sister restaurant Poeta. It is a small dining room and bar...more like a bistro. We recognized many menu items from Intero. Food was incredible. Balanced flavors, beautiful presentation, nice service staff. All items were really excellent. Evej more amazing is the approachable pricing. Desserts for $4 to $8 jist doesnt happen in Austin with this caliber of food quality. This entire meal with 25% tip/tax was $225 for 4 (no drinks). Pasta was pwrfectly al dente and well salted (just like in Italy) . Only nit picks were thst the grilled bread for the whipped beans and the tartare have a nice geill on them but the charred taste was too much and overpowering. The fork was so thin diameter that it made it quite difficult to twirl the spaghetti on the fork. Very small issues for an incredible meal and price. Thanks Poeta! read more
Poeta is sublime. I had the Pasta Trottole and it was honestly the best pasta I've ever had. My sister and her husband had breakfast items, and they were reported to be delicious. I did taste my sister's biscuit and it was fluffy and light, the way my grandmother used to make them. The ambiance is wonderful--not noisy at all. And while not critically important, Poeta has the most gorgeous flatware I've ever seen, hands down. read more

We were here for the late summer 2025 prefix menu and it was so so good. It was hard to pick a favorite dish. The restaurant itself is very cozy and has a huge garden outside. It's the perfect spot for a special occasion. We'll definitely be back! read more

Super cute intimate restaurant. I also have very good things to say about the service. We were on a time crunch and our server made sure the food came out in time. They have a waiting area where you can order drinks on your phone and they bring them out to you. I like that idea because the wait can be very long if you don't have a reservation. We went about 6:15PM and the wait was about an hour with no reservation. The food is nicely presented. We got the arancini, blue crab pasta, and beef shoulder. Wow that beef shoulder was flavorful and tender. I did like the pasta and the sauce but a little fishy. This is such a cute date spot or girl's night meal. I think you get a great experience for what you pay for. read more

went here with a couple girlfriends for brunch. 1- super cute area. it was cold and we weren't stoked about having to go to the patio, but once we saw the seating area we were super excited as it is a closed off patio, not cold really at all and well decorated. The inside is just as cute as well. One odd thing- there were no coffee or tea options on the menu, as I assumed this was a brunch spot so i found this off. (they do serve coffee and tea). Service! Our waitress was nice, the bussers were honestly super attentive and helpful. Food! The waffle is insanely delicious- the espresso butter is could drink. I would come back for the waffle. The ricotta was also yummy and the chocolate was extremely rich which i enjoyed. We also got a mushroom egg scramble which I wasn't blown away by- the flavor profile was quite lacking for me and fell flat. We also got the bruschetta which i believe has beans (?) on it as well, it was good- i thought both the scramble and bruschetta could have had more layers or even just a speck of salt for my liking. I would want to try the paninis if I find myself here again. Price! The food that we got (besides the $4 ricotta) was averaging about $15-18 a plate which is pretty average for an above-scale restaurant. I would come here again as it is a cute spot and the other dishes looked good enough to try! read more
Always excited for newer restaurants but hesitant to try right away because they usually fall short for me in some way, however, Poeta was a beautiful experience and I absolutely cannot wait to revisit! Every menu item we ordered was truly incredible! QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, there is (free) street parking and small lots around the area. Check out their FAQ on their website for exact locations of parking recommendations. - Reservations? Yes, highly recommended for Fridays and weekends. You can book online or call them to see if they can squeeze you in if a time you want isn't available. - Happy hour? Yes, daily from 3-5pm. Select antipasti, cocktails, and wine by the glass. FOOD RATINGS: - Beef Tartare (5/5): This was quite possibly one of the best beef tartare dishes I've ever had. Full of flavor and texture, bright and colorful and rich, and a generous portion. My only nitpick is they do not give you enough bread to go with it. We had to ask for more and even then they only gave us 2 more slices. It's a lot of beef and not enough bread to go with it. - Mezzalune (5/5): These were amazing! Simple but light and full of flavor. They stuffed these generously with the crab meat, which is awesome. I enjoyed the combination of the creamy sauce with lemon and avocado and mint. If you're not into mint, it's mostly for garnish (it didn't overpower the other flavors at all). - Risotto (4/5): This was good. Very flavorful and savory. The salsa verde and grilled greens help cut through the heaviness of the bone marrow. A little bit salty due to the ingredients, but tasty. We couldn't finish it though because the flavor becomes overwhelming toward the end. - Cheesecake (5/5): Loved this! Big fan of goat cheese, cherry, and pistachio. Some of my favorite flavors. I think I found my new favorite restaurant! Poeta's lovely ambiance, attentive service, and stellar food was everything I look for. Everything was also reasonably priced and portion sizes were great. I celebrated my birthday dinner here with friends and we were immediately drawn in by the gorgeous decor. It reminds me of a New Orleans style interior meets modern edge, which are the aesthetics I adore. Our server was attentive with ease all while serving during peak Saturday dinner hours without breaking a sweat. And the food - wow, now this was food (especially the pasta) we were all stunned by. We ordered: -Grilled Caesar salad -Tagliatelle -Cappelletti -Housemade Meatballs -Olive oil cake Everything we ordered was incredible and I highly recommend them. Our favorites that stood out to us were the pastas. The Tagliatelle was heavily mushroom centered so if you love mushrooms like I do, then get this entree. The Cappelletti's flavors of crab blended well with the rich and creamy sauce. I'm a huge fan and cannot wait to return to try everything else! And it's best to make a reservation in advance - I made our reservation 3 weeks ahead of my birthday and I'm relieved I did, because even then there were barely any reservation slots left. read more

I always forget to write reviews, but I visited Poeta this past Sunday & Im still dreaming of it! Every bite was literally PERFECTION. My friend got the meatball panini and I got the spaghetti. We ended up sharing meals because we both fell in love with everything. The hibiscus soda was so refreshing and the service was fast and amazing! The vibes of the place were also so cozy and peaceful it made it make you feel right at home. I highly recommend giving this place a try. I will definitely be back when in town again! read more

Overall, not bad and would try it again, but didn't blow my mind as I had hoped. Server was great, but our entrees took 40+ minutes between ordering and hitting the table (and it was a Tuesday). The gnocchi and capellini were the real highlights - though the lamb was overstated on the gnocchi. Definitely great pasta dishes all around. The meatballs weren't what we hoped either and we wished they were more traditional Italian flavor - also were a bit too dense. read more

Beautiful decor, lovely service, and great food! Made reservations for a weekday brunch (not a lot of places in town that do this). My friend ordered a latte and the fried eggplant panini (delicious and quite large) while I ordered the eggs Benedict and subbed the prosciutto for mushrooms - the bernaise was delicious and the bread and mushrooms were perfect. Ended the meal with splitting the waffle with coffee ice cream and an espresso drizzle. Will be putting Poeta into my rotation moving forward. Parking is available along the building and on the main and side streets. read more

I made a reservation at Poeta for 9pm and we didn't get seated until about 915pm. The host did say he would comp our first round of drinks which I appreciated. It was very busy at the time and quite noisy in the restaurant. You could definitely hear everyone's conversations at other tables. I ordered a belon cocktail. It was pretty strong but tasty though. I ordered off the restaurant week menu. Unfortunately, two items were already sold out, the halibut and the cheesecake. I got the arancini, bibb salad, gnocchi and the tiramisu. The arancini was crispy and savory. I enjoyed the sauce that was at the bottom. The bibb salad had a vinaigrette which was acidic and paired well with the prosciutto. I enjoyed my partner's grilled salad a little more. The gnocchi was very good. It was soft and had fried onions on top which gave a nice variety of texture. The sauce was delicious. The lamb was tender. The tiramisu definitely tasted like coffee. I am not a coffee lover so it wasn't my favorite dish. We got free Prosecco because it was our anniversary. We also received a $15 off coupon for our next visit because it was so busy. I would return to Poeta to try other dishes. read more
This restaurant is relatively new to the neighborhood but already quite popular. Reservations are required for the bar seats and even getting a last second table at 5:30 on a Sunday was a lucky thing, so plan accordingly. The chicken liver mousse is delicious and filling as a start for two people. It comes with a mustard and a fig jam that make for excellent pairings. It only comes with 3 pieces of bread so order more immediately. I look forward to trying a salad on a healthier day. My friend and I shared the spaghetti carbonara and mezzalune, which is like ravioli stuffed with crab. The mezzalune came with slices of avocado and a cream sauce. The description of the mezzalune includes preserved lemon and mint, but I do not recall any of those flavors. I don't regret ordering it but I wouldn't do it again. The carbonara was tasty but nothing special. If I'm in a carbonara mood, I'll order it again. The cocktail menu looks inventive. We were drinking wine but were given one left-over cocktail for free. It was their invictus, made with tequila and a couple types of vermouth. It was very tasty. I couldn't taste the tequila and it reminded me a lot of Campari. A staff member said that the bartenders could make any variation on a Manhattan. The staff were attentive. The ambiance was pleasant, with a sort of fancy cafe vibe. Wow wow wow is all I need to say. Our group of 6 came here for an early dinner on NYE. The drinks, the food, the service, the atmosphere... all were fantastic! The cocktails were really interesting. My favorites were the Johnny Utah and 11th Street Daiquiri (great fruity summer drink). We split the Caponata and Whipped Beans antipasti as well as the Beef Tartare and Tuna Carpaccio for our appetizers. I forgot to get a photo of the antipasti and tartare, but they were our favorites of the apps. We all particularly liked the whipped beans and would highly recommend you give them a try. The carpaccio was tasty too, just not our favorite of the bunch. For our entrees, we got the following: Tonarelli (uni pasta), Spaghetti (carbonara with pork confit), Gnocchi (with lamb), Grilled Octopus, Risotto (with bone marrow), and Lion's Mane Picatta. Each dish was flavorful and cooked beautifully. We all really enjoyed the octopus. However, I would say my favorites were the picatta and tonarelli. Considering that all 6 dishes were amazing, I don't think you can go wrong with any entree here. Finally for dessert, we split the Chocolate Torte (with amaretto gelato), Chevre (goat cheese) Cheesecake, and the Grapefruit Thyme Sorbet. Our favorite was hands down the cheesecake, but all three were delicious and gave us a sense of very different dessert flavors. Our server was absolutely fantastic. We always had water and drinks, her recommendations were spot on, and she was very friendly and helpful. I can't wait to come back in the future to try more dishes. read more

Wonderful cozy restaurant that feels like an Italian or French Bistro/Brasserie. Service is excellent, attentive, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Food is all prepared with care and attention to detail of which there are many. The mortadella is a must, and I would have licked the plate if I could. The pasta carbonara had the perfect texture and the gnocchi were soft and like little pillows. The Aperol spritz and the Frances Spritz drinks were simple and elegant, and their Barbera wine by the glass complimented every dish. Great place, will come back again. read more

I hate giving restaurants bad reviews. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere is very charming. The food is terrible. My husband ordered the wagyu panini, which was so dry he couldn't eat it. I ordered the meatball sandwich and the meatballs were so burnt they weren't edible. The issue I have with this, is that a cook clearly saw that these were burnt and served them anyway. When the server came to collect my unconsumed plate, he could clearly see the burnt meatballs, and did not address it. We really wanted to like this place, but the quality just isn't there. read more

Super cute neighborhood restaurant with cozy patio at the front and back. The outdoor spaces are dog friendly too. Food is on point. We came here for brunch and the server was very helpful with recommendations. We tried a few antipasti and especially love the mortadella. The house made biscuit is a must have! I had the roasted beet & farro salad which is so fresh and filling. We ordered spaghetti with carbonara sauce and roasted pork to share with the table. It is one of the best pastas I've ever had in town. Definitely check it out! read more

Very cool spot. The design is well done, and there's a good vibe. Dishes were good and not overpriced. The chicken Milanese was a good portion (ate just a little over half). The sauce was very good. read more

Came here the first time with my bestie for a GNO. We split the mushroom and crab pasta, which were both very good! Came here another time with friends and I split the spaghetti and the crab pasta. Both were very good, but my favorite has to be the crab pasta (Capelletti). It has a generous amount of crab meat with a lemony cream sauce. read more

I went to Poeta for the first time with a friend Sunday afternoon and it was delightful. It has a wonderful vibe, very luxurious and laid back. The space, both indoors and on their outdoor covered patio, is beautiful with lots of fun details. And I haven't even talked about the food yet! We got some antipasti, main dishes, and dessert to share and everything was delicious. I especially loved the beet/farro salad - I ate it slowly to savor it, so dang good. We had the wafflegato (waffle affogato), and the espresso butter combined with the maple gelato was insane. It was pretty reasonably priced too - not cheap, but pretty normal for Austin and they have some happy hour ("Social Hour") specials on the weekend 3-5. This is definitely going on my list of places to go when I want to treat myself or celebrate. The staff was very helpful and friendly too. All around, a great experience. read more

Superb! Amazing experience! Food was so good! The table had the Crab Cake, Mozzarella (to die for), Spaghetti, Tagliatelle, and Wafflegato. Everything was truly so so good! Definitely going back, and highly recommend anyone looking for a great Italian spot. read more
