    My son and I had a horrible experience with Lone Star truck rental in Allen located at 5209 E…read more Parker Road. We had an appointment to pick up a vehicle on November 9 at 8am. The manager (someone named Brandon) did not arrive until 9:30. When we finally took possession of the vehicle(which was extremely dirty) for a 3 day rental, we advised Brandon that there was a possibility that we would be returning the vehicle a day early. He told us that if that happened, he would reimburse us for one day. He also said the $500 deposit would be returned in about 3 days. It was clearly understood that the vehicle rental was for unlimited miles. We conducted our business and did return the vehicle one day early. We waited 5 days and no deposit was returned. We placed our first call notifying Brandon at that time that we had not received our deposit. He said he would immediately send it. After 4 more days, numerous calls (which went unanswered) and additional false promises, we still had not received our deposit. Finally, after advising that we would take the issue further, we received a little over half the deposit. We were told that the reason for the reduced deposit was due to a damaged tire. No pictures were provided to us proving any tire damage. Regarding the credit for returning the vehicle one day early, we were told that we should have "reminded him" of the previous agreement. From our experience, it appears that the Lone Star Truck Rental location on East Parker Road is in need of professional help and serious customer service training. This was the first time I needed a hitch and trailer service from UHaul. While there was a missed step for a part to install, the team there helped me locate the missing part and quickly and effectively installed the hitch and had the van trailer reserved ready to go! They did everything RIGHT! My entire experience from start to finish with the GM and the staff (full time AND part time!) were so very helpful and answered all of my questions and concerns. I cannot say enough how wonderful they all are! Thank you very much for being the great team that you are!

The man at the front desk tried to call around to the neighboring Uhaul to see if they had any dollys available but none were. All of this was incredibly time consuming after standing in line for a long time. This incident ended up ruining my moving experience. After the store was unable to resolve my issue I messaged Anthony Summerfield the Uhaul General Manager but he replied with a very unhelpful response. This is the worst service I've ever had from any business during a move. Stay away from this company, Anthony Summerfield does not value his customers as you can see in the screenshots!

    By far the worst customer service experience I have had anywhere. Not just U-HAUL, I mean ANYWHERE…read more I never leave bad reviews, even when I have a bad experience. I live by "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it" but what happened that day was honestly horrible and I pray it was just me and people aren't treated that way normally. I walked in and was third in line, and I noticed the part that was taking long was checking people in and then processing the check-out so I went ahead and started the mobile check-in while waiting so that it would be smooth when it was my turn. I finished checking in and continued waiting. I have to note that I was not at all bothered by the wait. I could see there were just two people working and so a wait is expected and I understand., There were two people working, the man at the counter and a young man who he was directing to walk people to their truck, and even move it away from mud when it was parked in a bad spot since nearly the entire lot was muddy and wet. When it is my turn to step up to the counter, I begin with, "Hi, I have a reservation for..." I got out no more than that and he cuts me off and says "hold on" rudely and then turns to the person who had walked in after me and was in line behind me, and asks her "ma'am, what is your reservation under?" He proceeds to get her check-in started as I am standing at the counter and she is behind me. I was in disbelief. I just stared at him and he just looks at me almost piercingly and says, "what name is the reservation under" I reply with my full name. He looks and looks and cannot find it, so I offer my cell phone which shows my full name and even the reservation number. He very rudely and almost angrily says "wait, I already told you to hold on" I even had my driver license and credit card already out on the counter when I walked up, because I noticed he was asking people ahead of me. Since he was having trouble finding it I then suggest "my last name is Lerma Cespedes, maybe you can check under just Lerma or just Cespedes" and he replies even more rudely than he had been up to this point "Well which one is it???" To which I reply, "my name is Juan Lerma Cespedes, my reservation is under my full name" all while offering him my phone and driver license, and he would not even look at them. As I'm waiting the gentleman instructs the young man "please show Mrs. to truck number so and so and drive it out of the mud for her" "and Mrs. I hope you have a safe trip!" He then finally finds my reservation and finishes setting up. And I kid you not.... I cannot make this up, he hands me the keys and says "truck number, parked out front there." that is it. No "thank you have a nice day" no moving the truck out of the giant puddles it was parked in, nothing else. I wish I was exaggerating or making this up. It was truly awful.

Just miles away, U-Haul Prosper @ Hwy 121& Hwy 380 ... amazing customer service!

The movers who came to do the move were excellent. Polite, professional and positive. They are true ambassadors of excellence. They moved quickly, efficiently and carefully all at once. Unfortunately, they do NOT get a bonus each time we give a good review. That was a LIE and what I was told which is what sold me on the entire EXPENSIVE move. The ONLY reason why I didn't choose a less EXPENSIVE moving company or just snag some TaskRabbit movers was BECAUSE I was told I did NOT have to tip BECAUSE the drivers earn a bonus ON MY GREAT REVIEW. So when the movers came I had bought them some bottles of water each and had a $20 bill for each for an extra lunch tip. I had NO IDEA they worked for tips until later. I was SO ASHAMED that NONE of the $990 cost for 4 mile move was NOT being shared directly with them. I thought the bonus was the sign of a great company caring for their people. It was a blatant lie. At this point they have cheated my pocketbook or the movers with this deception. How many times have these excellent workers not been given better tips because we were told we didn't have to?! I am still outraged over this weeks later. Update: I have JUST gone through the reviews! I really wish I'd seen them BEFORE I scheduled the move! I was checking out Google reviews .. which turned out to be on THEIR website.
