Got a take out of eggs Benedict when my family came for brunch. It was quite good. Maybe even better in person since it got a bit cold . The hash brown was crispy on the outside which I loved. Eggs Benedict tasted great with few slices of ham. Highly recommend this place
You can always count on poached for a solid breakfast. Their drinks are excellent as well! I personally love their hash browns which have a Crisp exterior and fluffy interior. The breakfast burrito is a standout and you can't go wrong with waffles, pancakes, or their fried chicken. The line can get long but they recently transitioned into a check in system so you no longer have to wait outside. Service is also always fast and efficient
Since our flight home wasn't until the afternoon and we had to check out of our hotel by 11 AM, we decided to enjoy a leisurely breakfast here first. I'd found this restaurant on Yelp and convinced the others to join me in checking it out. It's a relaxed spot where you order at the register, receive a number, and then find your own seat. I usually feel rushed making menu choices when there's a line behind me, but this time, we were the only ones waiting, and the kids quickly decided on their breakfasts. Finding a table for four was effortless. The cashier was neutral--neither especially friendly nor rude, simply efficient at her job. My man really enjoyed his coffee, and I liked mine too, though I can't quite remember which kind of latte I ordered. We shared a Salmon Eggs Benedict--a perfect combination of poached egg, creamy hollandaise, and smoked lox. Delicious! My daughter ordered the kids' pancake with egg and bacon and said it was good. My partner's daughter opted for a huge breakfast burrito with chorizo--she liked it, but couldn't finish the generous portion. It was the perfect way to enjoy our final breakfast in Irvine.
My bf and I came at 10 on a Saturday and didn't have to wait long. Ordering was a bit chaotic though since you need to order before getting seated. We felt rushed to make a decision but appreciated that they at least controlled the line to ensure there was a seat ready before letting us in to order - just wish they made it more clear somewhere. Plenty of parking, decent service although busy, would be back to try more of their options. This time around we ordered: - Breakfast Burrito (4/5): huge portion for price, loved the flavors and how cheesy this was; wish the salsa did a better job at adding spice and cutting through the heaviness of the dish but the pico de Gallo in the burrito helped with that - Fried chicken sandwich (4/5): Pretty sizable and filling sandwich. Chicken is fried well and juicy. While there was slaw in the sandwich to add some extra tang it should have been complemented with a sauce to make it a little less dry. Got this with fruit on the side which helped balance out the sandwich.
+ The Huevos Rancheros was deeelectable. - However, portion size was small; - A lil exorbitant. This $19 meal left me famished still. - Their software teased a 20%-off offer before actually granting it. Maybe you can manage to redeem it in time for your 1st order. - Confusing online ordering platform. The Huevos Rancheros ingredient list includes hashbrowns. Turns out it's one of the side options, not readily included in the main entree. It seems that by choosing fruit, the hashbrowns were excluded from the meal. :/ . A bit crowded, both seating and parking. + Polite, efficient, helpful service. + Pleasant ambience. - Burrito was a bit bland and dry. Needed plenty sauce & drink to flush it down bite by bite. + Also crunchy and yummy though. I had: $17 breakfast burrito + $19 huevos rancheros + a whopping 12.75% tax&fees = $40.59
Wow! What beautiful plates of food and amazing taste. Came here for breakfast today and what a great experience. We ordered a cappuccino, salmon toast and lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes. The plates themselves are beautifully made. Vibrant colors and delicious flavors. Everything we saw being served looked amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Food was served quickly and hot. Not one thing was wrong or missing. Everything very clean and super clean restrooms. Highly recommend this location. A highlight to our morning.
Had such a nice breakfast at Poached Kitchen in Irvine with my aunt! I ordered the fried green tomato BLTA with a side salad, and it was fantastic. Fair warning though -- I got a little too excited and bit into it too early, and it definitely burned my mouth, so give it a minute to cool down! Totally worth the wait. I chose the side salad because fries or fruit in the morning probably would have put me straight to sleep during my drive up to Palmdale for a client meeting, and it ended up being the perfect choice. My aunt ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was rightfully massive -- definitely a hearty breakfast. The service was quick and efficient. It's the kind of place where you order at the counter, get a number, and they bring the food to your table, which made everything easy. I can imagine they get really busy on weekends. Best part? I loved my sandwich so much that I happily ate the second half for lunch later. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!
This is a great spot! We were welcomed right when we walked in. The place is nice and bright with big windows, high ceilings and open seating. You order your food and then find your seat. There were so many yummy sounding items that it was tough to decide what to order. I'm not a traditional pancake person but they had a tropical one that sounded amazing. And I really want to try their chicken sandwich and breakfast burritos. I ended up getting the churro waffles with a side of the mango that went on those tropical pancakes and it was so dang good! We also ordered Birria Short Rib Eggs Benedict - with perfectly flavored meat and the best poached eggs on top, a macadamia nut milk latte - loved it so much, and a delicious Bloody Mary. The service was great, the place is nice, neat, and clean throughout, and we can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!
We got there around 10 AM on Saturday and waited about 30 minutes to get a table. All the staff were friendly. You need to order at the register first, then they will assign you a table. I was happy to see they have a fun seasonal menu, like the mango French toast. I opted for something healthy and ordered the Asian salad with avocado. My group ordered the chilaquiles and the Benedicts. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed my mocha with oat milk. One note: we sat on their patio, and the fence was covered in spider webs. The tables are placed right next to it, so eating beside spider webs was very uncomfortable, to say the least. At one point, a spider even climbed onto my friend's pants. I hope management does better at cleaning their patio.
Need a place for breakfast in an infrequently travelled area. So onto Yelp and found this gem. Decent sized place, indoor & outdoor seating & busy. Always a good sign. Lotsa parking & wait wasn't too long - prob helped we weren't picky about seating location. Name called, in line to order and told where to sit. Surprisingly food came quickly despite the large numbers of diners. For me the Mango Curd French Toast. 2 slices of Texas toast, well battered & smothered in mango curd sauce & fresh fruit accompanied with maple syrup. Excellent taste. For my companion the Short Rib Omelet - onion, peppers, mushrooms & tomatoes mixed with the rib and gravy. Meat was tender, but lacking salt it was still delicious. Huge recommendation for this one!
The system here is a little unconventional. You have to order before you sit down. Since it was my first visit and I hadn't seen the menu yet, I felt a bit rushed. That said, the food definitely beats the competition. We got the Birria Benedict and the breakfast burrito, and both were great. The Birria was a little on the salty side, but that didn't stop me. Also, the latte was fantastic. It's worth the stop, just do yourself a favor and look at the menu before they let you in the building!
This place is always packed on weekend mornings--there's almost always a line. We were lucky to grab a corner bar seat after about a 15-minute wait. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles, and both came out perfectly crispy. Not many spots manage to get waffles truly crunchy, so that was a big plus. I chose the cinnamon sugar waffle thinking the flavor would be baked into the waffle itself, but it actually came from the butter, which felt a little odd--basically an extra dollar just for flavored butter. Was happy that they have Lavender Latte. It was delicious. Overall the experience was nice. The space is modern and roomy, and I like the setup where you order at the counter and they bring the food to you--definitely my kind of spot.
I got their short rib omelette and it was pretty good! I'm usually very particular about omelette because many that I have tried they put too much oil and the egg becomes hard and greasy. However, their omelette was very soft and fluffy. The short rib inside was also very tender. I would definitely come back for this dish. The hash browns was ok. A bit plain but they have salt on the side for you to add. The service was fast. Waited about 10 min. Getting a seat took a bit longer, maybe 30 min. The inside was pretty casual. There's seats inside and outside. Parking was easy to find since it's at a big plaza.
Everyone here was so friendly and the service was great, but the food was lackluster. We ordered the verde chilaquiles and the short rib dip. I also had their Vietnamese latte (which is their twist on a Vietnamese iced coffee). I thought that was way too sweet for me. As for the food, it was all kind of bland. A great option for breakfast in Irvine! I came on a Sunday morning around 1030 with my friends, and despite there being a long line (maybe 15-20 people in front of us), we were called in after about 10 minutes of waiting (we chose first available and were seated outside). You go to the counter and order, and after ordering, you find your table. Food comes out fast, like within 10 minutes of ordering. My friends and I got the short rib benedict and the chilaquiles verde; both were great, but the short rib was more like pulled pork with Asian flavors. Prices are what you would expect for breakfast in Irvine. read more

I have been here a couple of times and I thought it's a pretty solid breakfast place in Irvine. We came on a Sunday and waited about 30-40 min to get a table, but the line moved quickly. The inside of the restaurant wasn't very hectic and had a calm vibe which I liked. We got the ricotta blueberry pancakes which were very good! The pancakes were nice and fluffy, and the blueberry compote wasn't too sweet! The ricotta added a nice lightness to the dish and was a great combination. We also got the smoked salmon Benedict. I didn't like this dish as much because of the hollandaise sauce. In my opinion, the sauce was a bit heavy for my liking, but the smoked salmon, capers, dill, and poached egg balanced the dish out. What made the dish was actually the hash browns. The consistency was similar to mashed potatoes in the inside. It was nice and fluffy, but on the outside was still crispy. I always love coming here after a camping trip or a retreat because I happen to be driving through in the morning. Some of their best dishes for me have been the tiramisu pancakes, anything with short ribs in them, simple breakfast with eggs and protein. One of the things that I especially appreciate about this restaurant and restaurants in general is the team culture environment. This establishment demonstrates that really well with their level of service, but also the way that they interact with each other is friendly and supportive, and it just helps to build an atmosphere That the feels easy to relax, you will be taken care of. read more

Coming in you get to order the food first, which is great when you have more than one person in the group. So no trying to figure out how much everyone has to pay. I ordered the chilaquiles. There was verde sauce, cojita cheese and egg. It would be good with some chicken and carne asada. I also like it drenched with sauce. So it was ok. Not some thing i would get again. I got the peach tea, and it tasted really good. Very refreshing. I also loved the chocolate waffles. It was crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. With the whip cream and fruits, it was perfect. I'd come back for the waffle for sure. There are no servers, but food runners/bussers. They work hard and fast. Despite being busy, they are very kind. We came for brunch to celebrate Son's 1st Father's Day. Open daily from 7am to 2pm, no reservations are accepted. Hubby and I arrived at 10:40am to put our name down. We were told there was about a 20-minute wait, which worked well for us, as the rest of our party was expected about 11am. When your name is called, you are directed to the counter to place your order and make your cashless payment. Afterwards, we were shown to our table. The drinks arrived first, with our food very shortly thereafter. Hubby got a good-sized portion of chicken and waffles, served with syrup and country gravy. My Short Rib Benedict had a nicely runny poached egg. Son's Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Cakes was presented with a topping of fresh blueberries, sliced almonds, a pretty mint sprig, and a generous dusting of powdered sugar. They were fluffy and even the 8-month-old baby liked them. DIL and I got Dulce de Leche and Matcha Lattes. A sign in the front requests that parties do not stay past 1 1/2 hours. There is seating both inside and outside. Located at the shopping center at Main and Harvard in Irvine, parking was pretty impacted with Ralph's and CVS nearby. Food and drinks arrived pretty quickly, and we did not feel rushed, even though the place was packed. read more

We were looking for a breakfast spot before doing some shopping and we found Poached Kitchen on Yelp. You order up front and pay, then take a number to your table that you pick. We sat outside on a small patio area. We ordered the mimosa package, Salmon toast and Wild Mushroom toast. The Mimosas were a whole bottle of Brut and carafe of orange juice. Honestly not bad for only $30! We shared the 2 toasts and couldn't decide which was our favorite because they were both amazing. I'm probably leaning towards the mushroom but the salmon was incredible too. It was just the right amount of food before going shopping and there Uber driver picked us up and to the mall we went. Ordering and paying up front made it quick and easy and the food quality was on point. If I'm in the area again I would definitely stop back. read more

I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good the breakfast was at Poached! POSITIVES 1. The servers are super attentive and refilled my coffee a lot (even though I didn't want any more... because the black coffee was just horrible) 2. They let you swap for egg whites for a more macro friendly breakfast! The arrachera scramble was to die for!!! Also it comes with bread which is also so so good BUT they pre-butter it :( Not macro friendly so I wish they disclosed that so I could opt out of it. 3. There's a Ralph's nearby in the same lot so it's perfect to do a grocery run while you're out! NEUTRALS 4. You order at the counter and then are seated - this means your entire part has to be there before you can order and get seated. Could be a good or bad thing for you and your party if you have stragglers! 5. Parking directly in front of the place is limited but there's plenty of parking in the same plaza around the corner. NEGATIVES 6. I love me some good black coffee but it was honestly so terrible. It was sour, bitter and way too strong! I've had better black coffee at Chick Fil A. Also their latte was SO, super sweet that it was hard to drink. That's the only reason why I knocked off a star. Overall, I'd still come back for the amazing food but I'll skip on the coffee or go to Starbucks beforehand. read more

I've come to Poached Kitchen twice already and I have really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. What I've enjoyed the most was the salmon eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce is really tasty and they top the eggs with capers and include plenty of salmon. You can choose fruit, salad, hash browns, or house potatoes on the side. We've also ordered huevos rancheros, baked apple cakes, chilaquiles verdes, and a matcha latte. All the dishes and the latte have been delicious. The only con I would say is that the dishes are on the pricier side. The restaurant is clean and has nice decor. They have a patio outside as well. read more

I stopped here on the way back to San Diego after visiting a friend in Irvine and I'm glad I did! I was craving chilaquiles so that was the main reason for my visit and they did not disappoint. The eggs were soft and the flavors were all so good together. The chilaquiles also came with a side of black beans and they were also really good (I didn't expect it) I also got the chicken and waffles -- the waffles were incredibly crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I was staying at a hotel close and I yelp places for breakfast. This place came up. I came here right when they open at 7am for breakfast. It was very clear inside. I ordered the Chile Verde Benedict with has browns. It was The services was great. Once put in my order, it didn't take long until came out. I got my order and the first bite was very tasty, especially when you cut the egg open and yolk come out. Luckily I came in just in time because it got busier after I got there. Overall I have a good experience and will come again (maybe try something new) when I'm in Irvine again. read more

Came here on a Sunday around 12:30pm, and the wait was around 30 minutes. Once you enter the restaurant, you place your order at the counter and they bring the food to you. It came out quickly. My bf and I split the pesto and ham toast and the baked apple cakes. The presentation of everything was so nice! The pesto and ham toast was missing something in my opinion. Maybe needed a little more pesto or maybe I needed to eat with my hands to get all the flavors at once. The ham was kind of plain, and the arugula was overpowering. The baked apple cakes were yummy! The pancakes were soft and fluffy. The 3 pancakes were so large! Maybe they could have made an apple cinnamon sauce to add more flavor. My friends got the omelette and the tacos. Overall a solid brunch spot! read more

Ordered for pick up and the food was ready within 15 min of ordering! Very impressed by the service and efficiency. Originally we intended on getting food delivered but found out we weren't in range. It was a bit strange as we are only 5 min away. It was very convenient to pick up, there is a pick up only parking right at the front. The interior was very cute and looked fairly new. Loved the food. Ordered 2 Chili Verde Benedict's (soooo good. We liked it more than the Snoozes version) and the Baked Apple Cakes. Not sure if it was because we ordered it to go but the apples were not as soft as we would of liked. Overall thought the food was Egg-cellent and would definitely go here again. read more

Breakfast was absolutely AMAZING at the Irvine location! Fresh ingredients, made from scratch and promptly served! I've tried the breakfast burrito, apple pancakes and breakfast burrito and all were FABULOUS! Typically very busy (which I love because that means others like it, too!!!) and quite loud inside but tolerable. And always able to find a seat. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and while it's order at the counter, you're given a number and food is delivered to your table. Servings are pretty big; we always take food to go and reheats well. A must try!!! read more

If you're coming here for a Sunday brunch, expect at least a 30 min wait! It's pretty neat how the ordering system works. You wait in line, then you get called in to place your order at the counter, and then they tell you to sit at the table number. That way, you have the order already placed and sit there as you wait. The food also didn't take too long either, so that was pretty great! We ordered the breakfast burrito and short rib benedict. I mainly had the short rib bendict and it was very flavorful! I did remember seeing on the menu that it had some "Korean" flavors to it, but I honestly didn't taste it lol. It was definitely flavorful and unique in its own way. A bit too salty in my personal opinion, but was still enjoyable. The hashbrowns that came with the benedicts were a lot! I enjoyed the texture of it though, it was really potatoey in the inside and crispy on the outer layer. It was very hot, so be careful when you eat it! I did see my neighbor that you could probably substitute the hash browns with fries (I wish I did that!). My bf's breakfast burrito was pretty good too, it was lighter than expected, so you don't feel overly gross from it. This was a nice experience! read more

This place is very very good. The food is always hot and you can tell they care about their product. I'm very picky with eggs benedict and have a hard time finding good ones in restaurants, and I would definitely order it again here! Breakfast burrito delicious and balance. The smash burgers were very nicely seasoned along with the fried onions having almost a bacon quality. Eating outdoors is a nice experience since most of it is shaded. It's a great casual breakfast place with high quality food! read more

Complimentary water, lots of condiments available, indoor and outdoor seating. You find an open table and wait for your food. It's wonderful. Flavorful and fresh. My friend and I were craving both sweet and savoury... so we came here! I got the chilaquiles rojos with a side of fruits and it was amazing!! It had the right mix of flavors and textures. I tried some of the waffle and it was good too. With the syrup, it was very sweet but still good. I would recommend friends to come here for brunch! The only issue is just that it gets crowded usually and it's pretty small. read more

This is one of my favorite brunch spots in OC! The food is perfection! And the dulce de leche latte is exquisite! It's a different set up as you order your food at the front first and then they bring it to your assigned table. Ricotta pancake: seasonal menu. Pretty presentation. One of the fluffier pancakes ever. Wish they gave more ricotta whipp cream. Too little toppings for the price Pear lemonade: just lemonade. Finally got to try this place! We tried 3 times and all 3 times my patience was not having it. Short rib Benedict! Perfect combination of sweetness, tangy, and spicy. I've been consistently patronizing Poached since it replaced Coffee Bean and Flame Broiler. Expect a long line because the hours are short and breakfast is fresh and relatively healthy. FOOD & BEV I haven't tried their Breakfast Classics (steak & eggs, huevos rancheros, chilaquiles verde, chilaquiles rojos, etc) but I made a promise to myself that I'll step out of my comfort zone and risk it in 2023, so stay tuned. Comment below and tell me which one I should try and I promise to give you a shout out if I don't choke. Can't handle spicy hot. Their Morning Scrambles & Omelettes are to die for. I can't wrap my head around their Short Rib Omelette cuz I keep visualizing a cute little pig that looks like Miss Piggy going "...you puttin' my big a$$ in an omelette?" That's just me, so don't judge. Now let's move on to my fave. The morning scramble with chorizo. Oh Baybee, it's heaven. Eggs are scrambled perfectly, not too dry, just enough chorizo, and whatever seasoning they put in there makes my big tummy smile. When you order online, make sure you scroll all the way down and ask for Butter & Jelly if you're into slathering that toast with a side of sweet flavoring. My husband and my stepson have recently asked for one of Poach's Off The Griddle dishes...French Toast...and I'm green with envy. Why, you ask?! Here's why. This delicious brioche is beautifully grilled and their house made caramel (cajeta) is poured over that sinful bread topped with, get this, chocolate whip and powdered sugar! Sometimes I hear voices in my head saying "...Cece, you might be replaced by a sexy French Toast one of these days). Am I being too paranoid?! You can be honest with me. Speaking of honesty, let me move on to their Coffee Bar. I'm not adding a disclaimer to justify my feelings but their Latte, as well as their Dolce De Leche lattes with Oatmilk are insanely delicious. I take mine without sugar and i must confess, my endocrinologist might have to recommend I join something similar to AA cuz I'm addicted to their DDLeche. DATE-WORTHY OR NOT Speaking of paranoia, no need to worry my starry-eyed Fans. Poached is as casual as you can get - it's a great place to take your Date. Ladies, no need to wear your exotic, sequined black mini dress, your Manolo Blahnik stilettos and your 2-mile long fake lashes. Come on down as that gorgeous you in your old jeans and tennis shoes. It's totally liberating and your Date will adore your down-to-earth cuteness. This is a good time to ask about his weekly routine, does he prefer going out to packed bars every night or does he relish the idea of staying home and cuddling over Netflix and butter popcorn? Gentlemen, this is a good way to find out more about your Date and her taste in food. If she comments on Poach's healthy menu, that's a checkmark on your list of Must Haves and Dealbreakers. Kidding!! Does she have a great sense of humor or is she too sensitive to your jokes? Is she nice or is she condescending to servers? Pay attention, my friends. PARKING No parking structures, no across-the-street parking, no meters, no ticket no need to park 6 blocks away. If you're old like me, this is huge. WILL I COME BACK? It's a resounding YES, especially since the staff and the manager have repeatedly acknowledged that I spend my precious dollars on their restaurant, and not somewhere else since there are so many breakfast places here in Irvine, CDM, and Newport Beach. 1. The lattes here are so yummy ! Food was amazing as well. 2. Parking is good, since it is located at a large parking lot. 3. We were lucky enough that we didn't wait more than 10 min to be seated. However, once we left, the line was out the door. 4. We were seated inside. It can get pretty loud in there, but it's okay. 5. You order and pay first, then you sit down. This is good since you can leave as soon as you're done eating. But the trade off is that service can be slow, since you have to scout someone to come to your table. read more

Went on memorial day and it was super busy! There was a line out the door, but the service still managed to be super efficient, and we got a table and our food pretty quickly. The ambiance was super cute and bright. Overall, gave good vibes. Latte - 3.7/5 Decent, but nothing special. Just a normal latte you would expect to get at a place that doesn't specialize in coffee. Vietnamese coffee - 2.5/5 Normally Vietnamese coffee has really strong flavors to make up for the ice watering it down as it melts, but this one didn't, which just made it super watered down. Chicken and waffles - 4/5 The waffle was the best I've had in a while. Really crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was sweet, but not too sweet; just a perfect balance of flavor. Unfortunately, the overall rating of the dish was dragged down by the chicken a bit, which was perfectly fried, but not seasoned very well, making it a little bland. The sauce it came with was also pretty bland and heavy, dragging down the dish a bit. The maple syrup was good though! I wish they gave a bit more! Cinnamon roll French toast - 2/5 The most disappointing part of the meal. The toast was kind of dry and there was no maple syrup to help. Overall, just not very flavorful, and kind of a letdown. Chilaquiles verde - 4.8/5 A tie for my favorite part of the meal with the waffle in the chicken and waffles! Super flavorful with the eggs cooked to perfection and the salsa perfectly seasoned. Normally, the chips in chilaquiles can get soggy pretty quickly, but these stayed crunchy throughout the entire meal. The pickled shallots on top were the perfect addition. Overall, the worst parts of the meal were mediocre, not terrible, and the best were amazing, so I would definitely go back to try more. 4.2/5 read more

Can I make a reservation for 3 today online the minimum of people is 6?
Goodmorning unfortunately our reservations platform is for large parties 6 or more at the moment.
How is parking? Is there parking at the location? is there a fee to park? also, since you dont take reservations how would you fit a party of 20? i tried calling and emailing but still no answer after 3 emails.
Parking is very good, I had no problem parking on a very busy day. There is no fee for parking. Could fit 20, placing several tables together. I am sure the restaurant manager would accommodate if asked early on. The food (breakfast) is outstanding!

No, they sadly do not have GF items like that. I just inquired over the phone.

The "V" (menu above cashier in store has a "VG") is for vegetarian options, not vegan.
Are dogs allowed if they have outside dining?
Yes I believe you can keep your dog outside since you pick your own seating
Do we need to do a reservation?
No this place is pretty casual. First come first serve after you order at the counter they will gave you a number and from there you can grab a table if available.
