The Good: came here for Saturday brunch and they have a good system of reserving a table for you before you order at the counter. The food came out fast and portions were big. When we asked for extra plates, service was quick and attentive. The Bad: the short rib omelette had an enchilada-like sauce on it which I wasn't expecting. It gave the dish a distinct flavor that I wasn't a fan of. The hash browns lacked crispiness. read more

Great place, service not so great! Got here 20 minutes before closing and person taking order said it was only orders to go and we couldn't eat inside, so I asked what about all the people eating already and she said we're going to try and get them out by 2pm. I'm like woah ok! Place shuts it all down by 2pm. I asked manager what time cut off time was and she said 1:45pm. Ok so I'm thinking I made it, I got here at 1:40pm, which is 20 minutes before closing. The young lady was more worried about wanting to go home than attending customers. Manager said you're welcome to eat here. Young lady at the register taking orders could care less how she talk to customers. There's many other places to eat, I will not be going back there again. Get treated better when I spend less buying an ice cream or a cup of coffee. read more

Bit confusing when we arrived since we had a reservation but it's an order and sit kind of place. Outside patio was shaded and lovely. Indoors is also very cute and welcoming. Great simple decor and furniture. Food was excellent, would definitely come again! Gets busy around 10 am so come early to avoid a wait. read more

We went into poached this morning for breakfast. They have a good menu. We chose the simple classic breakfast. The service here is good. They walk around and make sure you have everything you need and your food was good. The food comes out hot. Everything was good. The inside is nicely set up and clean. Lots of room. I would recommend Poached if you're looking for good food. read more

Such a perfect addition to Anaheim Hills! Fantastic menu selection! We got chicken and waffles that were so delicious. The breading on the chicken was light and flavorful and so were the waffles! We also got the French toast with poached pears...so so good! We also got a white peach Bellini and a pumpkin spice latte. The PSL tasted like it was made with real pumpkin, not a syrup. I can't wait to go back! Love that you order at the counter but they bring you your food, great service. read more

A friend took me here for my birthday lunch . First time I have been here and my friend was excited that one finally opened in her area. There is indoor and outdoor seating and parking in a shopping lot area. You walk inside the counter and place your order. We were greeted by lovely employees. I ordered the vegetable omelette with a side of sour dough bread and fruit while my friend ordered the breakfast tacos. A number is given to you to put on your table. It didn't take long for our food to come out. The presentation was nice and very colorful. Both of our orders were delicious. They give quite a bit of portions for the vegetable omelette and I took half to eat later that day. The service was good and around 11:00 am, when we arrived, it wasn't busy yet. Their hours is 7 am to 2 pm . There is no doubt that this place will be busy and especially on the weekend. Overall, my first visit was great and I look forward to coming here again. read more

we loved poached! i'm so happy a brunch spot opened in anaheim hills, we need more entertaining places like this in the area. i came here with my boyfriend and we decided to order something sweet, and another thing savory to try. we decided on the veggie scramble (side of hashbrowns and whole grain toast, but you can choose your sides), and the classic waffles. he got a vanilla latte and i got the bottomless drip coffee. everything was very yummy! i loved both the veggie scramble and the waffles! the waffles have this yummy whipped cream on them with berries and it was very delicious! the veggie scramble was also very yummy and fresh. my boyfriend loved the hashbrowns and the waffles as well! coffee was fresh and delicious. i'd definitely reccomend to share at this place, since their portions are pretty big. we had a great time sharing and trying new dishes! the place is very fun and pretty; you can sit inside or outside. it was packed on a friday morning, but it was a really fun ambiance. we had such an amazing time together! thank you poached for making our morning!! read more

Good for breakfast and brunch. Somewhat on the pricy side. Expect to wait on weekends because it will be long wait and crowded.

Best breakfast burritos in OC!! They have great flavor and fresh ingredients! Just want to let others know to double check the location when you order online from their website. They have multiple locations and you need to make sure you are clicking the correct location when you go through the process because I believe it prompts you twice. My online order accidentally went to Irvine instead of Anaheim. I know they have an app so it's best to order through there. It's definitely my fault so please don't make the same mistake. Thankfully Jim cancelled my Irvine order for me! Congrats Jim on your Whittier location! read more

DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU'RE READY TO WAIT and SCREAM. We tried this several times before giving this review. Today is Sunday and we went at 1130am so we visited this location at their worst time. We waited 30 minutes to put in our order and 22 minutes to get our food. We're attracted to this place because of the quality of the food and when they don't have tables full and a half hour wait, their service is excellent as well. But they placed their tables 8" apart and the chairs back to back are just a little more - about 12" - so getting to your chair is not easy and makes people have to pull in their chairs for you to pass and some don't want to. As you sit at your table you have people seated about 8" away and if both tables on either side are loud conversationalists, then you're in a sound tunnel and can't hear the person sitting right across from you. Of course this is unique if you're a party of 2 and you get your own table if you have 3 or 4 people and a little more room between tables. This describes a party of 2 that paid $65+ for breakfast. Some cultures like loud places - we ate at one for Dim Sum in Garden Grove where you sat at a table for 10-12 people - round table - and people stood behind you waiting for your seat...the people behind you were talking loudly and the people at the table were also very loud. Everyone seemed to enjoy that and the food was very good so we smiled and ate fast. If you like this then you'll like the ambiance at Poached very much and be sure to go on Saturday or Sunday morning. So we had Eggs Benedict, Mushroom Crusted Pork Chop, a single side pancake and a Cappuccino. Now careful about the pork chop...it comes with potatoes, toast, two eggs on a very small plate...so they have to stack the items on top of each other. In order to eat it, you have to spread it out, but the table is too small and there are no extra plates. We declined to start putting things on the table even though we're not germaphobic. At a fine restaurant they would bring an extra plate...for bread, for potatoes, or something...not happening here. So you have to focus...eat one thing until it's gone then move other things over so you can work on those. Slicing a tomahawk pork chop? Out of the question. First clean your plate. We had to beg for more napkins, salt and pepper, and hot sauce...and getting more butter (mine was missing from my plate) was a long ordeal taking too long for the bread to stay warm. Normally when the place isn't busy, the service is excellent and very quick. But at this time even the servers were struggling to get around the crowds. Think about it...if you increase your seating by one third, then you product half again as much as you would with the less seating. So if you arrange to have 1/3rd more chairs when you have lines 30 minutes long, you increase your revenue by 100% (double). How can you resist that? My guess is they have 100 seats inside and 100 seats outside. So our favorite place for breakfast...a Saturday, Sunday morning affair, is our least favorite place for ambiance and service. And I don't see them on DoorDash at all so that's not a solution either. Our compliments to the kitchen...well organized, excellent sourcing and preparation...and stress-tested to the max with more seats than was ever built into their calculations. Our compliments to the servers...you're doing exceedingly well considering the challenges placed in front of you by the greedy owners. Best feature on Sunday? Being able to sit without rubbing elbows with the person next to you. See you on Tuesdays. read more

We tried this place based on reviews. Very disappointed. First off, they offer 2 types of soda and no diet. That's was hard to believe. I had the classic burger. It was terrible. No flavor. They offer no regular mustard. Bun was a lot smaller then burger. It really was the worst burger I have ever had. I left most of my meal. Fries were good. Husband had poached eggs, bacon and potatoes. His eggs were like hard-boiled. He was very, disappointed. The lady that took our order was not friendly or helpful. Probably wouldn't go back. read more

I hadn't heard of this place before, but we decided to check it out with some friends--and I was pleasantly surprised. You place your order at the counter before being seated, which isn't my favorite setup, but the food more than makes up for it. I ordered the prime rib sandwich, and it was absolutely incredible--so good, in fact, that I came back with my parents just so they could try it too. The food is five stars all the way. The vibe is casual but super cute, making it a great spot for brunch overall! read more

I went on Sunday at 10am. There was one person in line in front of me. She asked for my name and gave it to the hostess. She said I will be right back. She came back in about a minute. And just immediately started helping the person behind me. I patiently waited since I had a group of 2. Then a group of 3, 5, 2, 4, 4, 2 all went next. They all were seated. But my name was never called. Mind you I was literally standing next to her this entire time. I was waiting for 20 minutes and I was like excuse me are we going to be seated? She said oh I'm sorry I will get your table. She never called my name the entire time. Then she said we can have number 39 which was a booth. Then the party of 2 that was seated incorrectly wrong before us turned to her and asked if they could have the booth. And she said sure you can go to 39! And I was like what?!? It is safe to say I will never return to this establishment. The service was not just terrible but the lack of professionalism was astounding. Stay away. Save your time and money. read more

A trick if you're really hungry is to sit at the bar I went here with my mom and the food was excellent, we had breakfast. Love that they have waffles! Tasted good and it came with berries. My friend had a tuna melt she enjoyed. Decent basic expected food. Nothing overly special. The place was very busy on a Sunday. You order before you sit and then there isn't really someone "waiting" on you. We needed silverware and it came after our food. We'd asked for water when we ordered and had to ask again. So not really a full service restaurant I guess. Easy enough for brunch. read more

You have to order at the register so make sure the cashier gets your order right. I asked her about the banana pancakes and asked to order them but she didn't add to the order. My husband's food never came because she don't add to the order. She seemed preoccupied and not paying attention. I complained to the manager and he didn't seeem to care. He put it back on me as the customer. Said "well we show the customers on the screen before ordering.". My take away from this experience is that this restaurant is more of an order at the register and sit and eat your food. Do t expect any service here so do t tip. You won't get service here. read more

2 if us waited for 15 mins. At the Anaheim Hills restaurant for a table. Ordered from the counter then went to our assigned table. After about 45 mins, a waitress approached us and asked if we were close to being done as they needed our table to seat a party of 6!!! I have never been asked to leave a restaurant in my life. Went to Poached for the first time and I found it interesting that it's a sit down restaurant but you order before you sit. And if you want to order something else, you have to get up and order again. I wasn't a fan of that. But other than that, the staff is amazing and friendly. One of them, possibly the manager I think, gave my sister a free espresso drink because he saw her yawning and said she needed it. I found it really nice and funny. The food was really good, the fruit with my Classic Waffle was fresh, but my con is it's a bit overpriced. The hashbrowns were the perfect crisp, I would definitely get hash browns from here if I was craving it. Aesthetics wise, it's a beautiful restaurant that offers nice outside seating. If they took away the order before sitting I think I would enjoy going more. I was standing at the cash register for a while trying to figure out what to eat when I expected to sit down and browse the menu then order. read more

I gave a one star for service today. We are a group of moms that all ordered a meal and a drink. We waited in line and ordered everything. But then realized needed to order another drink. But the line grew to out the door and around the side of the building. I see that there was staff chatting and standing around and I asked if they can help me place a simple drink order so I didn't have to wait in the line again. They refused me. But last time when the guy manager was there he was able to do that and take my drink order on the side because he said I already waited in line. But today they refused to help me. And on top of that they are extremely rude even made us move tables because they needed to make room for other guests. So we did move but then she said she needed that table as well and made us more again ! With all the people standing around chatting they couldn't have moved table from the other empty tables ? Instead of inconveniencing us twice ! And we all paid a great tip as well when we bought our food ! Which is the wrong way to go because we didn't get the service yet and we had to tip. I'm extremely upset with this place. I really hope upper management can see my review and do something to improve your service . I started coming here since you guys first opened and it was much better. The staff was happier and service was much better. Upper management please read my review and take action! read more
